Looks like a jobless list; the kind done back then with 'name of country, name of country... Armenia'. Abnormal has taken precedence to the extent that normal now has to be given recognition. Upside down! |

sendmeonly:It is a nice way to sell yourself, this is more like a cover letter in the body of the email but general tips for you here: 1. Make it brief. Particularly for an unsolicited application, people generally scan through the first few paragraphs and the last sentences. 2. Grandioseness: Inasmuch as you are trying to impress the recipient, remember the golden rule, KISS. KEEP IT STRAIGHTFORWARD & SIMPLE. Don't use unnecessary grammar or jargons. Your introduction could have been more concise than it is. You do not want the reader to lose interest in the first few sentences. Another example is this: "I am a graduate with strong interest and succession in acquiring bachelors in engineering ( Water Resources Engineering)" Which one is it Have you 'acquired' or not? In the process, you have left the reader confused as to whether you're a graduate or an undergraduate. 3. Punctuation: Your first paragraph is so long that seeing the period was like achieving an eureka state of mind. Breakdown your sentences to be readable and understandable. A lot of your sentences are too complex. Use commas, periods and semicolons appropriately. 4. Tautology: Nigerians like to emphasise and in this process, we repeat words unnecessarily. Some words we make use of in our sentences are redundant and add up to the word count. 5. Getting Personal: Whether it's business or employment, avoid the "we vs them" syndrome; adopt "us" instead. I see you using 'The Company', 'this organisation' or 'the firm'. Use the name of the firm, adopt their language and make it look like you're part of the team. In fact, you ought to be making use of the firm's values etc and tweak it towards your own strengths etc. 6. Salutation: Since you're using Dear Sir/Ma, it should be 'Yours Faithfully'. Use 'Yours Sincerely' when you know the name of the addressee which you should or can actually find out. |
flyca:I beg to differ. This forum has witnessed instances where sympathy has been used to obtain funds from unsuspecting individuals. Those who subscribe to such theory of 'if you don't have, no dey ask too many questions' are like those who want to throw money from their vehicles irrespective of whether it gets to the beggar or not or if they are putting the life of the beggar at risk through such actions. Some people have a thought process before spending. Comment is free, opinion is an entitlement and discretion is a right. |
That NLs are responding this way is of no surprise. Everyone does have to be sceptical. All the same, the larger effect is when those who need help genuinely are denied. Just some quick check, the OP (Chukwuemeka) is also the person here: https://www.nairaland.com/thugnificent Batch B 2016 Corps Member So the question one initially asks, is the internet the first port of call when such issues occur That's what makes people raise some eyebrows. As a corps member, I am aware your rule book does not permit travelling except with formal approval, so why the need for t-fare? Let April allowance drop na. Remain hopeful and go through some rough challenges in life; when you narrate the stories tomorrow, it's called experience. Even the responses of NLs is part of it! |
By the time I read this: timidapsin:I already knew it was about this timidapsin: |
Dead on arrival but well alive instantly on FP. Indirect way of promoting the book Is the OP Nnamani Chimezie? |
One of the things people need is the OUTLET; like the OP who had to open a new account and write it, others need someone to speak to. People have a lot inside them that they want to let out; once they do that, they have a little freedom inside. |
Wow. So, this finally got here. Kudos. I remember commenting on the other thread last year. Will send you a PM |
ivyy:Freshly Baked coming off the oven. If you're into the bread business now, do not locate your factory and rely on distributors. Bring your 'factory' to town where customers can perceive the smell from the oven and buy straight out of production. This happens at Barcelos and other stores that adopt similar approaches. |
eightsin:My thoughts exactly. Very soon, someone will develop an app that records the screen sessions on your phone |
16 is usually the minimum age of entry into higher institutions. I'm aware parents even used to fake the DOBs of their children. Not sure about private universities though. http://www.guardian.ng/features/education/stakeholders-differ-on-age-limit-for-university-admission/ Even in the JAMB brochure then, they used to emphasise the 16 years minimum requirement for entry to higher institutions. Some schools too always insist on this. It is not just about the academics, it's about the maturity of the children. I'd suggest such parents engage their children in vocational education. This will aid them in becoming future entrepreneurs and independent individuals. The 6-3-3-4 was designed in such a way that if a child starts school at 4 years of age, by 21 s/he's set for NYSC at age 21. Even if the course is medicine or the likes, they're still within 'time' |
HonOlagrace:Does the school have n employees handbook? If your actions contravened any of that, then we can start from there. Also, you were 'told', is this the way you were engaged by the school? Orally? No sack letter? |

I think the one relevant to POTUS right now considering the tweets and tapping Merkel is "Words are like bullets; if they escape, you can't catch them again." |
forbisi:Actually, I got to know that the contact list existed but is 'hidden' on the top right corner. So, to view your contacts, you have to start a new message! |
You only need to read the review comments on PlayStore to know how unpopular this move was. I had fears that Facebook's takeover would affect the likeability of the app. The product is unique because it's simple. Trying to be an Instagram, FB, We chat, BBM in one package may spell ⬇ doom. The developers need to take customer inputs seriously. |
FavoredGuy:You're not the only one dear. If I recall, El Rufai spoke at SMW in Lagos on March 2. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/it-world/social-media-week-el-rufai-speaks-on-technology-as-a-policy-imperative/187578.html |

Only scanned through the post. However, OP please note that it is 'alas' not 'atlas'. |
deolu2000:Here it is: JAYTUNEZ:Most times, this is just a promotion of blogs. If you notice, certain blog sites are pushed to the FP with unnecessary stuffs - even official statements are copied and posted on such sites as 'source'. |
The reproductive system in Biology classes will have some modifications |
The picture with the man was IMO unnecessary - these kidnappers also go through people's phones, FB posts and what-have-you to view pictures of their victims in order to assess their lifestyle. They also read posts and newspapers for reactions by the public in order to 'up their stake'. |
directonpc:My point being that FB owns WhatsApp - reason why FB suggests your number or even suggests someone you just called or saved his or her number as a 'people you may know'. I get you though but almost everything is interconnected these days |
directonpc:But Facebook already has that |
Have you 'acquired' or not? In the process, you have left the reader confused as to whether you're a graduate or an undergraduate.
