horsepower102:The desperation by some fellows to hail GeJ and vilify PMB couldn't get more ridiculous and shameless. |
bhella10:Whatever happened in Mali only worked because it was backed by the people. How can you want the Malian solution yet anyone who dares to start/lead it, you sit behind your computer and run them down? How exactly do you then want it to happen? You want God himself to come down and lead it? The bizarre part of all these is, even when you expect the politicians and those in govt to be the ones pulling them down, it's actually the ordinary Nigerians who claim to want a revolution that do the pulling down. Wonderful! |
bhella10:Well, please allow me to rant; I am not Sowore, but I can only imagine what he feels when he sees comments from Nigerians online. Reading these comments and examining our collective mentality, it becomes clearer and clearer that Nigerians are just complex humans who seem to rather prefer the status-quo of squalor and wailing than finding a solution. You cannot claim you don't know what 'Revolution Now' is all about, you cannot claim you're unaware that nothing works in Nigeria, that leaders are all rogues, resources squandered, future wasted etc. You say yo were disappointed in my response, were you expecting that I come beg you to be 'angry' with what's going on in Nigeria? If you're happy with the way things have always been, well, it's up to you, I don't need to start preaching or convincing you on anything. Just recently, billions looted in the guise of pandemic, NDDC officials sharing billons to themselves as personal palliative, senators collecting N20m pandemic hardship allowance each, while hunger kills the real people who need the palliatives. All the noise made during those public hearings and probes have since died away and nobody dares to say anything publicly or stand up to these people for the fear of police bullets. But somehow, the few fellows who chose to dare the bullets and speak up, even if you arent interested in whatever movement they come up with, the least you can do is just 'ignore it', not pull them down. |
richmanrichard:My sincere apologies for my poor choice of words. I just get emotional when I see the way things are in the country and how ordinary Nigerians and even youths are the ones condemning, pulling down and crucifying the only few people who dare to speak up or stand up to the useless leaders. You say Sowore became popular only in GEJ's era? well that's just for you who. Back in the days before he even set up saharareporters, Sowore was even a thorn in OBJ's flesh especially during the third term agenda. A lot of people wouldn't have known this cos the internet and social media wasn't rampant then unlike today. REgarding Yaradua's sickness saga, Oh yes! Sowore played a good role, he was the first person who alerted Nigerians that Yaradua was in a comatose state in Saudi Arabia, he was the first to alert Nigerians when Yaradua was sneaked into the country on a stretcher, he was the first to alert Nigerians on the sleaze being perpetrated by the Yaradua kitchen cabinet during the sickness days. It was the back to back tormenting reportage of bodies like SR that unsettled the cabal and forced them to step aside, making the senate then to enact the 'doctrine of necessity' which made GEJ the Ag. President at the time (this was several months before Yaradua's 'official' death). If not for the leakages from SR, the statusquo would have remained for a really long time; i.e. GEJ relegated to one corner while the cabal squandered Nigeria. Like I said before, i have a right to support or criticise any candidate I choose, in the way I choose. I support a person today isn't a reason I shouldn't criticise or dump them the moment they misbehave; that is my prerogative. If you like, keep wailing till year 2099 over the election loss of GEJ in 2015; for the record, GEJ was a useless president, and even with what I know now about the uselessness of PMB, if the world goes back in time, I wouldn't still support GEJ or PDP in that election, I'd rather be neutral! |
richmanrichard:I'm sensible enough to know that I have a right to criticise bad leadership, irrespective of who the person is, without bothering about what some confused fellows think. |
bhella10:You dont trust him but you'd rather trust and vote scoundrels like PMB, GEJ, Atiku, Wike etc because you think Sowore (who has been a fighting activist since 1993) is not to be trusted since he's likely just also a politician like PMB, GEJ, Atiku, Wike etc. You're asking what Revolution Now means, maybe in your own eyes, Nigeria is already Utopia and our leaders are perfectly leading perfectly. Everyday people lament the inability to protest bad leadership because they fear they will be shot. But someone somehow courageously decides to lead this protest but interestingly, it isnt even the government officials that are pulling him down, rather it's ordinary Nigerians. Nigeria truly deserves its kind of leadership. |
richmanrichard:So because I support a candidate to replace an 'ESTABLISHED' useless president, are you saying I have no right to criticise the new government when they start being useless? What sort of reasoning is this? When did you see me supporting pmb in 2019? Meanwhile Was this same Sowore not the same person who fought the Yaradua cabal to standstill to make GEJ president? So he should have been quiet when GEJ started misleading simply because he "helped GEJ to power"? Sowore fought IBB for democracy, fought Abacha (and ran away on exile), returned to the scene and fought OBJ severely, fought Yaradua and his people during the sickness crisis which led to GEJ's emergence, but somehow according to your judgment, Sowore had no right to criticise GEJ, and for what reason exactly? |
comos:This sort of ignorant mentality really sickens me. Sowore has fought every single bad government in Nigeria since 1993 till date, he has protested, has been brutalised and has been jailed several times. From IBB to Abacha to OBJ to Yaradua, to Yaradua cabal to GEJ and he didnt relent for a second before he started blasting PMB. He has never licked the ass of any sitting president and has been consistently consistent in calling out sleaze and criticising bad leadership. But somehow, GEJ supporters are angry with Sowore cos he didnt lick GEJ's ass thereby leading to the emergence of PMB. An outsider hearing this would actually think the so called GEJ wasnt deserving of criticism... Meanwhile the same Sowore you criticise and accuse of supporting APC did not relent for even a micro second before he began attacking APC... The question wise people should have asked is, did Sowore lick PMB's ass for a single day since he became president? Like they say, Nigerians are not worth fighting for. |
richmanrichard:Sowore is one activist who has been absolutely consistent in his fight against every sleazy government, from IBB, to Abacha to OBJ to GEJ and to Buhari. Once a leader shows signs of misbehaviour, Sowore has never held back for anyone. But somehow, a large group of Nigerians who claim to want a change in how things are done in the country chose to stab Sowore in the back because somehow, he didnt lick GEJ's ass (just the same way he hasnt licked the ass of any single sitting president), and not licking GEJ's ass somehow led to the emergence of PMB. The question any wise person should have asked is, did Sowore ever lick PMB's ass for even one day after he became president? With this kind of pervasive mentality, Nigerians truly deserve the kind of imbeciles we have as leaders; Nigerians are truly never worth fighting for. |
Nigeria really has no hope and no redemption! The people you protest and fight for are the very ones who still end up pulling you down and rubbishing your efforts. Just imagine the disgusting comments youths are making against Sowore, saying he's only protesting for his selifish interests. And then these same youths end up queuing to vote the likes of PMb, GEJ and Atiku etc. and then return home wondering why we cant have a revolution in Nigeria. |
solmus:Comprehension seems to be a big deal in our generation. The ICPC report clearly mentioned Federal Govt Colleges, but somehow, everybody seemed to hear this woman's name. Even with this clarification, everyone responfing on this thread seems to be adamant in their ignorance. |
Omo! the man's a rolling ![]() |

ipica:There are about 70 other topics on the frontpage but you just cant rest vos of BBN. Busybodies! |
This same Kenneth Gbagi and his escaped lion story back then; little did we know the man himself was the escaped lion. |
GOOOGLE504:The only hope of the Naira are those fellows building refineries; that's why the govt is showering them with all the cheap forex and other incentives they need... If Nigeria stops importing petroleum products, that will be the only time the Naira can breathe. |
Seems like every one just wants to go on |
Sometimes I wonder how people jump into conclusions on topics they know nothing about. If a rail track is to be laid to some city in Niger, the details of this project hasnt been revealed yet but somehow, we already have 12 pages filled with vicious comments from people analysing the viability of a project they know nothing about? Niger is a landlocked oil producing country, and I imagine their closest seaports should be Cotonou and Lagos. A railway like this could easily divert a chunk of their import traffic through Lagos, yet 12 pages are already filled with comments from self acclaimed 'EXPERTS' who are so sure this project has no economic viability. I would be surprised if the govt of Niger wouldnt even have financial stakes in a project like this. |
baralatie:1. Mambilla is never a waste. There's absolutely no logic in that assertion. 2. Hydro power (sustainable) and thermal gas plants arent the same thing. 3. $650m for a 1320mw power plant at Egbin? Are you sure of this cost? |
No public enterprise works efficiently under the operation of Nigerian government because Nigerian governments are inept at managing anything. |
Poor man oppressing fellow poor man. Sick! |
DexterousOne:Okay good for you... We're saying the same thing now. |
amarachi06:Lol... you think you're being smart but you're actually embarassing yourself here. If I go to your facebook or twitter page TODAY to screenshot a post you made 7 years ago, will your profile pic automatically change to the profile pic your had in the past? |
Comedian2019:The very same individual who publicly justified and applauded the DSS and army in 2013 for detaining El Rufai in Anambra elections, and even proceeded to directly mock El Rufai for raising an alarm, has suddenly just realised in 2020 that such illegal detention is undemocratic cos the tables have now turned. You are the king of kings and lord or lords of idiotic zombies, brainless folks and dullards if you cant discern the message there!! |
Hangulsaram:Oh you want evidence from me? Go and find it then. |
anonimi:Oh wow! you dont want change? Since you prefer the lawlessness and rascality to continue, why then are you bothered about APc obliging you and serving your preferred PDP treatment? Oh I forgot, the rascality doesnt favour you this time so you now want 'change'? Yoo many clowns in this country. |
DexterousOne:No I'm sorry, I dont have amnesia, and I'm not a hopeless hypocritic like most of you PDP supporters who shamelessly cheer evil when it favours your cause but only realise it's evil when the tables are turned, and then start asking "where is the change?" Unlike you and your folk, when I see evil, I call it evil irrespective of who perpetrates it or who it favours. |
anonimi:Ahaaa! Oh you now want change? You remember change only when the sleaze and filth doesnt favour you? How shameless! Cmon will you gerrarrahia! |
Minjim:Let me help you complete it... www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361227_20200919011043_jpegaf59acc8abb652a162dd5075cb657654 www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361228_20200919010452_jpeg848413f7b0b1180de935a3b0b68311df And then check out the U-turn in 2020. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361229_20200919010717_jpeg0d968ce090813dcc810b686a26626edd Nigerians obviously denounce evil only when it doesnt favour them. Meanwhile the unfortunate fellow has been parading himself about as a 'pro-democracy, human rights activist'... but the internet never forgets. |
DexterousOne:The foolishness actually rests solely with PDP officials and their supporters who despite doing worse in 2013 (Anambra) and 2014 (Ekiti), are now suddenly 'democracrats' in 2020. For example, just behold the shamelessness of this unfortunate hungry self acclaimed 'pro-democracy and human rights activist' between 2013 and 2020. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361227_20200919011043_jpegaf59acc8abb652a162dd5075cb657654 www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361228_20200919010452_jpeg848413f7b0b1180de935a3b0b68311df And then check out the U-turn in 2020. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12361229_20200919010717_jpeg0d968ce090813dcc810b686a26626edd Nigerians obviously denounce evil only when it doesnt favour them. |
STARYBOY: jlinkd78: slivertongue: Jostoman:Karma is such a dirty biatch! In 2013, exactly the same treatment was given to El Rufai in Anambra. The DSS under the amiable democrat GEJ claimed they were trying to 'protect' him cos Awka wasnt safe. See the 2013 shameless comments of our so called patriotic PDPians on this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1519601/elrufai-restricted-awka-hotel-room In 2014, exact same treatment was given to Amaechi and other APC officials in Ekiti. The DSS and army under the amiable democrat GEJ once again claimed they were held in detention for their own safety. Meanwhile, can someone please behold the comments of the shameless hungry self acclaimed 'human rights and pro-democracy activist' Deji Adeyanju. Please what changed in this unfortunate fellow's head between 2013 and 2020?.... Human rights activist indeed! Nigeria is obviously a shithole cos we hypocritically protest corruption and scream 'rule of law' ONLY when the sleaze doesn't favour us..
