That act and many other of its nature have nothing to do with Islam. And it does condemn it and never will condone it. Thus, considering this, why bother yourselves responding to the David and co baseless accusations? I personally see no good point there.

LAGOS(Sh. M. Network)-The out-going Commander of the Nigeria Armoured Corps Centre of Nigeria, Major-General Sale Maina, disclosed Wednesday the Nigerian government has concluded arrangements to deploy troops to Somalia as part of a United Nations mission to restore peace in Somalia.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony of the Corps to the newly appointed Commander, Major-General Sunday Idoko on Wednesday in Bauchi, about 420km from Abuja, Maina said that a battalion of the Nigeria Army had been picked to take part in the peacekeeping mission in Somalia, adding that the soldiers would soon leave for Somalia.


"Soldiers from the armoured corps centre have participated in operations in Darfur and Congo," Maina said.

He said their participation in various missions had contributed positively in enhancing peace and security in many countries across the globe.

"Our soldiers have performed creditably well in all UN missions they participated in. They displayed high sense of professionalism, maturity and discipline in the discharge of their duties," he said.

Maina said the centre in the last one year participated in various military exercises designed to equip soldiers with modern military tactics and weaponry operations.

He added that various capacity building programmes were introduced to equip the officers and men of the centre with relevant skills and knowledge in armoury management.

Responding, the new Commander, Major General Idoko said that he would consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors to make the corps the best unit of the Nigerian army--APA

WAM Dubai, 28th Jan. 2009 (WAM) -- Over 2500 persons of different nationalities embraced Islam last year in Dubai thanks to the diligent efforts made by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department to promote the tolerant message of Islam.

Dr. Hamad bin Al Sheikh Al Shaibani, Director General of the Department, said some 2763 persons from 72 countries became Muslim in 2008, an increase of 71 per cent over 2007.

''We are delivering our message properly by spreading Islamic culture and instilling national identity through giving greater attention to mosques, holy Quran sciences, Islamic heritage, research and fatwa (Ruling), charity works,''he said adding that the message is being delivered through a moderate school of Islam by high-qualified and conversant human resources according to the most advanced methodologies.

''We are lending special care to new Muslims, providing them with all they need from audio-visual materials, books, lectures and training programmes in all languages so as to become true Muslims,''he affirmed.

Aysha Al Kash, Head of Education and Religious Guidance, affirmed that those persons came to the Department by their own will to embrace Islam.

David's many replies regarding Muslims and Islam always scare the hell out of me. He's toooooo harsh and hard. But, inshaAllah, with time he would, hopefully, come to understanding of the religion. Wish him and any other non-Muslim visitor of this sub-forum all the best. Wish they would see the light of Islam someday.

But, something needs to really be done. As this thread's author suggested, we've to be a bit more aware. Open your eyes more.
