For babies with Jaundice, put 2-3 drops of your breast milk in each eye and take your baby out for the early morning sun rays to hit him/her allover the body for 10-15 minutes everyday. I know this because our family doctor advised my sister to do these when her baby had jaundice too and it all cleared up by day three!

I wish you all mothers - to be,fathers - to- be, new moms and new dads God's blessings and guidance and may your LO bring joy and laughter to your homes.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Signs Cremation Bill In To Law by movado19: 3:10pm On Jun 11, 2013
I am really disappointed and sad that this bill was passed in. As for Fashola, I do not know if he is a Muslim, but even if he is not, cremation is very much frowned upon in Christianity and Judaism. Speaking from the perspective of a Muslim, this practice is a SIN and Islam says that the fire is used solely by Allah (God) to punish,so no man should use it against another man. If only people would learn more about the things that a dead body experiences after death, then they would not be quick to say that this practice is a welcome idea. In short words, the dead FEEL PAIN TOO!

@ jideaffo: Your cover letter should be typed using word. Print it out and place it on top of your resume. It should be the first thing the HR sees, as a form of introduction to who you are and what you do, before they check out your resume.

I hope this helps.

FamilyRe: For Mums Gone To The Great Beyond: Tributes From Nairalanders. by movado19: 6:51pm On May 14, 2013
@ goodsegs, I am deeply sorry for your loss and please, it was never your fault. All you can do is to keep being your best in all spheres of your life and remember your mum in your prayers. To all those who have lost their mothers, I say sorry and may God rest their souls in eternal peace, Amin.
Christianity EtcRe: Intimate Temptations, Christians How Do You Cope? by movado19: 5:46pm On Apr 19, 2013
Do not be "alone" in the company of the opposite sex.
Do not continue to look at a female due to her beauty. The more the eye sees, the more it programs the brain to "do".
Fast as much as you can.
Remember the guilt you will feel should you succumb.
Remember God's power to answer if you seek his protection.
By God's grace, you will get married someday and you will "do" till you have had enough, so there is nothing to miss now. You are on track.

@ Beejaay, "i agree with you. most of theses stories are just created to put fear in people. the same way they interpret Taqwa as fear (what i keep asking is how can u fear something/someone you love "oxymoronic"

You are very right. Religion is presented to people as something of fear, fear and more fear! Taqwa is a state of being so conscious of Allah in all that you do, so much that you fear angering Him or displeasing Him because of the love you have for Him.
Taqwa is not "fearing" Allah as one would a bad person. You fear Allah's displeasure over your deed or actions because of the love you have for Allah, so you never want to disappoint Him.
Thank you Beejaay.
IslamRe: Best Times To Get Your Prayers Accepted by movado19: 3:35pm On Apr 14, 2013
@ Coco diva, thank you for your response. It's much appreciated. Yes, I am very aware that some mothers out there curse their child/children for very trivial things, and I happen to know some people whose mums "cursed" them. But guess what, these mothers have become wretched and very unhappy in this life and their child\children are doing very, very well with all aspects of their lives; because Allah is not unjust, so He will not accept such senseless prayers\curses especially if the children are innocent. A big shame to such women who are a disgrace. Because Islam says paradise lays @ the feet of mothers is not a license for them to become out of control towards their kids. Mothers will have to work to earn that statement and it's not by being aggressive, abrasive or throwing curses on their kids. Whoever thinks what the mum in the "story" did was right should run right now to their mothers and plead for them to throw curses on them.

I also do realise that there are children who greatly offend their parents with their words and actions, and this I will never be in support of. A child should always lower the wings of humility and respect towards their parents.

@ PEN MIGHT: You wrote:"@ movado and deols- Deols threaded a path of caution but not u movado. How could u just conclude about the mother like that. Your analogy is very defective".

Please, which one is the path of caution again? I answered to what you posted about the son and his mum. When did that become a crime? The story does not make sense in anyway; what so ever.
So you are the one with knowledge now? What knowledge exactly? Islam is a very logical religion, so it doesn't require a "rocket science" for things to make sense.

I was particular about the story of son and mum,and not the others from my initial post.

So I have to be a scholar before using my brain, right? Maybe your scholar related this story to you and you took it all in without researching?

You said: "AND PLS PRODUCE EVIDENCE TO BACK UP YOUR CLAIMS THAT WHEN U ARE CALLED BY YOUR MOTHER WHILE IN SALAT,YOU ARE OBLIGED TO RESPOND. You won't find any evidence more than your hearsay".

Now, I ask you, Is this a way a MUSLIM should write or be to people? Why are you so defensive to the point of insulting me? Is it that difficult for you to communicate without a diatribe?

Please, read the below:

[i][b]Responding to Parents While in Prayer

Reference: Sharh Riyaad as Saliheen: 2/54 - Sh. Muhammad ibn Saalih al 'Uthaymeen

The benefit we derive from this phrase in this Hadeeth [1] is that it is an obligation to respond to your parents if they call on you while you are in prayer, but with the condition that the prayer is not an obligation. If the prayer is an obligation, then it is not permissible to respond to them, but if it is a Sunnah prayer then respond to them.

If however your parents are amongst those who weigh issues out correctly, and if they knew that you were praying when they called you they would excuse you, in this case you can signal to them that you are in prayer, by making a noise or saying Subhaan Allaah in a loud voice or raising your voice with the Ayah that you are reciting or a supplication that you are reading until the caller understands that you are in prayer.

If you know that your parents, your mother and father, are understanding and would excuse you if they knew that you were praying, then just indicate to them that you are praying.

For example, if your father approaches you and calls you by name while you are praying the Sunnah of Fajr, if he is an understanding man who would excuse you, then indicate to him that you are in prayer, say Subhaan Allaah, raise your voice in recitation or Du’aa or the Dhikr that you are reading so that he excuses you.

If your father however is amongst those who would not excuse you, he wants his say to be the uppermost, then cut off your Salaat and speak to him. Likewise is the case with your mother.

As for the obligatory prayer, then do not cut it off for anyone except if it is a necessity. For example, if you see someone who is in danger, such as someone falling into a well, the sea or a fire. In such a case cut off your obligatory prayer, other than such cases [i.e. emergencies] then do not cut off the obligatory prayer.

As an advise to you, ensure you ask your self "how would the prophet have handled this situation" before responding.

I still maintain that a lot of stories need to be filtered before acceptance, and that is a responsibility on each and everyone of us.
IslamRe: Best Times To Get Your Prayers Accepted by movado19: 3:54pm On Apr 12, 2013
@ Pen Might: Why would a mother curse her son because he decided to respond to Allah before her? There is a saying that when you are praying and your mother calls, answer her. True or not, could it be that the guy did not know any better, so he decided not to respond? What sort of mother curses her son because he did not answer?
Islam says paradise lays at the feet of a mother, but I beg to ask: Is it this kind of mother who throws "daggers" at her son all in the name of cursing? I think not!

I have come to observe that there are a lot of Islamic stories and hadiths we were fed as children and even now as a grown up,but it is important we all research them before accepting.
Allah in the glorious Qur'an tells us to think, so it is important we do so as regards every information we are fed.

The post is a very nice one, never the less.
FamilyRe: Left-handedness In Children; Can It Be Corrected? by movado19: 9:23pm On Apr 03, 2013
I was born left handed and still left handed. My mum tried (forced) to change me to use my right and do everything with my right hand, but this affected me and I became a chronic stammer. I also had no confidence, such as if I saw the number two, I'd doubt it and say it was three or four!

After a year of trying to change me, my dad advised my mum to just leave me alone the way God created me and she reluctantly did. I wish I could say that my stammering and low self esteem vanished immediately, but they continued for the next ten years. I realized it was only God that could save me, so I began to pray to God at an early age to deliver me from stammering and not believing in myself.

I'm happy to say that those things are all gone now and I am a fulfilled leftie.

To all parents: Please, allow your children be! Being left handed is not demonic nor is it something bad. Allow your children flourish the way God made them, please!

You are spared, but that won't change what I've written.

IslamRe: Do You Observe Your 5 Daily Salat? by movado19: 6:07pm On Jan 23, 2013
For those who hate because others are not that strong yet to say their 5 daily prayers, etc, don't you think it would be better for you to channel all that energy in praying to Allah to guide them rather than hating? We all are not equal, and that is why we all pray to Allah to increase our station.

I have personally seen reverts to Islam who left the religion because of attitudes like this...if we really want to practice what our prophet S.A.W. preached and acted on, then we need to study his life properly and be exemplary to others.

This life is so easy to live if we make it that way.

Wa Salam.
IslamRe: Do You Observe Your 5 Daily Salat? by movado19: 6:29pm On Jan 22, 2013
Alhamdulillah that I observe my prayers on time, even inside my office at my place of work. My only snag is when I am in a meeting and hence miss the actual time for prayers. I pray to overcome this hurdle very soon, inshaallah.

FashionRe: The Beauty Of Shea Butter(ori)(kadanya) by movado19: 9:08pm On Jan 03, 2013
Shea butter is a product I will forever treasure. I was attacked by a pit bull and had wounds on my face and hand. When I got to the hospital, I was told that my wounds would heal but leave a very heavy scar on my face and hand!
I was getting married in four months time, so began my mission to get anything that would not make me have scars; then I happened upon http://www.shearadiance.com/ where this Nigerian couple sell bulk natural Shea butter. I bought the butter and began applying it to my face and hand and was surprised when the scar on my face began to heal and appear smaller before twenty four hours and the one on my hand began to disappear two days later. Within a week, everyone who saw me when I had the attack were very shocked as to how I looked normal; as if nothing ever happened!
I became overjoyed and began using the butter all over my body and my once monstrous stretchmarks are now very faint.
Now, I use Shea butter mixed with virgin unrefined coconut oil I found at http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/ on my hair, face, and entire body.

God has already prepared everything we humans would ever need here on earth for our stay, so I am very pro natural products and I hope this encourages you all to begin using natural oils and such.

Google napp or national association of professional photoshopers and it will take you to the home page. When you get to the home page, you will be asked to click on a tab for beginners. Just follow the instructions and you will be done in no time. It's very straighfoward too. You will of course need a credit card, master or visa card, etc to pay.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers.
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: Photoshop And Photography by movado19: 4:24pm On May 13, 2010
You need to join NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). Membership is about $100 a year. This is the route I took and it works beautifully for me. They have classes and tutorials for begineers and all kinds of stuff.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
