This is typical evidence that portrays how confused a large number of Nigerians are when placing priorities. Jnrbayerno:Unfortunately, the reasoning behind this piece is shared by a lot of Nigerians. We care only about irrelevant things. If a typical Nigerian should share to foreigners, the factors he/she considers before voting, most foreigners would laugh on realisation of the true reasons why we are a third world nation |
@CramJones All polls should have a time limit. |
click2cbn:Due to the urban and built up nature of Lagos, most of the Lagos rail lines are elevated. The Lagos lines are almost like a 27km long flyover. That's not the case for the Abuja project which goes mainly on uninhabited dry lands. This should explain the cost difference.

Caseless:You didnt have to answer him. He simply represents the 'irredeemable zombies' and undeads which the Op talked about. Honouring him with a response wasn't necessary as it amounts to wasting courtesy on bush dogs. Unfortunately for Nigeria, just like the Op has pointed out, there are a lot of these zombies roaming our plains; hence our backwardness. |
mrborntodoit:Stop forcing yourself to sound/look silly. You feigned ignorance and asked a question to which you were given an answer. You then asked for evidence and you were also shown evidence.. But you are still asking the same question and acting as if you have been blind all these while.. Please mister, there are better ways to support your preferred political candidate other than wilfully making yourself look unreceptive to obvious information. |
mrborntodoit:I would have expected you to just keep silent or smartly change the topic of discussion but instead you have decided to speak and ridicule yourself. Whether he's a paid party agent or not, the questions he raised are very valid and any reasonable Nigerian should be worried about such issues. How can you keep arguing that the money is being deposited in the federation account yet the CBN governor and the finance minister both have no clue about these deposits?.... is the money invisible? ![]() Please there are certain things that are indefensible and trying to defend such will only make you appear silly. |
iamchiddy:Hahaha... excuse my use of the word 'Greed,' I was only joking; it's actually called 'being ambitious' and like you said, it's a very important ingredient in business. Sorry I may not be able to help you with the sales/sensitization as I'm not into sales. However I can assure you that selling hand sanitizers in Nigeria today wouldn't be a difficult task because even though ebola is gone, the ebola scare is still fresh in our minds. |
Ymodulus:Bros, sorry to digress but wetin una carry for dashboard? ![]()
|
iamchiddy:lol... Ebola isn't the only evil that can be prevented with hand sanitizers. It is still a good hygiene practice to have hand sanitizers in offices, hospitals, schools and all other public places; this is standard practice in developed nations. Your brother can start a sensitization and still get to sell his 48 containers (albeit at a slower rate) for the benefit of Nigerians. But wait oo, 48 containers? ![]() |
torhuke:Now this statement gives me butterflies in my tummy \ / |
Sijioke:If this really happened, then that's gross! ![]() |
The only thing that's constant in life is change! Yes Obi may have made a vow, but what's all this rubbish about a party uniting the Igbos?.. Uniting who biko?.. What sort of regional/tribal politics is that?... Is that even a healthy arrangement that can benefit the Igbos?.. What's the essence of having a regional party which bows down to PDP at every call but its key members are still being treated like outcasts by the PDP?... Obi has just completely served his people and now intends to go on the national level. The only way to achieve this ambition is to leave his regional party and join a national party. He has simply done what he believes is best for his career and I personally don't see how this should be a problem to anyone except the person does not wish him well. I'm sure if the Ikemba were alive today he would have even given Obi his blessings to go to whichever party he desires where he can fulfil his ministerial ambition. At least he didn't leave when he was still a governor. APGA died as a party and Ojukwu was betrayed the day when Igbos en mass started worshipping Jonathan. You can't really blame Obi for that, he only had to dance to the tunes of his people. I'm not a fan of Obi but if I must be unbiased in my judgement here, I don't think he has done anything gravely wrong by desiring to make progress in his |
olu77:Subsidy?.. Chaii!!... God dey oo! |
This Op is just a religious fanatic and bloody hypocrite. .. what is wrong in appealing to churches to close early for a state activity?... You say the carnival has no benefit to the state, do you know how many visitors and the amount of revenue that comes into the state because of that carnival? You claim that the churches happily accept the directive, that is because they are smarter than you and are not irrational religious extremists. Finally you say the man is trying God, that is absolute nonsense.. You are just an intolerant extremist. I'm sorry to say but no one shares your warped views |
Dailypost's April fool publication ![]() I'm sure this must have agitated the blood pressure of a number of people here ![]() |
Who is this Ayobase trying to force it down our throats that we have improved power supply in Nigeria? @Ayo, are you trying to say all Nigerians are blind or what?... because you have improved power in the posh estate where you stay does not mean there's improved power all over Nigeria (that's if you even truly have the improved power in your house at all)... What was the total national power generation figure in 2010 and what is the difference now?... As at July this year do you know the national output fell to below 2000mw? Like I said earlier, if power improves, it wouldnt be arguable; cos everyone would see it, feel it and talk about it. During the short stint of Barth Nnaji, there was slight improvement in power supply and guess what? .. The whole Nigeria felt and talked about it; it was continuously on the lips of everyone across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Right now you seem to be the only one experiencing this 'marked improvement' in power supply and that makes it dubious. Please spare us this unholy sermon, if you must campaign for your preferred candidate, there are other achievements to base your campaign on but certainly not power supply because that would be an insult to the sensibilities of nigerians. Haven't you even wondered why you appear to be the only Jonathan supporter on this thread?.. that's simply because your other colleagues are smart enough to know that 'power supply' is a no go area in this contest. |
The most painful part of it all is when I remember how we all leaped in joy and wild excitement when Jona became presido. The lesson learnt from this entire tale is that you should never gamble or give the benefit of a doubt to a prospective employee who has no single previous track record of achievement other than saying "he had no shoes" |
danaiks:What did? |
ayobase:Which country are we talking about?... please stop deceiving yourself because of politics. If power improves in Nigeria today, it would not be a subject of argument; it would not even need to be talked of because everyone will see and feel it. |
dulaman:Hahaha!.. such topics can never make the front page. Seun and most of his lieutenants are unapologetic PDP sympathisers ![]() |
"...if I can’t improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for the next four years.”Very strong words! It seems our leaders are always shameless and don't give a damn even as they eat their own words! ![]() |
Odikwa risky!!! ![]() |
I was just going through archives and I bumped into this piece which was an authoritative declaration by Jonathan in 2011; how time flies!! I‘ll not contest 2015 election – Jonathan |
Unlike crude oil which can be extracted and refined, you can extract a hippopotamus from the swamps but cannot take the swamp out of the hippopotamus - Wole Soyinka Fayose giving the people exactly what he promised them. I hope this ends well ![]()

naijababe:Just like the poster above me has said, a My dear, Nigeria's problem has never been a lack of ideas or a lack of brilliant and productive policies. The problem has always been greed and corruption of our leaders preventing the good policies from being implemented. Right from the IBB days, every single successive government has had progressive policies being proposed by some of the finest minds Nigeria has to offer. But attempting to implement these policies amidst the prevalent corruption is like attempting to fetch water with a basket, it never works! .. and that explains why we have the finest minds and ideas but the nation keeps retrogressing from one government to the next. Buhari is obviously not presentable, he's not eloquent, he represents the old generation and of course, the silly 'Islamist' tag hovers over his head but there is something which everyone agrees he has which is something you hardly ever find in the Nigerian corridors of power, INTEGRITY!!! Nigeria does not really need a president with all the ideas in this world and ideally, the presidency is just a ceremonial position. All that is needed is a sincere selection of bright minds as ministers, advisers and heads of institutions (Nigeria has an abundance of bright minds). All the presidents job should be is to ensure that his appointees are delivering on their duties and not capitalising on the opportunity to steal. THis is one area Jonathan has extensively proven himself to be lacking. Nigeria also needs a person who can look the Nepa or NNPC cabal in the face and put them in their place, not a president who in fear of the cabal would rather deny or downplay their activities before Nigerians because he doesn't want to be thought weak (e.g. No money is missing, if money is missing america will know). |
Watching a Jonathan interview and watching a Buhari interview, I cringe in embarrassment for the kind of top candidates we always produce in Nigeria. Both men appear to be clueless and ineloquent but come the 2015 elections, if all I am left to choose from is a Buhari or a Jonathan, I would definitely go with Buhari who at least has a rare quality which no Nigerian leader in both PDP or APC has ever had, INTEGRITY! |
clemz88:...I am shocked by the humility.. daz all |
Unfortunately, social media is populated with enlightened people but at the end of the day, it's mainly the unenlightened folks in the villages who constitute the largest proportion of voters; these village folks can easily be bought with bags of rice, e.g. APC rice vs PDP rice, we all know which party can afford more rice. ![]() |
I thought they said this man had $10million? ![]() |
Is this a new way to insult GEJ? ![]() |
Keenysbojan:First of all, I don't think there's anything wrong in using that phrase. It's just an informal way of speech. Secondly, it's not used only in Nigeria as most people here think. It's used all over the world in English speaking countries; in fact it's far more common in the UK and US and that's where our youths are copying it from. It's laughable how so many people on this thread have already jumped on the bandwagon and agreed it is wrong English used only by Nigerians (especially girls) ![]()
