Travel › Re: See What Lagos Residents Face Everyday And Pretend All Is Well (pics) by NoToPile: 8:39am On Sep 12, 2018
I intend going towards oshodi tomorrow and I have been thinking since Monday how I will go about it.

Last thursday my eyes saw wheeen, I jejely shunted while coming back via ikotun, no be me them go give HBP

The last time we had it so bad on lagos badagry express was pre-2002.

People are already saying they shouldn't have even tried to expand the road at all.

Those chinko people scattered all the lanes and stopped work, at least they should have tried to make it motorable. I am even beginning to think they are not the ones that constructed orile to mile 2.

Volks is a problem
Barracks too problem
Tradefair is the king of problems

All caused because of the construction angry and the rainy season also added to it, don't they know all those half dug holes will become issues when rain starts?

I pity those who pass there everyday. Get home 12am leave 4am is that a life.

They should pay those contractors and let them finish abeg.

MizMyColi:
Chai, I miss my epistle writing days... I feel so lazy to type, but type I must cheesy

Anyway, about the ish.
I have never spoken to Chasers on this thread before. I am more of an observer than an active poster. I just don't have it in me to take pictures of food and upload. I can't even do it to lose extra weight (if you know, you know).

While I am of the personal opinion that some people go "overboard" in their tweaking and posting of pictures, I honestly really don't care that much. It is their life and whatever makes them happy, they are allowed to do. It makes me happy too, sometimes.

About Chasers, just by following his posts on this thread, I could deduce he has some serious European (Italian) background. I have met very few Italians...God, those people are passionate about food... Healthy food and wine.

It's a no-brainer really. The moment I opened my followed topics for this thread and landed on the page where he was being accused of stealing food from a foreign website owned by a Maria Ceraza..... in my mind, I just said "na them them."I just instinctively had this feeling they were connected to each other the moment I read Maria is of Italian background.

Surely, there's got to be a connection. Anyway, the ameboo in me didn't rest. So I went back to the origin. I saw the food he was being accused of plagiarizing ... Surely, I have seen better designs with his signature on here, so why would he steal something like that? the story wasn't adding up. Then I saw a picture he posted of a white female, I saw the hair pattern, and I felt 80% sure that was Maria Ceraza.....

About the comments saying the thread is all about "Cooking in your kitchen" Have you considered changing the topic to "Cook in a kitchen?" Because, I don't see any difference between food that I cooked in my kitchen and the one I cooked in my workplace. All of them are my food ooo. It's I who cooked them. PERIOD.

About the comments saying that he should have said he took the breakfast pix MONTHS before...
Ermmm, so if (for instance), me and Mariangeles are gisting on this thread and she says stuff like "Coli, I've not had lunch, gimme lunch na." Then I post that my "ewa agoyin" that I cooked about 5 months ago, and I say to Maria "Oya come let's have lunch together"... Are you saying I must say that I took the picture months ago, otherwise....?

I think what should matter most is "Did you cook this food or not?" Any other explanation you choose to give or withhold is your business. No one is owed explanations or a lack thereof.

Now, we have shifted from saying he stole internet pictures (because he clearly made the food) to saying .........

I hope this is not a case of "We must nail him by force by fire" grin
grin grin

what I found surprising the most is that that nobody even posted this way, except Jesusgirl that said 'what if he was the one that posted the pictures' and coco that really questioned him to clarify if he had a link with the pictures or not.

If not that you seem to be popular on NL they would say you are an alternate grin

Nairalanders have issues in all honesty, they are the ones that started saying 'foreign site' 'not even an English site' hammering on foreign as if there's a difference if it was a blog in burundi that a picture was lifted from, the guy decided to come out and explain and it turned to 'nobody cares who you are' of course they care if not they won't be saying he's being defended because of bla bla bla

When chasers was saying 'How do I explain this', 'I have a link to that blog', 'the picture was taken Feb 2' did they listen no they didnt, I would have expected that at this point majority should have asked for further clarifications but only few did.

Now they are saying it's because it's chasers and because there's the word foreign people are defending him so because it was not from a Nigerian blog and it's not ogbono we shouldn't try to defend him when he has come out clearly to say he has a connection with the food, What kind of reasoning is that?

Did the people accused initially come out after much grilling to say they have a link with the food they lifted from the Internet after the accusation? NO and that's the major difference between the past matters and this one and that's why I am defending him.

The point is even if chasers post pictures of himself and Maria eating that same meal they will still say he's showing off and still call his defence crappy, for me at this point is not even about the picture or not it's about the attitude on this thread.

Waiting for the accusations of being an alternate / collected money. cool . You would have to bring evidence please. Thanks.

After some people will say "which beef" and you see CIAs and FBIs of foodland digging the entire google on top ordinary food pictures just so they could put others down all for what? So that other people could rain insults?? .... And someone was calling me defense attorney.... What do you have to say now? Case dismissed or adjourned??

Likes go increase their bank balances I guess undecided
The bolded is the motive it's not necessarily to correct or ask for clarification which is not supposed to be so.

I am not surprised that non of those who accused and 'insulted' not 'corrected/ asked for clarification from @ chasers before the whole name clearing has come out to withdraw their statement/insult

The most annoying part is that anyone that has a contrary opinion is called an alternate moniker

Now that chasers has a link with the 'foreign' blog what next? Find out his true identity? Ask him to show us the cooking process? apologise for the false accusation?

Maybe the title of the thread should read post food that you cooked in your kitchen that has not been posted anywhere else.

They should please tell gov ambode what we are passing through on this lagos badagry express way, traffic is terrible from iyanaiba to mile 2 and back.
Those contractors scattered the whole road at tradefair at least they know it's rainy season should have patched some places for transportation to be easy.

Same thing at volks and barracks too.

I had to shunt through iyanaisolo -ikotun-igando-iyanaiba -agbara on monday. It's terrible oo.

I dont fancy this yeye style of doing trad now and then church wedding months later, some even d a year later.

Do the whole stuff within some days, even if travelling to the village and coming back for the church, maximum 2 weeks.

Besides traditional marriage is marriage in eyes of God, if you want to consummate the marriage after all ceremonies then do all sharply.

That's the genesis of this whole issue.

I don't know if it's just me but the urine won't drip into the pails if you look closely you will see that white junction like pipe links to the black pipe under.(the plumbers can explain better) I have seen this stuff under our washing basin here in Nigeria same design. Why they now put the mopping pails under it is what I don't understand maybe someone is trying to be mischevious. grin

This doesn't excuse the fact that Nigerians use facilities poorly.

INDUSTRIALFAN:
I wonder y a full village will gather to decide what should be paid before a child you conceived in private and trained alone will be given out in marriage As I recall, a certain amount was paid for my sister and afterwards, my parents gave her husband back his money. It was just formality. And I'm from the niger Delta area too.
That's the problem, what is making all this lists bogus is majorly the items for the village people. I am of the opinion that whatever is brought by the groom is strictly for the family. The brides father family and the brides mother family.(it's shared equally where I come from) if it's one sachet of salt that reach you you accept it with all joy. All these village association stuff will put young men into debt.

I am always amazed when I hear some village associations are requesting for this, one distant relative is the one determining that, are they the brides father?

With this economy a lot of young men can't afford all these.

I don't know why I find the 'You have to prove to me before I come back home' statement funny, a bit manipulative and also having a dash of childishness within.

He's immature.

I wonder if the tables were turned and you hold this stance his family haboring him will see things this way. So nobody in his family can even say son it's okay she's apologised, kindly go back home. You mean no one shocked

What's with all the 'they forgive you' that you said his mum is telling you, what's with all the calling his siblings and all that paparazi on top this matter. You still have to go for a press conference detailing what led to and how the push occured at his mum's huh

My cousins wife should be efik then I think so because her parents home are in calabar town but then they might just be living in calabar but from akwaibom.

My akwaibom nysc friend that married around 2011/12 said her bride price alone was 400k as at then oo when 400k was quite valuable.

I think the way forward is that parents alone should be the one who determine what the groom bring. All these village association, elders, community, good mother's requirement is what makes it more cumbersome. This will be difficult to do in some cultures as they are very communual

I cringe anything that has to do with the Nigerian police.

They can Frame anybody anything anywhere.

That's how my cousins son and friend were going to pick up his sister who gave birth, they were stopped at Igando bustop and their offence was that my cousins friend wore jalabia over camo , something like that. That was when those militants /oil bunkering stuff was rampant there.

Next thing they were at the police station, thank God his mum got ther on time they sat both of them on the ground with other people, placed some stuffs in front of them and wanted to take a picture shocked their mum said they must snap her with them oo started crying.

Last last they collected 20k to release them.

Offence we don't know, next thing maybe we would have seen his pictures online as an armed robber. That's why I don't believe most of these pictures they show as robbers.

My advise when it comes to this their matter, ensure it doesn't even get to their station at all or else it's another matter.

Nothing extraordinary.

Instead of them coming home and spending so much, let's the grooms family go and settle the brides family if they want to party that's their own palava and the couple sign the wedding papers quietly whereever they are. It make more economic sense and it's even cheaper that way.

Flight money for both of them will settle the traditional requirements
The fact is the families have met brideprice paid, list is collected and settled. Shikena. In the eyes of God they are married.

Health › Re: My Thoughts About Nigeria Medical Doctors. by NoToPile: 10:20pm On Aug 31, 2018
It's a Nigerian thing.

An average Nigerian takes advantage of any one they seem to have a little edge over its mostly the young newbie docs that have this arrogant egoistic attitude anyway. All the doctors I have seen that have this attitude are still the ones at the lower part of the ladder still building up.

The one that wanted to burst my water during labor was rash, removed his gloves hastily and shouted that he will leave me for 4hours simply because I said he should let me calm down for some seconds before he did the stuff, I was stiff I needed to calm down, a senior doc came in asked what happened and then said calmly it won't pain, that infact he would do it for me all I heared was pim and I didn't even feel anything except the trickle of water.

Those consultants, attend to patients better and with professionalism, you ask questions they will answer you nicely. I guess experience has a lot to do in this. I have had a prof attend to my son at a teaching hospital and the experience was quite different, nice attitude despite the fact that he's elderly, listens to your talk and answers all your questions and it reflected on the other doctors working with him too.

All in all the ultimate is not to have anything to do with hospitals except when necessary (childbirth etc) especially govt hospitals.
