My dear, when it comes to marriage, don't ever turn a dead ear on the advice of your family.

An Aunt of mine (my mum's younger sister she's late now) who was a senior staff in the bank got married to her husband years ago while I was still in secondary school.

Everyone in the family was against that marriage, I myself being quite young couldn't see what they were seeing cos the guy in question was so cool, and whenever he visits us he showers me with gifts.


My aunt literally fought everyone in the family (my mum inclusive) over this man until they just gave into her demands and she got married to the man.

After marriage, the man changed, I don't know if it was low self-esteem he was suffering from, but he was complaining about how she comes back so late. She should choose between him and her bank job. And mind you my aunt was earning far higher than him.

To cut the long story short, my aunt resigned from her job, oga started mis behaving, he won't bring out money for the up keep of the house, things got so bad that my aunt delivered her first son in our house.

Her husband literally didn't care about her wellbeing, nothing, we started hearing rumors that he's womanizing, although we couldn't confirm it, with time he went physical on my aunt, started beating her, with time she got sick and eventually died during the birth of her second child. Her husband immediately remarried.

Don't rush into this marriage, try to see things from their view, they might be right, he might be marrying you for your money. So many men look for financially independent women to get married to then get intimidated by her wealth in the course of the marriage.

The truth is from the way you sound, you never gave her space in that relationship. You always wanted to know where she is, who's with her, who called her, who she took pictures with... etc. And even went as far as reporting her to her sister... believe me, if she harboured any iota of love for you, that attitude ensured that it died.

Next time when you meet a girl, give her space, don't make yourself a monitoring spirit towards her, ignore certain things unless you're 100% sure that she's cheating before you confront her. 1. Be focused. One of the reasons why most people spend 8 years for a 4 year course is because they loose focus. Learn to cultivate the habit of reading, stay away from social media and focus on your books.

The university environment is a place that houses the good the bad and the ugly, if you forget why you're there, you would get lost in the pool.

2. Mind the company you keep. Whether you're a guy or girl, the friends you make in your first year would determine if you'll graduate with your mates, drop out or worse die along the way.

3. Draw close to God. I was a member of NIFES back then in school and I must confess that my joining them wasn't a waste. I joined them during my year one clearance and they really helped me so much.

There where seniors in my department who were in the fellowship who helped me with course handouts, past questions, tutorials... etc. I even ate free meals in their houses and had the opportunity of using my time on campus to serve God.

4. Avoid bars and clubs within the school environment. As a fresher if you're the type that clubs and drink regularly, chances are you would be initiated into a campus secret cult sooner or later. And I don't need to tell you that you'll most likely end up dead, jailed, maimed or constantly on the run for the rest of your life on campus.

5. Avoid girls. Many young guys have lost their lives on campus because of girls, many have been robbed, beaten, and even failed severally by lecturers because of girls. If you want to go far as a student stay away from them and focus on why you're in school.

6. Be Prudent with your money. Your parents struggled to send you to school, manage whatever little they can afford to give to you, buy what you need and stay away from things that would make you spend money unnecessarily like betting and women.

Nigerians (Africans) are groomed from their parents houses that chores are for girls, while provision is for men.

That's why you see some girls who are students living with their brothers and while they do his chores, he would assist her with school fees and other emergency fees their parents can't come up.

For me I'd say next time if it's a liter of juice, dish it out yourself or better still come with two glasses cos from your post, I believe it's safe to conclude that you come with just one glass.

With two glasses on the table, even the dumbest person would know that it's meant for two people.

Sometimes it's not really hunger that's worrying them (especially the guys) they might just conclude that you're being generous and innocently empty the drink.

You cannot upgrade a 2008 Camry muscle to 2014 version. The highest you can upgrade it to is 2011.
