Counsel to The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Olalekan Ojo has faulted some important aspects of the COREN/NBRIRI investigative report submitted to the coroner by Engineer Victor O. Oyenuga who also doubles as witness representing both professional bodies.

Meanwhile Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe has adjourned hearing to Friday, March 20, when the Chief Pathologist to the state and Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Professor John Obafunwa, is expected to conclude his testimony.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday evening boasted that he could provide uninterrupted power supply to Lagos residents between six and eight months.

Fashola spoke at the commissioning of 8.5 megawatts Lekki Independent Power Project (IPP), the fifth of such power projects in the last five years in the state.

The governor said the addition of the Lekki IPP was a testament to the fact that stable power does not require rocket science to achieve in the country.

While challenging power distribution companies in the state, Fashola said, “Let the Eko DISCOs sign a contract with me, giving part of their concessioning to the state government, in about six to eight months, there will be power in all homes in Lagos State,” Fashola said.

He added, “So, let no one say that he has no money to deliver power for the entire country. This is the limit to which the law allows us to do, but we have done this to make a statement that power can be generated. So, when they come with lies that power is impossible, you can tell them that we have power here; we make it possible”.

The project, courtesy of the state government, in partnership with Heritage Bank, is to serve Lagos State Water Corporations in Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, as well as over 25km of public lightening in the Lekki axis.

Commissioning the project, Fashola said he felt fulfilled with the conduct of youths that delivered the project, despite the difficulties in getting to the finishing point.

He said it also showed that the money to improve the Nigerian economy is here, “since we don’t need the World Bank to come and do this for us.”

Also, General Manager, Lagos State Electricity Board, Damilola Ogunbiyi, said the state had shown that reliable and sustainable power projects are possible through the youths.

Ogunbiyi said though it had been a successful story, the state was just scratching the surface in its “aggressive development plan” in the area of power.

Promoter of the project, Faruk Agoro noted that the new IPP was an innovative idea of world-class natural gas-fired power generating facility, sold to the government by youths and it was bought into, to support government institutions, especially in the area of water supply and security.

The Lekki IPP is 8.5 megawatts, with the capacity for 30 megawatts.

This brings the Lagos IPPS to a total of 47 megawatts of electricity in total, powering several public institutions around the state.

The generated megawatts is however still a far cry from the over 10, 000 megawatts power deficit in the state.

On his part, the State Commissioner in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Taofeek Tijani, said the new addition was about continuity in public infrastructure programme of the state government

In saner countries, when a plane crashes, its not natural but an event that its cause must be investigated.

No building should collapse. If it does, its not natural but an event that has a cause which must be investigated. A building collapse has a cause it must be found. Lagos cannot and will never be rrsponsible for a privately owned collapsed building. The people responsible are the owner, the designer and the contractor. Thata how its done. One of them is responsible for the collapse.

Even if a military plane strangely comes around to hover on top of the building 4 times within 10 minutes and probably attacks and collapses the building?

To answer your question, i wont be happy as an engineer to have any kind of failure whether design or material. People cannot lie on a project like that if every requirement is met. Infact, if everything were ok with the building it would not have collasped without an external force. The problem may have been right from design, who knows, but certainly there was a problem with the building in my professional perspective.

Concerning the paragraph i quoted, the writer said and i quoted that the state lab consultanting engineer said the building collapsed because foundation defects. The writer of this article is wrong to believe that by saying "inspite the foundation still standing" it has no defect. Me, i could agree with the engineer if i have his facts but the writer is plain wrong because a standing foundation after superstructure collapse is no proof that the foundation is good, hence my comment.

See, i have read the article and do not know who to beleive. The only thing i dont agree with is the insinuation by the writer contained in that paragraph.

If someone said a building collapsed because of poor foundation, then I will insist that they show me the defects in the foundation....it is SIMPLE.
If the foundation has no structural defects and its integrity is still intact, then it cannot be said that the building collapsed because of poor foundation!

The quoted paragraph has a conclusion that is very wrong. As an engineer, i can say authoritatively that when a foundation has a fault, the foundation itself may not fail buy the superstructure it carries fail due to unaccounted stresses and strains. It is the same reason that a crack on a building wall may be absent on the foundation but very pronounced at the top.

So as an engineer you would be okay if the superstructure of what you built fail and turn into rubbles, with no single pillar or column or beam remaining, even after all tests by technical experts and Standards Organizations of Nigeria (SON) have certified the quality of materials, their compositions/combination and application!
Would you be okay if people say your work was structurally defective without any scientific basis or proof from any investigations?
If people lied that your building collapsed because you built more floors than the foundation can carry, what evidence would you ask for?

It is now coming out clearly that neither was the State Governor and his team deterred from any rescue mission at the heat of the accident nor was the subsequent soil-test report as tendered by the State Engineer, the true reflection of the scientific analysis by the experts who researched the site.

In what seems to be an orchestrated bid by some public servants to put the blame for the accident on the good prophet, Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, the Lagos State Governor had come to the headquarters of the organization firing on all cylinders at the founder during the heat of the accident.

The Lagos State Governor, Hon. Fashola, had gone as far as inferring that the founder and his lieutenants deterred the Lagos State emergency team from saving lives. Rather, it has adequately been proven that instead of marshalling or superintending any rescue team, the Governor and his men found it convenient to be in the public eye by granting interviews to the media personnel who had arrived at the accident scene.

It would be recalled also that a consultant to the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, Engineer Ariyori Saheed had on Wednesday 4th of March told the coroner that The Synagogue, Church of All Nations building collapsed due to defects in the foundation. This was in spite of the fact that the foundation columns are still standing very firm and erect even as of this moment.

While undergoing cross-examination by counsel to The SCOAN, Olalekan Ojo, the structural engineer could not give any cogent reasons for the discrepancies in the documents which he tendered to the coroner as sub-soil investigation report.

Admitting that there are discrepancies in the documents he submitted to the coroner at the hearing, the engineer also confessed that he did not participate in the laboratory investigation that produced the report. According to him, he only authored the report based on what he had read. He also admitted that he prepared his report overnight due to the urgency of the matter.

Stating that the discrepancies have compromised the integrity of the engineer’s earlier submission, counsel to The SCOAN, Olalekan Ojo told Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe that he suspected an ulterior motive on the part of the state counsel and witness and thereby called for fairness to be applied in the entire process.

Even the counsel to the Lagos State government, Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran agreed to the existence of inconsistencies and urged the coroner to grant them enough time to study the documents properly before addressing the issues raised.

Counsel to the SCOAN argued that it was unfair for the structural engineer to make a categorical statement on the collapse of the building with conflicting documents which he relied upon to arrive at his conclusions. The SCOAN counsel therefore challenged the veracity of Engineer Ariyori’s claim that the building collapsed due to defects in the foundation.

Earlier, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had claimed that SCOAN did not allow them to save lives during rescue operation.

But CCTV footage presented to the coroner’s court by the organization’s Chief Security Officer showed that NEMA and LASEMA were not hindered by SCOAN from doing their statutory assignment; instead, they came to the accident site ill-equipped and immediately went about conducting interviews while victims remained trapped under the rubbles.

Meanwhile, nauseated by the deliberate mud-slinging of the Man of God by the public officials, a host of Nollywood stars have expressed their solidarity with Prophet T.B Joshua who they said has been like a father to them and a role model worth celebrating.
At last weekend sitting, hundreds of Nollywood celebrities invaded the court premises from as early as 8am. Some of these popular actors included Wale Adebayo, widely known as Sango, Bayo Bankole called Boy Alinco, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Elesho and Shitta-Bay amongst others.

The consultant engineer, Mr. Oladele Ogundeji, who supervised the construction of the collapsed six-storey guesthouse belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), yesterday, told the Coroner’s Inquest investigating the incident that the collapse was not due to structural defects.
Ogundeji, a structural building engineer also told the inquest presided over by Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe that the foundation of the collapsed guesthouse was built to standard with 28 columns.

The Lagos State Government inaugurated the Coroner’s inquest under the state Coroner’s System Law No.7 of 2007 to investigate the cause and circumstances resulting in the death of 166 people following the building collapse and bring its findings and recommendations to the appropriate authorities.

The witness, who was led in evidence by SCOAN's counsel, Mr. Olalekan Ojo, also confirmed to the court that he supervised Hardrock Construction and Engineering Ltd, the firm, which handled the project.

According to Ogundeji, the direction and the speed of the fall of the building were not consistent with structural failure.

He said a soil test was conducted by a geo-technical engineer, which informed the design used for the building.

He explained that the building was constructed in two phases beginning from July 2008 and was completed in September 2013.

"I will not agree that the collapse was caused by structural defect. If it was a structural defect the collapse will be gradual. There will be cracks visible even to a layman.

"When I watched the CCTV footage, everything came down within four seconds. Speaking sincerely, I believe that it must have been induced scientifically but I don't know the means," he added.

The witness said after the collapse, the Lagos State Material Testing Agency came to the site and took samples of the materials for laboratory test.
He said the concrete, reinforcement and columns all passed the test in the Structural Integrity Report released by the agency.

"According to the drawing and based on the geotechnical reports, the foundations were okay. This project is a technological cause, it can be verified.

"Now, when we were working on site, we did not envisage that something like this would happen but after the collapse, an agency of the state, the Lagos State Material Testing Agency came to the site, they instructed that three bases should be excavated, they took some samples and carried out laboratory tests. They came out with the result; the concrete pad footing passed the test, the re-enforcement passed the test and the columns passed the test. Apart from this, the foundation on site that the six-storey building stood upon are still there, they are intact, no rotation and no tilting," Ogundeji explained.


He also tendered before the court the structural and architectural designs of the collapsed building, which were admitted as exhibit.


The matter was adjourned till March 2 for further hearing.

What about thousands of students who lost their admission for 3 years because they could not afford the crazy and stupid increment in the tuition fee in a school like LASU? Will the foolish government reinstate them and give them automatic admissions now?

Truly, this government is daft. You don't display this kind of armoury in the streets. You airlIft them using military aircrafts. Don't we have any aircraft to lift these things?

If he really cares for the poor masses of Lagos, then why didn't he buy more buses to ameliorate the suffering of the people immediately after Okada were banned from most highways in Lagos? That would have demonstrated that cares about the cries of the people. But he did not nothing and allowed poor people to suffer and wait endlessly at bus stops.

Now that his govt is leaving in less than 3 months and they are looking for votes, he has suddenly realized that he needs to buy more buses. Same way they reduced LASU fees after denying poor candidates admission for 3 years.

Synagogue: Coroner admits building plan as exhibit

Ikeja—A Lagos State Coroner’s Court investigating the collapsed building of the Synagogue Church of All Nations yesterday admitted the plan of the building and other adjoining structures as exhibits.

Mr Bisi Adedire, a town planner and witness of the church, tendered the building plan to the inquest presided over by Mr Oyetade Komolafe.

The inquest was instituted under the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law No. 7 of 2007, for the purpose of unravelling the cause of the incident.

One hundred and sixteen persons were killed in the incident which happened on Sept.12.
Adedire, led in evidence by Mr Olalekan Ojo, the counsel to the church, said that the church was still processing the building approval when it collapsed.

[b]He said that the church had paid over N20 million to the Lagos State Government for processing of the approval.

The witness said that the alleged non-approval of the building could not have been responsible for its collapse.

“An approval can be secured even, for a building that is already in existence.


“Whether a building got approval or not, what determines its strength is the way in which materials used on the building were applied,” Adedire said.

Also testifying, Mr Rafiq Arogunjo, a Deputy General Manager, Air Traffic Control, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, confirmed that the CH 130 Hercules belonging to the Nigerian Air Force hovered over the church.
Arogunjo, however, maintained that NAMA carried out a scientific analysis of the distance between the collapsed building and the aircraft, which showed that it flew over 1,100 feet.
According to him, we observed that the pilot maintained 1,100 feet at all material times during the training operation.

There is no way I would have known the intention of the pilot on the day of the incident.
“I can also confirm that the flight plan was submitted to me, but cannot remember the name of the pilot that flew the aircraft on the day of the incident.

“I don’t also know what the aircraft was carrying that day, and the identity of those in the aircraft is not known to me.

“I have no knowledge of the gadgets on board the flight and I don’t know the use with which the flight was deployed on the day under review.

“The aircraft is designed for military operations to the best of my knowledge, but I don’t know if the intention of the aircraft was to hit any target.

“I have heard about an aircraft on a sabotage mission release invisible substance on a target lased with explosive devices with the aim of bombing a target.
“I cannot confirm if the aircraft had such a substance and we did not lose sight on radar of the aircraft on the day of the incident,” he said.

The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) on Monday urged the Federal and Lagos State Governments to investigate and account for the identities of the helicopter and strange plane which flew low over the collapsed building at Synagogue church four times within 24 minutes.

In a statement issued and signed by the National President and National Treasurer, Comrade Sunny Enenuvwedia and Deji Adebowale, the Committee further urged the Federal and state governments to also find out the mission and those responsible for the helicopter and plane.
The helicopter and plane were said to have flew low over the synagogue hotel and minutes after that, the building crumpled.

According to the CDHR, if FG and the governments fail to embark on investigation, it will, “call on the African Union and the United Nations to as a matter of urgency compel the Federal government to do so.”
The statement read that consequent upon it findings on the cause of the tragedy that befell the country and others foreign countries, “we deem it necessary to demand that the Lagos State Government should conduct investigation into the structural cause (if any) of the collapse of the building as a matter of urgency.

“That the Federal Government of Nigeria should, within 48 hours, account for the identities of the helicopter and the strange plane which flew low over the building four times within 24 minutes. The authority of the Synagogue Church of All Nations should cooperate with appropriate authorities to get to the root cause of the unfortunate incident and that every person and institution in Nigeria should be more security conscious.”

Speaking to newsmen while inspecting the site of the collapsed building, Comrade Enenuvwedia wondered why the presidential committee set up to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident is yet to release a report. He observed that the essence of the solidarity rally is to ensure that justice is done bearing in mind the international implications of the incident which claimed the lives of foreign nationals.
“Why has it taken the government so long to unravel what happened here,” Enenuvwedia questioned. “Even though I am a layman, I know these foundations are very solid,” he said, standing before the huge foundations of the collapsed building.

“All we are hearing is let the man of God come to court,” he continued. “For what? What is the reason for that? Is it not the building that collapsed? We don’t believe in ethnicity or politicizing issues. We have to attend to issues the way they are. They should allow the man of God to remain where he is and do the work God has assigned to him. Enough of humiliating TB Joshua – CDHR will not stand and see that happen. We will continue to fight for the rights of all Nigerians. We have demanded that the government release this report within two weeks. Let the whole world know the reason for this action.”

The group circulated flyers that questioned many issues pertaining to the collapsed building. For instance, the flyer carried the following questions: who owns the plane that crossed over The Synagogue building several times? Who is the pilot of the plane? Why is the Federal Government quiet about what happened?

According to the statement, “In view of the ramification of this event, the CDHR has set up a committee to follow up on the above demands and fully investigate the entirety of the incident and produce a full report later.”
CDHR noted that immediately after the incident, it has commenced investigation into the incident by contacting its members living in the area and have received information from them as to their account and observations of what happened on the day.
“We also visited the site of the collapsed building and interviewed some resident of the Church. We also viewed a CCTV record of the situation of the environment before and up to the time of the collapse of the building.”

It also observed from the findings that the compound of the Synagogue Church of All Nations housing the collapsed is located on Segun Irefin Street, Ikotun-Egbe, Nigeria on Latitude 6.54679N and Longitude 3.27261E.”
It further states that the location is far from any approach to the Ikeja or any airport in Lagos hence it was abnormal for any plane to head for the location at all.
Every plane approaching the Ikeja Airport to land always approach from the direction of Ijoko-Sango-Ota axis. Even planes that have not been given permission to land by the control tower of the airport in Ikeja always hover above the Papa-Lanto road and the Redemption Camp on Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
Such planes have never been known to hover around the Ikotun-Egbe area based on the fact that the location is far from the approach to the Ikeja Airport said the statement.

“The mission of the helicopter to the residence of Pastor T. B. Joshua, around 8am is very suspicious and it appears it was there to confirm the location of his residence for unknown reasons and the mission of the strange plane that flew and circled the collapsed building four times within 24 minutes also is very suspicious and is a cause for concern.”
It emphasised, “We know that only the Federal Ministry of Aviation and the Nigerian Air Force has the authority to permit any kind of plane to fly over any part of the Nigerian Airspace for whatever purpose hence only the Federal Government can account for the identity and mission of both the helicopter and the plane.

“The collapse of the building has resulted in the violation of the rights to life, privacy and property of the victims and the Church, hence we believe such terrible incident should never be allowed to pass without proper investigation to ascertain those responsible for the incident as the true cause is still in the realm of conjecture”.

Whether you believe it or not, this is not one of those criticisms of men of God going on everywhere. I wish it were but unfortunately it is the truth. I worked with Christ Embassy for some time to the extent I almost became a pastor then I left.

I am not saying this because of the miracles, the devil can also perform miracles.

PASTOR CHRIS IS OPERATING WITH THE TSUMANEE SPIRIT. This spirit is able to deceive even the elect, i.e. believers. Matthew 24 vs.24. T b Joshua is operating with the jumani spirit. The jumani spirit is stronger and more suspicious and easily decerned than the tsumanee spirit.

This is what the tsumanee spirit does; it is powerful but can only be conquered by the blood of Jesus, the anointing oil and through deliverance. You can play with the name of Jesus but you cannot play with the blood of Jesus.
So PST Chris preaches against the blood as not being very useful now. He also preaches against deliverance and the use of the anointing oil.

He preaches that once you are saved you are good to go to heaven. So take a look at Christ embassy members most of them are still wallowing in sin. The few that are not involved in it stay a while in the church, then they become uncomfortable and leave. Speaking in tongues does not mean you are heaven bound. In case you don’t know there are demonic tongues also.

His church is the most sinful, some of his members cut corners to get money and use that money to sow seeds. Without Holiness you cannot see God. We are all working towards perfection but Pastor Chris is not preaching the whole truth. All this is a cover up.

The CEC members know the secret that is why they are occupying influential position in the church. It would also shock you to know that many Christ Embassy members don’t read their bibles they read rhapsody and speak in tongues.

So He started to preach against the name PENTECOSTAL. He is just using psychology but His end is near. Does He know more than Bishop Oyedepo, pastor Ayo, Pastor Adeboye and many pastors in the PFN. He is on His own because of His evil.

No other Pastor mounts Christ Embassy pulpit other than a Christ Embassy member because if that happens the Tsumanee spirit will be exposed. He is not free because He is not genuine. Flee from Christ Embassy it is actually Satan’s embassy.

This is a candid advice because I was once a member but I ran away when I saw things for my self. The tsumanee spirit is even stronger than the Anti Christ.

In Christ Embassy you are compelled to give, and made to go the extra mile to cut corners or even borrow just to meet up to the standard. Not knowing that we are not all on the same capacity. The bible said a widow gave 2 mites and Jesus said she gave the greatest.

These are the people and their ministries that misled the public into believing that TB Joshua was a demon and an-anti-Christ! Just like the Pharisees said Jesus was using the spirit of Belzebub (a demon).

Okonjo Iwaela is an overrated economist. All her economic policies makes me to question the kind of training that she received in Havard. I wonder whether her Phd was really earned or it is just another Chieftancy title (Like her Oga). She's a flop, though Soludo also flopped as CBN boss. Ngozi is overrated because we Nigerians are mediocre in thinking! Just because somebody works as ad administrator in the World Bank, we/they think she is an expert in economic management. Her incompetence in Economics was exposed during the debate on the fuel subsidy debate. Sanusi was the only intellectual amongst all of them.

Interestingly, Soludo did not say anything against how Ngozi mismanaged the economy during Obasanjos era when Soludo himself was CBN governor.....this is why I refuse to take him, Oby, El-Rufai etc serious.
