Gud evening house.
I applied for canada student visa twice and i have been rejected both times because of finances (statement of account) dat i wont be able to Carter for my self bla bla bla. Now the p am having is dat am done with my bsc here in nigeria in microbiology but am looking to change my course to computer science(wch i have done cos i applied to brandon university already). House pls how do i tackle dis problem of change of course?
You had only issues of fund(which happens to be the easiest problem to tackle), now you want to add purpose of visit? Apply for masters in microbiology or something related to it.
Did you order for your GCMS note after your previous denials? If no, then try and do that before reapplying for trv.
NB: Above all, DO NOT GO FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE! RATHER, GO FOR MICROBIOLOGY(MSc)

Thank you dear. Please does he also need to provide land or rental property documents? Is it necessary?
I will advise he includes them as they show additional proof of funds(its never too much). Also, I will advise he pays your tuition fee and transfer your living expenses into your personal bank account(especially if he is a third party) or transfer both tuition and living expenses into your account if your school doesn't accept tuition fee until trv is approved.
NB: All these is for funds alone, please make sure your work on other aspect of your application as well: how to tackle purpose of visit, home ties,..etc).

Please someone should help me out with this..thanks
There will be no need for his company's SOA if he has enough funds in his personal account. The company papers will explain the source of funds.

Visit www.cic.gc.ca to get the processing time. This is a common question that can be answered directly from cic site. Best of luck

I have to add that it would be stupid not to work at all for 3 months in this country before school begins. You might as well just stay in Nigeria and come at the appropriate time. It can be expensive bruh!
That's why it is best if the student waits till lets say 30 days to resumption or if he thinks he has enough funds for upkeep until schools resumes without working. Working before schools resumes has its negative effect when its time to apply for post graduate work permit.
NB: He might not be as lucky as those who got theirs without any issue

Lol. why not? You can make half your fees sef if you're smart before school.
Not advisable for him to work before school resumes bro.

@Emeify how old is your child? As for if the applicant can apply from Nigeria once trv has been approved, YES HE/SHE CAN. The age of your child will determine if you need a study permit for him/her or trv.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mcobex:
@MightyGIE I will like to rest my case on "if a student can apply for trv and spousal work permit together from Nigeria" and let whoever is involve do what is in his/her mind.

pls I applied through paper route ND dey have requested for medical ND have done my medicals since April 5 now I want to know if dey would send a dispatch mail before collection mail please I need reply please cause am confused
You don't have to be confuse, just reply cic saying you have submitted your medical receipt, try and attach the receipt as well(I am sure it has been sent already by the clinic). As for the dispatch mail, just keep checking your cic account for update(hopefully approval > passport/trv collection)

Thanks Slik07
@Slik07 , So what qualifies the wife for Spousal? if the husband(principal applicant) still don't have any right to be in Canada at the time of applying?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mcobex: 10:07pm On May 09, 2018
MightyGIE:
I beg to differ. That isn't true information. You can apply for your study permit and spouse open work permit and trv for children at same time. Pls more experienced people should talk on this.
Which part don't you agree with? In the case of the children the applicant can only apply for trv for them if they fall within the age limit for free basic education in Canada but if they are above such age then you will have to apply for visiting for them. Regarding the spouse, you can only apply for spousal when your trv is secured.

I intend to start my visa application soon as I already have an offer from a Canadian school but the bsc transcript (covenant uni) that I have is water marked with a school (uni of stuttgart) that I wanted to apply to but didn't meet the deadline. Can I still use that copy as part of my application documents? Thank you
Using that watermark transcript is not a good idea. It is not a must you apply for trv with your transcript, make sure you include your certs and results and you are good to go.

Am 31yrs now and had my ssce since 2002

Will this not be a barrier to starting a bsc course in Canada?

Pls advise
So what have you been doing since 2002? If working then try and explain why you went to work since then and decide to study now. Also to stand a chance it will be better if your intended course is related to your present job/experience, cos it will go a long way to helping your case. With your age, it will be a little hard to convince the vo but not impossible. Just work on your SOP and make sure the intended program is related to your experience. BEST OF LUCK

You’ve answered yourself.
They told you to submit 4 months and you submitted 3 months. Later you will be saying “miracle” “miracle”

They gave you a clear instruction and you didn’t follow. I don’t know what you want us to say :|
Though he submitted 3 months soa instead of 4-6months but that is not an issue, as long as the soa is genuine, has enough fund and it is for the last three months. If cic isn't ok with the 3 month soa they will request for more.
NB: Though it is good to stick to cic requirement during application

I am sponsoring some, while my co-sponsor, my mum stated on the letter that she will be providing funds for any deficit that arises as shown on her statement, pension statement, landed property etc. My SOA can comfortably take care of my tuition. I just had plenty of monies tied out and couldn't mop up my funds so I had to use my mum to stand in as a co-sponsor. It's a one year masters in public health with a tuition of C$55k.
Besides, I have already submitted my application o. Is it possible to still add documents like an LOE to an already submitted application?
Ok, best of luck. Yes you can still add /send documents to cic after submission especially if you think they will increase your chances of getting approval. As for you LOE, its not a must as so many people have gotten approval even without submitting it. LOE is main for applicants who feel they have some explanation to do.

The account is very busy. Infact the statement was about 30pages. On the same soa, there is even a lump sum deposit if 2.4m in January.
Once you can explain the source or reason for the lump sum deposit you will be fine. Also, make sure you have enough funds in your account for the duration of your program(especially if you are sponsoring yourself), but if you have a sponsor then the sponsor can provide funds for the first year of the program then showhis source of funds and how he/she hope to provide funds for your subsequent years(i.e if your course is more than a year)

Pls I'd like to ask, what is this lump sum deposit about? If someone presents say 15m out of which 2.5m was a lump deposit which was made 3days before the application submission date, and then still presents a co-sponsor, mum, with letter stamped letter showing that applicant is her next of kin, who presents more than enough funds, in cash and assets to offset any funding deficits, whether or not the 2.5m deposit was made, is that considered a lump sum deposit?
If let say the highest amount that has entered your account at a go is #500k/month then all of a sudden #10million entered towards your application date, that is lump sum. The only way to make it pass is for you to explain the source of the money. If the huge amount is from your sponsor, you and your sponsor should state it in your SOP and LETTER OF SUPPORT respectively.

I submitted a 3 months bank statement instead of a 4 months bank statement as stated on their site. Although the accounts are well funded, I am hugely worried wether it will be a problem. Also, I have did upfront medicals, and I am very worried because I think it would have been much better if I had waited for the medical request mail. I just hope everything goes fine. I am really nervous about my application!
3 months soa isn't bad(though cic requested for 4-6months). As for the upfront medical you also don't have any problem as well, infact it will hasten the process for you

Pls house respond on this. Thanks
The ball is in your court, you have to look for a sponsor. The sponsor doesn't have to be related to you, if the sponsor isn't your mum, dad or sibling then they will have to show commitment by paying the money into your personal bank account or go further to pay your tuition fee, after that they will write a letter of support stating their reasons for sponsoring you

Hello everyone.

Please is it a MUST that medicals must be done before you get your TRV? I applied less than 2weeks already and i chose to wait till i'm requested to do the medicals, even though it may take longer, but really, i'm not in a rush. I believe there's still time.

Have there been exemptions? I just returned from Canada in March. Could that help too?

I also read someone's post of not hearing anything after 9weeks of application. These delays still happen or there could be a reason.

I'm already thinking two weeks is too long sef without hearing anything.LOL Maybe because i got my visiting visa in 2weeks.

Please your responses would be appreciated.

May God answer the desires of our hearts according to HIS will.
Medical is a must if you applied for study permit(intend studying in Canada for more than 6 months). Wait for cic to send your medical mail

Hello house,

Please I need advice, I am suppose to resume tomorrow and I am yet to receive a response from CIC. My eligibility is under review, medical passed, background check is under review. Please house what's the best thing to do at this point.
Has your application exceeded the current processing time? If yes, then contact cic immediately but if it hasn't then you just have to wait to hear from cic when they are ready. But as for your school, contact them NOW and let them know you are still waiting to hear from cic and hear what they will say. Most schools give students 14 days into resumption to resume so your school might do that for you but if they don't then you will have to defer your admission to the next available semester/session for your programme. Best of luck

Hello fam,

Pls pardon me if this question has been asked before.

In order to gain an oversea masters program, I have worked for close to 5yrs just to have enof funds.

Now am set to apply for MSc in Canada but realized I have 2.2 in mechanical engineering. Am considering going for BSc at age 31.

Pls what are my chances? I also read some whr about post graduate diploma. Is this a better option?
Will my age no be a deterrence to my quest?

Pls kindly advise a brother.
Where did you work for those 5 years? is it related to your BSc degree(mechanical)? if yes, then you should apply for masters.
People with 2.2 do get admitted for MSc programmes(with a strong letter of intent and research area)
Your age won't be a problem as long as you have a strong sop, but you stand a better chance going for MSc due to your experience
