Christianity EtcEkpereamaka - Prayer Is Good by Myer(op):
Prayer
1. A practice of communicating with one's God, or with some spiritual entity.
Through prayer I ask for God's guidance.
In many cultures, prayer involves singing.
2. The specific words or methods used for praying.
Christians recite the Lord's Prayer.
3. A meeting held for the express purpose of praying.
4. A request; a petition.
This, your honor, is my prayer; that all here be set free.
5.The remotest hope or chance.

Luke.11.1 - Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."
Luke.11.2 - So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer is meant to be Learnt.
There is HOW to Pray and HOW NOT to Pray.
A lot of people have lost faith in prayer or are losing faith in prayer.
While a lot have never been more confident that TRULY God answers prayer.

The LORD'S prayer (also aptly called Disciple's prayer) is the best template for HOW to Pray and What to Pray.

What hinders our prayer is also carefully stated immediately after the prayer.
Luke.11.8 - I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Matthew 6 and James 4 help distinguish a hypocritical/vain/selfish prayer from a sincere one.

Some Prayers require Fasting.
Not necessarily in a religious way.
But genuinely to seek God's face
To seek to hear clearly from God.
To Break our unbelief (hardened heart).
To discipline our flesh/desires/cravings/habits
To sharpen our spiritual senses/antenna.

If there's anything the last election should teach us;
-Everyone prays, including believers and unbelievers.
-God answers our prayer as it aligns with His Will.

Gen.3.11 - And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"
Gen.3.12 - Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."
Gen.3.13 - And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

From the bible we can clearly see who to blame, or can we?

1. Adam blames the woman.
2. The woman blames the serpent.
3. God blames all 3 of them.

That bank is rubbish. 80% of their so called full staffs were trained by those contract staffs. Yet their effort is not valued. How can they enslaved their staff for years, no promotion,no convension and I even heard that they've stopped paying them so quarterly they just introduced 3years ago. That's not encouraging out all.
95% of the contract staffs have Bsc certificate and experiences yet they employed fresh graduate yearly as full staff puting age limit to on the cateria to avoid the internal staff applying. Indeed is that's an act of wickedness.
Who is to blame for this unfair quagmire?

1. The bank who stated clearly their terms and conditions?

2. The Staff who signed the Terms and conditions? Albeit out of desperation for job.

3. The Middle-man agencies who source for staff for the banks? Bear in mind these are the true employers of the contract staff, not the bank.

That is the Power of the Enduring Mercies of God.
If He finds favor in God's sight by virtue of being sincerely and genuinely repentant in his heart, it's done.
He will be forgiven immediately.

He might still do the time so that he learns certain lessons but his soul will be saved.
Isn't this God too Amazing?

But usually people like him feel they have gone too far to be forgiven.
Or they have become too hard-hearted (proud) to even be repentant.

As much as I hate what him and his ilk/caucus/cohorts have done to Nigeria, God's Will is supreme and God will deliver Nigeria and Nigerians from those who trouble her/us in the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

donbenie:
Prayers..
The wishful thinking of delusional minds..
Featuring a god that does nothing..
Takes no blame when nothing is achieved..
But gets all the glory when something is done..✍🏾
God is God whether you choose to acknowledge Him or not.
He is not to blame for evil because He is Good.
Evil is simply the absence of Good.
Darkness is simply the absence of Light.
Since the time of Adam, when evil happens it's because man chose to disobey God. And every soul that sins (disobeys God) dies.

Deut.32.39 - "Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.

When anyone sins, God can either choose to forgive or destroy the person. His Choice.
And this is why we pray, so that though we deserve to die, He should remember the blood sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ and have Mercy on us.

This will make little or no sense to you now.
But if you truly seek answers with a sincere heart, He will call you out of darkness and into His everlasting Light.

Do you understand Communication (Power of the (Social) Media?
Do you understand History?
Do you understand Cause and Effect?
Do you understand Hooke's Law (Physics)
Do you at least understand the 3rd Law of Motion?

If you put your emotions in check and actually apply the knowledge you've acquired Academically, you will understand the present challenges we are undergoing under the new government/administration.

Things will get better, it's just a matter of time.
This govt has been making the right decisions and policies. Let's brace ourselves for the storm before the calm.
We were hopeless under Jonathan and Buhari.
Tinubu truly means well and has the Grace of God behind him.

Jonathan meant well but the grace on him only brought him so far. He couldn't win the battle against the Cabal.
Buhari meant well, but the grace on him could only take him so far. He bowed to the pressure.
Tinubu means well too. He has been preparing for this for decades. Patiently strategizing for decades, raising men and gaining political traction for decades.
When he made the bold statement "Emi lokan", it wasn't from a place of just entitlement, but recognition of Destiny.

We are lucky to have a president who means well, is prepared for the task and has the interest of the people at heart- rich and poor, elites and masses, military and civilian, old and young.

Time always reveals people and our choices.
Time, and only Time will tell/justify.
God grant us the fortitude, wisdom, creativity, comfort and provisions we need to survive and endure this "short-siffering" before the coming weight of glory for Nigeria and well-meaming Nigerians in Jesus name.
Amen and Amen.

Christianity EtcRe: Who Should I Believe In This Case?? by Myer(m): 6:33pm On Jul 22, 2023
Sermwell:
Immediately after school, a cousin gifted me some money which I invested in distribution of PMS(fuel). Before I began the business, I told my parents about it and asked for thier prayers. My dad is a heavy traditionalist, who visits some traditional medicine men, while my mum is a very strong christain.

Fast forward to 7 years later, I became very successful in the the business and also invested in other businesses. I made my big break during Buhari's tenure, and I can say I'm very comfortable financially. Apart from sending money to my parents every month for thier upkeep, I also send money to my mum for seed sowing, tithes and some other church donations, while I also send money to my dad for his routine "appeasing the gods" and some other financial obligations to his medicine men.
Last week, I decided to visit home and when it was night time for gist and all, my dad started thanking the gods for thier hands in my success and bragged that his medicine men are very powerful and have the ears of the gods , and that as long as him and his medicine men are alive, I will continue to prosper in my business and legal practice. My mum on the other hand, insisted it was the Almighty God she serves that has been blessing me courtesy of her prayers, fasting and seed sowing.
I'm not a very religious person, but my both parents sounded convincing that thier prayers and spiritual activities is largely responsible for my success. On my flight back to my base, I was wondering who could be right among them.

Who do you think is right in this case?
It's a bit difficult for me to say, but neither you nor your mom is a believer.
You're only enriching pastors.

So you should attribute your financial success to the gods of your dad.

Cos Jesus Christ is not as interested in your financial success as much as your eternal success.
His presence in your home would have destabilised the gods of your dad.
Your dad would either have converted and renounced his gods or renounced you and your mom.

There really can't be coexistence between Light and Darkness.
One has to bow for the other. Unfortunately your dad's gods rule your household.

U are simply indulging her, making her popular and by extension her nonsense views.

It's petty quoting her bro. U make it look like her opinion/view is worthy of debate or argument. Someone is delibrately posting gibberish just to get attention and u are giving her/he the attention

The best way to handle such nuisance is to ignore them.

I bet u, if nobody replies her/him for 2weeks, she/he will calm down. This is the best way to stop her nonsense views from spreading.

Normally, a man should learn to ignore women let alone this nuisance
While I don't think it's fair to call anyone's view/perspective nonsense, i do agree that indulging her is making her popular.

But have you read her posts?
Take time to hear/see her perspective and you will understand that she does have a point. She is however letting her emotion get the best of her.

A lot of men are guilty of what she's saying. However it's not right/fair to take it out on all men.

Hello everyone.

During the course of my ban (nairaland prison cheesy) I came across a thread where a "man killed his 22 yrs old girlfriend in anambra", in another thread I also read about how "a man set his wife ablaze just because she bought a property with her own hard earned money" ...I was so pained, I couldn't comment.

Dating or married to a man who physically abuse or sexually assault you, it's highly risky and is not good. Pls detach yourself away from such man. Onyeka Onwenu said "I didn't want my marriage to end but it could have killed me". Is not a do or die affair, delete those mentality from your head that he will change, he can never change. Violence is in Nigerian men's DNA.

If ladies can hearken to this advice, men wouldn't be setting us ablaze or beating us to death. "Many receive advice but only the wise profit from it"

Ladies, get a job, learn a skill, be business minded, improve yourself, don't sleep over in a man's house, learn to be independent. You're relegating yourself if you beg or ask men for money, there by treating you like a trash.

This last Sunday, a guy took me to "Atican Beach" at ajah, he asked me what do I care for, so I ordered barbecue fish, fried chips with ketchup, and juice (everything was about 9k). Immediately the waitress brought my order, I just handed 9k to her.

The guy was dumbfounded, he was like babe I don't like the stunt you pulled there, that I should've allowed him pay my bill. He couldn't even resist the urge to say I should follow him home. To do what nah? To pick beans? He dare not say that to me.....It's called SELF WORTH.

Nigerian men are full of hatred, evil, wicked, cheat and rape apologist. Yet they compare us with white ladies. Now am still wondering which white lady would accept these sick attitude of Nigerian men.... Mess up with them and they would keep suing your ass to court till you split your boxers into two, Infact you will be left with absolutely nothing. Lol, Funny black men!!

Ladies, Life isn't friendly with anyone, your peace of mind and happiness should be your number one priority. Also train your children uprightly(especially your daughters). Let them grow in wisdom.

Shout-out to strong and Real women like My lovely mom (O. Lydia), Genevieve, Rita Dominic, Joke silver, Ngozi okonjo-weala, onyeka Onwenu, Funke Akindele, Ibukun Awosika and other strong ladies out there!
Well said.
I see your passion to liberate women from abuse.
God will grant you more Grace, Wisdom and Favor to achieve it well and to His glory in Jesus name. Amen

Staph is not entirely a sexually transmitted disease.

You can contract staph through eating with the same plate or spoon an infected person ate with that wasn't properly washed. A lot of Nigerians contract staph through mama put restaurants.

Also eating poorly washed fruits, vegetables, etc that are infected with staph bacteria will infect you.

There are other ways too that is not sex related.

You need to carry out a culture and sensitivity test to know which antibiotics your body is resistant to so you don't waste your time taking antibiotics that your body has developed resistance to.

If your body isn't resistant to Rocephin injection, try it, it will take care of it

Prophets should be held accountable for false prophecies. Even the bible teaches so.

Deut.18.18 - I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

Deut.18.19 - And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.

Deut.18.20 - But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.'

Deut.18.21 - And if you say in your heart, "How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?'

Deut.18.22 - when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
