I don’t even know what strategy to employ now ooo

I’m just bracing up for the ban, useless people.

The app to me is better than indriver by far, but why they won’t curb their excessive greed and rigidity is what I don’t get.

Useless
Who told you that? Indriver is the new Sheriff in town. I didn't open Bolt app throughout this month,
There is nothing Bolt is offering that Indriver won't give you. Infact with less stress..
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird:
Bolt is trying to fight back, but it's too late. Indriver has more drivers to fulfill their orders

Was it not you that proved that Sangotedo to VI, about 35km trip, is about 6k untampered price on Indrive?
Why are u now saying 5,500 is d ideal price for a 45km trip that will take at least 90mins to complete?
When did I say it's the ideal price? The examples were used as illustrations to help those picking trips fastest fingers, at a glance, to know if a trip has been doctored

So with this your explanation, the attached should be 3620......meanwhile the rider put 4000 and indriver still gave more higher option for the driver.
Abi, am I missing something?
Yes, the discuss was about knowing whether rider tampered with the fare. So I gave an estimation guide to quickly assess at a glance before accepting trip.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 5:46am On Oct 30, 2022
@ Viking07. This is a typical case of fare tampering.
The real fare is the 3rd option circled.
So generally, long distance trips normally hovers around ₦100/km, then 1hr plus is around ₦1000.
ie 45km*100- ₦4500
1hr plus 10mins- ₦1000
Total- ₦5500.

This is just a rough guide esp for Lagos, you will know at a glance if the fare is doctored or not.
For Abuja, you can use the rate of Bolt as a benchmark. That way, you won't rush all trips.

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird: 5:30am On Oct 30, 2022
Viking07:
Abeg on this Indriver app, how do you know the price being offered is fair for the distance? I checked the rider page and discovered the rider can input whatever input he or she deems fit.
You can check it yourself.. Quickly change to passenger mode. Left menu on your app. Type the destination of the rider, if the price tallies, you know it was not tampered with.
Usually, the real price of the trip is indicated in the 3rd option of the bid price given to the driver.
InDriver is a slow burner, gradually you will get a hang of it. Don't rush.

You will get to know the official price for Abuja. A little maths will help too. Once the pick up is close for me, a trip offering #180-200 per km is good.

Yesterday the average price per km was ₦250.

Uber and Bolt charging ridiculous fares at the expense of the you and the maintenance of the car.
I was around Watercress, Balogun, one night like that. I met a middle aged man and we got chatting, told me he was driving on Bolt previously but he stopped, maybe he noticed I was wondering why he was still out late this night...

So he continued, and said, he still does taxi ( not kabu kabu o). But at a park...
I further asked him, does he make money?
.... He smiled and said " there are too many customers in Lagos"

Since that day, I saw the littleness of Uber n Bolt.

Both Uber and Bolt, Indrive beats them hands down.
Na only 2 things I want make indrive do on their app, then it will be a no contest at all.
Even as at today, Uber and Bolt no near indrive.
However, I don't pick any order that is less than 1.7k. I no wan know how short the distance to destination is.
Much respect, boss.
Lol.. I love short trips on Indriver. Sharp money for fuel.
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by northbird:
So Uber X was previously huh ₦82 per km, always wondered why their fares were really low like that.
Uber is still waking up, normal trips on Indriver hovers around ₦140/km, if we begin to negotiate, sometimes it hits above ₦180/km.
Sometimes I hit ₦350/km, short trips mode.

There is nothing sane about Uber, if I have to go through stress to make money on your platform, then it's not worth it.
On Indriver, the work just seems too easy,

- I know where I'm heading to before I start, Uber is the ONLY app devoid of this feature in Nigeria. How can you be a leader when you can't constantly improve on your app? Too rigid, too much bureaucracy, what's so special about destination?

-I can profile my rider (from the number of rides and ratings, low ratings (less than 4.5)coupled with few trips means such riders frequently tamper with the fares).

-No stupid short trips of ₦600-800 with 3km pick ups, the lowest fare I have ever taken on Indriver for a short trip is ₦1000. I mean really short trips.

-No long pick ups to fulfill short trip orders. How can you drive 4-5 km to pick up, then engage on a trip of 3-4km? Makes no business sensehuh Who pays for the fuel used in blowing down for the pick up?

-No unnecessary stops without adequate compensation, e. g parking to buy things and leaving the car running

-More rest.

The fear of operation Indriver is really making bolt clueless and restless, Indriver are really dragging customers with them all over lasgidi
The case of shooting oneself in the foot, Bolt made Indriver grow quickly by sending them hundreds of drivers they blocked senselesly by their driver score app. Indriver gladly received the tools and made magic. grin

Less than two years, and they are already giving Bolt a good run for their money...... Uber is no where to be found . No surge @ Magodo phase 2 today.
Funny enough, the same riders you are trying to protect by forcing trips on drivers, will still jump ship to Indriver when the opportunity arises.
Check out the giant Billboard Indriver mounted along CMD road.

Am thinking of using Toyota Highlander 4plug for Uber. Also I want to give it out for weekly remittance, especially if the driver stays around Ayobo,it will be park daily in my house after the close of work in the evening.Monday to Friday or Saturday if available.I need your advice base on individual experience ,does my intention make any sense or I should just forget about the plan.I feel instead of just parking it down for those days ,it can produce some money .My only fear is trust on some drivers and how they will manage it.For those using Jeep for Uber please your advice will also be needed, couple with the fact of how parts are expensive.

N.B:I see drivers who already got certified by uber but need a car, this can be opportunity for both of us to earn weekly.

And how much should I be looking at weekly for a jeep ?

Thanks for your anticipated advice and suggestions Sir/Ma.God bless our hustling.
From your narrative, that's your only car. If it's the only car you have, keep it. BTW, what stops you from driving it yourself? ,weekends..

I don't even need to get to toll gate before I enter Ibadan. I can use idi ayunre. There are multiple entries into Ibadan.
As big and busy as Lagos is, they should have created multiple entry points....

Lagos, just hype, no planning at all , how can a single road enter a city of over 25 million people..No alternative routes....

When the main express into Ibadan was under construction, all you had to do was use challenge bypass and you are already inside Ibadan.
Lagos, if you don't get to Berger, you can't navigate the city.

If you are not traveling out of Lagos, Don't take any trip beyond Berger. The only way to return back to Lagos on time is to get your car impounded.

I want to send a parcel to someone in onitsha, but I'm in ile-ife for now.
So, I called some of my ibadan peeps and this was what they told me.
1. I will take a bus to ibadan, get down at iwo road.
2. I will take a bike going to roundabout or makola, they are usually two on a bike. I find it weird commuting on a bike with stranger.
3. I will get a bike going to samonda or UI, so I was told along that route they are buses going to East.

Pls how good is this? And emm what are the security tips I must know about plying ibadan? Is there an easier means of sending it to onitsha?, probably somewhere around iwo road will be better.
VERY simple.
Take a bus to Orita challenge.. There are buses going to Onitsha from there... Make sure you get there early. At least by 7am.

Good day group..
.I need your advice.

I am Currently working in Lagos on a salary of 50 to 55k on a 12 hrs(8am to 8pm for a shift and 8pm to 8am for other shift). You can find a place to sleep over if you decided not to go house. But before next year there will definitely be an opportunity in the same organization to be a permanent staff on a salary of 80k on the same 12hrs but with a monthly leave, 13 month salary, incentive bonus.

There is also another opportunity in Ibadan on a salary of 50k and a daily meal but 7 to 3pm for morning shift and 2pm to 10pm for the other shift, a day leave every week, after a year the organization will be paying 13 month salary, accomodations and if I decided not to stay over, just 200 naira to my place in Ibadan, bonuses every festive period both cash and food.

Thinking of going for the Ibadan job and using the remaining hours after work to learn a skill because self employment is the key. But career wise, I need your advice.

The Lagos job is my line of field while Ibadan is deviation to another field
Ibadan straight... Don't look back.

Therefore, I will need financial stability pending the time I will secure admission with full funding against the next year 2023. Looking for a job here is a short time thing.

For newbies...

ONE WAY ALERT

Road: Akanni Doherty, off Oba Akran.

LANDMARKS : Guinness Nigeria, Oba Akran.

Akanni Doherty is typically a single carriage way. That means vehicles move along a single file in opposite directions.. Ideally, MOT in Lagos should put a visible signage there and the road should be properly marked like we have at Lateef Jakande, Coca-Cola. Presently, both signage and road markings are absent.

Pitfall: Watch out during morning rush hours especially when there's traffic, you must not overtake or step out of your lane, maintain the single file till you bust out to Oba Akran. , rogue Lastma and police hide in corners to fleece unsuspecting motorists. It's wrong, because there's no signage and the road is not properly marked. But that's Lagos for you,a city of extortion.

Please, be guided.
