NwaAmaikpe:I'm not sure what you mean by that... even if your time is not up, do you want to be severely injured for the rest of your life because you didn't take simple precautions? Or are you going to say that you were predestined to be injured for the rest of your life, so it doesn't matter? |
He was a funky guy even then... it funny somebody said he looked like a stray dog, but that just means ladies don't recognize potential when they see it. ![]() |
NwaAmaikpe:Now we do ![]() |
motherfucker:This is also very good advice. I was advocating for getting a job, but there is wisdom in your post. If the OP can be dedicated and focused, he should be able to make this work. |
DreManuel:Yes, money market fund would be better than savings actually. I suppose I meant to say cash or equivalents (meaning money that has zero risk of loss) |
Nice one. I like the concept - loyalty - and the videographer tried sha... Thumbs up. |
jwax:OK. Wise of you to have saved this much. Keep this money in a savings account and forget about it. This is your emergency funds/house foundation fund, etc in the future. Like you say, it's not enough to rent shop and it's not really an investment amount. I think it will be wasted if you go into real estate, or farming of any sort, because you will be undercapitalized. I think the best thing is pretend this money is not there, and go and hustle on your first job. Good luck! |
As an investment whose value rises with time? Yes, since I can auction it later for much more. I'd never drive it, store it in a professional garage with climate control, preferably abroad. It would get annual tuning and checkup. But as a car to drive? Absolutely not. Just the insurance alone is enough to build house. And where would you drive it in Naija? You most likely need premium gas, 91 octane or better, which is near impossible to find in Nigeria |
oloriadebusola:It's not that no good can come from it; but for every amputee soldier who joined the army voluntarily to serve, there are 10 innocent civilians - who didn't have a choice - maimed or killed by soldiers. Even if the civilian offended the soldier, is the cost of one's life a fair price to pay? |
adem30:How does: "we don't want to be part of the zoo, those people are wicked" equate with "kill those sub humans, they are lower than poo". One side wishes to leave, and the other side threatens to kill. The new rhetoric from the north is far more alarming, don't you think? |
oloriadebusola:I don't understand... such rigorous training and sacrifice should translate to more gallant behaviour, don't you think? I respect our armed forces, but I fail to see how somebody well trained, instilled with honour and duty, should descend so low as to attack harmless civilians. If civilians had the right to bear arms, I doubt we'd see such callous abuse of power. |
kufre2010:I don't believe he's saying that. What we have here is abuse of power by military people who harass innocent victims. No civilian in his right mind would insult a military officer/recruit, yet see how brutal they are in Nigeria. What did that cripple man do to deserve that beating? What about that lady? Or the guy who called the officer beautiful? Or the guy who asked where he could ease himself? Or countless other victims whose only crime is being a Nigerian civilian? If there are such abuses of power in the West, the officer in question is reprimanded, and demonstrations/riots may follow. It's a sad shame in Nigeria that nobody can come to the aid of the victims, for fear of being killed by the people who have been trained to defend us. Superior officers don't care to cull the behavior, so if we show fear and loathing for soldiers, please understand. |
opeaceo:Well this is part of the debate: why after all the noise made, does SE have such low, actually tabulated, rice production figures? Also it starts to put to question how that region could survive on its own... as in, what else are they touting that is actually not on ground? But to your question, I imagine it's the cost of production, mechanization, transportation and other efficiency that make imported rice competitive/cheaper. I don't know if it's still the case, but imported rice tended to be old stock - and so discounted. |
mofeoluwadassah:You have a point, but think about this. The guy was busy or had to be someplace. The ATM and the pharmacy are a keke ride away and will take at least 30-50 minutes and will cost more to carry everybody. Instead, give atm card to one of them to take bike and get the cash and medicine. From my place in Delta to the nearest ATM could take as much as 30 minutes depending on if you find bike, and traffic. I'd imagine something similar in Nasarawa. If people are trustworthy, there would be nothing to worry about. One would imagine parents would be so grateful for the help and trust, that twy wouldn't breach it. Unfortunately, his trust was misplaced. |
Area fada... e rọra oh. Welu nwayo. The way things are heating up everywhere, I wonder what is going on... |
Sunofgod:Before nko? Only those with correct papers get time for protesting and snapping ![]() |

shervydman:The sad thing it's now 2017 and we're still not even where America was 100 years ago (1917) in terms of infrastructure and ability to manufacture. At the rate we're going 2117 will be here and our great-grandchildren will still be complaining about light. |
Etizz:Many houses have been built with shoko... dont' laugh. If he carry, he should know to negotiate before embarrassing himself. 20k down to 1k... who go gree? |
tgmservice:Last I checked, dignity did not buy food or course materials. Dignity does not save our girls from predatory lecturers. When most of our girls sleep for money, and most of our guys pay for sex, which one concerns dignity again? The matter has entered police hands, unfortunately, and both parties are now going to have to pay their tax ![]() |
prettyboi1989:Actually, this is where electric cars shine... since you're not using the motor much for that 1 hour, battery won't discharge much. Just like if you don't use your torchlight, the batteries will last for weeks or months. Conversely, the petrol engine is always cranking (unless you always turn it on and off in go slow). Same with generator... even if you don't use any light, your gen will run out of petrol if run continuously. |
Nevermind... the thing is not even in Naija... check the plates. |
My DNA is also close to Japanese and Indians (we're all human beings and so share 99.99999%) ![]() This guy sef... I'm about to dismiss him as a crackpot |
Nice one. Now if only they can also have the following: - petrol for their vans - working vehicles - honest carriers who won't steal your package - workers who actually show up to work instead of gossip - light, so that the computers will be useful to turn code into location - network, so that when they lookup a package they will know how to route it - light, yes again, so they can charge the mobiles they will use to check gps |
Phut:Good point, now I understand where you're coming from. |
RETIREDMUMU:If you negotiate and settle propertly, then nothing to fear. Don't misbehave and you'll be OK ![]() |
Na so? They won't punish them when they are collecting motivation money or road tax, but to take picture na wahala? |
Phut:Na wao phut, giving somebody F9 when we're just enjoying the funny and literal interpretations of the short names. Those who know - like me - got a laugh out of it. But I suppose it's good for those who don't know to also see the actual meanings. |
Phut:These are supposed to be funny and literal interpretations of the short names. Those who know - like me - got a laugh out of it. But I suppose it's good for those who don't know to also see the actual meanings. |
EgunMogaji:Since you have exacting standards, I'll be getting in touch with them. Thanks. |
Suspect33:Like 60-80k if you move up to Okpanam side (which is just up the road from Asaba, and keke is like 150), but could be as high as 170k if you move closer to the roundabout. |
