Corruption is the greatest problem hindering Nigeria's progress. Nigerians are diligent, Nigerians are intelligent, Nigerians are smart and Nigerians have never ever lacked ideas on the way to move forward. Nigeria is also blessed with abundant human and material resources and as such, has no reason being poor or undeveloped. The only reason we are where we are today is because of corruption and impunity. Any leadership that can nip or even just minimise corruption will set Nigeria on an unstoppable path to massive development. Attempting to develop the nation without making a single attempt to check corruption (e.g. GEJ) is likened to fetching water with a basket. Any leader who shows even if it's just only a 'willingness' to tackle corruption definitely gets my votes and prayers. His/her religion or ethnicity is not my problem at this time because after arranging my priorities, I think I need a person who is willing to tackle corruption more than I need a person who is from my tribe or religion. Buhari may not look presentable, Buhari may be old, Buhari may be from the arrogant Hausa-Fulani born-to-Rule clan, but judging from the present crop of individuals we have vying for the top position, Buhari happens to be the only one with a considerably impeccable record in terms of corruption and he's also the only one who has fixed a 1-point agenda which is to stop the corrupt 'business as usual' in higher places, which we all know is our real problem as a nation. |
samflex:Even if she did (i don't know her), but these 2 pictures posted here cannot be used as evidence to show that she's bleaching; the pics just have different lighting and cant be used as basis for comparison. |
samplegirl:It is disheartening that some individuals can't still see anything wrong with the present |
backtosender:"No single project from APC party flag bearer" Are you serious about this your statement?.... You expect the APC candidate who does not occupy any government position to come and execute projects for you?.... You are about to re-elect the PDP led government which has been in power for 15 years but have done nothing for you.... your reason being that the APC candidates who lost elections and are not in the nation's leadership have not executed any projects?... Are you okay?.... ![]() May your children adopt your smart reasoning which you have displayed above and may your life and family be governed just the way GEJ/PDP is governing Nigeria presently ![]() |
ovadoze:Continue deceiving yourself like the rest of the Nigerians from the SE. You scream that APC is your problem as if most if not all the members of APC weren't part of PDP before and probably will still return to PDP later. Name all the APC bigwigs and check their political history. Also when the so called APC evil men decide to cross over to PDP, they are warmly welcome and in your delusion, they suddenly become saints (including shady characters like Alli Sheriff). Now you say no government has done anything for ala Igbo, inclusive of a Buhari who ruled for 20 months. The question I ask of you is, if no government has done anything for ala Igbo, what then is your support for PDP which has ruled for the past 15 years based on?... Which major project has the PDP done for ala Igbo to make them deserve you praise, admiration and support?... Or is it the monumental looting of our collective wealth and institutionalisation of corruption which obviously is the core agenda of the present government? You claim Buhari is a tribal bigot who wants to impress sharia on the entire Nigeria and I ask you, how is that even possible?... He wants to convert Nigerians by force to Islam but he didn't think about it or do it when he was a military dictator with absolute powers, but instead you now believe he wants to and would be able to do it as a civilian head of state in a democracy?... Continue deceiving yourself! As far as I'm concerned, the PDP has done a good job at poisoning the mind of southerners against Buhari. The only reason they (PDP & even APC elite) detest him is because his leadership would halt the 'business as usual' hence they have employed every tactics in the book to fight him. Fortunately for them, Nigerians are naturally religious bigots so the only tactic that has worked so far is the 'religious card.' |
daveP:u need to visit enugu. |
Topics like this should be put on the frontpage to drag the attention of the PDP leadership to fix this road instantly for the sake of 2015 campaign... If there is enough awareness on the state of this road and also the Aba-Ikot ekpene road, it would force the present administration to do something about it before 2015. As for the irrational support of Igbos for the present administration, I believe it is due to a hatred for the domineering attitude of the north and not necessarily due to any special achievements. |
darlingtonNYIG:lol... Images look like they were taken with a nokia 3310 ![]() |
achi4u:lol... I know I shouldn't have used the word mental disorder but my point is that in Nigeria we like to make a mountain out of a mole hill. We like to read between the lines even when there's nothing written at all. I personally do not see how the Op's post is demeaning to people of Ebonyi. It is no news that Nigeria is in a mess with successive generations of bad leadership. Whoever the poster is, he has just expressed his despair at the lack of required development in his state which in my opinion is also a despair felt in every state of the federation. I travel to Aba and complain of the bad roads and I would be attacked by defensive Abians who ask me if I dont also have bad roads in Imo state . In Nigeria we exhibit a kind of self defence which in my opinion is silly. |
daveP:What's the meaning of this question?... are they not humans too? Anyway u need to visit a town like enugu and experience the unexplainable anomaly where even pepper, tomato and crayfish hawkers have impeccably unblemished skin ![]() |
achi4u:Nigerians and paranoia! Someone opened a thread to drag the attention of Nigerians to his home state which he feels lacks development and the only thing some people of the state think is that he is an outsider trying to ridicule the state... Achi4u, I hope you know paranoia is a mental disorder?... What you have simply exhibited with this your response is a clear case of paranoia. How is this thread insulting to Ebonyi indigenes? Is the Op lying about what he has stated? |
onuebonyi:SGF?... You mean the sleeping obese man? |
To be honest, the write-up did not do justice to its title; in fact, the write-up further promoted the distrust, disunity and bad-blood between the SW and SE. I would have expected the author to come up with balanced points which would make the SW and SE drop their hatchets and appreciate the reason why they need work together if Nigeria must move forward. I am sorry to say this but the North is visibly the region which has stagnated Nigeria's progress over the decades. Unfortunately, as long as the SW and SE continue to be disunited, the north would continue to dominate and drag Nigeria backwards. There is nothing wrong in a healthy competition between 2 zones however what we have between the SW and SE is just pure foolishness. I really do not understand why these zones cannot drop their idiocy for once and see the clear writing on the wall that the north is the real opponent which they need to fight in unity. The toxic 'federal character' policy which has been a major ingredient of Nigerian backwardness, if only the SW and SE could work together, that silly policy should have been expunged a long time ago. Also, true federalism if implemented would actually restore the diligence and ingenuity of Nigeria and Nigerians. But the last time I checked from the last national conference, it's only the north that is sitting on the realisation of this target and as long as the SW and SE continue to foolishly fight themselves for no clear reason, their real enemies (the north) would continue to have the upper hand and drag the entire nation backwards. |
noblezone:Whenever I remember we still have such a toxic policy in practice, I just feel sick |
Nice song and video... |
samflexxy:Nigerians una too dey derive pleasure from accusing everyone of bleaching. So you mean you can't tell the difference between an obvious camera flash fallout on the left picture and a picture taken under poor lighting conditions on the right?... Everything to Nigerians has to be bleach sotee dem blame basket mouth say him blech him left hand ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/1781578_cynthiamorgan11_jpeg67f9b491f017d2471a46c31bdba619e6 |
timilehing:What is this one talking about?... What you have just written, 1. Is that a typo? 2. Is it sarcasm? 3. Are you just trying too hard to sound silly? Please tell me it's either 1 or 2 |
pendy79:Yeah but the chunks you need to win an election is a bit more than the random chunks you are referring to here. |
ISpiksDaTroof:I agree with you, we strongly need a Buhari like personality to restore some order and sanity into the corruption ridden system before we start thinking of presidents with 'ideas.' My point is that, you cannot win an election by totally ignoring an entire zone; in fact not just a zone but the entire SS & SE (2 zones). In my opinion, a Fashola candidacy would gather 10 times more votes from these zones than a Buhari. As much as I understand the dire need to firstly sanitize the system by a Buhari, I also think the first step to achieving this feat is to unseat the incumbent Jonathan. In my opinion, I dont think a Buhari candidacy can pull that off given the ethno, tribal and religious polarisation existing in Nigeria today. |
pendy79:APC cannot win a national election if they are not bothered about votes from these regions; now we aren't talking about 100% of the votes but just a little chunk of it. |
ISpiksDaTroof:Yeah but remember, the SE and SS has the highest cluster of Jonathanians... Anyone hoping to unseat Jonathan has to think of dividing these camps. I don't understand your question about 'wanting northerners', but my point is that a lot of Nigerian minds have already been poisoned about a Buhari candidacy and hence, he may not be a sellable candidate at this point to unseat Jonathan. He would have been the a good president for Nigeria at this time no doubt, but the focus for now should first of all be to defeat GEJ which is something I dont think Buhari can do. |
pendy79:What you have said is true and the PDP would definitely capitalize on the ethnic/tribal card to fight a Fashola candidacy. But lets examine it this way, imagine Nigerians are presented with a GEJ vs Fashola choice?.. If this scenerio arises, first of all, I can bet my last buck the entire southwest and Lagos would go for Fash. Secondly, even though the domineering and tribalistic northerners would be greatly disturbed and sickened that APC isn't fielding a northern Hausa-Fulani candidate, I can bet my last buck they would rather have a Fashola meal instead of a Jonathan any day; in fact, they would rather vote a goat instead of Jonathan. Lastly and most importantly, the Jonathanians of the SE and SS extraction; I can assure you that most of these people do not really like Jonathan and most are actually aware of his incompetence and shortcomings. The support for GEJ is rather due to a hatred for the domineering attitude of the North. While a lot would still remain Jonathanians, I am sure a lot of these people would reconsider their Jonathanian allegiance if they are presented with a non-Hausa-Fulani northerner. Fashola is the only candidate from the APC that can have this effect on the SS/SE |
From my calculations, Fashola may not really be the god people paint him to be, but in the present scheme of things, he's well ahead of his contemporaries and he stands out as the ONLY person in the entire APC organisation whose candidacy can truly cause a stir in the GEJ camp; a Fashola candidacy would definitely divide the Jonathanian camp in the SE and SS and that is the ONLY chance the APC has at unseating PDP in 2015. Anything else and i'm afraid, Nigerians would unfortunately just have to endure with the clueless one and his toxic leadership for another 4 (or even more) torturous years. Buhari would have been a good candidate but the PDP has done a very good job at poisoning the mind of the people with the 'Islamist' tag. It's unfortunate but in the Nigeria of today, Buhari cannot beat an incumbent Jonathan candidate. APC faithfuls might feel Buhari is the only candidate who can gather Northern votes but that is a bloody lie. With the irrational hatred the North has for Jonathan today, even if APC fields a pig, the North would vote massively for the livestock instead of Jonathan. |
What kind of fvckery is this?.. The guy has just rendered his life irredeemable |
okpismart: mkpakanaodogwu:This report is strange cos Jonathan didn't feature in any of the pictures at the event. I think I only saw his Godfather Alams |
doctokwus: Kayceo2010:You guys are totally mistaken. This unholy endorsement will definitely win the senator many votes. Do you know the kind of influence some of these men of God wield?... Especially in the overly religious Nigerian society where people worship pastors more than they worship God himself? I think it is totally wrong for men of God to openly show support for any political candidate. This can easily sway the votes of many followers from far and wide especially those who haven't made a choice on their preferred candidate. |
eldoradoxx:Now this makes much more sense.. Haba!.. I for fear just now ![]() |
Sagamite:Very true... For all those shouting revolution revolution! from my personal study of the Nigerian psyche, I have come to a conclusion that a revolution by the people can never happen/work in Nigeria because the moment it is started, it is the same people you think you are fighting for that would slaughter you for the most flimsy reason. Simply put, a lot of Nigerians have got their priorities absolutely wrong. If youu criticise the governor of Bayelsa for this senseless profligacy, I am sure the first people to attack you would be some indigent Bayelsans who would accuse you of being jealous of their state government house being the biggest in Africa; talk of priorities. In the Nigeria of today, the only kind of revolution which is possible is if it starts from the top; i.e. if a no-nonsense powerful hardliner with a goodwill and strong focus becomes the presidentt. |
Bayelsa State again!! Considering the population and land mass of bayelsa state, it should be about the richest state in Nigeria. However, the people of Bayelsa are about the poorest and they live in pitiable squalor and backwardness. With the low population and the little land mass, developing a state like Bayelsa shouldn't be too difficult if only their leaders were not diabolically incompetent and focusless. Not long ago, we had the saga of the over N24billion Bayelsan Government House named “The Glory Land Castle” which was touted to be the most expensive in the country. The edifice was ridiculously expensive that even the present governor Dickson forbade himself from living in it and we thought he was being reasonable. I believe the “Glory Land Castle” still remains vacant presently but the 'saintly' gov Dickson has just splashed even larger funds (N33billion) on a new government office. How did these BASTARDS even become our leaders? ![]() I remember the CNN expose on the monumental waste called the Bayelsan government house by Timipre Sylva https://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=262914688153 Below is a report on what they called "The Unsuitable Government House". Gov. Dickson complained that the edifice was too expensive and for that reason, has decided to build a more modest edifice albeit at a higher cost. ![]() http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/bayelsa-s-unsuitable-government-house/146296/ Does Bayelsa state have a world class hospital?.. Does the state have world class schools or even roads?... The only thing Niger-Delta governors think of is "world class government houses" which serves one man. Every governor wants to build a government house and they would tout it as an achievement. With the accruing oil revenue, a state like Bayelsa has no excuse to be undeveloped. I really pity the poor people in the Niger-Delta areas if true federalism and full resource control is granted. |
Every person who criticises the government is APC and bokoharam sympathiser. We are not even allowed to complain when nepa takes light anymore else you risk being labelled ![]() |
great1:Huh?.. Did you just say 'chip'? Now let me give you a simple analogy. If there is a breaking news and there are 2 blogs reporting the news, which blog would you click? 1) 'unknown' blog 2) LindaIkeji blog I am sure we all know which blog you and I will click. In fact it would be assumed that the other poor hungry bloggers are the ones copying Linda's stories. The effect of this is that if there are 1 million people reading that breaking news, over 999,900 would rather read the news on LindaIkeji's blog instead of the unknown, unverified blog. Do you know what that means?.. it literally means that the only plate of food owned by the poor blogger was taken away by the bigger blogger (who already has several warehouses filled with food). This case typically reminds me of the story of king David in the bible taking away his poor neighbour's single lamb and preparing peppersoup for his guest. When the poor neigbour complained, he was killed (just like Nigerians are presently murdering the 'unknown' blogger for daring to complain). Now the right thing to do would have been to simply fix a tiny microscopic and even hardly visible inscription at the bottom of the story saying, "culled from bla bla bla.com" By acknowledging the other blogger, the big blogger would still take over 999,000 of the visitors but at least a few hundred people would decide to just open the smaller blogger's site at their spare time to see what he has and that would mean a win-win situation for both parties. |
eaglechild:What proof are you looking for when the facts are staring you in the face?... Almost all bloggers in Nigeria do copy and paste. Linda herself did not even deny copying, all she came up with as her defence was that "everybody does it." So I don't know what other proof you are still looking for ![]() |
