Assuming he adopts the 50% DoD rule, which of course we know as a beginner won't be adhered to let's just work it for him with it. Meaning he has to fill in 2.4kwh after every use.

to damage too, but at least, the chances are lower given the same conditions.
the other items in the circuit are american and they handled the surge like it was nothing.

Mine is a 5kw 48v and days ago, it surged and showed me error 4 till date.
i started to think its my village people.
now there is lockdown, had to whip out a forgotten 12v inverter,
but the shit is a modified sine wave inverter and it gives me the annoying 'hummmmmmmmm' as if transformer dey inside my house.
cant run anything except light and dc fan, even sef, the changover time is worse, everywhere goes dark for like 2 secs
someone help me beg for the lockdown to be cancelled, so i can fix my lovely horsepower
have to replace the control board. i guess.

Please I just bought 2No 150ah inverter batteries (auction). I'd love to charge it on both solar and NEPA. Which should be my best bet(hybrid inverter). My expected load is five 30watts Fan.

I will also like to know how many hours my fans will work. Thanks

Madam Abigai should please keep cable lengths as short as possible and use at least the mininum spec'd cable sizes or better still go for an even thicker cable size and all should be well.

Absolutely, if I had the option I will still go for it. I have a rough idea of what may have been the cause of the issue I had with the inverter but I don't want to state it as it's not what I know for a fact, also because it's not what can be easily re-created. That said, I think I may go for the MK especially if I have a 48v set-up but for now so long as I can get clear LOS to my panels and if it's a 24v set-up it's GK.

@bolded is a very valid solution, from personal experience. And my SCCs did not fry when the BMS momentarily shut down charging then (happened a dozen of times before I could get the sweet spot of HVD setting on the SCC). This makes me to wonder that what the BMS probably does is to disconnect, thru it's internal circuitry, charging to the battery rather than disconnect the battery from the charging terminals. That way your SCC is not left vulnerable.

My SCCs are MakeSkyBlue and PowMr.

Thanks bro, when I actually set out to planning the new system I wanted to use an hybrid (I've never used it before) but was quick to realise it does not have the grid supply cut off functionality to the house. What I mean is my plan is to use grid and solar to charge my batteries while the batteries feed the house 24-7. With hybrid (same with inverters with charging function) when NEPA comes they cut off and supply NEPA to the house, I don't want that.

So I will be buying my equipment individually viz inverter, charger, MPPT. Also, my latest inverter that has served me 5yrs with no issue came without charger. So I feel they last longer if separated. But I will be ordering this charger you highlighted here. Hope I can use for both 24v and 48v systems.

Thanks for taking the time out to attend to me. All the batteries I bought for my new Lithium set up are used so to get hold of their spec sheet go hard oo. I have modules from Nissan Leaf, BYD & 38120 coming in. I know the operational voltages I want to set these at but presently don't know the charger amperage to be used. If you can advice on a charger to add to my cart I'll be grateful.

Surprised to hear there are CC that don't fry up when they have input but no output. This is my first time of hearing it as I've always tried to prevent such situations. Can you advise respected CC for Lithium too? Thanks once again.

HSE is very important.

Observe the simple rules, do not light up a match if you perceive leaking gas. The smell test can save lives.

Also, avoid placing gas cylinders near source of heat.

Buy genuine gas cylinder and gas regulator.

Don't fill up gas in shady plants.

Do not overfill your cylinder. I know awoof dey sweet but keep to the recommended gauge for your cylinder.


Lastly ensure adequate air circulation in areas where gas are kept.

I've used cooking gas since I was a toddler, I'm still here with zero wahala. Cooking gas are safe. Just obey the rules.

Good morning all, while I'm not new to inverters and solar this will be my first time venturing into Lithium batteries and its affiliates. I will be discussing my proposed new set up in a future post, presently all batteries are on transit into the country.
For now I will really like to pick your knowledge on 2 pertinent issues I still don't have resolved. Even YouTube is really not answering them for me.

1) What's the type of electrical charger I need to invest on for a 24v and 48v system. Most YouTube guys use MPPT to charge their set ups and the ones that manage to venture into electrical charging only mention DC to DC chargers or little amps chargers to build up their batteries.

2) I don't really understand much about the BMS or its need but what I want to ask is its disconnect function during charging. If it disconnects my MPPT from charging the batteries won't that spoil the CC? As those guys don't tolerate solar connection with nothing to discharge into. Also, can ePever (my present CC) be programmed to give same absorption and float charge? I learnt that technique on this forum.

Has anyone ever encountered a situation where you can't access YouTube or Facebook on Airtel network?

I have enough data but somehow, the aforementioned sites don't work for me once it's around 4pm.

If you encountered such please share how you resolved it.


P.S
I suspect this free data that they gave due to Corona lock down. I usually get notifications that I have exhausted my allocation for the day then the sites stop working even when my subscription is still running and I have enough data.
