Education has been my keycard. |
"I'm also thinking of breaking up with my girlfriend to save money"....... ![]() |
OP, go and read up Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD) and what it is like to live with a paranoid spouse. "Hubby calls me to ask at 3:30pm as he daily does (never misses a day without calling @3:30 to confirm If am home)".....the consistency of calling you at that time and purpose of the call is a huge red flag (you can verify that from a psychiatrist or a psychologist) For him to have mentioned a counsellor is an acknowledgement on his part that there is a problem in your relationship though he believes it is from your end. BOTH of you need to see a professional marriage therapist, one who should alongside therapy sessions should also be able to administer personality assessment on you both as soon as possible.

prosperioh:You have to research schools that offers clinical psychology and check the scholarships they offer, there is also Commonwealth Shared Scholarships |
Newerakings:You intend going for a Masters program where research is expected of you, then you should go on youtube and watch several videos on how to write a good personal statement that would pique the interest of the admission team. |
prosperioh:After my Msc, I look forward to getting my professional doctorate in Clinical psychology (3years), so decide of the 2 which you want to pursue that would offer you better career opportunities in those first world countries. I have always loved working in a clinical setting especially in a psychiatric hospital though with my intending specialty in child Psychology, I am not likely going to work in one anymore as play therapy as an intervention is going to be a key focus in my practice. So reflect and choose the country you want to head to. |
Nice effort. What is the weight of one custard bucket? |
Congratulations but was that not putting the baby in harms way? |
prosperioh:Good. What specialty in Psychology are you looking at? |
They are not blood related. |
Carchoice:You are right, all boys and all girls boarding schools are not healthy for the psychosocial and psychosexual development of adolescents. |
prosperioh:Not yet in the UK, heading there in September for my Masters though my BA wasn't in Nigeria. What class did you graduate with? |
4tomandchi:The death of 24 people is making you laugh? |
Really getting out of hand! |
Hmm...refreshing read. ![]() |
It is high time and focus on home appliances. |
It is men that are benefitting more from the list given to the intending groom, majority of who never bothered to ask about how "our daughter" have been faring but once she begins to talk about marriage, their antennas get activated! |
Cleanworld:Her smartness made her do the laundry while her 6 other children do what? Such women rarely had/have happy marriage themselves thus feel justified at the displacement of their repressed pain and anger on women their sons are bringing into the family. Her type would make sure the house is very neat and tidy before her son arrives with the oyibo woman and be at her best behaviour, to improve her son's chances of marrying the woman! Eye service at its peak! ![]() |
On top wetin? ![]() |
prosperioh:I have my BA in Counselling Psychology and I have now obtained my Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) which qualifies me to start out work-wise as an assistant psychologist in the UK while working towards a Doctorate that would make me a chartered psychologist in the UK. I will be heading to the UK in September to start my one year Msc in Clinical Child Psychology as I hope to work part time in a mental health facility while I study. |
Cleanworld:I know you won't repeat same if the fiancée happens to be a Caucasian (white) lady, how would the OP's mother test the oyibo woman to detect good and respecfull future wife? |
Your mother clearly views your impending marriage to your woman as a threat to her authority, your fiancée not being participatory enough during the washing is just an excuse. What are your siblings, 4 sisters and 2 brothers who are still living with your mother doing that makes your mother excuse them from doing the laundry and expects a visitor (she is still one as you are not yet married to her) to assist in doing it? That is how it starts, next is to expect her to go clean up the kitchen all in the name of assessing her suitability as a daughter-in-law. You seem to still be unindividuated from your mother nor have the psychological energy to draw the line. |
okefranci:You are probably the one out of touch with reality though I understand as your source of livelihood is tied to praising Osinbajo because that what your comments on Nairaland is all about. List at least 3 of communities where herdsmen attacked and leaving many dead since 2015 that the perpetrators have been arrested, prosecuted and convicted. ![]() |
Osinbajo knows very well that he lied when he said the Federal Government will ensure that the perpetrators of the crimes will be brought to book. ![]() |
While he keeps quiet over Sheik Gumi's comments! Let Garba be bold enough to go on a road trip, driving though the roads of Borno and Adamawa states without any security personeel to prove to Nigerians that the region is safe. |
The craving to continually be the "Messiah" of the extended family, has brought many to end up broke and disillusioned with life, with nothing tangible left for their own children to depend on or start life with. Such family system has continually sustained sense of entitlement, some relatives seeing no need to stretch themselves to become independent in life, feel whatever their brother owns is theirs, see their brother's wife as an enemy who is redirecting their brother's financial attention from them and that hatred for the wife is extended to the children. Saying NO is seen as a "sin" by such relatives as they believed their "Messiah" should say YES to their requests, no matter how irrational they may be because the "Messiah" is obligated to fund their life choices. Anyone who lacks the assertiveness to be convinced that his/her personal development and provision for his/her nuclear family and plan for a secured future for them is very important, then he/she should shoulder the responsibilities of other adults in his/her family of birth. |
So this guy has moved from his thread that was in the religious section on Saturday to here! ![]() Still laughing at his conviction that sex with a woman he is not married to, is ihs right! ![]() |
Beautiful!. May she continue to be a source of joy to your family. |
Every winning streak has an end. |
lecturer50:Based on her age and health status, I would suggest you and your siblings see to it that you get someone to stay with her to help prepare her meals, do her laundry , general cleaning and most importantly make sure she religiously adheres to her medication. You know the financial strength of each of your siblings, do encourage them to contribute accordingly to support your mum's assisted living as it would help you all have the peace of mind knowing your mum is not alone and being cared for. |
lecturer50:Are you her only child? Who is presently her care giver in the village? |
Doctored or not, BH is still feeling high. |
