Oxygenmayo: why is it that people like copy and paste and give no credit to the original writer? This was originally written by Tolu Ogunlesi from The Punch and posted on NL by Joel Lala...let's give kudos to the brains behind original articlesAlthough he ought to have published his post using the quote tag, he provided the reference link at the end of the write up. |
delors: The boy finally becomes a super star! Toronto news picked him up.Where's the funding from ![]() |
^^^True. I actually sent them messages concerning that but they never replied. Do they take time to verify all jobs advertised? I do know they 'adopt' some publicly advertised jobs but even Guardian for example places a caveat as regards jobs advertised on their paper. |
How many Nigerians know the manifesto of PDP or APC? If manifestos were indeed manifestable, would Nigerians keep on voting for the PDP? Why has the 'rule of law' mantra died down after UMYA's death? When the time comes for debates or electioneering, they fizzle out. Okupe does have some points. If Nigerians are indeed wiser, they would question APC and PDP to explain their attempts to give us power instead of Nigerians studying megawatts' movement as a compulsory course. Lai Mohammed indeed said they'll focus on the issues and I sincerely hope they do so, honour Okupe with no response and enlighten Nigerians on their plans. https://www.nairaland.com/1402157/apc-party-issues-not-brickbats These guys should stop diverting our attention from issues and come up with constructive dialogue. Indomie politics don do smh |
[quote author=obo_man]I think the major problem we face in Nigeria is that we never encourage good people to participate in politics. We scare them with cliches like...... 'Politics is dirty, dishonest, for bad people,' etc..... As a result of that, idiots and evil people rule over us. You hear good and accomplished Nigerians in Airports, bars, public buildings, etc, discussing about politics and offering solution on what needs to be done. The bitter truth is that they have been saying this for 50 years and are still saying it, with none of them prepared to go into politics and change things. Tunde Bakare is not perfect, but he is very smart and articulate. If tasked to head the power sector like Sambo, I'm very sure he is gonna do a better job than him. Buhari would have provided the will, Bakare would have provided the ideas, but Nigerians saw it differently. I think come 2015, we Nigerians should cast sentiments aside and vote for someone that would put electricity into our bulbs, cheaper and affordable food on our table and restore security & sanity into our society.[/quote]Touché. Methinks Nigerians don't really know what they want. They believe in fantasies instead of reality. |
http://www.vconnect.com/business/131982/ Registered as a recruitment agency. ^^^ Jobberman will not get a job for you, they'll only provide a link between the employer and applicants. Let's even go back to the pre-JM era; when you sent thousands of applications and no one called you, was your email provider to blame ![]() I think you should apply to the right jobs - the ones that meet your skills and experience...dazall! Remember you're not only competing against unemployed colleagues, you're also doing so with some employees who want to switch jobs. If the prospective employers have an interest in you, they'll call you but don't dull yourself into thinking REAL employers don't employ JM in recruitment exercises. Lastly, some widely advertised jobs (e.g. Guardian etc) are also available on JM hence you'd find yourself seeing some jobs everyone is probably aware of, the only difference being that JM provides the template to apply - you'll not need to compose a mail etc Jobberman...com is on NL, let them 'defend' themselves: https://www.nairaland.com/ https://www.nairaland.com/opeawo Your topic isn't new neither are they themselves new to controversies. https://www.nairaland.com/1333597/jobberman-bought-off https://www.nairaland.com/1359054/jobberman-scam https://www.nairaland.com/1158177/jobberman-application-credits-what-all https://www.nairaland.com/1154329/what-think-jobberman |
Ayatullah:I read this report somewhere else. Whilst not defending the journalist, 1. If the news got to Benin guys, they'd know the problem was from their end. Just as FAAN is shifting blames, Lagos will readily shift issue to Benin and avoid blame. 2. The reporter may be reporting from Benin. Moreover, there's nothing wrong in covering both sides. Most papers would have correspondent at both cities. 3. That's the paper's business, the more reason one should 'different' sides to the story However,The situation, which has become a major source of worry among the authorities, has also led to a blame game between FAAN and Arik.4. Reports (FRCN) also have it that the pilot noticed the boy and reported to the control towers who told him "everything was under control". He told the passengers before landing about this so they don't get shocked. I'm not a pilot and don't know if any of his piloting skills could have 'considered' the boy whilst flying. This is the more reason Arik management was 'surprised' that the boy was still 'allowed' to 'board' the flight despite reporting his 'break' into the tarmac. 5. If there were Edo government officials as reported, you would understand why pandemonium fever pitch would be high at Benin. Government jobs are quite sensitive and the 'sabotage' accusation can easily be bandied about. Even the clerical officer who thinks nobody knows him may surprisingly find himself in the limelight investigation commences and everybody tries to escape the saboteur tag. |
cogitoErgo: make dem put d boy on a proper flight back to Benin make him go tell him frend say hin don fly under as well as inside a plane! na only over a plane remain make hin fly nowExcept he wan use jazz wey go gum him body. . . Seriously, the boy needs some education. The sorry part is that except he's talented in 'odo eshi', the security operatives may not appreciate this is 'exposé' of our weak security. FAAN ought to be uncomfortable about this concerning how the boy beat all the security protocols. There's always a tendency for laxity in less busy airports. Some have asked, what if he had dangerous motives? Would we be 'loling' at this So much for taxpayers' money. |
tremzy07: But what is with these men coming out of the closet sefExactly! @topic, this seems to be an affront to the Russian government which warns against propagandaism. Russia is even taking a step further by ensuring her children are not brainwashed atban early stage, but what about us Our children will keep watching foreign materials in the name of series, movies et al which seek to change their orientation. Just the same way we've lost a lof of our values because we didn't control these foreign influences, we may see children few years down the line questioning our values! |
^^It's the duty of those who provide outsourcing services to monitor the activities of their staff. Similarly, whilst it's not the bank's wahala but they also have a duty to ensure those they outsource some of their activities to don't compromise their quality, integrity et al. |
Burger01: You don come with your islam wahala...She's right. Islam detests this practice - it's so bad that clerics have to won faithfuls to desist from such practice during 'illeya' in Nigeria. It's ignorance that makes some people think it's 'fun'. Even when the animal is being slaughtered, there are certain pre-conditions to be followed, you don't just kill them like that because they're 'animals'. If these guys want to persist in doing this, that's their business but it's good she highlighted the caution here so people don't miscontrue the practice with Islam. |
blink182: he could barely juggle the ball twice in a row. The annoying part was when the guy on his extreme left picked the ball and started juggling effortlessly-you do not outshine your boss. If he's fired I won't be surprised.Touché! You understand Naija wella! ![]() |
[quote author=isha.salam]Personally, I have never experienced it maybe cos i mostly use GT but I just happened to notice a tall security @ Ogudu GTB gallery, who is everly soo nice and friendly. I observed for about a year without tipping him but his demeanor NEVER changed, cos of this, whether i can afford or not, I always give him like 1k. Thats good service thats brings more reward without tainting his name.[/quote]Very true. In fact, if they're reading this, they should note this man. He's also providing this customer service 'effect' to those who visit that e-branch. I remember when I once left the place with a worried face and he was like "any problems sir?". There are other instances but I posted here just because of him and you reminding about the man - I've always thought about Banks ensuring that ALL (including the outsourced staff) key into the bank's image it wishes to project. It's not just enough to think some are unnecessary - you're as good as your weakest link! @Topic, these guys are merely managing the job. However, what is wrong is wrong, there are no two ways about it. It's even a security risk to the bank itself. We've seen stories of these guards 'looting' the bank's till or liasing with robbers Topic makes me remember this: http://telegraphng.com/2013/06/the-lagos-security-guard-an-endangered-specie/ Funny, the people we expect to provide security themselves are largely insecure. |
The way some people defend mediocrity and want to make it look like a mediocre performance is top-notch amazes me! smh |
opeyemitee: you must not eat food of the unbeliever. It is haram in islam. Anything other than that, you can eat it. There is nothing wrong in it so far you mention God's name before eating it. This promotes unity and love. Once we love oneanother, God will be happy with us and vice versa.I can see from your posts that you say you're a Muslim. If you're not sure of something, it's better to avoid causing confusion through ignorance. The best is even to cure this ignorance via education or seeking knowledge. Muslims have an obligation towards their neighbors you must know. I don't want to turn this to a religious thread but I know one Muslims would be careful about is if the food is halal (allowed) or not. So, if you're giving them alcohol and pork for example, they will surely not eat it. Moreover, it's better to give out than to waste food as your religion seriously warns against this to the extent that you don't waste water even if you're at the edge of the sea Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to be very careful about fulfilling the rights of his neighbors, even non-Muslim ones, and all those with whom he had dealings. He would send food, visit them when they were sick, and so on…The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) is a mercy to humanity as a whole, not just for Muslims. True followers of the Beloved of Allah are the same. |

Gosh. I can't but lol here. Nairaland oh Nairaland. Very soon, I'd see that Mac is controlling Seun sef. For the religion section, it appears the people really do not know what they want. I'd prefer someone else and I want to see if in a few months, there wouldn't be complaints. Insatiable appetites ![]() Even when a Sango worshipper is brought here, there'll forever be suspicions! |

yung tunchi: are u seriousHe's a lecturer at AOCOED (Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education), Lagos. Am not sure if he has already bagged his PhD but he's working towards it. Maybe one of his students or AOCOED students could update us. |
Alright then ![]() |
Mustay: Thanks. Why am actually interested in that is because the same BRF was quoted to have warned Peter Obi not to bla bla bla. So am wondering, except his spokesman wrote for him, why would someone in SA still be doing roforofo |
naptu2 answer my Q nau Mr Hakeem Bello,Special Adviser to Fashola on media, who was on lesser hajj pilgrimage with the governor in Saudi Arabia, confirmed the death to newsmen in Ikeja via telephone. No be today I know say BRF dey go Mecca since he became governor in 2007. https://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Hajj_PIX-FOUR.jpg https://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Hajj_PIX-ONE-488x336.jpg Culled from: Gov Fashola At 2011 Lesser Hajj ( UMRAH) In Mecca http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/08/30/gov-fashola-at-2011-lesser-hajj-umrah-in-mecca/ |
Assumption is a dangerous thing. To answer your question, I didn't just 'pass out' from high school FYI ![]() If you seek clarity, state it. No need for cyberspace roforofo. Whenever LASG offers free service, BRT buses are always scarce (this is rather unusual during normal business days). For the few available ones, it's always jampacked with Lagosians (obviously due to FOC). The attitude of LAMATA/LAGBUS personnel on such days is unfriendly too, simply because it's not BUSINESS! They're not motivated to give VAS because they know it's "free daylight. Reluctantly, they attend to passengers. For those who don't mind paying for an efficient service, this is an inconvenience. It's better to have a paid service and enjoy it than one which is free but with problems. Consequently, it's not just about declaring free rides, it's about managing it well so that "awoof no run belle". |
Free ride, scarce buses, arrogant drivers, huge commuters, poor service. If they want to keep up with this gesture, they should ensure it's properly planned, workers are not demotivated because it's free and commuters don't regret why they'd regret such gesture! |
Aro Okigbo: Don't be carried away by the name RAMadan. This is not one they kill RAM.1. The name cannot change because it's the name of an Islamic month, the 9th called RAMADAN. 2. Some arabic words when translated to English may seem funny, weird or have you. That's the diversity of language. Some English words seem ridiculous when it appears to others. Where "Nike" may be dear here, "Nike" is simply a brand name there. 3. The one where Rams, cows etc are killed is in commemoration of Eid-l-Kabir or Eud-l-Adha symbolising the lessons learnt by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). 4. As I have said in 2, languages are diverse. Learn and respect the diversity. However, your move is a waste of time. If you want to change the name of May because it "may" mean many things, good luck! ![]() If you've understood the reason why the names are so, you'll UNDO your move. @Topic Taqqabal Allahu Minna wa Minkun May Allah Accept It From You & Us ![]() |
naptu2: Yeah, according to the Guardian he cut short his umrah http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/national-news/129160-fasholas-father-buried-in-lagosThanks. Why am actually interested in that is because the same BRF was quoted to have warned Peter Obi not to bla bla bla. So am wondering, except his spokesman wrote for him, why would someone in SA still be doing roforofo ![]() GEJ was shown yesterday being escorted to his car by BRF, so I guess your guess is as good as mine ![]() |
GEJ celebrates Anenih at 80, commiserates with Pa Fasola's death at 80 - different strokes. Make the best use of your time. A lot said Pa Fash "j'eun omo" before he died. Yorubas like prayer - "a ma j'eun omo o" ![]() Btw, I like GEJ's outfit. Looks better than the one he wore to Ibadan during '11 election campaign. @naptu2 That means BRF cut short his umrah to attend his father's death ![]() |
What about UMYA ^^^ Nigerian presidents tend not to wear suits. |
On NL, ofe l'ohun. It's much easier to discredit someone when he dies too. I only pity the new generation especially as they're not interested in history cos the way some will rewrite good to bad and bad to good will make for a sorry case. |
