These two apologists conclusions are hazy. I have discussed this topic with you before. I was researching into end times myself. I gathered books on religion: Islam and Christianity, psychics, like Nostradamus Mitchell, Edgar Cayce, Mummy Simpsons, Catholic Bishop Malachy, and science as many sources of references and JWs book on prophecy of Daniel as a pilot for Christian religion apart from Lindsay brothers and few others. Internet also and history texts. Then scientific view about the fate of the earth. I just did independent studies spanning months. Then, there were discrepancies in names and times of rulers and times in the Prophecy of Daniel and professional historical chronology. As I continued to search, I stumbled on two sceptics from Jws: Carl Olof Jonsson and Franz whose book was reviewed by the first person.

My discovery from others are not relevant here. That of Jws and dates is the topic. The first one didn't do justice to the topic. He only explained or drew his conclusions from about first two to five chapters of the book. The other book, 'Time of Gentiles Reconsidered' Hy Carl Olof Jonsson is more researched, carefully researched and organized. In it he had to engage one professor Furuli, the leading chronicler of watchtower. Although, the man, Furuli, was an expert in Assyrian language, he was not an historian. He misled the organization.
Anyway all these three were later disfellowshiped for their works. I think Furuli realized his error and joined force with the other two.

Every religious group has it's dogma but that doesn't make it right.

You know, I am a Christian, I consider myself one, and I am. I try to analyze things myself no matter who teach them. I am a pentecostal, I believe it is safe for me. I read wide inspite of that and draw my own conclusions.

I feel that 1914 and all it's appendages are not right. I don't quite agree with it.

Unfortunately, Islamic Taqqiya will not allow you to see that Qur'an 19:33 conflict with your Islamic eschatology wit respect to Jesus.

The problem with our economy in my opinion (corruption aside, which is a serious issue mind you)..is that our economy is based on the price of whatever we are selling. IN the 1960's it was agric and solid minerals...then from the 1970's oil took over and remained our main source of income.

Problem is, we do not set the prices. ANd the solutuion is that we use what we have to make things the world can use.

Tinubu has really not done much. WHat he has done is had his hand forced by the fact that at the start of his regime, debt service was eating up most of the avaialble revenue, once subsides for petrol and the dollar had been paid. He had to cut subsides (he has not removed subsides) to get more money. Yes, nice...like IMF even suggested.

But lipstick on a pig does not make it a beautiful woman. (It may improve the pig's looks a bit, but it is still a pig).

At the end, we still are not earning enough money, and cutting subsides can only go so far. APC , Tinubu's party promised that diversification would happen when they took over in 2015. At the end, they did not diversify, and TInubu has not yet outlined how he would diversify the economy. Then there is the low revenue from tax. Improving both things means harsh economic polices for the next decade...and APC wants to win elections...so at the end, they won't take the hard decisions needed.

We have to earn more money, and we can do that by being a exporter of manufactured goods and servicies, having a decent tax income and also having a proper anti-corruption effort, and cutting government costs.

The talk by the Spanish JW is not saying that the 1914 doctrine has been abandoned. JWs doctrinal system attach specific meaning to phrases or words. The speaker is saying that Jesus coming in his "Glorious Throne'" aspect in Matt 24 has been recently clarified. They have done that prior to this year. I can't recall the year this happened now, but it was like 2013 or thereabout that they made that change.

But on Jesus being a king in 1914 is still intact.

Jesus coming in his glorious throne' is now understood to be his judgment appearance during the Great Tribulation. Previously all these terms referred to 1914, but they recently shifted that aspect to GTrib. But his being king of God's kingdom is still in 1914.

The JW still wrongly think Jesus presence began in 1914. The appointed times of the nations still ends in 1914. That appointed time is what gave rise to the calculation that landed them to 1914. That 1914 is still the start of the Lord's day.

Many did misunderstand that speakers point.

Of course they may change the 1914 in the future. That will be a huge change. It will have huge implications if they change it. That doctrine do make them look unintelligent. It is a nonsense of a doctrine. I have written on that in one of my Ministry series on this board.

The 1914 idea is on wrong interpretation of vision Nebuchadnezzar. It whole thing doesn't make any scriptural or historical sense.
