My wife wakes 4am each day to prepare the kids for school and also cook that early morning. We do not eat leftover foods. She's a super woman i must confess. Whenever i go out late i help in sweeping and arranging the house. She told right from our wedding she does not want a maid.

I oversee some set of people who work from daybreak till 12 and send reports electronically ,they close I close.

They are here in naija too, seen some under Agbara bridge, they load the sand in boats that are bigger than these. Tippers come to pack after they offload from the boats.

Myself and hubby have flexible jobs

I presently work from morning till about 12 noon within my vicinity hubby works mostly from home (99percent of the time) late into the night so he wakes late, technically I am out before he wakes up so I have to sort the mornings myself all collabo is till the afternoon.

I do the cooking, I cook in a mini-bulk format because of NEPA issues, God bless whoever invented the washing machine too

He babysits when I am busy, feeds the baby sometimes, he does the deep cleaning and dusting on some sundays.

Since my husband is majorly home ,likes food and hardly eats out:

Sometimes I cook the morning meal the night before,
sometimes when I come back by 12 thats when we ll sort out breakfast and it becomes brunch.
sometimes hubby will eat bread and butter or warm some food already cooked.
sometimes he ll just sort himself out mostly when I have to go to the Main office.

Now my baby has started creche, I take him in the mornings it just around where I work, I can decide to pick him as I am coming back or go home relax and go back for him.


Its working out and just today we talked about how we ll cope if and when I would have to report to the office everyday, thats a different ballgame entirely. Merely thinking about it is giving me headache



I just cant imagine how couples both working 8-5 with toddlers cope in this Lagos.

Now I am seeing something about 2-3 posters have written - working with the an attractive opposite sex everyday might most likely lead to something. People have worked and are still working with very attractive members of the opposite sex all their lives and nothing I mean nothing happens.

Most of those girls don't know how to use gas burner.

Some would turn the switch on first... Before striking match to ignite fine... Imagine 3 match sticks failed with gas also hissing away since... And the 4th match lughts, there bound to be a mini explosion.

Some others will turn the gauge to maximum and then go press phone. Boiling water from what they are cooking would have spilled everywhere

I think this is also a factor, I was taught this as young as 7, you light the match first place it close to the burner and then turn the gas knob.

Some peeps dont know how to put on a gas cooker at all. Never ever turn the knob first. Well thats what I was taught. With auto ignite cookers now it may not really be an issue for those that use them.

The boiling water then puts off the gas flame, gas continues to leak if it leaks for so long everywhere is filled with gas, the ignorant person comes along, cant smell the gas lights a match and Kabooom.

We just need to be more safety conscious most of this accidents are preventable.

The Bible you claim you know says "what a man sows that he shall reap". It is on that premise that a loving and dutiful wife should reap love and provision. Genuine love is not indulging.

One quick question

A terrible parent that never took care of his children, should his children make provisions for such in their old age. Considering the scripture 'what a man sows he ll reap' you just quoted and also honor your parents which is also in the same bible.

Do you think they dont deserve to be taken care of by the children they didnt 'sow 'anything to their lives?

I decided not to comment on the other points because we are talking about the biblical perspective and the statement ' if they want to enjoy their home and be respected must contribute' veers of the bible its your personal opinion which is respected. In the days when this injuction was given, wives were working in the farms of their husbands to assist in food production. The man who despite this now denies his wife of care out of wickedness is the one the Bible referred to as being "worst than an infidel".

It is also applicable in this generation. If a wife suffers and assist a man to succeed and then that man now starts to maltreat such a wife when she did not give cause to the maltreatment, then such a man is worst than an infidel.

That is the context to interpret that passage.

In this age and time, couples should work together to run their homes. One sidedness can never result into genuine love as there won't be memories to share in terms of joint effort. The alpha male who does all the providing will consciously or unconsciously always act bossy.

I vehemently disagree! A wayward child is the responsibility of both the child and the parents. The parents could give him or her all the attention and resources in the world and he or she still choose the wayward path, this does not mean the parents failed rather it meant it was out of their control. Apart from spiritual battles, some children need a change of environment or reality check. Having both parents still catering to your needs often clouds the judgment of children and complacency sets in. We all can blame the parents all we want but at some point the child will wake up and realize she's responsible for her own damn mistakes.

Reading this thread breaks my heart, a lot of teenagers have become a thorn to the flesh of their parents.

Thats why me I dont support all these so called 'flogging is child abuse' any method a parent deems fit that will correct a child should be used. And let parents begin to desperately pray for their children too.

She will eat with time, some babies are like that just introduce the foods little by little. Try placing some finger foods around her she will pick some from the plate and might end up in her mouth. Or try letting grandma feed her if shes around sometimes kids collect food from elderly ones around.
