APC should call their armed wing to order since they went into hibernation when they were jostling for VP slot so that nigerians can follow their VP nomination process.
So APC is politically behind bokoharam and they are busy terrorising their main supporters who will give them the votes to defeat PDP?...

In your wisdom you genuinely believe everybody in APC is too daft... that is why they don't know that bombing yobe, borno, adamawa and now recently Kano which are all APC strongholds will hinder voters turnout in areas and consequently reduce their votes?

Continuously believing that APC is behind bokoharam even now in 2014 is pure evidence that too many Nigerians just lack the basic ability to think out of the box.

Religious terrorists keep slaughtering people while Nigerians in their usual manner keep misdiagnosing them for politicians. This singular misdiagnosis is the reason why Nigeria has been unable to nip this cankerworm.
Education › Re: Court Cancels Disparity In Federal Colleges’ Admission Requirements by obailala(m): 11:11am On Dec 18, 2014
It is sickening to be reminded that such a retrogressive system has been in existence for decades... A country which glaringly discourages and suppresses intelligence, hardwork and competence and then goes ahead to promote and glorify incompetence and mediocrity... and yet we wonder why our educational system keeps declining everyday when we practice Kakistocracy.

I really hope and pray that this judgement would be upheld and extended to every other facet of our lives - University admission, federal appointments, federal scholarships etc.

Kudos to Agbakoba!

Save your strength bro!

A vast majority of Nigerians were born into a lawless society and unfortunately, lawlessness and anarchy is the only thing they know. Present them with anything lawful and their souls would repel it violently.

Fortunately, a good number of us have been able to mentally emancipate ourselves from the shackles of the anarchy we have in our society but again, you can't really expect every Tom, Dickk and Harry to be mentally sound.

An advice for you once again, save your strength. He's not worth you energy

I weep for this country!

We all know our military is very corrupt, in fact we all know that corruption in Nigeria started from the military. It is however very disheartening that our top military officers would now push this corruption to the diabolic level of sacrificing their soldiers on a daily basis just to satisfy their unquenching greed.

It is even more disheartening that even though an infant or an idiiot knows the military is corrupt, a lot of people on this thread have chosen to view this obvious truth as political bashing from the opposition... Nigeria is really full of sick people! angry

A retired general

Former head of state

Ptf chairman, do not have any single business, not even a pure water factory as you people want us to believe. How can such a man manage our economy?

No one is asking him to own a university or big businesses like other corrupt politicians, but investing or having any traceable business after holding those key positions tells about his thinking ability

Either the man is clueless for never investing after retirement or he's hiding something period. You can't tell me he contested three (3) elections with donations from friends and family members
..and what makes you feel he doesn't have those little businesses and other standard things you have mentioned?... He lives in a nice house in a high brow area of Kaduna, he's from katsina and I'm sure he must have a house in his home town. His military pension and benefits as a past head of state is also enough for him to live a modest comfortable life and he has chosen to do so.

Simply because he has chosen a modest life instead of the flamboyant lifestyle of typical African past leaders, some homosapiens now consider him a clueless ediot?... With such reasoning abound and we still wonder why Africa is the dark continent undecided

If you ask for plans, they'll tell you he will fight corruption. In Nigeria today, who is more corrupt than those currently hanging around Buhari in APC? Can the product of corruption fight corruption? Assuming he even intends to fight corruption, the question is how does he intend to do that? aren't we entitled to know how?
First of all, may I point out that in addition to the people who surround GEJ being equally corrupt as the ones surrounding GMB, GEJ himself is also seriously tainted with the corruption bug and he even proudly defends the filth.

On the other hand, I'm glad you agree that it is only the people around GMB who are corrupt and not the man himself. That in my opinion is the first step in minimising corruption.
Politics › Re: Buhari: My Plan For Nigeria by obailala(m): 11:43am On Dec 12, 2014
PointB:
Because Buhari is as clueless as they come, you can see several of his fan opening threads to make plans for him. A man who couldn't plan his retirement, has no meaningful source of income, has no house, and has no money at his age, in incapable of thinking.

Buhari has no plan, because he can't think through policies, hopefully his VP will provide him with plans and leadership.
In your typical Nigerian depraved mind, your definition of a good thinker who planned his retirement is someone who owns houses in all cities of the world and has billions littered in his account right?... Have you ever thought of the possibility of a person preferring a modest life?

Who told you he does not own the house he presently lives in?... Who told you he doesn't have just enough money to feed himself and cater for his family?... Isn't it strange that we as Nigerians (and by extension all Africans) have the worst set of yardsticks we use to measure success and yet we wonder why Africa still remains the dark continent?

Okay, if a country decides to ban Nigerians or any other national from getting into their country for any rrason whatsoever, that is their business.

Where i have a problem however is that the travellers are not pre-informed in anyway. Why should a person be left to travel all the way only to be deported at the gates?... Is there no way in which such information can be passed to immigration authorities all over the world so the travellers dont bother stepping into the plane at all?

A similar thing thing happened to a friend who travelled to iraq for a project but was turned back at the airport. Is there not a way these travellers can be pre informed?

Gov Fashola Ignorantly Seeks A Cut In Petrol Pump Price

I think Fashola has raised a pertinent question which is worthy of sensible debates. Two things I do not understand however is why the word 'ignorantly' was used in the title of this thread and why the Nairaland MODs happily placed this topic on the frontpage without deeming it fit to edit the title.

Typically, it is in situations like this I would have expected the MODs to edit the topic but it is unfortunate they cannot even hide their political bias.

Anyway, all I can say to seun and his lieutenants in the voice of PEJ is "continue"

FRUSTRATED JAN.JAWEED!!

JUST 3 AMOUNG OTHERS:

1.Total renovation and transformation of Enugu Airport into an International airport.

2.Award of Contract for the contruction of 2nd River Niger Bridge.

3.The bulk of appointments into sensitive positions in this adminitration were given to people from South East.
Just one Eg,Since the end of the Biafran war, there was a conspiracy to prevent persons from SE from holding the office of the Chief of Army Staff, but under GEJ it was posible.

GEJ has touched SE more than his own SS and more is coming to the southeast in the next 4years.
Shabby renovation of the enugu airport when brand new airports are built in other parts of the country and some people think this is a grand achievement?

The wild promise of the 2nd niger bridge which every single president in Nigeria's history has used to dupe the south easterners but yet we still willingly allow ourselves to be deceived.. God help us!

Finally, that the appointment of an Igbo COAS is seen as a grand achievement worth celebrating truly tells you that a lot is wrong with the psyche of the person quoted above (and any other who buys into such silly ideologies)

Anybody that criticises the government automatically becomes an APC member (even if the person also criticises apc). Some jonathan supporters are just plain dumb and their silliness becomes more and more irritating by the day.

I'm still wondering what the bits about Wole being a traditionalist has to do with the fact that jonathan is a useless president who deserves all the criticism in this world.

If you must attempt a prison escape, ESCAPE. If you can't, then stay put even when the gates are wide open. A failed attempt to escape is a big disappointment, especially when the bars are down.
Don't believe everything you hear or read in the news (especially when it's a police statement). It's very likely that the so called 'recaptured' inmates were the ones who actually stayed put when the gates were wide open.

Ezedon:
I wonder when Baba start de blow this kind grammar that made me to check dictionary, but come to think of it, why is it that they(past presidents) the founding fathers did nothing to prevent it rather that blaming d present govt for not defeating boko haram
You see this is exactly the reason why we are not moving forward as a nation. We keep passing the blame to ghosts and at the end, no one gets to do anything. Whenever an inherent issue is raised about our society, some people jump into defence and say the problem did not start with the present administration. But is that a reason why the problem should be allowed to flourish?... People complain that a problem is not being tackled at all and the defence is always, "the problem started from previous regimes." So are we going to ask ghosts (past presidents) to come and solve the problem they created?... Why do we have a sitting president if not to solve the mess created by past administrations?

Just like OBJ has pointed out here, the reason the bokoharam menace has gotten to this extent is because instead of studying and understanding the gravity of the problem, Jonathan and his crew misdiagnosed and dismissed BH as a tool used to destabilise his government. That singular misdiagnosis is what has led Nigeria to the present state we find ourselves. Although it is not too late to salvage the situation but unfortunately, so many people still see the BH insurgence from this myopic prism.
Politics › Re: Reps Did No Wrong Jumping National Assembly Gate –keyamo by obailala(m): 6:29pm On Nov 25, 2014
Of course some actions are embarrassingly necessary. The gate-scaling actions of the APC lawmakers was most expedient at the time to checkmate the impending PDP illegality of locking the speaker and APC lawmakers out and conducting a scam impeachment.

Judging by the kind of democracy we practice in Nigeria, if the APC lawmakers did not jump those gates, the speaker would have been impeached in absentia and Tambuwal would have been asked to seek redress in court (by Nigerian standards we all know what that means).
