This is so encouraging. My best friend I grew, studied with and worked with, who we always talked of leaving for Canada just left. That's when it hit me I must stop procrastinating. Hopefully this month I and my wife start the WES process. I have a good job with an iNGO, with the the whole UK government cuts to foreign aid I'll be out of work soon. My wife however works with a very good government agency and we don't know how she will leave that job yet honestly. We'll just apply for the WES and see what happens after.
Icing on the cake for me would be having my children in Canada.

Did you send a webform? what is their response? if it is Visit visa you should still be under processing time. It was 500 days early this year but has reduced to 303 days, so you might not hear from them pretty soon.

I understand they want to investigate the massive heist of appointment dates that happened this year. Appointments were selling as high as N600,000 per slot.

I booked genuinely in January and got August 20th or so then 2 weeks before my appointment they cancelled it. Meanwhile, people were paying 100k today to get dates for next week. Nigeria problem plenty sha.

2 ways that come to mind that could answer or match the statement " you already told us that you qualify for a COVID-19 exemption"
a. during your visitor visa application, you must have indicated "other-COVID-19" under your purpose of travel
b. you must have also informed IRCC through the "webform link/ email" informing them of how you qualify for the non-discretionary travel criteria.

Others can also chip in. check through previously attached link for more detailed info.

p.S your surest bet on any info put out here is to match it with info you find on IRCC website.

As long as she is married, have kids that are not traveling and yu have travelled extensively you will be issued the Visa. Dont bother so much about finances. It is only a big issue for people who do not have a reliable travel history.

I will not say your visa would not be approved but anything can go wrong and your chances are not that great based on the information you have provided.As it is having a zero amount disposable income and depending solely on your husband as an adult puts you under the section of a flight risk but depending on who’s desk your application goes to being that you have enough money from your husband you will still be granted visa.

Arguably 107k is not a whole lot but it is decent and there are teachers who earn 90k after tax in Abuja and still able to put away up to 20k as savings.For life emergencies and fear of the unknown you should have your own money.(No matter how small the amount is,is better than not having at all).

Consider adjusting your lifestyle to live within your means so you are able to show some savings no matter how small and therefore be more credible.

I advice you apply in February 2022 against Easter holiday in April when school is out for two weeks land add the following documents;

1. Consent letter/letter of sponsorship from your husband.Stating he is aware you are travelling for so and so date,he is sponsoring with so and so amount which was sent you on so and so date.(You need not include his statement).

2.Marriage certificate and 2/3 wedding photos.

3.Your salary account statement for Oct/Nov/Dec 2021 and January 2022 showing a disposable income of at least 10% i.e 10k.

4.Letter of introduction from your place of work identifying you,stating when you were employed,your position,remuneration and you are of good character and they can be contacted for any other information.(signed and on head paper).ID card if you have one.

5.AOP.

You can check AirBnB for accommodation. You cant relocate with a visit visa. Are you sure what you have is a genuine visa?

Unfortunately, good apartments are expensive, the inexpensive ones would probably be in not so nice ares and shared by many people mostly Indians. I have seen Indians looking for a room and their budget is $300 a month.

I'm new in Canada, I tried getting a room from Nigeria on kijiji but ended up getting nonsense, 9 people in an apartment mostly Indian guys. The house owner never told me we would be 9.

That is if OP managed to secure papers. If he has not, then living Abroad would have been hell for him by now unlike the fantasy he was living in when he just landed sometime in 2016. I suspect he left America and used the land border to arrive in Canada as so many did in 2016/2017. Many are still fighting cases to stay in Canada, if not that Canada pitied over 90,000 of them and gave them Permanent Residence via Covid pathway. I know someone that left Nigeria in 2013 went to America and then to Canada, if not for the pathway she was already set for deportation but was stalled by Covid and then the pathway gave her a lifeline. Imagine (2013-2021) just fighting for legal stay.

"Hubby and I got into Houston on Tuesday morning. Our PoE was Atlanta and we were interviewed by a black officer. He only asked what we were in the US for and we answered holiday. He asked why Texas and we said it's because it's relatively not as cold as other US States. During the visa interview in Lagos, we said we would be going to Florida, Orlando. He asked us about this change too and hubby said it's because we got a cheaper ticket to Texas, but we would still be going to Florida after two weeks in Texas. He also asked us about places we intend to see in Texas and hubby said we have not made up our minds yet as we would be resting in the hotel for most part of the first week. He asked about our places of work too. Then he took our fingerprints and asked a lady to take us to a waiting room.

After few minutes, my hubby was called away. He was interviewed by another officer for almost 20mins and that got me very scared; especially because I thought I was going to be interviewed alone too. But to God be the glory, hubby came back with our bag and said we were free to go with 6months stay stamped on our passports. I am about 25 weeks pregnant and not showing at all so we were not even asked anything about it"

My ex-husband has been in the US for about 6 years now and we have an eight year old daughter together. I would like to travel to the US with my daughter for holiday but I am confused about the information to put down when applying for my visa.

1. We are not formally divorced, only been separated for the six years he's been abroad.

2. His daughter bears his surname and has it on her international passport.

3. He has refused to tell me if he stated that he was married to me when he applied for his own visa. I also do not know if he is legally married to another woman in the US.

I know guys find a way around getting divorce certificates from here to the US so they can marry their "akata" or whoever would process their papers for them.

But I don't know if my ex did this before he got his "stay" in the US, because he's been visiting Naija regularly from the second year he travelled. He has also refused to own up to the exact thing he did.

4. What is the chance of applying for and getting the US visa as a single mother, especially as my daughter bears her father's name?

5. Would I need a consent letter from my ex to travel with his daughter if I eventually get the visa?

6. Is it possible not to mention him at all in my application and not be linked to him in any way?

7. Or should I just apply with the true information, attach my wedding certificate and pictures , and proofs that my ex abandoned our marriage six years ago without a proper divorce, has been in the US since then, and that we have no intention of ever getting back together?

The Netherlands have not been responding to their e-mail for a while I think you should go to the consulate. However, i think it is France that processes their visa.

Yes he is eligible to apply for 2 years however,it is common sense to assume that if the 6 months is refused then it is highly likely the 2years would be refused as well.It is not duration that matters,what he needs to work on is to rectify the reasons the ECO gave for refusal.

How did you speak to an agent cos it seems its all automated messages and prompt you get now.

U.S doesnt rely on Ghana, South Africa, Dubai as solid travel experience. You were traveling with you whole family and at this time in Nigeria. It will be pretty difficult with no solid ties to Nigeria.

Once your design is cosmopolitan in nature and you have reasonable access to getting materials from Nigeria, you will do well. Clothes generally have been in low demand due to lockdowns and lack of parties but with time the demand might surge back. Go for it!

Congratulations! Please, do not accept any discount from any hospital. See the trouble you went through.

The average medical for giving birth is always between $7,000- $15,000 with slight variances. Anything way cheaper than that is gaming the system and we shouldn't fall for that or partake in it.

I had my son at Oakbend Hospital 2018 and all bills were cleared with the zero balance letter issued . Fast-track to 2019, my husband was chosen as one of the Obama scholar to study at Colombia University NY and needed a J1 visa {That’s where my story began}

After presenting all payment and documents , tried again and was placed on administrative processing, afterwards , my expired visa was REVOKED[color=#990000].

I totally gave up ..........................
2020 .... Corona happened

2021 ....
We were able to get an appointment date for May after paying an agent 200,000 for both of us within 3weeks .

May 5th ... We were at the embassy , the VO didn’t ask lot of question..
- Asked my husband why we were visiting the US and what he does for a living
- Looked through his passport and continue typing
- Faced me, and ask what I do for a living
- Looked through my passport too and saw the REVOKED visa .
- Approved my husband’s visa and placed me on administrative processing because he need to know why the previous visa was REVOKED .
I explained in my ds-160 that their must have been a mistake because revoked was written with pen on my expired visa and the dates didn’t align .

Today , May 25th, my visa got APPROVED and passport is ready for pickup .

Will be having my second child at Houston but definitely not OAKBEND.
And will be declaring at the POE my intent to come give birth .

NB - At the embassy , I noticed lot of people were granted visa and they didn’t ask for any receipt if you gave birth in the US before .

Maybe the hotel was cancelled or the travel duration didn't rhyme with your travel history.

It takes a lot to travel this Covid period. They are seriously trying to stop people from Gallivanting. I actually wanted to go to France and then Netherlands and Germany. When i found out I have to do covid tests in all these countries and even the risk involved I just decided to stay in one place.
It's hectic travelling now. Even American Embassy cancelled most tourist visa interviews.

You can re-apply again but i would advise it shouldn't be immediate. It might be a signal of despearation. Are you married? you have kids behind?
