Politics › Re: Abdulrazaq Shifts Democracy Day Celebrations To June 14 by MetaPhysical: 1:22am On Jun 11, 2019
Governor AbdulRazaq should allow the June 12th celebration to go on. Its ok if Governor would be in Abuja. The day marks a very important milestone in the country's history. Therefore whether the Governor is there or not is irrelevant, the people must celebrate the day.

Particularly its important to Yorubas. It is acts lile this where Kwara steps out of concurrence with rest of Yorubaland that has made it difficult for them to be involved in Yoruba affairs. Their trust and alignmemt is always in question.

Are you with us or with North?
Politics › Re: Akeredolu: My Orderly Was Shaking When Kidnappers Confronted Us by MetaPhysical: 1:14am On Jun 11, 2019
ifunanyababe:
Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State, says his orderly became jittery when his convoy encountered a gang of kidnappers, boasting that he cannot be whisked away by the criminals. He admitted that travelling on Nigerian roads has become a major source of worry for the rich and the poor.

The Ondo governor stated this on Sunday night during a live broadcast programme aired on the government-owned Ondo State Radio-Vision Corporation (OSRC) in Akure, the state capital. "I have encountered them once and even as a governor with my crew, I remembered I had to tell my people to move on. My orderly was shaking. But I said wherever they (kidnappers) were, we would confront them," Akeredolu said. "There is no need to run away. On my way to Ibadan the last time, we saw them and we moved but the advantage is that by the time, we shoot into the air, they scampered into the bush. "Even if I walk they cannot kidnap me. I have passed the stage. Kidnapping is not limited to those poor people alone, and I agreed that those with convoys might be safe." The governor, who revealed that his convoy was almost attacked on the Ibadan-Akure road by the suspected kidnappers, stressed that he cannot be kidnapped because he rides in a convoy of armed security men.

On the increasing rate of kidnapping, Akeredolu said: "It is what happened to every other generation. There was a time armed robbery was very prevalent but that is fading away gradually. "It is becoming a fashion to go into kidnapping. I now know that traveling from here (Akure) to Ibadan is now a source of concern because people now go by rail. But you can go by air from Lagos to Akure and do your business; that is the advantage our government has created. This news first appeared on SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK

Im not sure Akeredolu was ever ready for governance. Its not every SAN that has the capacity to govern and Akeredolu is one of those.

I pity Ondo people. Your Governor does not fit in the political class of a Yoruba politician. This guy does not know how to talk politics at all. What a mess!

I see your point, but my whole idea is to give electricity 24/7 at a cheaper rate
If you like give it at free or nearly free rate, that is simply an investment decision. There is another aspect to power generation called "national security".

You will come under regulators. Thats why i said supervision and enforcement.
Its a mess!

Telecomms are regulated, they serve as example of another "national security utility" that is bad business for citizens.

We already have utilities that refuse to self-regulate. Government regulation is ineffective. At end of day consumer suffers. Everybody offers to help solve problem but once they enter market they abandon the goal.

Nobody is running to court. The court has oversight on laws. Legislature is where you make laws. So it is the court business to intervene, without any external body suggesting the need.

Nigerian politicians wont finish this country
The standing order of 2015 in reference was a controversial order believed to have been forged and smuggled into records by DSP Ekweremadu who also was an officer in the 7th Senate.

There was no entry of record under the Leadership of Senator David Mark in 7th Senate that a legitimate standing order existed beside that of 2011.

So which Senate passed standing order of 2015? Not passed by 7th and not passed by 8th but yet it became the document used to conduct the ballot that elected Saraki and Ekweremadu.

It was forged. It has been in court ever since. It is an illegitimate procedure to use in conducting the leadership election. Set it aside and use what was officially passed and legitimized by 7th Senate....the order of 2011!

APC is very mischievious. They should have done a follow up on the issue since 2015....they left it hanging deliberately because they calculated that a ruling such as the one now given by this court will result in their favor and their endorsed candidate a walkover in victory.
Politics › Re: Would The Govt Object If A Private Company Decides To Produce Power For Nigeria by MetaPhysical: 12:06am On Jun 11, 2019
It is impossible to have a private company produce power for the country without a very close supervision and enforcement. Our supervisory and accounting standards are ver poor and archaic, likewise we lack discipline to effect enforcement.

Power production is a strategic component of national security.

Therefore giving a private investor full license to produce power without proper controls in place will result in something similar to what we experience with telecomms. As a subscriber you will pay, with or without service....or get disconnected! You will pay even more to get reconnected.

engreo:
Security has been beefed up at the National Assembly as members-elect continue accreditation ahead of the inauguration of the 9th National Assembly on Tuesday.

All staff and visitors to the national assembly were critically checked before being allowed entry into the premises. Those who could not identify themselves properly were turned back.

Meanwhile, there is a presence of security operatives at strategic areas, while moving around designated areas for accreditation was limited.

Speaking to newsmen after his accreditation, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha from Taraba State, said the process was going on smoothly.

On why PDP is keeping quiet on who to endorse for senate presidency, he said, “there is dignity in silence and mischief in noise making”

Sen. Kabiru Gaya (APC-Kano) also said the accreditation was going on without hindrance.

Gaya, who is in the race for the position of Deputy President of the Senate, denied stepping down as insinuated in some quarters.

The national assembly is a beehive of activities as preparations for the inauguration were on top gear.

Activities ranging from erecting of a tent, renovation of structures and decoration are going on in mapped out areas to make the occasion colourful.

There is, however, heightened tension as people are seen in clusters discussing their expectations of the day.

While some believe that it might not be much of a drama as witnessed in 2015, others say there could be surprises following Senator Ali Ndume’s insistence to continue in the race and the long silence from the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

From the list released by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), there are 62 APC senators-elect, 44 PDP senators-elect and one Young Progressives Party (YPP) senator-elect, while two senatorial seats in Imo State are still outstanding.

http://saharareporters.com/2019/06/10/tight-security-national-assembly-ahead-inauguration-election-leaders
At 100% participation it would be impossible for PDP to pull 50% advantage and upturn APC endorsement.

Here is what i mean by that, 22 is 50% of PDP's 44 Senators. That number is what they need to match APC 62 and tie. The extra YPP could act as tie-breaker.

PDP cannt get 22 APC crossover, impossible!

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday expressed deep shock and sadness over the death of scores of people in the banditry attacks which occurred on Saturday in three communities in Rabah Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State.

The President, who was briefed about the incident and the arrests so far made by the Police, condoles with Governor Aminu Tambuwal and the people of the State over the tragic incident.

President Buhari strongly condemns all acts of violence and terrorism against innocent Nigerians, reiterating that perpetrators and sponsors of such dastardly acts would be held accountable under the law.The President prays for the quick recovery of all those injured and assures that his administration will not relent in the fight to neutralise terrorists, bandits and kidnappers around the country.

And now Seyi with a Niger deltan wife..... What's wrong with Ibadan women?
Yoruba electorate is the least conservative and most open to be ruled by a foreigner.

We miss certain cues which in a political setting are key flags to preservation and patriotism to fatherland.

Ondo Governor is married to foreigner, we voted him in.

Former Oyo Governor was married to foreigner, we voted him in. In fact their son is also married to a foreigner.

Current Oyo Governor is married to foreigner, we voted him in.

In Ogun State one of the contestants was said to be married to foreigner.

So when we vote in men married to foreigners we also accept their foreigner wives as First Ladies.

Are Yorubawomen not good enough for First Lady roles on their own land?

Why are we voting men with foreign wives, it is a rejection of our women. We should vote men married to Yoruba women into Government House and as well into our States House of Assemblies. We are very f00lish in our hyper-liberal approach of "live and let live".

Point to me a State anywhere outside Yorubaland where a Yoruba woman is First Lady.

@POLITICS NIGERIA

Politics Nigeria has been furnished with a Joint Statement from the Yoruba Youth Council and the Ohanaeze Youth Council, announcing their rejection of an alleged 'Fulanization Agenda'.

The Statement issued on Sunday was signed by the President,  Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, Aremo Oladotun Hassan and Okechukwu Isiguzoro, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide.

"We are deeply concerned with grave hearts of regrets as critical stakeholders being the largest umbrella body of youths in the Southwest and Southeast Geo-Political Zones of Nigeria and In Diaspora, coupled with our unending disappointments and gross abandonment with the Muhammadu Buhari's led Federal Government to have conspicuously allowed the dreaded ongoing Fulanization of Nigeria remain unmitigated, despite various mass condemnation of their terrorism atrocities, mass murder and genocidal war unleashed on innocent Nigerians in various communities across the nation, especially the recent wake of crises, killings, kidnapping and community invasion by the armed bandits, under the aegis of Fulani Herdsmen, ISIS, ISWA and Boko Haram terrorist group, despite the huge billions of dollars sunk into the terrorism war, without any corresponding success to tie to it till date."

"We have watched and observed with keen interest the audacious mentality and operational coherence of this dreaded groups across the nation, in view of the anti-masses propositions of the government ranging from the free grazing and cattle colony expedition to the recent donation of N100Billion support funds and Fulani radio launch, all this are pointers to the element of conspiracy theory definitely suspicious of the federal myth, consent and backings of this evil machinations."

"It is based on this premise we have address the issues differently as sectional issues, but with the simultaneous rising waves of communal invasions, rape and wanton massive destruction of lives and properties, resolving we are on the same page of agony, pains and tribulations, precipitating our unanimous resolution to present the following charter of demands:National Charter of Demands
1. We demand the immediate enactment of a new people's National and Regional Constitution(s) respectively.
2. We demand the immediate Establishment of the Southwest and Southeast Regional Development Commissions, to exclusively control and manage all mineral resources within their respective zones. The commission shall exclusively conduct monitoring /management of funds generated within the zones. Just like Dubai, Shangai etc.
3. We Demand the Establishment by All Southwest and Southeast Governors Forum (SWSEGF), to consolidate on the initiative of the South West-South East Joint Regional Security Networks(JRSN), wherein all our local vigilante and security organizations in both zones can be inculcated into the network.
4. We demand Immediate Establishment of Southwest- Southeast Educational Right Laws
5. We demand the Establishment of Southwest Southeast Trade and Commerce Development Council, inorder to foster our socio-economic integration and development.
6. We demand the implementation of the new Electoral Laws with a new caveat for INEC to conduct all Local Government Elections and ensure Diaspora voting simultaneously at the 2023 National Election.
7. We demand the establishment of the Southwest-Southeast Economic Integration and Development Summit Group by Governors and passed by their State Houses of Assembly of the both regions.
8. The Establishment of the Southwest-Southwest Peace Commission by Governors and passed by their State Houses of Assembly of the both regions.
9. The Establishment of Southwest-Southeast Obas and Chief Commission by Governors and passed by their State Houses of Assembly of the both regions.
10. The Establishment of Southwest-Southeast Sports Council by Governors and passed by their State Houses of Assembly of the both regions.
11. The conduct of A National/Regional/State/Local Government Census by 2020, while the Governors of each Southwest ans Southeast States conduct a Special iIdentification Data Program for their respective States indigenes.
12. We support the newly Federal Government endorsed Enyimba Economic City facilitated by Abia State Government( a replica of Dubai) for it's importance in Job creation for the teeming Unemployed Youths and Economic development of the South East and Urge that it should be replicated in the South West as Eko Economic City.

Any other resolutions ancillary to the aforementioned demands."In view of the aforementioned, we hereby resolved to raise and support a competent and credible presidential candidate in 2023 from the both region, and as means of ensuring stability and equitable federal character appointments and sharing of all national portfolios based on regional exigencies and importance, especially the ongoing 9th National Assembly elections of principal officers."

"We have emphatically spoken."

Traditional Rulers of Yorubaland have spoken and ordered SW Governers to convene and get back to them a draft recommendation. The Governors on their part have met and given DAWN the task to formulate a forward security policy.

Softcash:
Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, governor of Kwara state, says his administration is committed to fulfilling its campaign promises.

He said this during a meeting with top officials of the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARTMA), in Ilorin, the state capital, on Sunday.

The governor listed road construction and social infrastructure among his targets.

Abdulrazaq expressed concern over the poor state of roads, saying the contractors employed by the previous administration will not be sacked but told to quickly complete ongoing projects.

“I have resolved to work for the people, especially in road construction and other social infrastructure,” he said.

“The state works ministry will compile the list of roads that are in bad shape so that the government can work out funding options for their rehabilitation.

“The state of our roads (in Kwara) is disappointing. This is particularly true of Kwara north. There is no road, for instance, to Gwanara especially now that it is raining and yet the contractor handling it is collecting money.

“That was why the previous administration was stoned (in Gwanara), we don’t want to be stoned.

“Kwara people have woken up and if I don’t fix the roads, they will protest, so we will sit down with the contractors, we are not sacking them, we want to be proactive so they can do their jobs.”

You notice Reno Omokri, who resides in US and was always by Atiku side in UK, Dubai, was not present in the US visit. If he had attended or been seen with Atiku it would blow cover on his status as diplomatic observer and risked arrest.
