No, it's not necessary. Apmix: |
That's the equivalent of £325 in dollars. The fees are usually converted to dollars at the point of payment. Yes, you can use a Naira card as long as it's enabled for online forex transactions. You'll pay the IHS fees before your visa fees. Once you're done with submission, the next task will be to choose your brp collection centre and thereafter you'll be directed to the IHS website after choosing your appointment date. The steps are in the list of application to-do once you log into your account. Each completed task turns GREEN. Renee25: |
No. For student visas, the source of funds in your personal bank account doesn't matter. Print from the day after the deposit when your opening balance is commensurate with the amount you are required to show. olashubomi01: |
No, not necessary. A cover letter might be needed if there are unclear parts of your application that you'd like to shed light on to avoid errors or miscommunication on the part the CEO. holubukola: |
It's normal when it looks like the standard timelines will be exceeded. I won't be surprised if you get your pick up email this week (around the 12th working day Mark. Thank you. Scottiemi: |
It's linked to your application. You will pay online after you submit your application. You'll see the next step After submission on the application portal after scheduling your appointment. Apmix: |
Go to your bank and ask. For some banks, you need to have a current account for form A transactions. You'd also need your passport, BSc certificate, filled form A form (the bank will give you) and invoice or letter from your school stating how much you're to pay. hosey: |
Yes, weekends are counted. Apmix: |
BrExit and the lack of a post study visa. People are opting to study in countries that allow them to stay on to work after school without issues. yerilistik: |
Since it is listed on your CAS, send a scan of the document to the Sheffield mail immediately (Not sure if it's okay to post it on here) immediately. It's used to request for and receive documents for submitted applications but Note that requesting for more information is up to the ECO. It's important to send it quoting your GWF number before it's prepared for consideration and before an ECO accesses it. Phocusjosh: |
From what I've seen so far this year, UKVI has been treating applications within their official timescales except for unique situations where they might need more time to verify information on an application from a 3rd party. Scottiemi: |
You're supposed to book an appointment before paying the fees because the fees are subject to ForEx fluctuations. Depending on your location, send a mail to iomlagosmedicalbooking@iom.int or iomabujamedicalbooking@iom.int with your preferred test date. You'll be sent a confirmation of appointment with a pdf document (revised information sheet) which will have the current amount charged for TB tests, their address, test Info amongst other info. Check to confirm that the amount you paid is the same as the current TB test cost that's contained in the document. NOTE: The TB test cost was revised upwards to N54,000 in March and was still N54,000 in June but it's always safer to confirm the test fees from IOM before paying. If the test has been increased from N54,000, all you need to do is to ensure that you pay the difference before your appointment and go along with the 2 payment tellers/evidence. If not, you're good to go. Ensure that you go with your travel passport on your test date. kaad: |
You don't need it. Your online application is enough along with your supporting documents. obeauty21: |
Hi @holubukola, You're welcome. There's a section of the application form which asks for your maiden name and if you've been known by different names or aliases in the past; you can list the names here including the one on your bank account. Get an affidavit stating that all 3 names are for one and the same person (you) and include it in your application along with the newspaper publication. You can also include a cover letter explaining this just so the ECO doesn't have a chance to miss it. holubukola: |
1. Currently standard applications are treated within the 15 working days timeline (this is also dependent on information on your submitted application) so it's basically up to you to decide. You can go for priority if you don't want to take chances. 2. Biometrics and interview are always on the same day for Nigeria. 3. You can pay for the courier service (This means that you wouldn't be getting your passport until between 1-3 days after TLS receives it). 4. It depends on how much you're paying. A standard application plus IHS is around $802-820 for a year's course so if you multiply by 2, you will be paying $1,640. GTBank's forex limit is currently $3,000 so if you're using GTBank and you're paying for only 2, you can use your GTBank Naira MasterCard. Stanbic's limit is also $3,000. There's not much difference in the black market rate and what the bank will pull from your account. If you use another bank, verify their transaction limit on their Naira card before use. If what you will be paying is more than your bank's $ limit, buy $ from black market and fund your $ card. holubukola: |
A 30-day statement is ok since what is required is for the funds to have been in your account for a 28-day period. Just ensure that if you count 28 days from the date of your submission, your funds will not fall below the required amount for your tuition/maintenance. 6 months statement isn't necessary. Apmix: |
Wrong Info. Both links are valid. https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Account/Register can Also be used to apply for a student visa. The 2nd option is my preferred application method though because the interface is more user friendly. . Apmix: |
Hi Bingos, Here are the questions I was asked in my last interview. I was asked only 6 of the questions below in the application before the last one. Note that some questions may be dependent on what information that you include on your application and your travel history. - Name, Date of birth, Nationality. - Where will you be studying? - Course and resumption/end dates. - How long is your course for? - Why did you choose your school? - Did you apply to other schools? (If yes, pls state the other schools and courses and say why you chose your current school over them) - Why did you choose your course? (No generic answers pls. Have a clear, explainable positive impact that the course will give you. You can tie it to your personal and professional goals.) -Why did you choose the UK? (Pls do not give a generic answer. Make your answers as personal as possible) - Where do you plan to stay in UK? (If it's off campus, you can mention some of the options you've seen online and are considering. If it's on campus and your room hasn't been assigned, say so) - How will you get from your accommodation to the university? (Know the best kinda transportation for you, know what it costs per month and for the year) - Do you have any friends or family living in UK? (Yes with a Brief explanation. No doesn't need an explanation) - How much is the accommodation? (GBP xxxx PCM (Per Calendar Month) inclusive of bills) - Have you paid for the accommodation? (No or yes with a brief explanation of your accommodation option to show that you've done your homework) - How are you paying your fees? (Self funded, Sponsored by family (Parents), Home Govt, International Company/Organization) - Why is XXXx sponsoring you? (Govt, international organization/Company) You can briefly mention how you heard about the sponsorship and your application process / What's your relationship with your sponsor (Parents)? - What are your plans after this course? - What type of salary do you expect you can earn after completing your studies? (You can give a ballpark figure if you are not 100% sure) Bingos: |
No one can suggest any as far as I know. This is because each application is different and the time spent on processing an application plus reaching a decision will be dependent on the kind of processing you choose, the documents you submit, your immigration history and any other information you provide. Irenenwaka: |
An affidavit plus an explanation about this should suffice. obeauty21: |
Your bank statement is okay and acceptable as long as it's stamped, signed and on your bank's letterheaded paper. Your bank statement shows them the amount in your account on each day of your 28-day count (which is what they want to see), a letter from your bank doesn't. In my experience, Nigerian banks will only give you an account statement for visa purposes, not a letter though bank letters are accepted for some countries. Irenenwaka:

First off, the account statement you submit to your school or UKVI must be for a 28 day period. Your school probably counted back 28 days from date of print and probably noticed a shortfall on one of the days. Normally as long as the opening and closing balances of the account never fall below the amount you require for a 28-day period, you shouldn't have a problem. Your college probably got confused with the numerous withdrawal figures popping up in the bank statement and if they are, the UKVI might make the same mistake. Solution to this will be to move the money to your account (Or another of your mum's accounts) for 28-30 days (The first day of the deposit doesn't count as day 1) and ensure that you don't make withdrawals during that period. Or better still, your mum should stay withdrawals on that account for a 28-day period) This is to avoid a situation where time will be wasted because the ECO shares the same reservation that your school has and where you have to go for an AR. Though with an AR, such reservation can be thrashed but time would have been wasted. You can also thrash this out with your school while showing them that your mum's cash withdrawals didn't have any impact on your fees which remained untouched in her account for 28 days despite the withdrawals. Show them the T4 guidance (which I've also highlighted and attached to my response) that states that the money must be available in the account (which in this case remained in the account despite your mum's withdrawals). The guidance never said not to withdraw while fees are in the account, it only said that the full money must be in the account without any shortfall at any point. If this works with your school and you get your CAS, please make sure that you include a cover letter addressing this in your visa application and/or The additional information section of the online application form. Whether you print on the 3rd or not, the rate on the day you submit your online application which, in this case, is August 29 is what will be used. So if you print on Aug 3 when rate is 400 and the rate when you submit on Aug 29 is 410, it is 410 that will be used to convert what you have in your acct. kaad:
|
It won't. Just use your school address as it appears on your CAS and have adequate information on your accommodation plans (What type of accommodation you'd be getting, cost PCM and whether it'll be inclusive of bills or not, an idea of your accommodation location (s) and how you'll get to school from there (cost of transportation and distance from school). The above will show that you have made your findings and that you're well informed about your accommodation plans/options. olashubomi01: |
Thank you KingDemolah. The ECO assumed that my sponsor wasn't a multinational and didn't run a check to confirm. For my 1st AR, I explained the ECO error citing the T4 guidelines and included proof of the organization's operating addresses, Google search results of the company news articles detailing the organization's entrant to Nigeria, the area where the address was on my sponsorship letter. This led ECO to contact and run an independent check on the organization. The ECO then confirmed that indeed, my sponsor wasn't a local business and then revised the refusal due to another error. For my second AR, the ECO said that my sponsor didn't State how much they were giving me even though my sponsor clearly stated that they'd pay my outstanding course fees and maintenance cost during my course. For this, I referred to the part of my letter where this was written (I included a highlighted screenshot of the letter) and the T4 guidelines that stated that a sponsor can either State how much they're giving or write great they'll be responsible for all my tuition and maintenance costs. I cited the page where this was written in the T4 guidelines and also included a screenshot of the page. Each AR took roughly 2 weeks. KingDemolah: |
It came in too late to be used. Buried myself in work thereafter. Thanks for checking justwise: |
Yes but only if that private company has branches plus registered and active business operations in 2 or more countries. If they do, their sponsorship letter must clearly show at least 2 of their verifiable business addresses in 2 countries. This shows that they aren't a local business and that they can move or have experience in moving money across countries. It will also be helpful to have their contact details (Tel, email and website) clearly indicated on the letter. Apmix: |

I thought we discussed it before. Pls use the opening statement for the date which favors you which is 12th of August. All they want to know is that the money stays in your account for 28 days. sleyflash: |
