Good riddance, er, I mean safe journey ![]() Our kidnappers, terrorists, robbers, police, will all still be here upon your return. |
OP forgot the most important parts... pay 20k or so to different officers so you can collect your passport within 1 year. mu2sa2:In the US, they call that "expedited service fee" ![]() |
The funds were laundered through the US banking systemAnd as usual, no punishment whatsoever for the Western banks that knowingly laundered stolen money. They earned interest and other investment income on that stolen money, and even paid some tax on their earnings from that stolen money. But absolute silence about their complicity. See folks, this is how you do corruption... nice and quiet. |
yusufu16:I understand that a small percent pay income taxes directly to the gov't. However, 100% of the population do rent/own, eat, drink, move around, buy goods and services, and ultimately add value to the many enterprises that abound in Lagos. That economic activity is what makes Lagos great. I'm not disputing that New York and Tokyo are not for the poor, but these cities also have services and spaces to cater for the working class. You've heard about soup kitchens, hostels for homeless, free showers in public places, etc? All the shoe-shiners, porters, taxi drivers, cooks, busboys, etc (people that socioeconomically match okada riders in Lagos) - they're not exactly rich, but a lot of them also live in New York. Even if there are no Okada, all the people complaining about not being able to get to work... what good has the ban done for them? Ultimately, what I was saying is that governments with vision make a city livable for all. Lagos however is systematically becoming a city for only the wealthy, where the working class has to live in another state. |
yusufu16:Yes, the Gov of Lagos should allow any Nigerian free movement within their own country to work in any legal field they want. If there's a demand, and there's supply, all government need do is regulate so that all sides benefit. Lagos has more people than infrastructure to move them. Lagos is great because of all the people who pour their lives, productivity, hardwork into it. All the factories, banks, real estate, ports, and eventually government taxes, are a result of people's labor. What big cities around the world have done is invest massively into public transportation (e.g bus, trains), not try to limit who can come. Tokyo, New York, London are massive cities that benefit from their large populations. When government provides good transportation infrastructure (which includes good roads all over), and people have a convenient, safe, and affordable mode of getting around, there won't be a need for okada, and so the the supply will dry up on its own. What insane governments do - like we have a lot of in Nigeria - is to blanket ban without giving alternatives, without proper long-term planning. I remember when they started the odd-even plate number system to reduce traffic congestion... those who could simply bought two cars, some just bought a second plate (and paid bribe anytime they were caught), and the rest who could not simply suffered on the days they could not drive. Invest in the same things sane governments have, no... let's ban. |
I really miss the Nollywood of those days. I'm happy to see how far we've come and enjoy the new movies, but those older movies men... fun times |
Nigerians: "Buhari, please help people are being killed on a regular basis" Buhari: "Not my problem... as long as me and my family can travel abroad" USA: "No more immigrant visas, and even visitor visas will be scarce" Buhari: "Right away sir, we will address these issues, as long as me and my family can travel abroad" SMH |
Haters plenty for this forum. Anyway sha, I appreciate you Tiwa. Slaying without effort. |
ikorodureporta:Nigerians travel to US; they are not immune to the flu (since that strain is not common here). They can catch it and bring it back to infect young family members also not immune to the flu. Not that we're going to do anything about it, but there's the concern anyway |
socialmediaman:Actually, let me quote this a different way: "seeing the rubbish service they provide, it's surprising the website is even functional" |
InfoSources:Abi now? Some Nigerians are so quick to marvel at anything outside their own personal experience... there are lots of people around the world who can twist their tongue like this, it's no big deal. Sheesh google image search for "tongue trick clover" and get your minds at ease. |
So nobody is going to comment on the role of society at large... the same people stigmatizing the women are the same ones who watched the videos... I mean, you can't tell for sure unless you've seen the video, so... RIP to the poor lady... the shame must have been just too much to bear. |
Lap dance? What hyperbole in the title. I suppose it worked, because I clicked on it experring berra lap dance. Instead, it's a couple chilling in the club, girl sitting in guy's lap. Man even to write this comment dey annoy me. YINMU |
But to be sincere, this smells like a scam. Who still sends cash in the mail? |
A senator of Nigeria has brought to the Senate's attention, the increase in violence against this country's citizens, and highlighted the inability of the Federal Government to deal with it. People are here being tribalistic and partisan. From all appearances, the violence we're witnessing is not only being visited on certain members of society: among the dead we can count young, old, APC voters, PDP voters, people from NE, SE, NW, SW, middle belt, NC, SS, women, children. Even if it was concentrated in one place, we owe it to each other to prevent the menace from growing, if only because soon it will be our turn. Please, let's call a spade a spade and - with a united voice - tell our elected president he is not doing his job to protect the citizens he leads. There's no point bringing in the past and saying Jonathan or Obasanjo did or did not. The current president is Buhari, and this is happening under his watch. |
Future wife loading... ![]() Uncle Ned just dey eye him back mirror, dey reason how to offload the current obgeraga ... But see car... enough to build 1 or two primary schools for him hometown. |
quirus:Well spoken, however, its a logical fallacy to use the scriptures of a particular religion to argue for the existence of the supernatural. Imagine if you were trying to tell someone (who fervently believes) that Ifa is not real. They will point you to the divination system, the sacrifices, the weather, the long history, and how you cannot dare the gods. Apart from using guns to "re-educate" them (like Oyinbo did), you can only shrug your shoulders. You don't believe there's a giant catfish that shakes the ground (Japan) to cause earthquakes; or that there's a big guy swinging his hammer (Norse, Yoruba) to cause lightning and thunder, do you? Why do you still believe some supernatural beings are responsible for other phenomena that - if investigated - have logical explanations? Everyone is entitled to their beliefs I suppose, but all I can say is: if Ṣàngó, Amadioha, Thor, Zeus, Osiris, etc. have been deemed fictional... what makes the Christian pantheon any less fictional? Just because it's the current flavor-of-the-millenium? Countless self-assured and self-confident religions have come, proclaimed themselves as the only true way, lasted a long while, and have gone. |
We4all:These are both correct. Supernatural beings are an invention of human imagination. Isn't it odd that magical attacks never help the person who uses them? I mean, why not use the magic to directly get money or the position? It's always roundabout, and that's because it fundamentally doesn't work. We4all:You have to apply wisdom. There are many many people who are in sensitive positions in this country to handle (e.g. payroll, accounting, receiveables, etc), and nothing you describe has every happened to them (due to spiritual attack). There are known ways of causing illness through poisoning (e.g. ingesting, or even touching infected materials) - which can be provided by a herbalist, but these are not "spiritual". First you disarm them by being genial and joking with them. Then playfully inform them that they cannot ask for side loans, as it's against policy... you sef are struggling, but you can dash them 2k or something to help. If it gets worse, you can confidentially report the matter to the boss, as you're the company's representative at that level. In this day and age, you can even record your conversation to cover your ass. |
This is January... one of the leanest months in the year for everybody. After going broke celebrating the holidays, the reality of school fees, rent, etc is what people are dealing with. Businesses also undergo cycles, boom and dry spells. It's funny how quick we are to turn to the spiritual, when the most successful countries, there are logical explanations. |
I don't get all the noise. Let those who want run for their party's nomination. Does not matter where from. The party delegates are from all over the country... let them wrangle. Let the up and comers like Sowore and Durotoye also join hands and present their case to the people without abusive rhetoric. All we have to do as citizens is vote wisely. At this stage I do not care about region. I hope our brothers up north, after being let down by Buhari twice, will also realize that state of origin does not determine good leadership. |
Mr Adedayo Thomas, please talk true... have you not watched several foreign films in this 2020 already? Since when did foreign films become illegal? If it's issue of piracy or licensing, I can understand, but blanket ban? It appears somebody has one too many drinks at last night's soiré |
So the solution to the insecurity is more underpaid (or even volunteer), ill-trained, owo-mi-da parasites? Thank you FG for always being consistently clueless. ![]() |
Yes. See that short answer? It's really that simple. You want to be with somebody who makes you happy. Please don't come back here in 4 years complaining that you married a beautiful woman that makes you unhappy. |
Please add Ghana to your list. It's making more sense every year. In fact... Naija don cast. |
kellidoo:Must we show the bad side all the time? Does oyinbo show all the students that die from alcohol poisoning each year on college campuses? "According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, each year sees 1,825 drinking-related deaths of college students"... look it up. Yet oyinbo will not put that in their brochure.. |
Cadets expels for exhibiting the same "indiscipline" practiced and even encouraged among officers and there superiors. Una weh done. |
Mateen1000:My brother, it's not only rich politicians. When I saw how many people can afford to send their kids to this school, I realized that there's a lot of people with money in this country - and not illegally obtained. There are not enough politicians to support these schools. |
Miraculously, stolen joysticks are always restored. I'm yet to see a guy making such a claim, who displays his missing member. It's a shame people still believe this crap. |
OP: when the 8-year old is at school, come home and bang your wife while the 7month old is napping. Weekend nko? Also what is wrong with the "appointment" method, after the kids have gone to bed at night? You can still cuddle with her for a while, at least until one of the children cries and she needs to go back to the other room. Personally, I see this as a non issue. I'm married with kids. |
Why aren't we seriously hearing Osinbajo 2023? This man has shown that he can lead us effectively. Why are we not calling his name to run for 2023? |
Witchersunited:Not in this our Nigeria oh... if you bought sim of fraudster, you don enter am. even when you're just managing one small Smirnoff and asun, if EFCC jam you inside club, you go hear am. ![]() it's good sha... let people learn work |
OP, don't worry. It will return in 2023 ![]() |
