Investors bring machines, money, modern technology, and we're dashing them crocodiles. And I'm sure somebody budgeted 5M for "crocodile catching", like that for glass clearing. Smh ![]() At least with Chinese, that crocodile no go waste ![]() |
Aw hell yeah... I'd be all over that, but I'm sure a few lesbians on NL are reaching for their ... ![]() * I didn't say she's lez oh.... just imagining that lez would find her attractive too * |
jfleece:You have a much greater chance of making money outside football. How many players are there that earn big bucks? 2000? How many engineers, lawyers, doctors, and entrepreneurs make big bucks? Several 10s of millions. For every 1 player that hits jackpot, there are thousands that were not lucky or skilled enough. And BTW, the people paying these footballers' salaries... most often never played football. ![]() |
Did you payoff your parents' mortgage or fund their retirement accounts. Did you buy house? Something modest that you can maintain long after your career has ended. Cars are nice, but they won't put food on the table when things are hard. |
Well done! And to do so in times of emotional difficulty is doubly commendable. |
As shown, all the money is used to pay salaries/bonuses. Nothing for infrastructure/schools/hospitals. Does this mean that Osun will never develop past its current level? It needs to generate more revenue (like most states in Nigeria, BTW) |
I was also going to wish my right hand a very happy birthday, for always being there for me. And special shout out to vaseline for working together with my right hand ![]() |
NwaAmaikpe:Are you being sarcastic? There's nothing wrong with children learning to be responsible with money. Most adults get into serious trouble with money management because they were not taught early. If somebody is miserly, they would have been so anyway, and that's usually a sign of lack. Teach your child to save 20%, tithe 10%, use 60% for your living, and flex with the remainder 10%. I will also echo the very smart comment by lPOB: |
BiafraIShere:This is very insightful... sad that our leaders are not paying attention |
itsdumebi:I dunno about you, but I wouldn't use the word misunderstanding to describe the fact that somebody got shot and killed by police. |
You're praising federal government for the hard work and investments of private companies? That's like praising federal government because pure water is available by the sweat of sellers. The one steel plant that there were supposed to fix and get working - the anchor for our steel industry - has been moribund my whole life. Now we have Indian and Pakistani companies repackaging steel (it seems our Nigerian big men and women only know petty trading), and we're jumping for joy. That steel is imported; I would not be surprised it they import scrap steel, melt and reform. Can't make cars or appliances with that crap. Ask where the iron ore comes from; the coal; the electricity. I don't see a viable iron ore mine in nigeria, nor heard of a blast furnance in operation in Nigeria. |
NwaAmaikpe:Obviously many still do. Eventually they will fade out, but why insult an architect for not using the latest tools, so far as the tools convey the same information? NwaAmaikpe:Don't you think it's a good idea? Lighting/ventilation/aesthetics... NwaAmaikpe:So you want to double the number of toilets? If you have kids, can't they share one bathroom? Or if somebody is cooking, you want them to enter the room first, and then bathroom? And what's wrong with guest (residing, and the ones visiting for the afternoon) using the same guest toilet? I also think the location of the guestroom is fine. Close to the palour. Personally, I would rather keep my guestroom away from my kids and the rest of the household. If privacy is an issue, it's a minor inconvenience as guests stay 2-5 days max. OP, never mind this harsh critique, it's a fine floorplan and uses money effectively. No need ensuiting everything like we see. You know how much each toilet adds to budget? If you can have some glass louvres (not casement) separating the courtyard from the hallway/lobby and from the dining room, it could bring fresh air and light into the house. Consider putting some potted plants there. As for cost, I would be surprised if you spent less than 9m on this building. For one, the estimates on door are too low... budget 50k-70k or more if you want doors that last. The simple truth is that you will spend 1.5x to 2x what you budget. There is also the danger that your tastes will expand to fill your budget and you'll still end up spending more money. I would advice finishing the 4 outer walls and roof as quickly as possible. Then plumbing and wiring. Then plaster and finish each room as you go. Even if it's only one toilet and two doors you can buy for now, it's OK. If you can move in before it's finished, you'll save rent where you are now, allowing you a greater chance of completing. Otherwise you'll find yourself in a situation I got into not too long ago: not enough money to finish, and not finished enough to move in. |
Governors should fix roads and provide for good emergency response. How many accident victims will he stop for? Pure show ![]() |
tiger28:Bros you're right oh let me go and find somebody's rover to lean on and snap photo |
Nice wheels on that sc430. That's only the fourth one I've seen so far in Naija. Small boy buy biggie car... Although it looks an awful lot like the one burna was driving the other day... Hmm... |

girl4rmspace:Henna... plant dye... and our Northern girls have been doing it from time immemorial |
Careful oh... At least with Kenyans your business will still be there when you wake up. If you involve us, prepare for missing money, missing car, charms, and stealing your business ideas. Somebody will use your credit card to rent jet, they will pose on Facebook with your dogs, they might sell your house, and even any children you have. Make una no vex, I just recapped nairaland news of the past month ![]() |
You people asking for SARS or road safety... Wetin dem wan do? Oga at the top has no problems with cows roaming the capital city, so what are they supposed to do? You wan make dem fight herdsman? For who? For you? You wan make FRSC die untop cow matta? Herdsman no get license and cow no get particulars. |
Forget all this long talk; give us constant light and reduce tarriff on recording equipment. If things need to be fixed, it's much harder to source part in Nigeria. Just banning up and down without solving the real problem. Next thing they will ask us to stop using generator in order to boost the local discos because generators are made abroad. Without first improving light availability. Smh. |
Caustics:Abeg free the girl. Our hungry male youths will start to control her and tell her what she can and cannot do, all the while using her paycheck to flex with the boys. Smh ![]() |
bantudra:Occupy with soldiers or with civilians? Well think of it, you will now have to assign soldiers to guard it, provide logistics to get food and supplies to those people, which reduces the available mobile fighting force, and introduces mission scope creep. Those you chased out have an advantage in that the know the terrain and can use it against the new residents. At the same time, you can't just leave it alone, because the people you chased out will be back and might fortify the place making it much harder to recapture. |
... Lagosians, please notice that the things blocking the drainage are your own trash. Just making an observation, and hopefully it will sink in... ![]() |
I just hope if/when Biafra comes into being, all the minority traditional rulers would not also be forced to speak in Igbo ![]() |
johnbuck81:If he was actually wealthy, with verifiable and valid income, I'd have no qualms (though wealthy people don't show off) However he's yet another broke-to-small-money nigga overwhelmed by his new-found riches, and predictably like all those before him, focuses on shiny trinkets and other expensive liabilities. He's not the first, won't be the last, and should try to build something lasting that will feed, clothe, and educate his generations when his star stops shining |
