cheesy

I think we have to invest in technology in this evil and desperate times.

BELIEVE ME, 90% OF ALL THIS KIDNAPPING IS ORCHESTRATED BY SECURITY OFFICIALS LIKE

THE POLICE AND ARMY...
THEY ARE THE RING LEADERS.

Phone tracking is very easy and effective but the police won't use it, they'll just give excuses.

The technology I'm suggesting is GPS implants.
People should start implanting gps trackers so they can be tracked.

This will have it's disadvantages but I think it's the only way out to curb this evil
Very thoughtful, not just that, they should install mini satellites in their blokos, the latest versions requires you shave your head "gorimapa", your shiny reflective shaved head is then used to receive and transmit satellite tracking signals. Once kidnapped, once you shake your balls, point your head to the sky for clearer signals, police will pinpoint you and land with drone to rescue you.
Voila!

I pity you and your family
You pity his family? Do you know if he even stays in Nigeria? Do you know if he earns his pay in dollars or pounds here in naija? My guy stays in ibadan but earns 4k+ pounds monthly. My blood brother who lives in the US, but here for the last 3 months earns his money in the US but he is here in naija, having so much fun, to go back no sweet am. That ibadan guy now has to change less and less amount monthly, before it was 700 pounds, now he only need to change 200 pounds to get the value of 700 pounds in Naira.
To say you pity him and his family is too weighty. Don't pity people ohh, use that energy on your own circumstance.

Let them keep speculating and buying.

What would piss me off is if the Tinubu regime does not have an end game that will make those buying dollars and stocking it up, shed bitter tears of regret in the near term.

Even as a layman, I know series of actions I can take that would make cash dollars start appearing in refuse dumps in Nigeria as they would have become so useless to those stocking it up outside of the banking system, while those who have them in their domiciliary accounts will be offloading them within the approved banking currency exchange the sooner they get foreign remittances only into such accounts.
Even the politicians you so loyally defend are the ones doing the big dollar speculation. De play.
Some of us knew and even predicted it here that naira will tank against the dollar immediate the new regime took over. It's was easy to predict. Why? Common sense. All the monies alleged to have been warehoused by politicians expecially the ruling party for the elections but could not be used because of Emefieles new naira policy, would put pressure as those money would be converted to dollars for easy handling, movement abroad, to preserve its value. Even oga at the top was rumored to have warehoused 150b. Abi why do you think the rufai and the rest went to court? For the masses? Lol.
Which right headed person will keep his money in Naira with how apc is destroying the country? My paddies 40m, worth $250k 9 years ago is now worth a mere $26k! Last year may I was broke and changed $2k from my dom acct. I got ₦1.4M. Today, not up to 8 months that same $2k is ₦3m! Is this not madness! 2022 october I bought $4k for ₦1.68m today that same money is ₦6m!
Only a crazy person will keep his money in Naira. The government has made Nigerians loose confidence in the naira.

Negroid001:
Same with dogs, squirrels and a host of others. Africans are superstitous. Your fear of bats stems from brainwashing, not experience.
Oga, I just cut 2 trees in my house because of bats, just 1 moth ago .
There were lots of them, active at night. How do we know if one gets rabid, bites someone or even a dog that now attacks people? My bingos know no life outside the compound so it is only through bats infections can come in. We have no squirrels here in urban Lagos.
2 twice I have seen rabies and what it can do. Many years ago, down my street, a young girl was bitten or scratched by a bat. About 10 year old. That girl went through hell, it got to a stage she was barking, frothing from he r mouth till she died.
2nd time I have written on this forum before. If you know anyone in UI 1993, surely they will give you the gist of when a profs dogs went rabid along Amina way biting people. I saw a lady walking, a dog sneeked on her from behind and grabbed a chunk of flesh from her leg and ran off with the "beef" in its mouth! That was how knew something was wrong. The whole area went on shutdown with gunshots all over. Long story, 15-20 people were bit and had to take rabies vaccines at huge cost.
Nothing like superstition, brainwashing here, you do not need bats around you, especially if you have pets or worse, kids, why? Kids may not tell you something scratched them, before you know, symptoms show and at that stage, a painful death is inevitable.

Chai. See superstitious people.
A bat once flew into my uncle's apartment and luckily I was around that fateful day. I caught it with my bare hands and dashed outside to release it back to it's wherever abode. My uncle got mad at me that i had let his village people go just like that. He's a staunch catholic.

Bats are harmless. They are a special breed. So cute.
Oga, seems you don't know bat is one of the main sources of rabbis.
Hope you know rabbis has a 100% mortality rate. Once bitten and the vaccine is not taken with 24 hours, that person is walking dead. Once the symptoms start, that is the end of the person, no treatment. Only 1 person is known to have survived, an American girl, bitten by a bat, the treatment given to her could not be replicated on other patients.

Both men in the below videos all died.
If you have a tree with bat's in your house, please cut it down.

Throwback:
Tinubu made it clear that the dollar should trade for whatever value those who are demanding it are willing to pay for it.

The question then is why are Nigerians so concerned about the naira value of the dollar?

The exchange rate is not a value of our local economy.

We were never a bigger economy than the USA when our Naira traded higher to a dollar on the 1960s and 1970s.

The UK is not a bigger economy than the USA despite the exchange rate between the British Pound and the US Dollar.

The government should focus on our local economy and achieving local sustenance, and ignore the exchange rate speculators.

As long as the average Nigerian can get all their needs and have enough left for savings and investments for the future, the exchange rate would be nothing but a number, just as it was when we had a higher exchange rate but a poorer economy compared to the US economy.
Yeah, it has been said before, all the average Nigerian needs is cassava, garri, ewa to be contented. As you said let's focus on our local economy. We trek to go to work, we jog to visit relatives, we bath with black soap, brush out teeth with chewing stick, use local herbs for medicine, use human shit for as fertilizer for growing crops etc.

Bros, some Nigerians have lost hope. That hard work, how long will the average Nigerian do the hard work to buy that 18 years old 2006 corolla for ₦4,650,000? Let's assume the average Nigerian makes ₦150k monthly as salary, for him to buy that car with a 36 months (3years) financing without deposit, he will cough out 130k per month for 36 months assuming it is interest free. Old motor ohh, not brand new. Even with the current exchange rate, that corolla will now be around 6-7m.
130k out of 150k salary just for moto, rent, food etc nko?
In short, the question is, how will the average Nigerian earning 150k monthly be able to ever ride moto without involving himself in "wayo"?
Even the policemen that arrested them, how much is their salaries compared to their lifestyle?
Seems as naija gets harder, purchasing power reduces, poverty rise, crimes such as done by the 22 year old guy may increase as hardwork is viewed as not rewarding.

Bottomline, we are before our korokoro eyes being dragged into mass poverty. This one is live show.
At this rate, you may be buying 2003 corolla for 15 m by December.
I am of the opinion God has abandoned Nigeria and left it to rot. We made our choices, right or wrong and we must live with the consequences.
How can we, in 6 months have over 100% devaluation? Even countries under sanctions, wars etc don't have this happen to them.
Russian troubles was 55 to the dollar before the war, after war it went up to 100, came back to 60, 90 today it is roughly 89 troubles to $1 despite facing the most sanctions ever placed on a country and fighting war at the same time.
Why is ours as Nigerians always different? We were importing petrol as a crude oil producing country, dangote refinary was built, now we import crude oil.
The fact check of that video is irrelevant, because apc and Tinubu has not just inflicted Nigerians with poverty, he has single handedly destroyed the purchasing power of Nigerians.

A time is coming when all these lies would not be tenable
Bros to an extent this fellow might not be too far from the truth. Why? My first time of relating with the eastern part of Nigeria was when I went for nysc at abia state. After orientation we moved to the city, Aba. The major cooperate entities I noticed was a certain "slok", the new generation banks eg standard trust bank with just 1 branch visible, Zenith bank too. But all over was slok this slok that, just as you visit that Kofo Abayomi in vi and you think Zenith bank owns the whole Lagos. Infact most of us coppers felt slock was a goverment owned agency, not until later we heard it was privately owned.
Remember how there were brand new official vehicles all over Lagos branded by banks as their official cars back in the late 90s, 2000 etc. That was how slock was with drivers and cooperate staff. Trucks, vans etc. Eg Slock computers, slock printing, slock foods, furniture's, seafood etc. All this was around 1995/96, way before the man joined politics 1999.
Currently, I know this kalu fella owns the biggest maritime oil servicing company in West Africa. He owns vessels that provide support services to offshore oil rigs. We are not talking of 1 or 2, but at least 15. I hear he also provides things like house boats for accommodating oil industry workers along with its intendent services eg catering. Note that all his services are paid for in dollars. Nothing like naira. This man is a coded billionaire. The real odogwu.
Go to YouTube and check out his village home built in the mid 90s before he ventured into politics. That place is called NEYA or so. That one no be house, it was built in copy of camp David, the US government owned presidential retreat.

Nigeria's case is abracadabra.
The more you look the less you see. What works in other countries will never work in Nigeria. When there is increase in oil prices, other countries make billions, their currency gets stronger, but you see Nigeria under apc, the case is opposite. Under Obj, excess earning paid Nigeria's debt, under Jonathan, it made us the largest economy on Africa and kept naira below 200m. Under the evil, recessionist, bloodsucking, poverty inflicting cursed apc, increase in oil price only brought poverty!
Dangote has built refinary in Africa's no1 crude oil exporter, but dangote has to "import" crude from the US in $$! Foto!, No be juju be that?
Ok, we were importing petrol, diesel, because of that refinary was built, abtacadabra! We now import crude to refine. Is that not 1000 steps forward and 1001 steps backwards? How will this reduce the cost of fuel or boost the value of naira?.
I am getting convinced daily we handed this country into the hands of a gang of criminals. We gave our yams to goats for safe keeping.
