Babatope has become one of the sycophants in PDP. They could not muster the courage to tell Jonathan the truth when he denied the North the benefit of the zoning formula after Yar'dua died.
Now, they are going back to the North after they have lost woefully!

Foolish talk!
South African companies have invested heavily in Nigeria, creating good jobs for Nigerians. You cant compare Nigerians' petty and sole proprietor businesses in SA with South African multinational companies in Nigeria. MTN, Shoprite and other SA businesses employ tens of thousands of Nigerians in Nigeria.
How many S. Africans are employed by Nigerian businesses in S Africa?
You have to think even when you are angry!
Foreign Affairs › Re: South Africans Attack Nigerians -VANGUARD by mikeapollo:
The Xenophobic attacks against Africans in South Africa is very unfortunate. It is very sad that South Africans can attack citizens of Mozambique. Mozambique is one of the countries that accommodated ANC freedom fighters during apartheid and even gave passports to South Africans and shielded them from the white oppressors. Too sad

But apart from the xenophobic attacks, we Nigerians have become an unwelcomed bunch of people in almost every country around the world
No country will give Nigerians due respect because of the way we pollute other countries with our vices, attitude and behavior!
We are now a huge nuisance in many countries because how some of us indulge in despicable activities like 419, drug, robbery, cyber crime etc. Nigerians are even known for drug pushing in Indian cities!

Our population can only make other people to deal with us purely on business terms and for profit-making. But that is different from earning peoples' respect for good conduct, proper attitude and values! That is what we Nigerians fail to understand. We think that if companies from country ''A'' have investments in Nigeria, then their citizens must love and condone the disgusting attitude and behavior of Nigerians living in their country. It does not work like.
Let us ask ourselves a few questions: why are the citizens of countries with smaller population e.g. Kenya, Ghana, Mozambique etc better respected, loved and welcomed in other countries than Nigerians?

It seems they are very particular about Nigerians, mainly because of the bad things that some Nigerians do there, e.g. drugs

''We (did) a lot for this country during apartheid. But now that everything is hunky dory we are being attacked… This smacks of hypocrisy,” he said.

It is very bad that South Africans are attacking other Africans living there

However, the above statement is the kind of talk that makes some people to dislike us! What did Nigeria do for South Africa during apartheid that other African countries did not do? Did we give them money or send troops?
The military arms of the ANC were actually based in neigbhouring countries like Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana etc.
The fight against apartheid was an African affair, with the OAU mobilizing ALL African countries against the regime
Inasmuch as we all should condemn what is happening in SA today, we Nigerians must stop arrogating any special status or credits to ourselves because we did not special or different from what other countries did for SA during the struggle against apartheid!

Nigerians living in SA should not a unilateral action in this struggle. They must make sure they carry other Africans along in whatever action they want to embark on. They have to be careful so that the South Africans do not single them out for maltreatment in the future, even though I agree with their right to defend themselves when attacked.
This kind of struggle requires some tact and the support and cooperation of other Africans living in South Africa.

I blame African leaders for this nonsense because they started it. In 1969, Ghana sent home aliens, mostly Nigerians away from their country.
In the 1980s, Shagari also sent away aliens, mostly Ghanaians. We even call a particular bag ''Ghana must go''. All these actions show clearly that we Africans have some level of dislike for ourselves.
However, the SA people cannot justify what they are doing to their African brothers. It is bad

Family › Re: Why Is It A Challenge For Single Mum's To Get Married? by mikeapollo: 5:10pm On Apr 15, 2015
Fairgodwin:
I am really interested in this topic. Because I have often wonder why as well.
It isn't so much of a big deal for guys who already have kid(s) to get hook up and or be married but so much of a big deal for the ladies. Why is it so? Why is the society so unfair to women?
And in some cases, it wasn't a fault of these ladies as some of them might have been victims of rape which ultimately resulted in the pregnancies, and of course, abortion was never an option (for them). Yet we fail to see reasons and embrace them as well as give them a second chance just the way we do the guys.
Like the poster below just said, maybe they truly don't want extra liability. But what about the lady who would have to take care or start looking after the guy's child from his ex? Isn't that some form of "extra liability" on the part of the guy as well?
And even in some, if not most cases, the lady wouldn't bring the child into their 'new home' so as not to put "extra liability" on the guy, yet most guys would still not want such (single mothers) women.
So what do we call this? Hypocrisy or simply Insensitivity?
There are various reasons and factors. But sometimes, the ladies find it difficult because they don't see things from the man's angle.
Many ladies give priority to their child more than the man. Many men want to marry single mums, but the problem is most of the men would want the lady to move in alone(without the child), then the child can join and start living with them later after the couple have settled down well or after the lady would have given the man a child. But most ladies would not agree to such. They want their child to be with them everywhere and at all times. Yet, a man would need space to put things right.

My advice to single mums: try and reason with the man and don't use your child against him or blackmail him. Every man needs some space and freedom to enjoy his ''new' wife. He may also not be financially and mentally ready for the child (but not necessarily because he hates or does not like him)
A particular single I know lost the opportunity to marry a guy because she refused to allow her child join them after she might have had a kid for the man....she insisted that the child must be with her.
It is even more complicated when the child is a boy and the father is alive!
Travel › Re: Save Us From Xenophobic Attacks, Nigerians In S Africa Urge FG by mikeapollo: 11:12am On Apr 15, 2015
There are some critical questions to ask before comparing how the govt of each country treats the citizens of the other country:

1.What has been the attitude, behavior and conduct of South Africans living in Nigeria?
2.And what is the attitude, behavior and conduct of Nigerians in South Africa?
3.Why are they not attacking other nationals like Kenyans, Ghanaians, Botswana, Zambians etc

We Nigerians must be bold to tell ourselves the bitter truth....NO COUNTRY WOULD BE FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO ACCOMODATE US IF WE DO NOT CHANGE OUR DISGUSTING ATTITUDE, BEHAVIOUR, CONDUCT AND VALUES, ESPECIALLY WHEN LIVING IN ANOTHER MAN'S COUNTRY!

Nuhu Ribadu :

The revered former anti-corruption boss' sojourn into the murky waters of politics has so far not been fruitful. He contested and lost the 2011 Presidential elections on the platform of the ACN to the PDP's Goodluck Jonathan. In 2014, he controversially defected to the PDP from what had morphed into the APC with hopes of contesting on the platform of the PDP and probably winning the Adamawa state guber election. However, it was not to be. He was gifted the opportunity of running for the office, but he was always doomed to fail, following alleged anti-party activities and sabotage by members of his own party. This culminated in a comprehensive defeat on April 11, where he finished in an embarrassing third place.
Who is ''revered''?
He is an opportunist and desperate, power-hungry man!
I am happy he lost the governorship election and came 3rd behind APC and SDP in Adamawa!
Politics › Re: Tinubu Blasts Party Leaders Over Loss To PDP by mikeapollo:
What happened is a direct fallout of how people feel about Fashola's clueless govt. It is evident that his govt has not been very popular with the masses. In fact, in 2011, Fashola's govt had to use force and rigging to secure some local govts which the PDP virtually won.
It is a big shame that this is happening in Lagos. Now, APC is struggling in Lagos. It was not this bad in the past even when the state was not getting much in revenue. But the clueless Fashola has made the party to lose ground to PDP because of his numerous silly policies that are targeted at making the poor people to suffer.

Lagos has always been a sure banker, but now, the PDP has been helped into reckoning because of the numerous nonsensical policies and actions of the Fashola administration
Politics › Re: Video of Oba Akiolu's 'Die In The Lagoon' Speech by mikeapollo: 1:38pm On Apr 07, 2015
This what happens when a traditional ruler gets too involved in politics, especially in a country/place like Nigeria/Lagos.
The Oba of Lagos has carried his dislike for PDP/Obasanjo too far. He committed this blunder just because he does not want PDP and Obasajo's machinery (which worked against his candidacy and installation as Oba of Lagos). He wants to ensure he pays them back for opposing his candidacy.
However, the choice and direction of his words is not good enough. It was senseless to single out the Igbo people. That statement should have been made and directed to all tribes, not just the Igbos

I respect people who are not desperate to hold on to positions/appointments/power.
That is why I respect Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who stated clearly in 2011 that he was not interested in being retained as CBN governor in 2014!
When you have such conviction, it gives you the boldness. freedom and courage to do what your conscience believes to be right, and not necessarily what the president wants.

That is what honourable men do.....

Have you been following the revelations at the coroner court investigating the collapse of SCOAN building?
Please, go find out before you make some ill-advised comments. ALL professionals who have examined the foundation of the building (even as at now 6 months after the collapse) have testified the foundation is very solid and intact without any of stress at all, despite the fact that it is exposed to the weather. Even agencies of Lagos State govt that initially misled the public by saying that the building fell due structural defect (before the investigations/examination) have now agreed that the foundation is in perfect shape)

Go and see the church structures built by SCOAN.....go and see before you talk! None of the buildings can fail because of structural defect, unless it is caused by earthquake or human sabotage!
