BlackManta: How many missionaries are in conservative Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia and Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan
Do you know they are remote islands with cannibals and barbarians that no missionary ever step foot on.
No matter how hopeful you try to be your gospel will never reach every corner of the earth.
If you were born a Muslim in Iraq, you would be a strong Muslim and will never give a damn about a Jewish guy called Jesus.
People don't choose which country's religion and culture they are born into....majority of Christians and Muslims are that way because of their birthplace and heritage....AND IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT.
What about your ancestors that worshipped African traditional gods and passed away before the missionaries came to Africa....will you blame them for not knowing Jesus and Muhammad
What we should do is find ways to promote peace unity and coexistence between people of different cultures and religions...not trying to outdo and dominate one another.
You get my point.
I'm not an atheist but I don't do religion and I don't identify with any religion at all. I get your point, but youre speaking from a place of bias. Nobody is blaming anybody for being born into a sinful state. Can you blame somebody for inheriting sickle cell disease? Or do you do your best to make sure you treat their illness? Its funny that you should mention Iraq, which has an indigenous Christian minority and which has a Muslim population that at least partially understands the significance of Christ. You dont have license to assume that Christianity cannot flourish anywhere, especially in Mesopotamia where so many biblical events took place in ancient times. Do you know that the areas of Assyria and Babylon are both located in Iraq? So who are you to say these cannot once again become relevant to God's kingdom Promoting peace and unity between different faiths is exactly what a practising Christian does. It is not mutually exclusive from preaching the gospel and that comment shows that youre speaking from a biased perspective, like I said before. You need to have vision. Trying to twist the aim of Christianity into an excuse to be cynical and bitter wont help you. |

Who told you that Jesus was sinless? The same guy that flogged merchants and called people vipers? I've already explained why it's the right source. You're taking those incidents out of context to suit your agenda. If you insist on seeing a problem, you will. That doesn't make the truth any less true. |

whitelotus: Yes. Being a pagan doesn't mean that one is bad.
However, I disagree with Jesus's blood being spilled for my sins. That even sounds like a pagan ritual of blood. Exactly! Even pagans know that sins need to be atoned for. That's why all over the world, humans come up with the idea of human and animal sacrifice to appease an "angry" deity without even encountering a single Christian. They are searching for redemption from sin, but from the wrong source. The difference is that Jesus' blood is the only lasting solution because He was sinless. So His sacrifice covers every single sin that could ever be committed. That's why people need to accept it. Not because they're evil or stupid, but because they need to be redeemed by His perfection. |

People existed over 5,000 years before Jesus came to earth. If he is the only way, what was the fate of those people who never even got to know him? The righteous among them will go to Heaven, since Jesus' death had not yet come to pass. |

I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue. You are not serious at all. How will prayer solve the issue of you drinking your stomach into oblivion? I dont see how its Gods fault you refused to stop destroying your stomach when you already knew what the problem was and what you needed to do to stop it. |

You need to learn how to study a text in context. You dont just pick out random verses and compare them and expect them to still make sense to you.
People study theology for years to be able to preach the Bible with wisdom and youre here plucking random verses out of thin air and talking of atheism smh |

I will want my kids to have the kinda education I never had.
Limit child birth & you will do much more. While I understand your sentiment, I think you are being too militant about it. Everybody must not have your own exact aspiration for their kids before they will have done well. Being able to provide food, shelter and education is no small achievement and shouldnt be derided. The problem is that not enough people can even reach that milestone. The person you quoted did not suggest that he would be careless with his wards' education in his comment; moreover a basic education for more people is what we need to improve literacy, productivity and quality of life and not everybody attending amazing private schools. 1-3 children that can be reasonably accommodated for by most parents is what we should be aiming for and not forcing our own ideas or big dreams on everybody. Its beginning to sound patronising. |

Obi1kenobi: Except Khan is an atheist, there are limits to "assimilation". Jews have lived in Europe and the West for hundreds to thousands of years and maintained a distinct ethno-religious identity. Nobody expects Orthodox Jews to erect Christmas trees in their houses during Christmas. There was nothing "accusatory" cos I didn't accuse Khan of anything. I said his actions are strange for a high profile Muslim and showed why his peer Muslims would find his actions anathema to their culture and obligations. This is not a consequential argument so I'm pretty much wasting my time here. Yes, you are definitely wasting your time if you can't understand that an orthodox Jew whose very existence is totally anathema to anything concerning the birth of Christ is totally different from a second generation Sufi Muslim lmao have a wonderful day Sir |

Khaleell001: Hello auntie, caught you here again. And it also happens we are also having divergent views here.
For me, number of kids one has does not determine the permanence of their poverty level as some of you think. There are so many dynamics knew can consider before saying something is certain. The factors you base your arguments on are not permanent but dynamic both individually and collectively.
Life itself is never and was never mean to be easy. Uncle you are not making sense, please. The constant factor here is the word "average" as in "average Nigerian couple". With a fixed income bracket. So statistically speaking, I mean with cold, hard numbers: Is it more expensive to basically feed and clothe 2, 3 or 4 children? And logically speaking, do you need a larger house to shelter 2,3 or 4 children? Do you need to spend more money on electricity to provide for 2,3 or 4 children? How much water do 2,3 or 4 children need to use? Thats just material consideration o. Not counting the knock-on effect of your stresses and struggles on the childs emotional and psychological health. Stop bringing out tired platitudes like "life was never meant to be easy" and "God is the provider of children" and stare the facts boldly in the face. |

Deicide: I think the op is forgetting something that the system is not made for the poor, people don't give birth to more children because they can, they do so because of security reasons. if you check most third world country, poor people mostly give birth to more children at least if one dies you wouldn't worry much, rich people have the money for security so they hardly give birth to more children, you could see this fact in first world country where the system works well, despite being rich would hardly give birth to more than three. Logically @Op your point might make sense Logically but economically it doesn't, if the system works for the poor, they wouldn't have to worry about security thereby giving birth to fewer children. Exactly. This is the first lesson of human geography. People give birth to excess children to have more employees for their farm and as security against the future. If they had less to worry about (disease, famine, insecurity) the rate of childbirth would naturally decrease. This is the difference between the first and third worlds |

Obi1kenobi: You seem to be missing my point entirely. I'm not a Muslim. I'm not a Muslim defender. I grew up Catholic, but I'm agnostic and consider all religions a waste of time. I'm not questioning his rights or freedom to do whatever the hell he wants. On the contrary, I'd even be supportive if he denounces his religion. I'm simply showing the way Khan's actions are perceived by his own community of Muslims and Pakistanis and why he is criticized for it: something you're pretending is difficult to understand. Nah, youre missing the point yourself. You stated that a Muslim decorating his house for Christmas is "very strange" and I simply outlined all the reasons why it is far from that, given the context. You said that "being English doesnt stop him from being a Muslim" without acknowledging the fact that being a Muslim equally doesnt necessarily stop him from being English! The issue of cultural assimilation doesnt go away just because its not convenient for your argument. The language you used was accusatory in tone. Of course it is not surprising that some people would find his actions offensive but you went off the point talking about blasphemy and idolatry in a bid to justify their offence, which was not necessary. If youre not a Muslim defender then what was the essence of saying all that? Now, youre saying its "something [I'm] pretending is difficult to understand" when the point was not that they were offended; the point was you talking about "crossing lines" and using language suggesting that he was culpable on the sole basis of being a Muslim celebrating a "Christian" festival when such is not the case. |

Islam needs to have a massive revamp to reflect modern 21st century life. Nobody would mind wearing abaya and snapping with you people on Eid day at all. Even wearing hijab is not a problem if the person is comfortable with it. And their fellow Christians wouldnt be bothered about it either. Wrapping a scarf around your head for 1 day is not going to do anybody anything. Somebody who was born and brought up in a secular Christian country should suddenly abandon his childhood memories and enjoyment because hes scared of you people lol very ridiculous. Even on a normal day a Christian southerner brought up in the north likes to wander around wearing boubou and hijab, jabbering away in Hausa language. Who cares?!
