Chizuru01:Isnt it the same man another group of Africans (including top govt officials) have been celebrating his visa and US visit for days now as an achievement? You're right! Africans definitely didnt start fooling themselves today. |
Lol.. Something isnt clear to me though. Is the author referring to gender roles or gender stereotypes? |
It is finished... ![]() |
The joblessness is this country is really alarming. The crowd of ordinary people who show up for these rallies even in the middle of the week speaks volumes. |
Iamdmentor1:Hiw can road that is still under construction presently be marked as completed? |
veykey:There're 2 ways to spend money. You can spend it wisely or unwisely. If it isnt spent wisely when in excess, when it stops flowing, there will be instant crisis. But something you ought to know, when momey is being spent unwisely, it rubs off on everyone, even the akara seller and groundnut hawker on the streets would have brisk business cos people are spending indiscriminately. On the surface, it would look like the economy is doing well cos everyone is happy. But like I said before, the real effect is felt only when that money stops flowing in and you find out that no lasting capital structures or investments or savings were made when the money flowed. Meanwhile, point of correction on something you said above, no one is enjoying the benefits now, the people on top are also lamenting of lack of flow just like the people at the bottom. When last did you hear of people indiscriminately buying private jets and yachts?... or since this election started, whrn last did you hear of people indiscriminately throwing money around? |
veykey:When there's excess money flowing into a system, everyone down to the least in society gets a feel of it. But the real way to know whether that money was spent wisely or not is by checking what happens as soon as the excess money stops coming forth. If the money was spent wisely then, it wouldnt have been possible for that u-turn you talked about to instantly happen as soon as the money stopped flowing. |
kufre2010:1. Well, whether we like it or not, irrespective of whether they have moved from party to party 100 times, the only identity I can ascribe to a person for the sake of argument is his/her current political affiliation; Atiku is PDP, Kwankwaso is PDP, Amaechi is APC, Tinubu is APC. 2. That everyone now sings about 'govt lying, lying, lying!' as a reigning song, that doesn't mean it started today; everyone knows this, except those born in 2015 or those who chose to have amnesia. It is a hard fact that with the penetration of the internet and the proliferation of social media, it is now much more difficult than ever for the government to lie to Nigerians. Today, the lies of politicians are quickly busted within minutes; if you then think that the current crop of politicians (who know that their lies can be easily busted) are lying more than before, then it's a pity. 3. Yes I agree, the crude nepotism/parochialism of Buhari is disgustingly senseless. But if I examine it deeply, it doesnt really affecr me directly so I really cant be so bothered about something that affects mainly politicians. All the people GEJ appointed close to home, how exactly did that affect the common man on the streets to make me hold onto that so much as an issue to lose sleep over?.. Besides, PMB isnt ruling forever. 4. By the way, you mentioned that development was visible? That's very subjective matter cos there are people who can see some signs of development around them and there are people who will never see it even if you plant it on their nose. The fact though in my opinion is that development is very very slow. But comparing 4 years (of which 2 were a period of recession) to 16 years, that's not really a meaningful comparison. You have to compare like for like. And you also have to compare government revenues too. For instance, the revenue Nigeria made between 2011-2015 is more than 3 times the revenue Nigeria made between 2015 and 2019. Of you must compare, you have to compare equal time periods and also factor in the revenue hand. |
Adiola:I supported Buhari in 2015. But I'm not impressed with his performance and I'm disgusted by his parochialism. Would be interesting to see where you will find any post from Obailala rooting for any of the main political parties in the coming elections; I would very rarely hail any politician. But despite whatever enthusiasm I may have lost for Buhari, one thing still remains very constant, i.e. my utter disgust for PDP and whatever it represents. After 16 years of ruin, I still get very irritated whenever I see PDP soldiers or their supporters accusing APC of any wrong. 99% of the posts Obailala makes on the political section of this forum is about me knocking PDP and its supporters who have developed amnesia on what PDP represents. If given a dual choice of strictly PDP vs APC, I will still go with APC. But for now, since the other candidates I prefer have no chance, I'm abstaining. |
kufre2010:I cannot say amen to that because I dont support nonsense. I may only be be driven to select nonsense if it is placed side by side with another nonsense. But that is not to say I'm backing any political group in the elections next month; cos I know my preferred candidates cant come close to winning. Meanwhile, may your life and destiny be handled the way PDP handled Nigeria's destiny in it's 16 years or waste. Why dont you say a big Amen to that! |
babecode:There's nothing said here that isnt known to all Nigerians, there's nothing new or surprising here. Still wondering what points, political or otherwise which Reno intends to achieve by this. |
faithfull18:Well, maybe if she said YES quick enough. It's definitely better to have a broken relationship or engagement than a broken or miserable marriage. |
faithfull18:Until the deed is done, it is not yet done. What if he liked her more than the person he eventually married?.... |
Olumeme:Oh yes! When the first dubiously cut audio was released, Tolu claimed Amaechi couldn't have been talking about Buhari because the impression from that edited version of the audio made it seem like Amaechi was insulting Buhari. But what happened later?... a more complete version of the audio was dug up by Tolu the very next day. And whilst it proved that it wasn't actually 2014 as previously claimed, the complete version still proved that the narrative being peddled by Reno (about Amaechi insulting Buhari) was totally false. The important defining bits of the recording was dubiously cut off by Reno to twist the meaning of Amaechi's words. **If you want the full recording, I can find a youtube link for you** This brings me back to my previous comment; Reno is still mad at Tolu for quickly busting his lie. |
jmaine:If you're also truthful, you will totally agree with me that Tolu has been a severe pain in Reno's butt recently, a major clog in the wheels of Reno's propaganda machinery. That explains why in the past week, Reno has abandoned Atiku which he should be campaigning for and focused his entire searchlight on a mere government employee... You can tell from the tone of Reno's tweets in the past week that he sees Tolu chasing him every night in his dream. |
Lol... This Tolu guy really got on Reno's nerves. Reno and Tolu are just 2 of a kind, and it clearly hurts Reno so much that after spending time to create a new propaganda, Tolu just busts his lies instantly. Since last week, Reno has been obsessed with Tolu; from claiming that Tolu betrayed Atiku to posting pictures of Tolu wearing a Nigeria Air cap and now this? ![]() |
Kingspin:Politics is a game, a dirty game where people dig up dirt on others and use it to fight their perceived enemies whenever it suits their purpose. There's nothing undemocratic about that except the person being played is actually innocent/free of dirt. If you dont want to be a victim, you have to be very careful to conceal all your skeletons very well, or better still, have no skeletons at all. The CJN goofed big time by making such a careless error. If his enemies want to use this his error against him, there's nothing undemocratic about that; it's just politics. |
If the constitution says a CJN must declare his assets, why should the CJN (the chief custodian and interpreter of the law) not declare his assets?... How can someone in the position of the CJN claim to 'forget' such a thing? Finally, if the allegations of PDP are true that the apc govt wants to simply push Onnoghen out, there's nothing surprising or new or undemocratic about that. Politics has always been a GAME, a DIRTY GAME. When involved in politics at any level, one must learn to avoid skeletons at all costs. Or if there must be skeletons in the closet, the entire closet should be buried very deeply. Or else, your enemies who are aware of your flaws will keep silent and wait until an appointed time such as this to unleash their missiles. Unfortunately, Nigerians are always emotional when the dirtiness of the game doesnt favour their camp. It's only in Nigeria that a thief would be caught red handed and his only defense is that he's being caught because of politics and self acclaimed 'democracy defenders' begin to shout 'tyrant'. Why on earth would a CJN (who knows he's not favoured by the fulani-northern cabal) be this careless? |
Everybody in Nigeria is just a theorist.... If the constitution says a CJN must declare his assets, why should the CJN (the chief custodian and interpreter of the law) not declare his assets?.... Not a single person has asked this vital question in the entire thread. Everyone has just automatically switched to pdp vs apc politics. Some persons on this thread mentioned that the CJN has not been pronounced guilty by any court. The last time I checked, no one in govt or outside govt has said the CJN is guilty; a case of non-compliance was only referred to the CCT for investigation and judgement. Why's the PDP so jittery over this?.... If the CJN has done nothing wrong, the case would be thrown out, he's so much of a powerful man for me or anyone to feel worried for. Is it not the same CCT that rogues like Saraki and Tinubu were sent to and they both came out unscathed? Finally, if the allegations of PDP are true that the apc govt wants to simply push Onnoghen out, who does not know that politics is just a GAME?.. a DIRTY GAME? People only cry foul when the dirtiness of the game doesnt favour their camp. It's only in Nigeria that a thief would be caught red handed and his only defense is that he's being caught because of politics. Heck! Politics or no politics, did you do something wrong or not? |
KikBuhari2Daura: Vinstel: Modupex:Nigerians and confusion! On one hand they scream about how APC is the same as PDP, especially since the people in APc were once PDP soldiers. The very next second, the very same set of people start screaming about how APC is a party of evil people and PDP a party of beatified saints.... Meanwhile we got neutral parties like AAC, YPP and AACN wallowing away. |
Gaspardd:Okay I guess the pictures I've seen online could be from the fertilizer plant. |
Gaspardd:How recent is that picture? |
topstone4:Oh... sorry my bad, the last reply was in error. If you notice, its exactly the same reply i gave you earlier yeasterday, I unknowingly just clicked it again on my phone. Like I said before, i looked through your entire posts history on Nairaland, you've never been able to engage any single person in a reasonable substance based argument; the only thing you're capable of is insults and insults... So yeah, it would be intellectual suicide honouring your brand of human with further responses. Nice day ahead! |
nairaman66:Petrol and other fossil fuels would still be relevant till even the next 50 years. |
Gaspardd:The last picture I saw of that project, it was quite at an advanced stage. The difficult works have already been completed, all thats left is just installation of different components like this one which have already been pre-fabricated at different locations of the world... It's very possible for the refunery to be completed in 12 mobths. |
colossus91:If Dangote completes his refinery and petrochemicals/fertiliser plant and becomes a vicious monopoly (which he will), his current ~$10bn worth will more than double in no time to about $25bn. When the Dangote refinery is fully ramped up, it can actually produce enough to cover Nigeria's entire product demand; and remember, we also have several modular refineries springing up here and there which will also be completed in no time, and the moribund govt refineries which are operating at less than 20% capacity will all add to Nigeria's overall refining capacity. At that time, Nigeria could even be exporting petroleum products to gain more forex from 2020/2021 and I can assure you the govt then can/will halt or even ban importation of petroleum products, thereby strenghtening Dangotes monopoly even more. Petroleum imports account for more than 60% of Nigeria's forex outflow. When we stop importing petrol, the demand for forex will drop drastically and you know what that means on the value of the Naira?... The Naira could easily jump back to N160/$. And if the naira appreciates so drastically like that, do you know what happens to Dangotes worth again?... It could instantly double. In summary, beyond 2021, Dangotes worth could easily hit $50bn. **On the other side, I envy whoever is the president whrn all these unfold because the economy would move in massive leaps when Nigeria stops importing fuel and politicians in charge then would ascribe all the glory to themselves and their wisdom.*** |

topstone4:Congratulations on knowing how to do strike through.... Such a your lifetime achievement for a retardd. |
topstone4:Keep practising your only talent (insults).. after all, only filth can be produced from a brain filled with filth. Oh I forgot to also mention that he also knows how to strike through a comment, an achievement he's so proud of. Human beings dey this life shaa ![]() |
topstone4:Hahaha... When you want to hide something from a black man, just place it in a book. Whrn you want to hide something from a very dumb nigga, a book is too much, just put it in writing. I write 3 short paragraph and this dude keeps lamenting about it being an epistle. Oga, I was well aware from your very first response today where you started with insults that you were an empty skull... For the last time, i just decided to test your level of daftness again, and you sure keep proving me right over and over again. Lazy brained Nigerian youth... Tufia! |
topstone4:People with empty skulls are not hard to spot on social media. A simple way to identify them is the swiftness with which they resort to name calling whenever they are confronted with a substance based argument. They instantly drag you into the gutter where they belong and win you based on their experience. Its embarrassing when one unknowingly falls into these traps... So I agree, you win on the insults, but can we now go back to the topic of discussion (if you're capable)? 1. You claimed that no standard gauge railway is currently being constructed? That is is a lie from APC? True or False? 2. You claimed that the narrow gauge railway on which this train derailed today is indeed the same Lagos - Ibadan rail which Amaechi has been (or claims to have been) building with the Chinese? True or False? 3. You claim that Nigeria does not grow rice, or that local rice production in Nigeria has not increased by any measure since 2015?.. That all the talks about rice production is 100% lies from APC? True or False? Would be nice if you can answer these 3 questions so we can confidently understand what your point is. |
topstone4:Sorry I'm not ur family member... So stop confusing me with them. |
