CelebritiesRe: ''Grow Up" GT Da Guitarman Tells Olisa Adibua by naturalwaves: 10:56am On Oct 24, 2012
2sexy: brother, your comment is a detailed extension of what I said earlier.

Besides, the Nigerian music industry does not encourage people like him. I remember reading where he said he is not going to follow the crowd nor change the kind of song he sings. Now, that's what I call passion. This guy and Timi portray and reflect passion when they sing.

You see the love for music in them. Another good one Dare Art Alade.

Most of Naija singers are just singing because of the money. It is not surprising to see people entring the industry at age 17,18,20 etc and call themselve singer or musician. And when they sing noise the whole naija go haywire.

I think GT need branding and packaging with a carved niche for himself. For me I am lover of blues, R&B. Like some said, he should try to collabo with those who have had successes. He shouldn't think he can do all alone. There are many more like him with passion for the game who aren't known, my elder brother inclusive. My elder brother has been singing long before we heard about 2face, psquare etc and from childhood but nobody knows him but he hasn't given up. The guy is multitalented and adapt to any kind of rythm.

For me, naija music industry is not for me even though I got the voice and passion like GT. I don't want to deviate from what I love singing, which is blues, R&B. And that's why I dont even want to go into the industry but would rather grad, and get a job in the oil industry lol.

Naija people like noise and GT,Timi don't sing that kind of music. Thus, not know as much as their counterparts.
Brian Mcknight, Boy2Men(my mentors),Joe etc
Blues, R&B till die!
I agree with almost every thing you have been saying except for the part you said OTHER MUSICAL ARTISTES ARE SINGING NOISE. That's not true! Every genre of music has it's own characteristics. In Nigeria at the moment, RnB, Soul and Blues are not well listened to like the other genres which are on the high side. The fact that a song is loud or has fast beats does not in any way make it less important to some other slow songs.

As for GT, he needs to be a lil bit more consistent. He has been around for about 6 years or more but only few tracks can be traced to his name. He shouldn't wait for big shows(he is not yet there). He should hustle less paying shows and performances, anything can happen from there. IMO, he was not yet mature for the limelight when he was signed into Storms. They saw a talented kid and quickly tied him down (maybe for selfish reasons). GT neeeds a lot of grooming. It is not enough to have a good voice and few tracks. He should work on his Publicity AFAP.

ote author=naturalwaves]They will soon come and blame Fashola for this now. Whenever anything happens in Lagos, it is Fashola.Funny people. The Police officer must be so daft and heartless to have killed someone for such a minor offence. At least, he could have shot the bike by the tyres or something. I've been following the Nigerian Police lately and I've observed that they don't know how to shoot on target, they just point and shoot. Who knows, maybe that's why they get killed so fast anytime there is a gun duel between them and armed bandits. They don't appear to be well trained atall.
Let me tell you one single truth today,if fashola didn't bring up okada rider ban the police won't use that as oppotunity to kill innocent man,am sorry to say this but this is truth all the government in Nigeria are so stupid, selfish, greedy, daft and useless beast....if they are not they won't be acting in that manner....there is no job and people are taking risk to feed their family yet you want to take that away from them...point how many factory or company the government establish to create job oppotunityhuh?the so call beast are even taking aways the means at which people find earning.....concerning okada do you know how many laws they have impose on them and they still stck to it but yet what happenhuhfashola just want arm robbers in the street....they asked them to buy crash helmet they did, they ask them to have riders card they did....in Lagos if any car knock okada man down the blame still go to okada whyhuh?go to benin republic and see if what they use most...is okada and there law if you are using car and you knock person on okada down straight to jail or do you want to tell they are using okada because they can't afford cars?remeber cars is very cheap there....I almost get knock down by a man using is own just for the sake that he want to change his lane without trafigating....why is it that we Nigerians are always blind about the bad side of okada riders and not face the fact about them...the reason government issue riders card because they are capable to transport citizen but who is at fault?some people drive car in Lagos they don't laws they will just jump from there lane without pointer on..so just face the reality...apart from okada they will go to market and park people who are trading try to be helpful to themself and their family inside black mary but the are not criminals...criminal scout free and innocent people people were pack like stock fish in blackmaria..but their own children never struggle but they enjoy the country wealth as they feel like but remind fashola and other today that all those able man and boys they render useless in the street or ghetto will be the one to kill their children when they return home to Nigeria...today or later...
I don't think the ban on Okada was a TOTAL one. They were only restricted from moving in some certain areas (which are well indicated on such roads) and the Expressway as well. They were restricted from the Express roads due to safety reasons and in some areas dut to security reasons. If you leave in a busy area in Lagos, you will see the degree of lawlessness of these Okada men. Most of them don't know how to ride, they overtake you from the right when you are driving. Even when you trafficate to turn right into a diversion or a street on your right, they will always still want to speed past before you turn. Knock down one of them in the process, and they will be allover you. You know how many people have been knocked down by bike men due to taking one-ways and failure to comply with other traffic laws? I have escaped being knocked down severally as well.Even when you walk by the road sides, these bike men won't allow you walk freely.

Okada is still very much useful in a kind of city like Lagos despite all the negatives. I will never suggest a total ban of them and the Government is not doing that as well. The restrictions are still okay as a way of striking a balance.
why i said so , is that his two promo tracks "oyato" and "go down" no make sense.
Lolz. They are not the Promo tracks. They are just singles. It is just a mild strategy to stay relevant at all times. That's D'banj's strategy and it has been working for him all this while since 2004. Moreover, to say an albulm will be a flop based on two initial tracks is a fallacy!

WHEN AM I GONNA SEE WHAT I WANT TO SEE?

THE TIME IS TICKING AND I CAN'T WAIT NO MORE.

DO DREAMS EVER COME TRUE IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD?

That was exactly what GT sang in his debut song 'The Dreamer' some years back and what is happening to him at the moment paints a perfect picture of that lamentation. The challenges of this life are just so so numerous.

No, it is the Chancellor of Germany's fault. Odestein! Why should Fashola be blamed for the actions of a Trigger happy policeman? Did he instruct anyone to shoot at sight? Did he tell anyone to use firearms in protecting the law? You are a lil bit daft so I will help you with this example; Your Dad tells your Teacher to flog you whenever you fail to do your assignment. You failed to do that on one occasion, the teacher attempts flogging you, you started running away and something terrible happens to you in the process through the teacher. Will your dad be blamed for trying to instill discipline in you? Or will you blame him for the over zealous action of the teacher? What exactly will you blame him for?.
thelastPope: Something is wrong with your brain
.

See what is coming out from a self acclaimed Pope's mouth.Remove that POPE from your Monika cos you are not worth being related with that name . Well, refer to the example I gave you up there, re-read and re-read it until your brain deciphers it. By the time you are through, you will see that it is your own brain that something is truly wrong with.
thelastPope: How do you use firearms to enforce traffic laws? Where in the world do you do that? Eediot!
Yeah, it is a bad idea to use firearms to protect a traffic law. The Policeman must be mad for doing that without being instructed to.
thelastPope: Continue to spill blood as you like! Time will tell!
This should be directed to the Trigger happy fellow as well. Time will tell!

Yeah, Multi tasking is a very good thing in technology and that was why the Microsoft OS sold a lot when it was first introduced.Playing games on mobile phones is not much of a bad idea provided they are soft ones like Chess, River test etc but the way my friends mention and describe the type of HD games they play,it looks so serious like something that will be similar to handling a proper console. That was Y I said that.Nice argument U got there though.

Exactly! The hanger works like magic. The funny thing is that the ladies ask for ones number at times after the hanger but it is not gauranteed. The best shot is still to do the asking by oneself which can't be turned down.

ikekings: Lol... For my naija girls, you are sitting on a long thing... Though, you are right about the “hangers” of a thing, it works... But, not to the extent of her asking for your number...
You can easily ask for her number at the point where she says "So, how do I.........?" Cos it is only natural for her to give it freely so that she can always get any complete info should the need be.Like I said, the moment you can get her to start asking questions (not insultive ones),the deed is done. Both parties will be free to exchange contacts.
Honestly speaking, I have never been failed by the HANGER, they always ask for contacts after that (maybe it is because I know how to use it well). For those that are not very good at it, you can as well ask for her contacts without her asking first after using the hanger to the best of your ability. I bet, she can never turn you down at this point.

Lolz @ your job is to defend and not attack. So, you have the defenders, attackers, midfielders and a goal keeper. Your goal keeper is gonna suffer the most. You got a coach? Or your team has none? #dont mind me, just providing some comic relief#

On a more serious note, a mere report of an irregularity should not be termed as a direct tribal attack cos a particular tribe was mentioned in the report and I see that happen a lot of times particularly in the Crimes section.IMO, issues should be discussed based on the way they appear but we have so many Tribalists particularly Yorubas and Ibos on NL( The Hausas are even afraid so afraid to be a partaker) such that the first thing they look out for in any report is the name of the accused person so they can start fueling or defending as the case may be and it is a great shame on such a forum like this with all the educated fellows here.

Sky Blue: You're not even ashamed to note that we had GMs in the aviation industry when Dana crash happened after several warning incidents. Nigerians generally have no shame sha. That incident should have been enough to make people lose their jobs if they refused to retire voluntarily!
So, you meant to say that those GMs were responsible for the crash? I want to believe you are kidding right? Tell me how they should be held responsible for the crash with respect to where they failed in their duties. Moreover, a good Leader takes responsibility for whatever happens. I tell you something, if heads need to roll due to imcompetence, the Minister should be the first to go. That's what they do in developed nations. Infact, the Minister would have resigned if such happened there but the love of money, power and greed won't let her do that. I remember Obasanjo sacked the then Minister of Aviation, Babalola Aborishade during those famous crashes of Sosoliso and Bellview.

Okay, this is better from you. I guess aside the topic, your duty is also to defend the Ibos.Sounds funny! You guys should take it easy. This your defence above should have been the first thing. Since you feel the OP and MODS are trying to create sentiments, won't it be better to direct the verbal attacks on them that it is not gonna work rather than on a whole tribe.

Moreover, taking the case to those Organisations you mentioned will take almost Eternity before it can be concluded. I think the employment was a back door one.Let's wait and see what comes out of all these.

What do you want her Aide to say before? Or you want the Aide to be shown the door as well? You know this is Nigeria and that his how those under Public officers behave wrt to their bosses. Some even go as far as telling lies.I have been following your stand all these while and I see that you do not seem to care maybe or not it is true or false. afam4eva: I guess it's ok if a ministry is flooded with Northerners and south-westerners but it's a crime if south-easterners dominate a ministry. I'm totally against nepotism and favoritism in the civil service but i see hypocrisy at play here. I wonder how many ministries south-easterners dominate. Go to other ministries and tell me which region dominate.
You are being biased. So, because some Ministries have a larger dominance of some tribes is enough reasons for her to start sacking people unjustly and then put people of her tribe there? The possibility of favourism cannot be ruled out in Nigeria but there is need for a common sense and conscience in doing such.If it were an open recruitment and a lot of persons from several tribes are qualified and she uses a bit of tribal sentiments, people wouldn't have raised much eyebrow but filling the available spots with some incompetent people is not good enough.

Why did she sack the GMs even without a tangible reason(s). I guess it is because they earn a huge salary which she needs a share of by putting people she knows under the guise of doing them a favour. This is a total abuse of power! The woman looks so gentle and was sheding some crocodile tears during that Dana crash. I never knew she was this heartless.

RomanceRe: How To Get A Woman Phone Number And Email In 3minutes Or Less Anytime, Anyplace by naturalwaves:
Nice try OP but that won't work all the time. What leads to the request for the email addy in the first place? That's where a bulk of the work is. As for me, I don't ask for numbers or anything, they do the asking. How? According to research, the best opening line of all time is the word 'HI' and every other thing follows. The time frame one has to get the number will determine the type of approach. In some cases, u got to do so in 10 minutes or less. In some other cases, you have more time.I tell you something, irrespective of the time frame and the approach to be decided upon, the most important thing is to work on oneself first of all. It is very important to be an all round person or at least try to by being well grounded in Entertainment, Politics, Fashion, Feminine stuffs, Geography,Sports,Feminine stuffs, Philosophy,Psychology, Health etc just to mention a few. A surface reading of all these and more is usually okay. A good sense of humour is very important as well. When you combine the in-built knowledge with a good approach, you will have no problem.

The type of approach to be used depends on a whole lot of factors from the environment to the atmosphere to the type of lady(the way she is dressed, walks, etc), the amount of time you have. There are several approaches which are just too numerous to mention and explain in this space (PM me for more info.lolz).There is a very important need to be highly OBSERVANT before the/ an approach style is used.

Lest I forget, you must learn or practice how to use HANGERS(my personal name for a method).Hangers are very very important. What is a hanger? A hanger is an incomplete story or an incomplete information. Ladies are generally curious, they like to know the end of most things.Using several hangers while communicating will only increase their curiosity and when they start asking questions, the deed is done. Infact, you can then bring your knowledge on the subject matter to the fore again as well as a sense of humour. If you make use of the hanger effectively and you tell a lady that, "oh,sorry, I got to go now".I bet, she will request for your contact without you asking. You will hear something like "So, how do I .............?(A hanger gave birth to this question). Let me have your contacts so I can........". You give it to her, tell her to beep you, wait till your phone rings and tell her you got it. Shikena!!! Even if she doesn't call lateron and you do the calling, she would be very happy to hear from you and the rest follows. THE GOOD THING ABOUT THIS METHOD IS THAT, YOU MAKE HER FEEL SHE NEEDS YOU MORE THAN YOU DO TO HER.NEVER NEVER NEVER APPEAR DESPERATE.
Note: It is not compulsory to end with a hanger all the time. You can ask for her number as well when you are ready to go once a good communication has been maintained.

In all, A GOOD APPROACH opens the floor for a conversation. A GOOD GRASP AND COMMAND OF GENERAL KNOWLEDGE + A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR carries you through the conversation.Ability to make good use of HANGERS does the final magic.

#Remember to dress well, speak well and do not forget the best opening line of all which is a simple and harmless "Hi"# Cheers!!!!!

Trust D'banj, his albulm should come out soon. Moreover,he has nothing to prove to anyone again having sang in about 38 songs from 2004-2012 with several monster hits, so, an UNLIKELY decline in his music career should be no big deal as no one can reign forever. I think the Op is da.ft. Where in the news did Action Congress of Nigeria vow to challenge the result? He even posted some laughable pics which showed his biased stand. They never said the election was rigged. There is nothing bad in trying to scrutinize the outcome of an election. If Mimiko, Oshiomole and the rest hadn't scrutinized previous elections, they wouldn't have discovered the loop holes and then challenge the credibility of the previous elections. Although, this election seems free and fair, it not bad to study the process and results.

Away from that, the PDP didn't perform badly atall to have pulled 155k + votes. What this means is that a sizeable amout of the populase believes the reign of the PDP was better in the state.

As for the A.CN, 143k + is not bad atall for a party that has never been tested in that state.

It is obvious that Ondo state is not yet ready for modern development and transformation. An ABIYE health program and building of markets was enough to return the Governor. This State is really really lagging behind.Mimiko was quick to spot that and really capitalized on it by banking on rural projects. Congrats to Mimiko!
