Oga, leave that old story. We were not exporting anything during the many years before these evil apc people came in yet naira was stable against the pounds @240 for over 16 years. In that period dollar was relatively stable from 120 to 190 before the elections that removed Jonathan.
That story that we don't export is what politicians tell you while they plunder. Abi you did not hear 1 recharge card seller alone accumulated over 1.5 trillion? You did not hear for the last elections oga at the top was alleged to have warehoused over 150b and same with other governors, 100b, 75b etc. They even went as far as going to court to fight the fellow thief cbn governor that knew about the warehoused excess cash and so introduced new naira to frustrate tham from unleasing that money as he knew it will cause heavy inflation.
Now, those politicians have control of the cbn etc, what do you think will be the first thing they will do with those warehoused billions they could not spend? Is it not to change it to fx, ie dollars, pounds, euros for ease of storage or to move abroad? They even removed the cap of forex paid into domiciliary accounts so those monies could be easily banked.
Do you not realise that the pressure of such huge monies chasing little dollar will crash the value of naira against the dollar?

We thought it was bad Nigerians could not afford brand new cars, something before, you get a mint Honda civic for 3.5m, now close to 30m brand new. We paid deposit and 45k monthly to service the loan payments. Now even 600k monthly cannot service car loan of that same civic.
Now, even accidented vehhicles are out of the reach of ordinary Nigerians.
My paddy who was owed money 8 years ago in Naira was owed 45m, then valued at roughly $300k. He won the money finally through legal means, today the money is usless, it is now worth a mere $40k!
