You know anything about life? What kinda law? Shey South Africa companies in Nigeria dey pay their full dues? Listen, get to the top and see dirty deals, this is not the first time of them dealing okay?
So what point are you trying to make now Mister?

Are you advocating for anarchy and lawlessness from the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because you think some South African private companies do illegal deals in Nigeria?... Wow!.. what a smart suggestion.

Even if some South African companies do illegal deals in Nigeria as you say, who allows them to do those deals?.. Are there not officials of the Nigerian government whose job it is to regulate and checkmate those activities?

Are you even listening to yourself or rather, do you even read what you type before you click the 'submit' button?

Take away the anonymity of Nairaland, if you were interviewed on TV, can you repeat the things you are saying here?

South Africans are just looking for trouble, if you ever stayed in South Africa you will know they are very corrupt in all facet, these deals has been going on for decades but just because they want to beef up their economy they are now looking for loop holes, illegal transaction of weapons has been in existence in all corners of the world. They should know Nigerians are very good in Payback.

Are you blaming SA for enforcing a simple law which exists all over the world?

I THINK SHOULD BE REFER TO apc AND THERE EVIL PROPAGANDA MACHINES AND foot soldier e.g the nation newspaper, the punch newspaper and sahara reporter by extension>demdem, berem, bacanistan, ekoile, and madam obiageli too numerous to mention! Sometimes when you read there write up, comments you will know that they command good english and well articulate, but when look at the bases for there reasoning you will see that a peasant farmer is better than then, thinking-wise.
This is exactly the reason why the govt has not defeated Bh since. Playing the politics of vague finger pointing; playing politics with our lives. PDP comes out and announces that APC is in support of BH and APC comes out and says PDP is incapable of defeating BH.

As long as our leaders and by extension, the followers continue to point fingers at political opponents instead of focusing on our common enemies as a nation, BH militants will continue to be encouraged.... Blaming punchnewspaper or premium times or sahara reporters who only report the carnage as being BH sympathisers is just plain silly, especially when we all know who the real blame should go to..

SamIkenna:
Word brother. The emboldened is where I rest my case. I careless about GEJ. However, if the option on the table today is core north vs dumbo, I'll let dumbo have it. Enough of the Core-Northern threats, irresponsible political brinkmanship, careless rhetoric, and born-to-rule buffoonery.

I've said this before: My caring on who occupies Abuja in 2015 stops the moment a core-northerner steps in. They need to be re-oriented that they're not the only ones breathing in Nigeria. They love to talk 'one Nigeria' but hardly practice it so let's wake up fellas. If good governance is the key ingredient we're looking for in 2015 then there are tons of people from North central, Midwest, South West, South East, and South south that are qualified to be vetted. But no! It has to be Arewa for some folks. The same Arewa that swore to take away our sleep after 2011 election and eventually delivered on their promise.

Put Oshomole, Donal Duke, George Akume, Fashola, Chime, and even Ogbeni and loquacious Okorocha forward and I'll reconsider my support for GEJ. But as long as the opposition thinks Arewas are now progressives then they can knock themselves out with it.
Your honestly and clarity on this matter is much appreciated and I would like to believe most other Igbos supporting Jona share your views. It is becoming clearer from this thread that the Igbo support for GEJ isn't really due to any special qualities or achievements or favours from the man. Rather the massive support is born out of a mistrust for the SW and an outright hatred for the North and their born-to-rule buffoonery.

Now even as this is quite understandable, it is always good to call a spade a spade. For a large proportion of Igbos to almost literally worship an obviously incompetent, corrupt and confused man and even go to the ridiculous extent of calling him 'God sent,' I think that is very disturbing and embarrassing. If only more people can be like yourself and openly state the real reason they support Jonathan (which is due to a hatred of the effrontery of the North), it would clear a lot of confusion and to an extent, reduce the mockery we've been making of ourselves since this administration.
Politics › Re: Igbos Jonathan And 2015 by obailala(m): 8:40pm On Oct 05, 2014
Indeed, there is a Jonathan frenzy throughout Igboland. But it is not founded on any discernible rationality
This is something that I really do not understand. I keep trying to wonder how Igbos were bought over. There is absolutely no rationale behind the massive support Igbos have shown to Jonathan. Even the core Niger Deltans (inclusive of fellow Ijaws) don't show the same level of blind support for GEJ.

True, a number of Igbo people have under Jonathan been appointed to “juicy positions”. There are more Igbo private jet owners now than ever.
This is another myopic reasoning that could be cited as a reason why Igbos should support GEJ. A smart observation of the Nigerian landscape ince 2010 would reveal that the influx of private jets and massive wealth (albeit through illegal means) is not restricted to any section of the country. Since his rise to power, GEJ opened the floodgates of our national treasury and everybody irrespective of tribe, religion or ethnicity has gained from the free for all plundering exercise being supervised by GEJ himself. It would be very myopic for anyone to think that any particular section of the country is gaining more under this regime.

kettykin:
...
To be sure, Igbo leaders are at liberty to support any person. But such an endorsement should be on certain conditions which must hinge on the long-term interests of Ndigbo. The current hysteria over Jonathan without negotiating any deal for the development of our homeland belittles all of us. It does not portray a people prepared, in Achebe’s words, to join the rest of the world step into the 21st century with restored hope and dignity.

http://leadership.ng/columns/385666/ndigbo-jonathan
To round it up, I really cannot place my hands on why Igbos have decided to worship GEJ; the more I try to figure it out, the more I sink into deeper confusion. @Op, I would however warn you to be ready for a backlash from people who think they are more Igbo than you are; from people who cannot tolerate any Igbo son thinking differently or thinking out of the box. Be prepared to be labelled an efulefu and a hungry APC agent.

On the contrary, the TANoids are not daft. You know there are Jonathanians and there are TANoids. All TANoids are Jonathanians but not all Jonathanians are TANoids. The Jonathanians are those that 'blindly' follow and worship Jonathan while the TANoids are Jonathanians who are registered PDP members. I say the TANoids are not daft because at least the do what they do for money unlike other Jonathanians who do so strictly because of ethnic or religious affiliations which eventually brings them nothing. grin

The news (or rumour) that Shekau is still alive isn't funny at all. I would have expected reasonable humans to demand to see the so called video evidence. This is the same ol' bullcrap defence Nigerians keep coming up with all the time for mediocrity. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the movie is mediocre cos I haven't even watched it. I am only referring to the basis of your defence of the movie which is that "only directors or actors have a right to criticise." That's a very wrong assumption.

I dont support outright cancellation of the internet call up letters but the cost should be slashed instead to about N500

Politics › Re: “There Is So Much Eagerness To Discredit Us"- Nigerian Military by obailala(m): 8:32pm On Sep 30, 2014
BraniacX: well said dude, though i should point out to you that the army doesn't give orders to the press so saying "ordering the press" is a form of misrepresentation. Also, the ghost reporters you mentioned if their reporting is imbalanced as in when they report NA failures but not their succeses which has brought about the belief whether right or wrong that they are opposition affiliates. But on everything else i agree with you.
Just to clarify, the order to the press was from the FG and not the army.

Secondly, try not to flow with the crowd that base their judgement entirely on the sentimental words and half truths peddled by nairaland politicians. Please do a quick research and mention one of the military victories which was not reported at all by SR or premium-times?... You should also understand that SR is known for reporting what others can't (due to govt restrictions), hence concentrating on this 'selling point' is the reason their reports appear imbalanced...

Lastly, regarding SR affiliations with the opposition, I believe this is common sense; SR opposed OBJ, they opposed yaradua and now they clearly oppose GEJ... Simply put, they focus on the govt in power and deliver scathing criticism. In the Nigeria of today, simple minds believe that any individual or group which criticizes the govt must be an opposition affiliate. So if it pleases anybody, it is ok to say SR is APC.

Politics › Re: “There Is So Much Eagerness To Discredit Us"- Nigerian Military by obailala(m):
There's a difference between outright discrediting of the Nigerian Military and simply stating the obvious. I would categorically say it that the Nigerian military is weak against the tiny insurgence and the reason for this is clearly before our very eyes.

There are several moles in the military aiding bokoharam. There are also a lot of stinkingly corrupt top defence chiefs who through their corruption has rendered the almighty Nigerian military spineless in the face of a tiny bokoharam insurgence... The political leadership of Nigeria is also culpable; a lot of people in power are profiting massively from the huge defence budgets. Even the recently approved $1billion dollars will still go down the drain if the corruption infesting the system is not tackled.

Ordering Newspapers not to report the atrocities of BH does not mean the atrocities were not being committed daily. Also, ghost websites like Sahara reporters and premium times reporting the situation as it is does not mean they are in support of the BH massacre.

Until our leaders stop playing politics with our lives (accusing opposition for BH) and focus their attention on those corrupt military chiefs and civilian accomplices in the defence ministry who loot defence budgets, the Nigerian Military will continue to be spineless.

topeayan: When I say that the Presidency must come to the north next year I am referring to the Hausa-Fulani core north and not any northern christian or muslim minority tribe.

The Christians in the north such as the Berom, the Tiv, the Kataf, the Jaba, the Zuru, the Sayyawa, the Bachama, the Jukun, the Idoma and all the others are nothing and the muslim minorities in the north, including the Kanuri, the Nupe, the Igbira, the Babur, the Shuwa Arabs, the Marghur and all the others know that when we are talking about leadership in the north and in Nigeria, Allah has given it to us, the Hausa-Fulani.

They can grumble, moan and groan as much as they want but each time they go into their bedrooms to meet their wives and each time they get on their prayer mats to begin their prayers, it is we the Fulani that they think of, that they fear, that they bow to and that they pray for.

Some of them are even ready to give us their wives and daughters for one nights sport and pleasure. They owe us everything. This is because we gave them Islam through the great Jihad waged by Sheik Usman Dan Fodio.

We also captured Ilorin, killed their local King and installed our Fulani Emir. We took that ancient town away from the barbarian yoruba and their filthy pagan gods. We liberated all these places and all these people by imposing islam on them by force.

It was either the Koran or the sword and most of them chose the Koran. In return for the good works of our forefathers Allah, through the British, gave us Nigeria to rule and to do with as we please. Since 1960 we have been doing that and we intend to continue.

No Goodluck or anyone else will stop us from taking back our power next year. We will kill, maim, destroy and turn this country into Africa's biggest war zone and refugee camp if they try it. Many say we are behind Boko Haram. My answer is what do you expect? We do not have economic power or intellectual power. All we have is political power and they want to take even that from us.

We must fight and we will fight back in order to keep it. They have brought in the infidels from America and the pigs from Israel to help them but they will fail. The war has just begun, the Mujahadeen are more than ready and by Allah we shall win.

If they don't want an ISIS in Nigeria then they must give us back the Presidency and our political power. Their soldiers are killing our warriors and our people every day but mark this: even if it takes one hundred years we will have our revenge.

Every Fulani man that they kill is a debt that will be repaid even if it takes 100 years. The Fulani have very long memories.''- ALIYU GWARZO. From Femi Fani- Kayode facebook wall
This ALIYU GWARZO must be a fictional character created by FFK himself. The entire write-up seems to me like pure reverse psychology orchestrated by FFK/PDP.

The primary aim and objective of this write-up is to create religious and ethnic disharmony; to prick the sensibilities of southerners and non-Hausa-Fulani northerners so that they would never vote a northern Muslim. This is pure politics and this is a missile launched by the PDP.

My common sense tells me even if this is what Hausa-Fulani people think in their hearts, there's no way they would come out openly to circulate a write-up like this which has only one effect, i.e. to incite the rest of Nigeria against them. This is pure reverse psychology from the slimy one himself, FFK. grin
