Ugosample:He clearly stated that this thread was referring to a false statement spread by some folks that the tanko dude wasn't called to bar. You obviously couldn't you read that but you think he's a slowpoke? |
Out of the current pack, this man is the most suitable candidate. But unfortunately, Nigeria is a backward country. |
LieDetector:Lol... Ignorance has never been so obvious! Both Onnoghen and Osinbajo can easily have billions in their accounts. They're both professionals who have distinguished themselves in their field. And no sound person disputes that. Osinbajo is the principal partner in a renown law firm, a professor of law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. If he flaunts 5billion in his account, he can defend it any day, any time. And because he knows he can defend it even in his sleep, he wasnt scared of declaring it. On the other hand, nobody has claimed that a person in the calibre of Onnoghen cannot own billions. But the question is, why did he not declare it?.... |
PDP lieutenants seems to be more obsessed with irrational personality attacks more than anything else in this campaign season. What exactly has Osinbajo's religious life got to do with anything and how exactly is that the business of these PDP guys? This is the same way instead of campaigning for thwir candidate in 2014/2015 using his achievements and manifesto, they spent 99% of their time and resources creating documentaries on buhari, throwing mud at Tinubu and amaechi and even creating on stupid failed smear documentary on Osinbajo. Now they obviously havent learnt their lessons. 2 weeks ago it was Reno attacking Amaechi with audio recording, when that didn't seem to work, he shifted base to Tolu Ogunlesi, a mere media assistant. And now again, it's on Osinbajo?.. Bunch of confused clowns! |
I thought the real motive behind replacing the CJN was for the new guy to appoint loyalists for the election tribubals?.... If the new/Ag. CJN is so powerless, why's there so much noise about this saga being linked to elections? |
litaninja:But the companies aren't doing these projects for free. They struck a deal with the FG to build these roads in exchange for a tax rebate. So in essence, the roads are actually being built by the FG using the tax from these companies. |
naijapips04:You've said it all, how Onnoghen made the billions in his account isnt the issue; there's no law stopping him from having private businesses that can give him trillions. Nobody said he stole the money. The only issue is, why did he fail to declare it all before assuming office? That's what the law says and he knows the rules too well. And by the way, Osinbajo wasnt a 'mere' judge like you claimed. He owns a globally renown law firm that has won som huge cases in verifiable history. |
Kanixt:The way the pdp is crying and gnashing their teeth over this Onnoghen matter, even to the point of announcing a halt to their election campaigns, it's obviously not out of any genuine love for Nigeria; there's definitely a pdp plan which has been hugely neutralised by this. Meanwhile, how can the pdp soldiers keep shouting 'tyrant' and 'tyranny' in a bid to deceive Nigerians that they actually love democracy?.... Is there anything done by the Apc today that wasn't done x3 by pdp for 16 years?.... Talking of the presidency interferring in the business of other arms of govt and independent institutions, just a few years ago, did GEJ not also suspend an Appeal court judge (who was deemed to be sympathetic to APc)?... Did GEJ not also desecrate the independence of the CBN by sacking/suspending its governor (who refused to play pdp ball)?.... Or should we even start talking about how OBJ was changing NASS leadership like his used handkerchiefs? All these roguez shouting tyranny today actually hailed and defended those actions just few years ago. But today they've all repented and become lovers of 'order' and Buhari is suddenly the unique tyrant. Politics has always been a dirty unfair game and the real losers are always the ordinary masses. Politicians are all rogues! They only cry when their own grand scheme at banditry is thwarted. |
Privettoall:Unlike most other politicians who do exactly the same thing buhari is currently doing, buhari never for once tried to hide his own bias. But then again, this is what all politicians do. |
blaise26abj:Updating laws is the job of legislators, not judiciary. Talking about taking advantage of loopholes, that is exactly what politicians (ALL politicians) do. There's a loud outcry about this only because the president is hated by a good size of the population. |
This exact same scenario played out when GEJ Meanwhile most of the folks shouting 'tyrant' here today called it a 'masterstroke' when a similar situation played out 5 years ago. |
Efewestern:Shoprite has opened several outlets in different cities in Nigeria. The very first time they considered Delta state and opened a branch in Warri. In less than 6 months, the complex was attacked, looted and vandalised by some idiots who called themselves 'youths'. The problem with Warri isnt the communal clashes; in fact, companies and businesses were never even attacked during those clashes. The real problem in the city are those idiotic youths that go from street to street attacking businesses. |
Biodun556:Refinery operators from far away India and from some European countries come all the way to Nigeria to buy crude. Lagos is a stone-throw away from the niger-delta, so there's nothing complicated about Dangote buying and shipping or piping his crude from the niger delta. |
Konquest:Anyone who is president when this project fully comes on stream would have a smooth sail with the economy. And as is usually the case for politicians, the govt then would claim all the glory saying it's their stellar economic policy that's yielding fruits. |
mrAMG:In my comment which you replied, I was only replying to someone else who brought up the needless wealth comparison; and I stated there too to the guy that it was a pointless comparison. |
mrAMG:I'm struggling to understand the relevance of this comparison. What has Osinbajo's worth or Onnoghen's worth got to do with a case of asset declaration? Meanwhile, both men have distinguished themselves in their professions, and there's no way either you or I can gauge their worth by just making blindfolded conjectures here; I do not know their personal businesses or investments and neither do you. Any one of them can be richer than the other. But then again, what has their worth got to do with anything?... Are we Nigerians just so obsessed with arguing off point? |
PaChukwudi44:The simple thing I tried to point out to you is that your analogy comparing Osinbajo's worth to Onnoghen's worth was irrelevant and pointless. Nobody said Onnoghen doesn't have or shouldn't have private practice. The issue is about declaration of assets, whether it was done right or wrong, it isn't about "who get money pass." and there's no way in this world you can claim you don't know that. |
PaChukwudi44:The law says certain govt officials MUST declare their assets before stepping into office. Osinbajo declared his, Onnoghen failed to declare several of his accounts (and was caught). Onnoghen's offence isnt about having money, Onnoghen's offence is that he failed to declare his assets, which of course is against the law. This is elementary common sense! By the way, Osinbajo is a professor in law, a renown lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria who owns a renown global law firm that has handled and won some massive verifiable cases in the recent past. His source of income is very much verifiable if that is where you want to raise a dust. The rate at which some Nigerians defend rubbish is sickening. |
naunasabi:But in reality, what Atiku said is actually not true; it's actually just political talk to deceive the multitude of gullibles. Nigeria's economic lifeblood is dependent on oil. The moment oil price started dropping from mid-2014, so did our GDP growth rate. The rate had already fallen from 6% down to 2% before pdp handed over and bailed out of the sinking ship. Oh yes, it is a fact that pdp handed over a sinking economy to apc before it left, and amusingly now blaming the apc guys for all the mess. Afterall, 99.9% of Nigerians only noticed there was a problem after apc took leadership... PDp (and politicians in general) know Nigerians dont bother to verify info, that's the only reason pdp can be saying this now. |
PassingShot:Nigeria's GDP growth rate had already dropped down to 2% in 2Q 2015 before pdp handed over to apc. You should have put up an infograph of that in your post and saved yourself stress. |
Lol... see Atiku that ran away like a coward because he didnt want to be disgraced by Kingsley, Fela and Oby. Now na only for Buhari side Atiku dey get power ![]() |
Too sad that people like Prof Kingsley can't be president in a country like ours. |
WisdomFlakes:Those rallies you talk about need to be organised by someone, and it usually cost money. Also, PDP is typically in the business of doing colourful rallies where people are paid, given bright coloured uniforms and different groups attend with unique attires; those PDP rallies cost a huge amount.. But this time, cashflow is the problem, PDP no longer has the key to the CBN vaults. Another point to note is that people in the south (unlike northerners) always need some encouragement (money or gifts) before they leave their businesses to come witness politicians spewing trash. PDP doesnt have the financial war chest for that now, so they're waiting for the weeks closer to the election to organise their rally. |
opedaydydx9:In 2011 when GEJ was very sure of winning Buhari, he didnt bother attending the debate, but Buhari did. In 2015 when GEJ smelt that his hold on power was shaky, he humbled himself and attended the debate. But Buhari who had gained confidence on his victory arrogantly didnt bother. 2019, once again, Buhari has chosen not to attend. Atiku who also sees himself as victorious has arrogantly ditched the debates. |
ogawisdom:He should have still come and convinced Nigerians why they should vote him instead of 'wasting' their votes on the other candidates. Buhari at this time is like the defending champion, the people jostling for his seat should be able to tell Nigerians why we should vote them over the others. But then again, it a pride thing; the 2 big candidates in pride simply told Nigerians to go screw themselves. |
As usual, the 2 political big wigs and slave drivers (apc and pdp) simply told Nigerians to go screw themselves. All the exceptionally educated, enlightened and suitable candidates were present for a debate, even 1 suitable candidate was outside protesting why he was discriminated against by the system by not being invited. But of course, the 2 least educated, least qualified and most unsuitable candidates (interestingly both of the same ethnic extraction) simply did not show up because they knew they will win anyway. Afterall isnt Nigeria a shithole kakistocracy again? |
This mompha dude seems to be suffering from severe inferiority complex. How can such an old man, probably in his mid forties, keep having these impulsive desires to prove to the world that he's rich? |
And what exactly is the big deal with what he said?... How does using an F word make one a bad person? |
deepwater:This sums it up, the govt system we practice in Nigeria is a kakistocracy! |
Ziggylady:Where did I say he was innocent?... Did you see the last line of my comment? |
cococandy:I hope you read the bottom of my message where I said I wasn't holding brief for or defending anyone?... My comment was only in response to someone who claimed he must be guilty "cos a clear conscience fears nothing" |
JasonScoolari:Wait until you're set up, publicly humiliated and serially accused by several people (both friends and strangers alike) of a horrible crime you know nothing about. Wait until such a time when even your immediate family doesnt also trust your version of the story. And then we'd see whether you will be moved or not. P.s I'm not holding brief for anyone. |
