If governors asked for their entitlement of the ECA funds (which the FG was already pilfering from by the way), why could the FG not save its lion share (over 50%) of the ECA funds if it really had any intentions to save? Nobody seems to be able to answer this question, most people just seem to dwell on the pointless blame game claiming "governors made the FG not to save" |
Konji na bastard! N400 though ![]() |
Why did the Op just have to use that picture of all the pictures in this world? ![]() |
Rice doesn't seem to be a crop which takes time to grow. All that seems to be needed is proper irrigation and excess land. With serious 'political will', I see no reason why Nigeria cant be self sufficient in rice production within 6 months; I also see no reason why other states with massive land can't do this. |
kutchs:It's not just a Jonathan thing, and it shouldnt really be a buhari vs gej matter... this is an issue of successive past governments. Does Nigeria have an efficient, funtional rail system?... The answer is simply NO! Same way if I'm asked if we have power in Nigeria, my response would be NO! |
To the best of my knowledge, when politicians, 419ers, drug barons, gunrunners, oil bunkerers etc use multiple bank accounts to stash suspicious money, they do so to hide and protect their identities just in case the can of worms is exposed. What I do not understand about this Mama Peace's case is why she would come out and openly claim fraudulent money which is under investigation cos this action totally negates the essence of opening multiple cover-up accounts in the first place. And then again, I watched an interview video on Channels TV of a supposed 'anti-corruption activist' who later confessed to be Mama P's lawyer; never in my life have I seen such a ridiculous display of emptiness from someone who claimed to be a lawyer, the man simply came on air to implicate Mama P with his pathetic incoherence. There is no doubt that the woman is a sacred cow and the govt/efcc is carefully avoiding to have to implicate any of the Jonathans, but I wonder who advises Mama P; Jonathan should really find a way to keep her indoors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78GkORE1OnQ |
Sometimes one wonders whether it is lack of English comprehension or if its just lack of common sense. Very soon if someone says Nigeria has no light (power), someone would open a thread to question the statement by claiming he had light in his house last week. ![]() |
pazienza:You know you could have passed your message without being abusive right? Nobody is asking anybody to support apc; I only said if apc and Pdp are one and the same (as you agree with me), then why is there the hostile treatment against apc and while pdp receives a very warm treatment? Meanwhile my comment was in response to someone who made a statement about buhari handing over to a non-southeasterner; that is definitely a certainty especially considering the kind of leprous treatment the SE has given apc before and after the last election. Power is not given on a platter, it is taken, and to take power requires superior politicking, building of bridges and creating strong partnerships. The best chance of a SEastern presidency was blown when Yaradua died and when the SE politicians threw their weight 100% behind GEJ thereby destroying the PDPs zoning formula. Ordinarily by the pdp zoning arrangement, a southeasterner should have been the candidate after yaradua in 2015 and without that distortion to the zoning arrangement, Apc would have never seen the light of the day. But now that is a past issue, it can still be remedied but only a huge miracle will make it happen as soon as in 2019 or 2023. Political bridges also need to be built because of the 3 major tribes in Nigeria, no single tribe can ever get anything without the support of at least one other big tribe. The Igbo nation today is sadly not building any political bridge. |
EternalTruths:But sometimes we need to tell ourselves the truth.. power is not given, it has to be taken, and to take power, you have to play very smart politics. With the way the Igbo nation outrightly rejected the Apc and treated it as if it was some kind of ebola patient, there is no way the apc can give the presidency to the SE after buhari. And with the pdp zoning their ticket to the north in 2019, that's another pure evidence that the chances of power coming to the SE is very slim. For crying out loud, what's the difference between the PDP and Apc for APC to get that sort of treatment? |
anonimi:Chief, election don pass oo |
blueto:But this is exactly what I'm saying, SERAP isn't EFCC. EFCC would not prosecute except they have invited the person first for a chat/questioning first and the outcome of the questioning reveals the person has a case to answer. blueto:Same thing I'm saying, efcc wouldn't be able to do that until they have established a clear case against her. They would still have to hear from her firstly before they can proceed on anything they 'PLAN' to do. Besides, the controversy surrounding the funds need to be acknowledged; the funds were found in the accounts of 4 different companies, but when frozen, PEJ claims it was her funds. Efcc cant do anything until the hear from her properly. blueto:I wasn't referring to you in that statement; I was referring to PEJ being a sacred cow who the efcc cannot touch without adhering strictly to the due processes. |
Footysport:It isn't a time for celebration, it's just a wake up call and a time for national introspection. |
blueto:You seem to forget that such news isn't coming from EFCC but from random people on social media. I don't remember seeing any statement by efcc that they intend to 'apprehend' patience jonathan, they wouldn't even be able to do that. The most they can do is freeze the account and call her for questioning, 'some animals are certainly more equal than others.' |
Nigeria’s Currency Woes, a Blessing for Top Palm-Oil Producer - Presco sales up 60% in first 6 months on rising local demand - Company to increase palm-kernel oil exports to secure forex Nigeria’s ban on importers accessing foreign exchange for certain products is proving a boon for the country’s biggest palm-oil producer as it stokes demand for domestic goods.http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-23/nigeria-s-currency-woes-prove-a-boon-for-top-palm-oil-producer No matter how bad a situation is, there are always those who profit out of it. Meanwhile I never knew bloomberg could ever have anything to say about Nigeria besides bashing. cc: Lalasticlala, Seun, Mynd44 |
blueto: Mynd44:To add to what Mynd has said, it isn't just a law in Nigeria alone, just about every reasonable country in the world has this very same money laundering law, it was just never taken serious in Nigeria. If you suddenly make a transaction of a certain value, your bank is required to inform the anti-graft agency. The anti-graft agency also has a right to call/invite you for questioning, and you will never be harassed once you explain how you came about the money. I'm surprised at this Ben Bruce's statement, when i opened this thread i thought I was going to read something good. This is just sanity being instilled in a system and it's strange why a lot of people are averse to this development, or do we just prefer a lawless society? |
blueto:Such is what happens when a nation relies on one commodity for 92% of its forex inflow, Nigeria is learning a very bitter lesson presently and there may be no fast route out of this mess. The best bet to get out of this mess is to boost manufacturing; solve Nigeria's power issue and you would have solved 50% of our problems... With power, manufacturing would pick up with a massive leap and so will our exports. The last time i checked, the momentum gained in agriculture in the last regime has not subsided, agro production is still on the increase but the fact is that agriculture alone cannot turn our fortunes around, 'adding value' to agricultural produce is what can do the trick, but power is needed for that. |
Whynotthetruth:First of all, it is obvious you do not know the meaning of the word bigotry. Secondly, it means nothing if 10 or 100 blogs carry the same story in nigeria; even a primary school pupil with access to internet data knows that blogs in Nigeria do CTRL+C and CTRL+V from each other. If I ask you to do a google search and supply at least 5 of the so called outlets that conveyed the report, it would be obvious to you that 4 out of the 5 would be word for word reportage. With the proliferation of lazy and dubious bloggers all over the place in Nigeria, smart people typically do a quick sense-check of what they read online especially as we have more falsehood circulating in cyberspace presently. I've been asking you all day to rationalise the story you swallowed regarding the purported 20,000km of roads built by GEJ; 20,000km isn't 20km which could be hidden from public view, roads aren't economic statistics which can be hidden in paper, if there are even 10,000km roads built, it would be seen by all. Maybe i'm probably blind and my friends and relatives are also all blind, so kindly just help us out by mentioning the names of the roads you know that make up the 20,000km?.. Is that too much to ask of a smart person? |
Whynotthetruth:I'm sure i know the map of Nigeria better than you do.. Kindly point out examples of these roads that add up to 20,000 km, that is all I ask. I can help you with one, the 250 km Enugu-Abakiliki-Ogoja road. I don't expect you to mention all, just mention the ones close to you and you can get your friends to mention the ones close to them. These roads can't all just be invisible can they?.. and they can't all be in the north can they? |
Whynotthetruth:My Man stop ranting like a scorned first wife deprived of attention. We are talking about Fashola and the phantom 20,000km of VERY GOOD ROADS purportedly built by GEJ. Remain focussed on the issue and stop delving into Amaechi or Ogbeh. You don't expect a busy minister to start responding to every single regurgitation of politically disgruntled bad liars, especially when the story is baseless and lacks any iota of common sense. The story says GEJ fixed over 20,000km of roads to 'very good standards', and in order to lend it credibility, the report claims it was quoting fashola... Mr 'Full-Vessel', kindly point out where the so called 20,000 km of roads are, and stop shouting amaechi and Ogbeh. I have been around the SE, SS and SW in the last 5-6 years, I couldnt find the 20,000km of roads, except you are saying the roads are all in the north, then I wouldnt argue further cos the last time I crossed Abuja northwards was in 2009. |
Whynotthetruth:You don't need more than common sense to know that a claim of fixing 20,000 km of roads in Nigeria in 5 years is senseless, especially as no one can actually come forward to testify seeing these roads. For a certain level of nonsense, it would be demeaning to even offer a response. Sorry, Fashola is a busy man and wouldn't reduce himself to start responding to every nonsense, especially when it wasn't a question thrown directly at him. |
Aso Rock has a way of resetting brains to 'African politician' mode. |
Whynotthetruth:2) Just the same way you are propagating the beautiful nonsense, that is the same way all the 10 different trashy copy and paste outlets also copied and pasted the nonsense. Go back and read them all, the all copied the nonsense from pointblanknews.com word-for-word. Now that isn't even the point. 3) The roads I listed are not just the most popular, but also the longest roads connecting regions. Together they don't even go close to 2000km at least in the south. You can't name the so called roads which make up these 20,000 km, but you choose to swallow the story because one unknown website vomits the trashy story. And here you've been, acting all smart, intelligent and full of wisdom/IQ. Aren't you ashamed trying to defend the a statement that GEJ constructed over 20,000km of roads in this our same Nigeria?... Roads that you haven't seen. Very soon if one silly blog tells you today that Buhari has given Nigeria 20,000mw of electricity, you will ask me whether I know how much LIB is worth. |
Whynotthetruth:Lol... 1) I am 2) You stated a Thisday editorial, you did not give a link. Secondly, do you know what an editorial is?.. It is the personal opinion of a person like you or me, it cant be passed off as news. Thirdly, The distance from Lagos to London is roughly 5000 km, someone tells you GEJ fixed roads as long as four times the distance from Lagos to London; you cannot point out any of the so called fixed roads on your map, yet you believe it as fact, because one blog tells you that fashola said so? Benin-Ore-Sagamu is roughly 250km, Lagos to ibadan expressway is roughly 130 km, East-west road from Warri to Akwa-Ibom (extending up to Oron) is roughly 340 km, Onitsha-Enugu is roughly 100km, PH-Enugu expressway is roughly 220 km. All the above roads which can be described as the most important roads in the southern part of Nigeria together are just about 1040 km long, yet someone claims GEJ built over 20,000 km of bad roads to VERY GOOD standards and 'Mr I-do-Facts' here swallows this beautiful nonsense and churns it out as one of his FACTS. Lawd av merci! ![]() |
Whynotthetruth:1) Sharap there! 2) We are talking of a false statement dubiously attributed to Fashola here and not amaechi or ogbeh. Apart from the TANoid Blog (pointblanknews.com) who originally carried that story and all the other jonathanian blogs which re-broadcasted it, kindly show us the websites of any normal mainstream newspaper or any tv station which published/aired that fallacious report? The report said when GEJ came in, he met about 4,000km of good roads in Nigeria, but as at when he left, he had increased that to 25,000km of VERY good roads . Even without being told, as a Nigerian, is it everything you hear that you swallow?... The distance from Lagos to London is just over 5,000 km, so in essense we are saying a single Nigerian yet someone still believes 21,000km were built because one blog claims that Fashola said so. Of course if I remember those campaign pamphlets, East-west road, enugu-PH, Onitsha-enugu were also counted in the list, in fact PH-Owerri was counted twice in that list as PH-Owerri and Elele to owerri. Over a year later, you still think it makes sense to peddle such trash as FACT even with what we all see on the ground? |
I thought the idea of this free 5k had since been jettisoned?... Isn't this the exact mistake made by the last admin?.. releasing and spending trillions of the nation's cash without any major capital projects to show for the amount of moneys spent?... Spending billions to give people fish, instead of channelling the money to ventures that can enable the masses to fish for themselves. Wrong move, very wrong ill thought move. |
Whynotthetruth:C'mon will you quit all these your masturbating.. oh yeah I made that comment a bit too quickly b4 I properly read the report and being away since ystrday, I just woke up to this long trail of yabs from you and your co-travellers mentuining me all over the place... una try well well.. I just need to clarify some things in your No. 4 and No. 5 above. Firstly, GEJ did not build any 5-times more roads than any other leader... It was one of those ikebe super blogs who made that baseless report and they had to lie about it using fasholas name claiming he said "gej built 21,000km of good roads." The first question anyone should ask is gow many kilometres of federal roads fo we even have in Nigeria and this 21000km of roads built by gej, how come they are nowhere to be found in reality except on paper? .. anyway, Fash has since debunked that gutter report as a joke. Regarding the recession, experts have only said buhari with the right actions could have eased the recession. The action everyone keeps pointing to still remains the pegging of the currency till june. If you go back and read those statements by the foreign journals, they always acknowledge the crash in oil price and the crash in Nigeria's production as the mother cause of the downturn; they then go further to say some actions/inactions of govt made it worse. But obviously, people with a prejudiced heart only choose to see the later part cos it suits your narrative. |
AtlanticBreeze:We arent talking of obiano, we are talking of your state governor... meanwhile it means nothing if salaries are paid on the 25th or 30th or 15th, what matters is if a governor regularly pays salaries monthly. |
nnachukz:... if you want to know who really destroyed our country on all fronts, go and ask how much was Nigeria's debt as at May 2010 and also ask how much was this debt as at May 2015. Just FYI, this period between 2010 to 2015 was when Nigeria made its highest income but also the time it incurred devastatingly high debts; even money was borrowed to pay salaries at the time. The truth is painful for sure.. |
dimieprincess:From the title one already knows the sort of reasoning to expect in the thread.. ![]() |
Chiefobdk1:I don't go around defending thieves like you do... I dont go around carrying placards and following thieves to court to act as cheerleaders. I dont go around shouting witch hunt for every caught thief and financial rapist like you and your ilk love to do. |
Whynotthetruth:Na only Buhari you know?.... at least buhari is paying his FG workers every month; what is your state governor doing? |

Just so it seemed impossible to you because you are blinded by hatred and bigotry; so also it is for entirety of deluded APC peeps & hierarchy, who even PUBLICLY denied the existence of Abuja-Kaduna speed rail because it seemed impossible to them...they got pictures of vast open field and circulated on internet while ridiculing Jonathan...Same peeps today are dancing as Buhari is commissioning same Jonathan trains which they denied ever existed...
