I worked with two guys and 3 girls as their security chief in a fast food restaurant as contract staffs. The guys were something else but I managed them although we had back and forth arguments because they were trying to disobey my directives.

As time went by, the then manager told me about a vacant position, "Store Manager" and helped me to apply. Unfortunately, he was transferred before I was fully employed so, he handed me over to the new manager and assistant manager.

I was employed and was happy. Those two boys then began to conspired against me, they are psychologically smart and to an extend fearless and manipulative, I like them for that.

Just of recent, they began working against me with the manager, they stopped helping me to offload goods to the store and so, I decided to stop them from entering the store to charge their phones. But they boldly told me that I can't stop them and if I do, they will beat me. They have muscle more than I do. I knew they can beat me but I decided that I won't back down.

Yesterday, I stopped the now security chief from entering the store but the manager told me to allow them. This is the same manager that supported me initially to stop anyone I want from entering the store house and to lock it each time I want to go out.

Right now, I don't know what to do, I feel like the manager is trying to make me powerless in the office.

I want to know, does the manager have the right to ask the guards to keep entering the store room or I should continue to resist them?

Any store man or woman who has had similar experience, how did you overcome it.

I'll start with a brief introduction of myself.
I'm Adebanjo Mayowa.
I joined NL as a struggling believer/atheist under the moniker @pressplaybaeby.
I eventually turned a full blown atheist and never hid
from my family, colleagues and everyone who interacted with me. I though I was liberated and wanted to liberate others by countering Christian beliefs that were absurd or not a reality around me.

Eventually I ended up opening a thread comparing Intelligence and Wisdom, asking which was superior.
A comment on the post caught my attention which said and I paraphrase, Intelligence could be learnt but wisdom was God-given.
That statement made all the difference and I realised I was only intelligent and had lost my wisdom which I used to have at some point.

I decided to go back to church to learn whatever I might have missed. I decided to learn about God, about Jesus Christ anew. I ended up starting fresh as a new convert in a church around me.
It was a struggle receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit but eventually I began to pray is the Holy ghost.

And so began my relationship with the Holyspirit.
I listened to the testimony of a member during a weekday service she shared how the Holy Spirit was speaking with her. Then I began to pray for it. I was led to go back to the foundation class. During one of the classes, I learnt about communication and I heard His voice for the first time- more like a whisper in my heart. He asked me to join the teaching/foundation department.
Also during the classes we were taught about the Great Commission being the last class. I was so shy I don't think I did an actual evangelism, I know I wrote some thing sha.lol Will try to get the note again to confirm.

Today, I have learnt through obedience, experience and from so many ministers. God has really led me through various church denominations and personal study. I have also parted ways with so many ministers as I would later realise God works through certain trainings depending on the nature of the calling.

It's a privilege/honour to have a spiritual engagement with the Holy Spirit. It is a heritage of all children of God in the new birth.

However in my journey of Faith, I have learnt to allow myself grow as God leads.

I'll be sharing some of my dealings here for the edification of us all.

Heavenly Father, please dwell richly here, Grace Us with Your Presence, Lead us, Teach us, Help us and Supply all we need even as you take all the Glory and as you Honor your Word and servants/labourers in the Mighty and Matchless Name of Jesus. Amen

There was this popular MoG from Ibadan who do early morning prayer on Ajilete FM that I adamantly forbid my wife from listening to.

I told her, 'I am not saying you shouldn't listen to him but not under my own roof.'

I didn't banned her because the man was fake. I didn't think the MoG is fake, but I find some of his modus operandi unbiblical.

What is my drift? I have no qualm with Pastor Jerry Eze and his YouTube early morning prayer ministry but it is a disgrace and dishonour to you, the man of the house, if your woman can wake up to listen to other man before you.

It's a disgrace to my fatherhood if my kids are doing morning devotion via internet led by another man and wife and kids aren't to be blamed.

Therefore, we men, should truly man up and be the leader God made us.

The likes of Pastor Jerry Eze and co come into equation because many men are not spiritual leader. He is filling the gaps created by spiritually-absent fathers.

Your wife jumping from one prayer mountain to another is because you haven't ascertain your spiritual headship in the head.

I pray many will get the intent of the content of this your message.
It is not to criticize Pastor Jerry Eze or the other Early morning devotional Pastor/Prophets God has raised to fill the void that Fathers/Leaders have left vacant for years.
The void we individually have also left vacant, waiting for leaders to jolt us to what should be our daily spiritual exercise. So many "christians" can't even lead a prayer session or conduct a fellowship simply because they do not have a personal time in the secret place.

It took me ages, to understand the importance of commanding our days as early as possible.
I must admit, I still struggle with this too. But we must all rise to our responsibilities. So help us God.

The best heritage a father/parent can pass over to their children is a strong spiritual life prayer and bible study, not as a religious activity but as a communion/intimacy between Heaven and Earth.
This is the heritage of every follower of Christ.

A colleague of mine called me last week and Said a woman needs a sounds teacher to come and take the child on sounds this summer to enable the child read before school resumes and that she wants someone with British diction.
So, because I'm a diction instructor and have done that kind of job in the past ( like nine years ago) my friend recommended me.

Back then ( 2014) when I was into this home lesson full time, I was charging 25k per child and its three times a week and I pick the places I go to. No long distance thing.
Now with the current situation of the economy and considering my age, I charged this woman 50k three times a week and she said it's too much. Meanwhile, the school the child is attending was where I taught before I left and started doing home lesson and their school fees then ( 2014) was 95k for prep class. By now it should be around 150k. My friend already told me the school the child attends.

She said it's too much that she can only afford 20k. I just ignored them. They will pay 150k for school fees, nothing much to show for it but will want to give you peanut and expect you to perform magic under 1month.

If I handle the child, no doubt, she'll read and her accent will change but definitely not for that amount. I'll now be trekking that long distance cos no bike and somebody is telling me 50k is too much.

Did I do wrong by ignoring them cos they want me to come and start this August but I have zeroed my mind there.

Would you accept such amount for home lesson?

You know your onions and your worth. And that's great.
However here's my 2 cents for you to reconsider;

1. Are you very engaged at the moment, I mean do you have a better offer that's paying you more than that presently?
2. Does the 20k per week cover your transport, feeding and necessary bills (basic needs)?
3. Have you considered this client could be a means to an end? A contact that will end up advertising you to other parents when they see the result of your tutorial/work on her child?
4. The whole situation of the economy touch everyone-both rich and poor and especially parents. They have already paid 150k for school fees, another 150k for tutorial for one subject would actually be quite burdensome.

That said, all the best with your decision.
And I think you should consider focusing more on this diction tutorials. It's a highly-valuable skill.

Life in the United Kingdom is far different from what most Nigerian men are used to in their home countries. The points here might appear so simple but they count in the preparedness of a man in bracing up for the challenging task ahead. They constitute the essential ingredients that put the final touches to the taste of a good soup.
Come with me and let's dive into these points:

(1) No creditworthiness:
If you are not creditworthy, you might struggle in the UK, because the credit score is taken seriously here. You will struggle to secure loans and mortgages. Even offline, your friends and colleagues might be hesitant to assist you financially during difficult times.

(2) Cheating:
In Nigeria, cheating married men are like celebrities, especially when they have financial muscle. Even when their wives know, they endure the problem. In the UK, cheating on your wife might render you homeless and even pave a visa route for her and the children through your downfall. If you are a serial cheat, it might be better for you to remain in Nigeria where you are a king without a crown.

(3) Pride:
Some Nigerians are excessively proud. They never do household chores and they brag about it. It is too expensive to secure domestic workers here and the terms of engagement are too strict. You might have to keep your hands dirty at home to keep your marriage going. Some jobs also come with insults and talking instructions from underage or far younger colleagues. If you can't handle it, you might be forced to sleep rough and go hungry due to being broke.

(4) Obsession with white-collar jobs:
In the UK, it is easier for you to easily get blue-collar jobs and make good money from there as an immigrant pending when you are fully integrated into the system. You might be forced to come down from your high horse to work in factories, restaurants, warehouses, care homes, and hospitals; playing menial roles. If all you know is wearing suits and ties in cozy office environments and signing documents, the UK might not be for you.

(5) Laziness:
Making money in the UK is quite tough. If the money sent to Nigeria could talk, some people will not touch it. The majority of immigrants do transitional jobs of an average of 12hrs per day and 6 days a week to make ends meet. The cost of living is too high at this point. A lazy man who is used to enjoying free cash from petty crimes in Nigeria will certainly not fit in here.

(6) Can't manage loneliness:
This affects single people more. Over here, people would only check up on you if they need you. Everything is highly transactional! This gets to everyone at some point. You have to manage it well before you get in bed with the nearest 'mad' person.

(7) Tolerance/Endurance:
Immigrants who work in health and social care must possess this attribute. The money might be good but there is a reason why the labour turnover in this sector is very high and visa sponsorships are given for people to remain there. This is because of the unconventional nature of the jobs. If you can't tolerate or endure the smoke, you might end up begging the Tinubu victims in Nigeria for money right from the UK.

( Hate cooking:
If you don't have cooking skills in the UK, you will suffer oh! You will end up eating foreign foods that you might find tasteless. You will spend a lot on patronizing Nigerian food vendors who sometimes cook burnt offerings for the gods. You will eat junk food till you become pregnant without a forthcoming baby after 9 months.

(9) Lacking good communication skills:
Being able to communicate in good and simple English is very essential in the UK. It is very imperative when attending a job interview. It is the easiest way to sell yourself even when the certificate might be lacking. It shows your level of intelligence and how adaptable you can be. If you are poor in this area, your progress might be hampered in the UK.

(10) Cold:
If you are the type that screams 'weather for two' anytime rain falls in Nigeria, the UK might not be for you. If you can become sexually restless under a weather condition of 25 degrees Celsius in Nigeria, imagine what you would do when it falls to 0 in the UK. And this isn't a place to be randy. It is very expensive and dangerous to do so. Read the stories of the former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy or Adam Johnson and learn.

Feel free to debate the few points I have made so that we can all learn.

I met a man recently who likes me a lot, maybe even love sef. He’s really serious and he wants to marry me but I’m not really feeling the whole thing for a few reasons.

He’s probably a dream come true for some women, rich, caring, generous and there is a possibility of him becoming a king in some years (which I'm not really a fan of, royal families, royal issues). But my issue is that he has a wife already but they don’t have kids (the issue is from the wife) and he wants to marry me as second wife because he does not want to continue waiting after 10 years of marriage. And I know he would give me the world if I have kids with him.

My main problem is attraction, it is not there. He has a small stature and I’m naturally drawn to tall guys. I’m taller than he is and I just can’t get over that.
I know I would enjoy the relationship but I feel like I’m always going to be feeling like I settled. Please note, I’m a single mother of 2 in my early 30s and I’m not doing bad financially too. He’s been begging to be intimate and I’ve been responding with a firm No. I’m not interested in starting what I cannot finish. I know if I give in, I would grow to love him because he's actually a nice person but....

It's a special blessing to know who you are and to have standards. However, our standards must not be too superficial and must align with God's will.

Concerning this man, only God can reveal if he's right for you. What I can perceive is, for him to be adamant on sex, he might just switch up on you after that.
Royal families are a battlefield, you have to be spiritually strong in Christ to marry into one.
Even a certain Olori who was spiritually strong couldn't handle it.

My counsel is simple;
Pros:
-He is caring.
-He loves you.
-He is generous.

Cons:
-His height. Ironically God has a sense of humor with these things. The man's lineage needs your height.lol
-Royal family- this could be a major con if he's idolatrous. But could be a Pro if he's Christian (Born-again and Spirit-filled.)
-He's asking for sex before marriage a major no-no. I understand his fears due to the situation of his first wife but you can't disobey God to satisfy him.

Pray about it and let God guide you. Seek counsel from your pastor but more importantly let God guide you.

▢ Your husband does not work and he is mentally ill, have you both tried coming together as a couple to maybe replan your union in such a way that would maybe get you to become the major breadwinner while he transitions more into the role of househusband during his down seasons? I mean what have you both tried up until this point in time that has not worked for you still?

Have you considered praying about it?

So many Pastors have not forgiven their members/proteges/disciples.
So many members have not forgiven their pastors/prophets.
So many are angry with God for seemingly unanswered prayers.
Truly God has been faithful. We have been the unfaithful ones.

Most of us have also prioritized our races/tribes/traditions over God.
We are children of God first before our tribesmen/kinsmen.
The Word of God and the Will of God should supercede our traditional ties.

Some of us have entangled ourselves in unholy unions- occult, witchcraft, contracts etc.
It seems impossible for us to get out of these,
Truly with man, it is impossible. Truly with gods, it is impossible.
But with the ALMIGHTY GOD, is anything too hard? He eats impossible for breakfast and it is His Will to break bondages and yokes.

Isaiah 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?

But so many of us are so focused on money, our ambitions, our lustts/desires, pleasures, people (friends, competition, helpers, sex, etc), accolades (titles), etc.

Focus is everything.
The enemy does every thing to distract us from God.
Beware of Distractions. Distractions are the ultimate weapon of Satan. And they come as people, self-indulgences, activities (hobbies, even religious activities), etc. who and what is taking up so much of your time that you cannot focus on God? Beware! You need to cut of some things/habits and people.
There are distractive spirits. The bible makes more sense to us when we Know and Understand that we are Spirit-beings. We are carriers of spirits. Every thing and every one is controlled by spirits. Selah

Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior acknowledged that He could do nothing except by the Spirit of God.
And truly, at His trial/crucifixion, he really could do nothing. He cried, "Father, why has thou forsaken me?"
If only we truly know and understand the Price at which we were bought from Sin and Death. The Cost of our Salvation is Priceless.
We truly won't willingly continue in sin.

God help us all. Everyone is a sinner. It is in Christ that we are saved by the Gift of the Holy Sprit.
The Holy Spirit immediately gifts us Righteousness before God, Peace and Joy.
How so generously He has loved is even while we were yet sinners. How much more when we are saved, How much more when we turn to do His Will?
In pursuing the Will of God, every thing we need is supplied in God\s Good Time and according to His Good and Perfect Will.

You need Hope, He gives you unreasonable hope.
You need Peace of Mind, He gives you Peace that you can't explain or understand.
You need Joy, He gives you the Joy that you will need self-control to handle. Selah.
You need Healing? Healing is His children's bread/food.
Even those who are not his children but have great faith are are healed. How much more His children?
He heals your spirit, soul/heart and body (bones, flesh, nerves, etc)
You need money, he will provide. However, money easily reveals the intent of people\s hearts.
Money more often than not makes man forget God or lose his passion for God, money can attract distractions, money corrupts many to compromise. Hence, you cannot serve God and Mammon (money).
We have to choose one. What drives you? Is it to make money or to make heaven?

So much is embedded in the Will of God that man has barely scratched the surface yet we have become proud. We have arrived.
It is truly those who Know their God that will be Strong and Do exploits. It is those who wait on the Lord that renew their strength.
Patience in the virtue when pursuing God.

God's Will;
-Eternal Will
-Dispensational Will
-Seasonal Will
-Instantaneous Will

Prayer is a communication with God to Know His Will and to receive Grace to Do His Will.
Also to present our own needs/will as they align with God's will. Selah.

We have to be intentional about Knowing God's will and He will gladly grant us our own will as we do His.

He will ensure He works on our wills. To help us distinguish between good will and evil will.
We will invariably willingky submit our will power back to God. Because TRULY no one knows what's best for us as much as our Heavenly Father/Creator/Producer/Programmer.

God has spoken His Will through His Prophets since the beginning of Time through His Holy Word- documented richly in the Bible.
God especially speaks to us through His Holy Spirit whom He deposits inside us as we receive the Baptsim of the Spirit in Christ.

What is Will?

1. One's independent faculty of choice; the ability to be able to exercise one's choice or intention.
Of course, man's will is often regulated by his reason.
2. The act of choosing to do something; a person’s conscious intent or volition.
Most creatures have a will to live.
3. One's intention or decision; someone's orders or commands.
Eventually I submitted to my parents' will.
4. Firmity of purpose, fixity of intent

Pastors pray for souls/members.
Businessmen/women pray for customers.
Banks pray for customers (save and borrow money)
Doctors pray dormer customers (patients)
Pall-bearers pray for customers (dead)
Politicians pray for Power/Position.
Electorates and their Choice Candidates pray too.

So why should God answer your prayer or mine?

To prove that you're a child of God?
To prove that you're a pastor/prophet?
To reward you for your service?
To show that you are worded?
To show off?
To announce you to the world?
Or because you are desperate?

Truly, God answers prayer when it aligns with His Will.

Our pursuit should, ergo become;
-To Know the Will of God.
-To Be Able to Do the Will of God.

Acts.13.22 - And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.'

John.4.33 - Therefore the disciples said to one another, "Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?"
John.4.34 - Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

How come it was not “biblical” before Augustine formulated it?

Maybe you should shed more light on what Augustine's doctrine is. Cos the bible clearly states it in Romans 3:23-24 and many more Scriptures.
