gunuvi: El Rufai can never change. He is an unrepentant liar. How can Baba kneel down for Atiku? Atiku that postrated for baba openly last November. El rufai, god puni.sh u ooo liar
Both obasanjo and Atiku are politicians and like any politician can stoop to anything to get what they want. Obj wanted to remain president and at the time Atiku could hav stopped him with the governors backing him. In fact, Atiku made a fatal political miscalculation by not edging out obj at 2003 pdp primaries, which he could hav done easily. Given the scenario then and Obj's desperation he could hav even licked Atiku's behind to appease him, not just mere playful kneeling down.

She's indeed setting a good example. In nigeria what we see mostly are rich people raising spoiled children averse to any type of work - even the cert these boys and girls are flaunting ... well, we all know how they came by them.
Family › Re: Can You Really Be Happy With The Same Person forever? by mu2sa2: 2:50pm On Jan 10, 2013
marriage is a commitment to remain together come what may, be it sickess, poverty, wealth or whatever. U ar specific about happiness - u should know that happiness is self induced in d sense that u chose forurself that state of mind. Yes, u can live with the same person for life and be happy if u want to - the choice is yours. There are countless couples around who hav been married for decades and are not thinking of calling it quits. In fact many older couples will tell u that they never really had any contact b4 wedding- their parents arranged d marriage. And their union has stood maybe 50 years - why? They see marriage as commitment unlike these days that u talk of only love, somfin u dont even understand.
Phones › Re: Glo Launches New Number Range Series '0811' by mu2sa2: 10:08am On Jan 10, 2013
GLO is the only GSM service provider fully-owned by a nigerian. When southern Africans came into the industry they fleeced nigerians, with SIM card going for 30-40k -and MTN has never stopped defrauding us! Back then owning a gsm line was not for the average naija person. A patriotic nigerian saw the scam and vowed to make SIM card free, and he did by bringing GLO. Every Nigerian should hav a GLO sim, the truly nigerian line.

If she were truly intelligent and smart she should have learnt to speak good English by now having been in political limelight since 1999. Even a stark illiterate who never went to school would have learnt to speak simple good English in 13 years.

If your lover is your lecturer in naija you would still get your certificate even if you are not serious with your studies. He will do his bit of course and work on the other lecturers to do their own. Who cares when the end justifies the means.

Islam › Re: Does The Quran Permit Suicide? by mu2sa2: 5:52pm On Jan 08, 2013
babyosisi: Thank you
Suicide bombers are driven by those verses and the a islamic schools of thought that support them base it on those verses and many like it
You heard Dr Zakir tell us the word suicide in suicide bombing is a misnomer
It is not considered suicide in their books
They are fighting a jihad

The aim is to cause maximum damage to the enemy as you sneak upon them and if the perpetrator dies in so doing, allah be praised,he achieves martyrdom
There is already a call in Islam to do just that.
The Koran says hunt down non Muslims and kill them and establish an Islamic empire for Allah
usman Dan fodio heard that call ,jumped on a horse and started slaughtering his way through,he was not sharing bazooka joe to the people he met
Abu Mutallab heard it and tied a bomb unto his Blokoss and bought an airline ticket grin
"The Koran says hunt down non Muslims and kill them and establish an Islamic empire for Allah". It is misleading to quote or refer to a verse in the Quran without telling the reader the circumstances in which the verse was revealed. You clearly set out to mislead.

It is a manifestation of weak leadership which is very annoying.
The boko haram issue is left unresolved by the govt deliberately.I believe that those who are in charge of the almost one trillion naira defence budget will want the party to continue ad infinitum. They can afford to because they are behind the lines and not the ones dying on the front line. On suicide bombing enough has been posted on the fact that a muslim who takes his own life deliberately has only hastened his journey to hell - this is why suicides were virtually unheard of in early muslim societies with deep knowledge of sound islamic teachings. As for boko haram it's their leaders who hav misguided the largely ignorant and disillusioned young people under their spell.

Niger state has the lowest poverty rate! Wonders shall never end. Shall we then all agree that the chief servant (gov) is most qualified in his bid for PDP presidential ticket in 2015.If he turned the fortunes of niger state around in just one year according to NBS, why wont he do it for naija as the president?

ileobatojo: I have to strongly disagree with the bolded greatgod. This attitude of leaving people for God to judge is a major reason why we will never progress in Nigeria. Why are we just not interested in holding people accountable for their actions? The law suit is not to bring his wife back, it is to hold the people complicit in her death accountable. If we can't demand accountability from the people you deal with on a day to day basis, how can we demand it from our leaders who we will probably never have any physical contact with? That is how we are leaving them to God as the people are being fed to the dogs on a daily basis. Honestly whenever I hear that phrase as a deterrent for demanding accountability it makes my stomach churn. We already have the legal system we need to get judgments against offenders, why should God come down specially to come and judge again? It's the same as praying for healing without availing oneself of the God given opportunity for medical care.

That being said, I don't believe that the man in question has a case against her parents unless they had a power of attorney for the lady that died. Without a power of attorney, they are not the ones that should be making her medical decisions. If they were making the medical decisions directly, then his case should be against the doctor/hospital for taking orders from the family without legal documentation to support that. The more likely scenario is that the woman decided herself not to get a blood transfusion based on her own religious convictions upon which she was raised. The onus has to fall on the woman herself for making such a decision concerning her own health. Whether she got spiritual guidance from her family members or not, she still called the shots at the end of the day. I actually will put some blame on him for not chasing her family out of the hospital with a damn cutlass when they were helping to put the life of his wife in jeopardy with their spiritual counsel. Or was the guy estranged from his wife and is just now flexing?

I certainly don't know all the specifics but these are my immediate thoughts.
Going to court these days in nigeria is not about whether you hav a good case or not. The courts waste your time and the judges at all levels are so much sucked in corruption that they can turn justice on its head for money. So even with a good case u may not get justice after waiting maybe 10 years and wasting your hard-earned money on lawyers. The man had better forget about the courts.
Politics › Re: Katsina Gov’s Wife Orders Sack Of LG Staff by mu2sa2: 3:30pm On Jan 07, 2013
stagger: Easy case to win in court on a legal technicality. There is nowhere in the Nigerian constitution where the First Lady sacks a councillor. That woman had better cross over to Kaduna state and ask Mrs Yakowa whether she had an inkling that she would be First Lady on a Saturday, and wake up on Sunday an ex-First Lady.

Of course, she can cross over to Kano and ask Hajia Maryam Abacha how far. The house where her husband died is still under guard here in ABJ.

People never learn.
The courts are in the pockets of the governors - so u never know. Besides, the case simple as it seems can last 10 years befor judgement at best, but can also get stucked without a final decision - sadly, this is the situation in naija judiciary today.
Politics › Re: Katsina Gov’s Wife Orders Sack Of LG Staff by mu2sa2: 3:11pm On Jan 07, 2013
"Office of the first lady" - from which constitution did they get "first lady" and "office" for "her excellency". This grand scam is one of the incongruities in nigeria responsible for the country's underdevelopment. The official who wrote the letter did a good job, anyway, by naming/shaming the devil instead of using the usual faceless phrase " I am directed to inform that your services are no longer required...".

Tecno makes good phones- call them chinco or whatever, but their phones are reliable. I used a tecno T something dual-sim briefly befor giving it out and picking nokia c2-03, but discovered that tecno battery was superior with up to 4 days use when the nokia had only 5 hours talktime max. Dont write off tecno as chinco.

This happened at a mosque here in nigeria: After afternoon prayers a woman stood at the doorway of d mosque and announced, "I am a xtian". She then xplained how she lost all her goods and money the previous day while returning from a biz trip. Muslims gave her money without even asking a question from the woman about her faith or genuineness of her story. This is d true spirit of islam.

To educate you.. The bible instructed all brethren to 'pray without ceasing'. Besides you don't go to God only sundays, there's no law to that effect.
It's xtians that are rejecting church-going, not muslims.

How does method of worship and imitation concern this thread?
We were used to xtians going to church on sundays. It's this muslim-like daily church attendance that is causing the uproar/revolt - that's the connection.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Church Attendance Compulsory? by mu2sa2: 11:13am On Jan 06, 2013
Lots of copycat imitation going on. The muslims daily 5 times-a-day mosque attendance is nowadays imitated in daily fellowships by some xtians, the same way some muslims now celebrate birthday of their religious figures in imitation of xmas. Tourists going to Jerusalem call it pilgrimage and on return adopt JP in imitation of hajj pilgrimage and the title of "Alhaji". You see cutting of wedding cakes in Muslim marriage ceremonies in imitation of xtians. Etc, Etc.

The certificate is evidence of the knowledge acquired; without the knowledge the certificate signifies nothing and is, therefore, worthless. But in nigeria today certificate is taken as knowledge itself; so, everybody goes to pick up Bsc, BA, LL.B, MBBS, B.ed by whatever means including purchase, forgery, theft, impersonation. We worship certificate and the nation is sorely paying the price.
