I'm not exactly a fan of Buhari or politics for that matter, but i believe there is some wisdom in his delayed appointments. The Nigerian polity is a cesspool of serial criminals who have defrauded the nation's treasury without recourse. It is crucial that each government body be thoroughly investigated, accounts reconciled, bad eggs purged and a clear pathway determined BEFORE appointing the captain of those ships. Right now, i bet he is under pressure by lobbyists and other political figures to appoint their people. We all know why this is the case, as they need someone they can use in perpetuating their chronic thievery. If that happens, then Nigeria is back to the status quo. The reason Nigerians voted Buhari was for his drive to purge corruption. That is not something that happens overnight in a shit hole like the Nigerian polity, so give the old man a little time. |

I approve his stand on this.

Procrastination army. From the way i understand this BVN exercise, i don't think there is a deadline - in the sense that you can't enroll after the 30th. I believe after then, your account just goes inactive, and you can enroll and reactivate it at any time. I called GTB some days ago, and that's pretty much what the lady told me. Since many customers don't live in Naija, i doubt they expect us to jump on a plane to Naija, for some BVN thing. So, for those who don't use their accounts often, i don't think there is a need to panic (I could be wrong though ). |
It should also be removed from Nairaland. Yes, it can't be removed from the internet once it is on it, but identity theft is a serious issue, and there is no need to feed identity thieves with what they need. Nigeria is a different society, so i can understand if the average Nigerian does not see this as a big deal - but it is. |
![]() This should have been Nigeria's official Presidential car all these years. |

Which of them is fast and reliable for use with a laptop or tablet? I visited Naija in 2011 and used an Airtel USB stick with a laptop in Abuja. I nearly committed suicide from "page loading" frustration. I heard there are faster options now, so what are they? |
Maintech:This is perhaps the most ignorant comment i have seen in a while. |

BlackPeni5:Dude, how much social media where you using 16 years ago? How many average Nigerians had regular access (on phones) to the internet 8 years ago? Things evolve with the times. |
Kufie:e.g being the "neighborhood skater"? ![]() |
Get decent traffic and you can migrate to direct ads only. Same direction Nairaland went. However, you don't need Nairaland levels of traffic to do that. Also, these "my friend" threads are mildly annoying. |
jack67:I tell ya. |
Never been in a Whatsapp group, so i can't relate. |
sinaj: It would require some serious kpanshin to cause that though. |

Nothing. PROVIDED you're not missing out on certain basic things. e.g you constantly fail job interviews because your personality isn't compatible with the company's drive. |
There was a game called "Ole2 thief" or something like that posted on the homepage some months ago by a Nairaland user. I had it on my phone, but after some months i received a notification from Google Play saying the app was identified to be stealing personal information. It was auto-uninstalled from my device immediately by the system. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? |
