VintageCocktail:I do try to ignore the lamentations, but for someone who visits the politics section regularly, some of the stories and comments are just too painful to ignore ![]() Maybe I should leave the politics section for a while and focus on 'Romance,' I may find my peace there. |
Wizprodigy:Are you insinuating that Nwobodo has not been arrested because he crossed to APC last wkend?... I was only pointing out an obvious trend where you defend Metuh for being Igbo and now have suddenly forgotten that Nwobodo is also Igbo because he joined the APC. I was only pointing out that the allegiance of these protesting groups seem to be more to political [arty than tribe. By the way, Nwobodo will be investigated and forced to cough out the N100million. |
ishiamu:Keep crying like a wimp, let's see where it will take you to. |
GreatSE:I'm sorry, even if a large population of Igbos have chosen to be crying babies since the Ijaw man lost that election, I still do not agree that the proper identity of an Igbo man is one who cries needlessly and continuously over nothing. I will not keep quiet and it doesn't matter a bit what you think about me or my origins; your opinion about me is as useless as the 'P' in 'PSYCHOLOGY.' And just FYI, Fashola also deported Yoruba destitute back to south west states. But I never heard you also accuse him of hating his own Yoruba people too, you only chose the aspect of "Fashola hates Igbos" because it favours you tribal mindset of hate and mistrust. Meanwhile Peter Obi also deported fellow Igbos and Ibibios to Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom and Akpabio also deported beggars. http://247ureports.com/evidence-gov-peter-obi-deported-29-beggars-with-children-to-ebonyi-akwa-ibom-in-2011/ So now, can you tell me why your gavel of judgement has fallen only on Fashola's head even with all these facts at your disposal?.... I can answer that for you, your have been raised (and your brains configured) to be a hater of other tribes even whilst you erroneously blame others for a crime you are more guilty of. Wake up! |
VintageCocktail:Victim mentality only reduces you to a wimp which every idiot would want to step on. And yes, Igbo issues have been the most common topics in the NL politics section since GEJ lost the election so it's not a coincidence if a frequent Politics section visitor talks more on Igbo issues. And also, I zoom out of my hole all the time because it irritates me to my soul whenever I see Igbos crying like babies and ridiculing a great tribe all because one Ijaw man lost an election. This has shamefully become a recurring factor which keeps eroding the respect for Igbos across Nigeria. |
This just reveals one fact that all these ethnic lamentations of marginalisation and persecution are just driven by politics and nothing more. - Metuh-selah received N400 million and Ohaneze and some other dubious Igbo groups are calling and protesting for his release 'because he is our brother' - Now Nwobodo decamps to APC and Ohaneze is calling for his arrest forgetting that Nwobodo is also an Igbo 'statesman.' Now do we still need a soothsayer to tell us this is just purely a PDP vs APC issue?.... PDP seems to have been hiding all these Igbo groups to fan the embers of ethnic division just to promote their cause. God pass them! |
ernesty20:Until you or a member of your family is also murdered, I'm sure that would also be a welcome development. |
PHIPEX:That glass ceiling can only be broken by Igbos themselves by properly strategising and building the right political ties. The glass ceiling can never be broken by accusing and antagonising everyone else, the glass ceiling can never be broken by isolating one's self. |
ishiamu:For how long shall Igbos continue to antagonise and blame every one else (but ourselves) for our woes? |
I have realised something under the sun, the Igbo victim mentality will never stop. The Igbo persecution complex will also never stop. This is a psychological manipulation that has been instigated by dubious leaders over time using the civil war as its foundation, it may never end maybe except if Biafra is actualised, then it will become clear to all, the scales will fall off the eyes of the people that they've allowed themselves to be taken for a ride for so long by greedy leaders. |
B69U:Of course the brain of IPOb youths have already been configured to see every thing including harmattan dust as sabotage against Igbos. Every issue faced is a justification for running away from Nigeria. You have not bothered to task your brain to investigate what may be the reason behind this disparity, your brain has already been hard wired by oga dilector to see everything as hausa and yoruba oppression against ndigbo. I would have returned your curse for your own family to perish instead but I wouldn't because who knows, maybe some of your family members are innocent and I may have links to your family somehow. |
LordAdam:I did not try to separate APC from PDP governors, you are the one who attempted to do that by placing the blame of sharing the ECA funds on Amaechi's head. I only pointed out to you that Amaechi was just one (1) governor out of 36 in the NGF, and majority of those governors were even in GEJ's camp. 2. We have a dictator who disrespects court others and boldly preach marginalization, how has the economy faired under him? Is he not still sharing the money with NGF? What did he use to bail the states out? We run a democracy, you can't eat your cake and have it. A president does not have to waste Nigeria's money on court cases when the NGF should be partners in progress not foes. You cannot have a Putin and an Obama at the same time, or a Mother Theresa and a Beyonce in the same body. Choose one.I prefer a benevolent dictator to an ineffective democratic weakling. No great nation today in this world attained greatness by practising proper democracy. It takes dictators and autocrats to first clean the system before democracy can work. As for Buhari preaching marginalisation via his unfortunate 97% vs 5% statement, I can prove to you that even the democratic GEJ who you compare him to made a worse statement. Remember when GEJ stated that states where their governors are fighting him should not expect federal presence?... That statement was directed at the people of Rivers state to ensure they voted out Amaechi and his gang; this is a state where 98% of the citizens supported GEJ but because of his disagreement with one man (Amaechi), he boasted to starve the state of federal presence. And not only did he boast, he also made good his threat as evidenced in the lack of federal projects in Rivers state. Even the common airport renovations which other states (including in the north) enjoyed, the PH international airport still remains an eyesore and was recently rated the worst airport in the world, no thanks to you democratic, non-marginalising GEJ. In all honesty, between the unfortunate statement and actions of GEJ and PMB, in this regard, who do you think was worse? About the bailout of states, 21 states of the federation were owing salaries and Nigerian masses were suffering so the FG had to intervene by bailing out the states with 'LOANS.' How can you possibly compare the justification of this bailout to the justification GEJ gave for blowing up the ECA reserves? 3. Have you stopped to wonder how the economy maintained its average of 6% growth rate under GEJ? GEJ had two options, get down to work which needed investing most of the cash we made or do nothing and accumulate money in reserves that amount to nothing. OBJ chose the latter, Yaradua chose the latter, GEJ was elected to do the former and he did. He has been vindicated by APC stalwarts like Fash and Amaechi to have made more contribution to Nigeria's transformation than any president in the history of the nation. You have made a very laughable defence trying to justify the squandermania that prevailed under GEJ. Did you just say GEJ used the money to work and that's why it was all depleted?... Which kind of manager would use his entire reserves to work and then plunge himself into misery when things tilt a bit?... How can you possibly try to justify a government not saving when there was plenty? Now let me educate you on some of the misconceptions that GEJ's praise singers used to deceive you guys. For your information firstly, if there is any administration that scored the highest points in terms of economic growth, it is OBJ's government between 1999 and 2007. - Nigeria's GDP growth rate in 1999 was less than 1%. It was grown to an average between 6-7% as at the time OBJ left office - Nigeria's foreign reserve was less than $6bn as at 1999. It was grown to over $60billion (FR+ECA) as at the time OBJ left office. - Nigeria paid off over $12 billion in external debts - Nigerian banks for the first time joined international ratings. - The boom in the telecommunications sector is obviously what pushed Nigeria ahead of SA as Africa's biggest economy. It is laughable when people deceive themselves that it was GEJ's efforts that did that. Now what did GEJ achieve in terms of the economy?.. - Foreign reserves of over $40billion reduced to less than $30 billion even after he supervised a regime with the highest income ever in Nigeria's history. External debts also soared astronomically, in fact the FG even had to borrow early in 2015 to pay worker's salaries. - GEJ maintained the GDP growth rate at between 6-7% through his regime but it crashed to its lowest of about 2.3% by the time GEJ handed over to PMB in May 2015. Is this what you refer to as stellar performance?... Now with the above, how can any person possibly try to justify the zero savings of a government which enjoyed unprecedented high income?.... You claim money was used to maintain GDP growth rate but this same GDP growth rate still crashed to an all time low at the moment oil prices crashed. Ironically and annoyingly, even though you acknowledge that money is required in the system to maintain the GDP growth rate, you still go ahead to blame a Buhari government for not being able to maintain a robust economy even when you know there is no income and there is no savings?... In all honesty, do you think you are being fair in your judgement of the present regime?... Are you being reasonable in your comparison? Did you say Fashola and Amaechi called GEJ the best president?... What planet did you get that dream from?... Trentonline.com and IgbereTV?... Amaechi acknowledged he didnt know trains were working, how is the existence of refurbished pre-1960 rail lines and trains a sign that GEJ was best president?... Then the fictitious report that Fashola praised GEJ about building about 25000km of roads, please how many FG roads are in Nigeria and why did no mainstream media report that story except Trentonline and co?... Can you kindly name one road in the entire SE or SS or SW zone which was refurbished from start to finish under GEJ?... I agree that a deplorable and disastrous stretch of the Sagamu-benin road was repaired, but what percentage of the entire road has actually been fixed? |
A very valid question has been asked, Jonathanians complain about others putting the blame on only GEJ's head however they ironically want to put the blame of the depleted ECA on Amaechi's head. 1. If you guys want to put the blame on Amaechi for the squandering of ECA, was Amaechi the only governor in Nigeria?... as a matter of fact, were there not much more PDP governors in Nigeria at that time? 2. If you claim that GEJ was arm-twisted to share the money by governors, was OBJ and Yaradua not also arm-twisted and even taken to court?... Why did it have to be GEJ who succumbed to pressure in just a matter of months?... Isn't that a clear sign of weakness and poor leadership as we have always pointed out?... Someone said GEJ isn't a dictator hence he fell for the trap, in that context, wouldn't it have been better for GEJ to be a dictator and save the nation from this present turmoil than be a wimp and put the nation in a mess? 3. If the governors were blamed for taking the ECA funds, the last time I checked, states will take only 40% while the FG would retain 60%. If GEJ was really proactive and willing to save, so what on earth happened to the remaining 60%?... From my calculations, GEJ met $20billion in ECA and shared $8bn to governors, so what on earth did GEJ do with $12billion?... Or did Amaechi also swallow that chunk? |
Nigeria sef... when shall we ever get it right in this country? |
Wizprodigy:Lol.. very laughable defense. over N3trillion spent on buying arms and you claim all the money may have been spent on blackmarket weapons but yet, soldiers didnt still have common bullets. This is the same blackmarket where even the same bokoharam and militants in the creeks easily go to and get arms at much cheaper rates. And yet the FG claims to have spent over N3trillion and yet no bullet, and still no bullets? |
Wizprodigy:The noise made by the soldiers fighting the war about their lack of arms, including simple things like bullets, that noise was too deafening to ignore. The problem was not the budget on defense, rather the problem and the big question being asked is, "what were all those large defence budgets used for even whilst soldiers kept lamenting and dying due to lack of common bullets for their rifles?" I don't think the point there is too complex to understand. |
chesterlee:And what's your definition of a good egg amongst the Ijaws?... a person who sees diabolic evil of disturbing proportions and labels it good? |
Reference:It's not even the person who posted the senseless statement that I worry about, a single person can be daft and it wouldn't affect society. But when you consider the multitude of people who agreed with the statement by registering their likes, that is where my worry comes from. The nation is certainly in deep shit when a multitude of its youths think that way. |
ishiamu:CAN YOU EAT YOUR CAKE AND STILL HAVE IT?... PDP steals the entire resources and hands over an empty reserve, and then oil income crashes to a 12-year low, and some humans still expect to eat the way they were eating before?... The kind of daftness exhibited by some humans is legendary. |

I wasn't talking to you.. abi u miss road? |
clovislouis:Lol... There's a lesson you should have learnt from this your experience but I'm sure you totally missed the important lesson because you are obviously already feeling inferior to the dude in a car. He did not get the girl because he had a car, he got the girl because you were sleeping on duty. While the guy was busy saying sweet things which girls love, you must have been discussing PMB vs GEJ. And again, the real lesson for next time is that you should have collected the girl's contact details early enough. Besides, the dude in a car may be a punk and the girl may delete him from her life in less than 24 hours. Also for your information, everybody (both male and female) loves comfort, that the lady went for the comfort of the car (which you didn't have) does not make her materialistic, it only makes her human. Both you and the other guy were strangers to her, it is only human instincts for her to go with the stranger who offered her more incentives. But then you should have still collected her number early enough. By the way abeg what is the business of lalastica in this your predicament? ![]() |
kissval1388:Lol.. I heard Abuja is now empty, no more flow of cash so everyone has relocated to their villages ![]() |
The SE of Nigeria did not like Buhari even before he was born. The hatred was so passionate and mind blowing that the allegations of marginalisation, killing, suppressing, oppressing and human rights abuses against Buhari started pouring in even before he even stepped into Aso Rock. They also heaped the blame of the deplorable state of federal roads and the lack of airports and seaports in the SE on a newly sworn-in Buhari. Most ridiculous was where the ones called IPOB also accused Buhari of being a paedophile molesting little girls. These inanities were contained in a petition letter sent to the UN some time ago ![]() To every discerning human, nothing else said by these groups of lawyers or artisans or miscreants or IPOB or whoever or whatever they choose to call themselves is new to the world. Sadly the emotionally driven false accusations and allegations would even force the world to ignore genuine complaints. Nigerians are now getting used to the rants and as the days go bye, everyone is learning to ignore and ignore them the more. The petitions would only be taken for what it is (i.e. trash) and will be treated as it should (i.e. thrown in the dustbin). |
Lol.. |
tommykiwi:Sorry you cannot dictate to Buhari how you want him to do his work. |
MagicBishop:Don't go around thinking you are any inch smarter than the soldier who posted that information. No soldier would be silly enough to post secret information publicly, there must have been a reason why this soldier had no qualms posting such info. Meanwhile you have just publicly insulted the memory of a soldier who died defending your nation, a young man who happens to be someone's son, brother and possibly a husband and a father, and who knows, his loved ones may be here reading your comments and you actually think what you have just done has any semblance of decency? |
Keneking:N60bn |
Tolexander:C'mon.. Where is your sense of humour? |
Raiders:On the contrary, GEJ never claimed to have renovated the PH Airport, rather he abandoned this airport on purpose because he claimed Amaechi was fighting with him. Even though 95% of the people of Rivers state supported him, GEJ specifically advised the people of Rivers State to vote out their governor that was fighting with him if they wanted any form of federal presence in their state. And even with this, we still blame and crucify PMB for his unfortunate 5% statement even when it is obvious that they are both . |
May God make this project to come to pass. This will transform Nigeria's economy in ways we can never imagine. To some of those opposed to this project for whatever silly or diabolic reason, God pass una! |
leksbore:What are you talking about?... and who told you some other things are not being done?... do you want the president to carry a hoe and start tilling the soil personally before you agree that something else is currently being done in other sectors?... What exactly do you mean by, "if he should try Agriculture he will recover all this loot in just a little period"?.. Can you plant a tree and expect it to grow and fetch you instant millions in one year?... Agriculture is a process which involves patience, lots of patience before you can reap its benefits. Same as almost every other sector. You cannot expect the leadership of a cash-trapped nation to just sit back patiently while people go hungry all because they are waiting for trees to grow, meanwhile there's lots of looted moneys that can actually be recovered quickly to feed the hunger of the people for development. Already about N350 billion was included in the 2016 budget as recovered funds, is that the kind of moneys you want the nation to forfeit because you think money can also be made from farming?... How can you hate and oppose the progress of you own country all because you think you are protecting the interests of some politicians you love?.. politicians that don't even know or care about you. |
leksbore:With what funds would they re-build the economy?.... Buhari plans to borrow N1.8trillion to fund the budget, you criticise him for borrowing too much. Now he wants to recover billions of dollars stolen just recently to help buffer the budget, you still criticise him for trying to recover looted funds. So I ask you again, with oil prices now at $31/barrel and the nations forex reserves still plunging further, is it with sand that the economy will be built? What kind of opposition is this for Christ's sake?... How can any normal human even be opposed to the recovery of stolen funds? leksbore:Of course for now it is still Dasukigate alone and you guys are all so opposed to it. Definitely the N1trillion mentioned here is not part of Dasukigate and when investigations for that starts, and also when the investigations for NNPC and Customs etc. starts, you guys will still complain. How on earth can any normal human even be opposed to the recovery of his/her country's funds?... Is this just a case of someone wishing himself bad and wishing his country bad all because he doesn't like the face of the current ruler?.... What is really going on for Christ's sake? ![]() |
