Very disheartening indeed that African leaders keep shipping collective national wealth abroad to purchase properties they will never live in while their people suffer in penury and millions of their people have no roof over their heads. ![]() I have just been reading a lot of ignorant comments from unenlightened Brits on the article. Most of them believe these monies are illegal proceeds of the aid they give to African countries that's being returned to Britain by corrupt African leaders. ![]() http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2808556/Wealthy-Africans-spending-4million-London-property-WEEK-snap-exclusive-investments-capital.html#ixzz3HLu7HJZI |
Sloan:You will be shocked that he didn't even move an inch in the direction of actualising this wild promise. In the almost 2 years he ruled Bayelsa, his only achievement was paying salaries to workers; not a single project was executed. |
Buhari/Fashola should have been the best, but I dont trust Nigerians and their religious myopia; the PDP would quickly capitalise on the gullibility of the grassroot voters and dissuade them from voting a Muslim-Muslim ticket. In view of this, Buhari/Amaechi might just be the safer option for the opposition. |
Reuben probably didn't know his future when he made these statements... |
Dmouthed:It's very funny the way some people passionately describe APC politicians as being evil and it leaves me wondering if it is the same PDP we have known for 16 years that is made up of saints.. ![]() |
ugwum007:i dont understand this ![]() |
ugwum007:A few years back, these wiko phones did not exist but see where they are presently. In the next few years, these so called chinco phones would give the Samsungs and HTCs of this world a run for their money. |
SexyRihanna:Ahh!.. My sincere apologies if my statement undermines the dignity of your hustle but you need to live and let live. You need to understand that not all runz girls are successful, so you need to consider the not so successful ones who also need a smart phone to keep up with the tide. I think the influx of affordable smart phones is a welcome development. |
This is a welcome development. At least no one should be left behind in the smart phone revolution all because they are not privileged to be rich. A lot of evil minded Nigerians made up of yahoo-yahoo boys, runz girls, children of the rich etc are getting frustrated that the features they enjoy in the expensive high-end phones is now being made available to everyone at affordable prices; else I wonder why anyone should be disturbed by such a positive development ![]() |
merbenko:The discussion was about Rivers, simple! Amaechi accused the FG of not executing any projects in Rivers state but rather, ceded away Rivers' oil wells to Bayelsa and Abia. First of all, I did not expect the presidency to respond to such allegations but since they decided respond, I expected Abati to at least counter the claims of Amaechi but instead he ended up writing a long beautiful rubbish. |
Dr Junaid Muhammed It is because of idiotic bastardos like these that most Igbos have emotionally vowed never to vote northerners no matter how good the candidate is or no matter how bad the alternative is. This was exactly what led to the civil war; Hausa leaders openly accusing Igbos of claiming lands and inciting northerners to hate Igbos. The question I ask, "are the lands stolen or are they being bought?"... When has it become a crime to buy land bikonu? ![]() ..and all of a sudden, the thread has inexplicably turned to Igbos vs Yorubas, what kind of country is this Nigeria?.. God help us! |
ogbongenet:This is an empty response from Abati. I expected he would have at least mentioned one or 2 projects the FG has done in Rivers state (even if it's small); or are there truly none?... then that would be preposterous! |
skyeboy98: ![]() The Op has just commited a Nairaland abomination. There are certaain topics that should never exist without a picture. |
Ilovenigeria:Why don't you use the second niger bridge?... I thought they said uncle Jona has built second niger bridge? ![]() |
kennyjubris:So because Odili helped him to be elevated to his governorship position so therefore his loyalty should forever be to a crook instead of to the masses which he should be serving?... This is one warped reasoning too many Nigerians have. |
menabadoo:Continue allowing yourelf to be deceived or should I say, continue trying to deceive gullible religiously sentimental Nigerians. Buhari's cabinet was 50-50 Muslim-Christian; get your facts right and stop spreading falsehood. Cajetanspeaks:There are actually more than 5 from that list. His cabinet was 50-50 Muslim-Christian. Funny that a typical southerner sees a name which sounds northern and he/she assumes the person must be Muslim. |
This is a very bloody question... Most people would either not answer honestly or would not answer at all ![]() |
rafhell:..but unfortunately at this time, you only have these 2 men to choose from in 2015 |
gentleoyink:The presidency is not a faceless organisation, a human being heads the presidency and if I think the presidency is doing something morally wrong, the head of the presidency is to be held accountable. We all know the jets belong to the presidency and I believe everybody understands the angle the girl is coming from. The jets are not Jonathan's personal property (everyone knows that) but in a layman's language it can be said that "Jonathan has 10 jets just the same way Amaechi has 1 and Akpabio has 1." Regarding the Banda issue, GEJ did not break any constitutional provisions, but it's a common sense issue of an action being morally right or wrong. Even if GEJ decides to gift out the jet to Banda, I believe that is within his constitutional rights but is it morally right?... Just the same way our lawmakers are breaking no law by appropriating billions to themselves, but is it morally right? |
gentleoyink:And again I ask, what do some Nigerians gain by defending the profligacy of government?... or are you a part of the government? ![]() If you agree with me that it's abnormal for the presidency to have 10 jets, then whose responsibility is it to do something about it?... Instead of taking steps to curb this senseless extravagance, are you aware that GEJ added about 3 more jets to the already large fleet which he inherited and he still intends to add one more?... How many fighter jets or personnel carriers does entire the Nigerian Air Force even have? This is the same argument a lot of Nigerians come up with about corruption that sickens me..."corruption did not start in GEJ's time." ...So if corruption was in the system before he took over then it is okay for the rot to be allowed to fester simply because it was there before him?... What then is the job of the president if not to fix the rot? When President Joyce Banda of Malawi assumed office, the first thing she did was to sell off the presidential fleet of 60 mercedes limousines and the only presidential jet to reduce the running cost of government and use the money for meaningful developments for her people. Now that is what REASONABLE leaders do or is this too much to ask of from Nigerian leaders. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/malawi/9306069/Malawis-new-president-sells-off-presidential-jet-and-60-Mercedes.html I remember when Banda was to visit Nigeria last year for a conference, the wise president of the GIANT OF AFRICA in his benevolence dispatched one of our idle presidential jets to pick and drop her off from her country and this the kind of recklessness that makes Nigerians proud ![]() Read story here: http://www.punchng.com/editorial/nigerian-jet-for-malawian-president/ @gentleoyink It is because a lot of Nigerians reason like you are doing now that is why a poor nation like Nigeria has the most expensive national assembly in the world and the presidency feeds with N1billion naira per annum; after all, why should the present leaders change it when the reckless profligacy was not started by them?... Note that my post is not necessarily about Jonathan but I have a personal appeal, "please stop supporting and defending the recklessness of our leaders" |
gentleoyink:why do some Nigerians always defend the indefensible profligacy of our leaders? ![]() you say it is the presidency that has the jets?.. Is the presidency made of ghosts and zombies or is the presidency made of humans?... Who is the head of the presidency?... The last time I checked, Jonathan is the president and he runs the presidency. Nigeria is a nation which has no national airline. The largest commercial airline Arik has only 23 planes while Aero, the second largest airline has just 12 planes and the 3rd largest is the presidential air fleet (PAF). Most other airlines in the country have an average of 2 planes and we dont even have up to 10 airlines in the country to transport 170million people yet the presidency (1 man) has 10 planes and you think this is normal? Correct me if I'm wrong, Jonathan has added about 3 aircrafts to the PAF since 2010 and he still intends to add one more and you think this is okay that 1 man and his family get to use 11 planes while the rest 170million Nigerians share the remaining less than 50 commercial planes offered by private airlines in Nigeria? Do you realise that the Nigerian PAF is one of the largest in the world?.. even the prime minister of the UK flies around in commercial planes but Nigerians think it is okay for their president to fly about in 11 planes because the planes belong to the 'Presidency' and not the president. ![]() Read this and feel depressed: http://www.punchng.com/opinion/president-jonathans-11th-private-jet/ |
obongproff:Since no popular young person is declaring interest, what do you expect El Rufai to do??... Throw his weight behind a 56 years old proven clueless mal-administrator with an unprecedented affinity for corruption and corrupt people??... 2015 election is simply a case of choosing between 2 old devils because a 56 years old man cannot by any standard be regarded as young. 2015 election is between 2 old former leaders; 1 ruled for 18months and has zero tolerance for corruption. The other which has an unprecedented affinity for corruption has ruled for 5 years and yet intends to rule for a further 4 years and yet some individuals accuse the former of being power hungry? ![]() |
So much effort to rubbish and pull down the person of Buhari. All over the place we keep seeing laughable stories about Buhari stealing billions in 1970s and 80s and bla bla bla... It seems like the only political strategy known by Nigerians is to "bring down your opponents" even if it means by spreading obvious falsehoods to a vast population of gullible Nigerians. Buhari may be old, Buhari may not be eloquent, Buhari may not physically look presentable, Buhari may also be unapologetic about his religion but one way the PDP supporters will continue to fool themselves is by trying accuse Buhari of corruption. Buhari has always been touted as being corruption free, in the last 3 elections which he has wrestled the PDP, if there was any stint of corruption in his person, I trust the almighty PDP would have spotted it and made it public a long time ago. The strongest quality a Buhari candidacy brings to the table is a lack of corrupt records and a strong will to end (or at least minimise) the prevalent corruption in our landscape. To any discerning mind, this is the MOST IMPORTANT quality we need at these trying times in a country like Nigeria to restore us to the path of greatness. |
TippyTop:Now that's the exact delusion I'm talking about. Is APC a person's name?... APC as I know is made of several individuals. Are you saying all the individuals carrying the APC membership card are BH sponsors?... Why can't the individuals involved be named?... Why can't the individuals involved be arrested? Why cant the commander in chief of the armed forces and custodian of the entire national treasury order the arrest of APC? (since APC is now the name of a person) Probably the C-in-C prefers Nigerians to be continuously killed like animals because instead of arresting the sponsors, it is more politically and financially expedient to just tell Nigerians that BH is sponsored by APC so that Nigerians would vote for PDP ..(playing politics with our lives) The last time I checked, all the notable Nigerian men linked to BH have strangely been card carrying members of PDP; Alli Sheriff (PDP), Senator Ali Ndume (PDP), Gen Ihejirika (PDP). So if you want to continue deceiving yourself that BokoHaram is a political party, based on available facts and common sense, that political party is PDP. My final submission, any Nigerian with a bit of common sense should know that BH is sponsored by individuals who belong to both the PDP and APC. That someone is opposed to GEJ does not necessarily mean the person is a member of APC. The individuals who swore in 2010 to make Nigeria ungovernable because of GEJ were members of PDP. Till date, there are still a lot of PDP members who are strongly opposed to GEJ's presidency. It is only a clueless dumbo that would be swayed to believe the trash peddled by PDP that BH is sponsored by APC, yet when APC topshots choose to decamp, they are willingly accepted into PDP with their sins washed away. |
Enough of this childish 'opposition is BH sponsor' statements. Is opposition the name of a person?.. As we all know, our leaders are political prostitutes and can switch parties at any time and will no longer be termed 'opposition' so why can't names just be mentioned? Jonathan says opposition is bokoharam, Stephen Davies says opposition is bokoharam. Okay Davies, please name some of the 'opposition' members sponsoring BH?.. Next thing we hear is Alli Sheriff (PDP) and Ihejirika (PDP). It is also not news in the Nigerian circles that Senator Ali Ndume (PDP) is presently being tried by the FG for links to BH. The only unusual twist is that the FG wants a secret trial because the PDP fears the stinking can of worms that would be exposed through the trial. Secret trial or not, I'm sure the PDP will never allow that trial to take place before the 2015 elections for obvious reasons. I just wonder why Nigerians continue to allow themselves to be fooled by these vultures in government. |
Jonathan keeps saying opposition is bokoharam Stephen Davies keeps saying opposition is bokoharam Nigerians ask, Stephen Davies can you kindly name the person or persons in the opposition who are sponsoring bokoharam? Davies finally bulges but in a rare twist of events, the 2 names mentioned are individuals affiliated to the PDP and GEJ ![]() Afterwards, Stephen Davies is rejected and his credibility is denied by the PDP. Fastforward to 2 months later, PDP have started again to echo the statement of Davies that BH is the opposition.. WTF! ![]() When will our leaders and politicians just do their job and fight this terrorists without trying to play politics with our lives? ![]() As far as I am concerned, opposition isn't the name of a person because our prostituting politicians can switch party any time. To the best of my knowledge, the only big names that have been mentioned of having links to Boko Haram are Alli Sheriff (PDP), Ali Ndume (PDP) and Ihejirika (PDP). The FG even plans to try Ali Ndume secretly and I understand the secret trial is because the PDP fears the obvious can of worms that would be exposed through the trial. I just wonder why Nigerians continue to allow themselves to be deceived by these vultures in government. |
This write up was composed by FFK on his facebook page sometime ago soon as he joined PDP. The Aliyu Gwarzo man is nothing but a contrived character, a creation of FFK. Even though the Hausa-Fulani northerners have the born-to-rule mentality, I don't believe any of their prominent characters would be foolish enough to pen such a write-up whose only effect is to force non-hausa-fulani voters to despise and never vote them. This is just reverse psychology by the slimy one himself. ![]() |
hifaif:Did you just say animal abuse? ![]() I suppose it is okay then for mad wild dogs to abuse and ravage humans? Even in developed climes, if a dog did that to a kid, it will be gassed and the owners would also be severely punished. So I don't know what you are talking about. |
Zedric:I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. The initial reaction of any 4 year old would be to wish the dog dead. Although a simple word from older folks could have changed his mind but I dont see that happening in this case because I'm sure the parents also wish the dogs dead even more than the boy. I'm even surprised the dogs are still alive till now. |
Tinubu is a prophet after all... I remember when he returned from an overseas medical trip and was interviewed about his opinion on the proposed national conference. He simply described the proposed conference as deceptive and diversionary. He was about the first to foresee the conference as a waste of time, resources and as a deceptive political scheme by GEJ/PDP... I remember how we all criticized him for being an evil clueless opposition ![]() |
