okeymen: Guys, I was told in Onitsha that the NPC birth certificate is only for those born from 1990 upwards. does any one know of someone born in the 70s that has been re-issued with an NPC birth certificate? Can someone born there be issued a birth certificate in say Lagos?

They are right I think.
What you will need is Letter of notification/Attestation of Birth

remkay2012: First, I would like to appreciate almighty God for His mercy and favour upon my family during our interview on 11th of June. I also appreciate my good friend Gentiger for his personal support and my big friend Temmytanny and all members of this forum. Infact, you guys are doing great.

We arrived U.S embassy around 5:45a.m on that very day. Then my wife was 9month old pregnant. After normal security inspection we moved in into the interview hall where we are the second candidate to be attended to. We submitted our necessary documents such as 1. Original Certificate of my wife as main applicant. 2.Our wedding Certificate, 3. All our international passports 4. 3 copies of our 2x2 passport photographs. 5 NPC attestation(Abeokuta) for me and my wife and NPC birth certificate for our baby. 5 Police report for me and my wife 6. Medical report for the entire family (3 in number).

We are called to window 14 by around 8:30a.m. Our interview was brief and short as stated below:

Me and my wife: Good morning Sir, how was night?
Co: Fine thank you with smile.
Me: I raise my daughter up and asked her to say HI to the Co.
My daughter: Hi
Co: Hi with excitement.
Co: He showed us all our forms that we sent to kcc for confirmation.

Co: I will return all your passport to you and your original document and return immediately you deliver your baby for your visas.
We: No, We want you to issue for 3 of us first and later we will bring our baby for her visa.
Co: He said we should not worried that he will issue for the entire family when we return. (He returned all our documents as he stated).
We: Okay.
Co: He gave a white paper stating that we should return any day from Monday to Thursday 7:00 a.m with the following document 1. International Passport for the entire family, 2. Birth certificate for the new baby, 3. Medical report for the new baby and 4. payment for the baby.

Glory be to God almighty, we had our baby the following week of our interview. After the naming ceremony,we quickly get the necessary documents for the baby including the international passport.

On Monday 8th July we returned back to the embassy. We submitted all required documents for the baby and international passports for the entire family.

You can pay it in dollar but make sure you are familiar with current rate of exchange naira to dollar.
Health, IT and Marketing are among the most stable carriers worldwide.
CCNA and MCP related are good starting point.

@ Kenny3. Which Local Government of Government are you from? You don't need to go to Surulere. Go to you Local Government, ask for NPC office tell them that you need attestation of birth. They will give you format for High Court Affidavit which you can do in Federal High Court or State High Court, Abeokuta.You will take it back to their L.G. office in your Area, they will do necessary adjustment. Mind you, one of your parent will do the affidavit, so you will need some pictures of one of your parent and yours. After the processing, you will take it to Federal Secretariat Abeokuta, beside Federal High Court where your Certificate will be issue inform of letter (attestation).

I also proccessed mine and my wife in Abeokuta at the rate of N2,500 and it was acceptable in the Embassy.

macsosa: I need a little clarification from you regarding my sister who just won the DV 2014 lottery. On the DS 230 part 2 form, I think we made a mistake on the NAME and ADDRESS of PETITIONER. We wrote NOT APPLICABLE. Unfortunately for us we have sent the forms to KCC. This has left her with sleepless nights.

Can you PLEASE advice us on what to do since I trust your judgement.

We are from Ghana by the way

Dont panic.
Just fill another form completely and resend OR write the information that is suppose to be there, quote the serial number and send as an additional information.
They will confirm within a week, and it will be added to ur case file.

kaygee1977: Dear Forum...I was interviewed today...my interview was smooth until the CO kept asking if i am sure that I am single due to previous Non Immigrants Visa Applications I have done in the past as far back as 2004 and 2007 that was denied consecutively...I have been put on further administrative process. I was given a contact sheet to fill...my relative, friend and neighbour must also fill to do a cross check on my marital status as single. I have told the CO that I am single. I have sent the filled form as directed. Please support me in Prayers for God's purpose to be fulfilled in my life. Amen. I believe strongly in the Lord and I will keep standing in my faith for my visa to be granted. The CO said it is just a cross examination that I am not denied... Vikktorr: @Obatide and Kevwe... I just realised why I didn't feel my secondary and primary school on the DS-230 form... It's actually for higher institutions only cos there are spaces for course of study and degree/diploma... We don't get degrees in primary and secondary. So I think I'm fine.

Kindly revisit that ur stand cos, what u have after successful completion of pry. Schl is PSLC
While for sec. Schl, it is SSCE
further, it could be OND, HND, B.SC, B.TECH, B.A, M.A, M.SC, M.PHIL, P.HD etc.
So for every level of education, there is qualification, which I think is what they required from applicant.

Thank u for ur advices n interest in my issue. I av taken to ur advise n sent an email tp KCC asking for confirmation that they receive my package n my eligibility for an interview despite that ama lready current b4 I sent my forms. All I av so far is the auto response to confirm they received my email. They are yet to respond to my inquiry Over 24hrs after receiving my mail. Is that normal? Shouild I send amoda mail or continue to wait. Note I added my CN, names n DOB. I am agitated.

On the 3 occasions that I've mailed them, they reply at 7working days.
Dat a week.

Vikktorr: Hello house, ok I know this is a silly mistake or should I say omission. I filled my DSP-122 form completely with all my edutionally institutions listed accordingly but on the DS-230 form I only put my highest educational institution (B.Sc). Trust me I thought that part was only for the highest qualification. I feel stupid right now. Please what do guys think I should do? Will they ignore it cos It's already reflecting on the DSP-122 form? I sent my forms mid may and they have confirmed receipt.

I will advice you to mail them, that's not a big problem.
U will be required to resend the complete ones.

Yes, I did mine in Abeokuta. Just go the the Federal Secretariat ask for National Population Office. You will need to obtain your affidavit at the Federal High Court beside the Federal Secretariat. My place of work is just opposite the high court and the Federal Secretariat.The cost was just N2500.

mata1ng: I thanked God for His goodness upon me and my family, the tension of over a year finally become real today. Thanks to every members of this great forum indeed it is a tutorial centre and information centre for the immigrant (EXPO). You guys are doing a great job from page 1 to 763 pages no be moi moi. God will reward you all. I have been following this thread from day 1 and it’s my turn to share my experience.
We got to the embassy @ 5.55am for 7am appointment pass through all security checks before gaining access into the hall. We were given a tag and made payment for $990 and waited for our names to be called for documentation at the window 17 and asked us to wait for our tag number to be called for the interview (I thought it was going to be a board room interview but what I saw was like a child’s play) I did not know the interview was already going on because we entered the hall a bit late due to the security check. The guy in window 14 was friendly and straight to business no waste of time he approved 5 families before we were interviewed by the nice elderly man @ window 16 who also approved 3 different families before our turn but thorough. There was a particular couple he interviewed one after the other for like 3 rounds and they were with baby but he later approved their visa, but the oga at the window 15 only interview one applicant for more than 1 hour and he asked the man to produce a particular document before 1p.m. (Please when you are seated try as much as possible to see what is going on because while we were seated we saw the positioning for the thumb print and I explain the process to my wife as this gave us some credit because the CO was just saying beautiful good till we were done). Our number beeped at window 16, we were asked to raise our hand to raise our right hand to take an oath, we did. He showed us the document sent to KCC and asked us to sign and we did. He saw us exchanging our baby who was sleeping to another to enable us complete the finger print and signing so he asked my wife to go and sit down with the baby that he has some questions for me.

Me: 5 years (He wanted to raise and exception and I quickly told him it was a part time programe)

Me: I smiled.
Co: Do you have any other child apart from your son?
Me: No.
Co: What about your wife?
Me: No.
Co: Were you present when your wife gave birth?
Me: Yes.
Co: Where?
Me: Gbagada Lagos.
Co: I mean is it Hospital or traditional
Me: Hospital.
Co: For how long was she in the labour?
Me: We got to the hospital 6.am in the morning and she gave birth 10.pm
Co: Was it CS or normal birth?
Me: Normal birth.
Co: When was she discharged?
Me: The following day. He was amazed.
He brought out 2 paper circle the address and asked me to pick the visa next week and the other paper for visa payment.
Co: Any question.
Me: I said no sir. Before he go change his mind. He returned my original document.

Na so God do am ooo. He still dey do me like a dream.

nubian269: Hello House, i am also a new winner of the DV-2014lottery, but unfortunately i just checked my status last Friday, cos i was out of the country and had no access to the information needed to check. Anyway Though i am working frantically to quickly send the forms to, i hope its not too late at this period. Secondly my passport will expire in June 2015, do i need to renew it before i go for the interview. Thanks

To start with, we are all learning, but with little info I have gathered, 2013 tread inclusive, I will advice as follows:
Its never too late to submit or return ur forms to KCC
2. Ur passport must have at least 6 months validity as at the interview date.
I do believe I've answered u well.

kemseg2005: I am a DV 2013 winner and I have been following this thread since 2012. I must confess that you guys are wonderful and kudos to those who have made this forum a great success. Let me quickly share my interview experience which took place on June 4, 2013 (7 am appointment). We (Myself, wife & three kids) arrived the embassy at 6am in the morning and after the security check we entered the interview hall and made payment before submitting our documents.
At about 8.30am the Co in window 14 & 15 appeared. The Co in window 14 was very tough but I noticed at the end that he gave the E-passport back to those couple.

We were the third to be interview by the nice Elderly man in window 16. After the swearing and fingerprint stuff, the man asked my wife and children to find somewhere to sit becuase I am the principle winner.

CO- Pick the phone cos I want to talk to you privately
ME- Ok
CO- Good morning sir
ME- morning sir
CO- Tell me your highest level of education
ME- I told him
CO- When did you graduate and tell me your course of student
ME- I told him
CO- Did you serve
ME- Yes I did
CO- What did you do
ME- Teaching
CO- Do you have another children outside this three
ME- No
CO- Do you have another wife
ME- No
CO- What do you do for a living
ME- I am a Federal Civil Servant

At this point I was expecting the man to call my wife for questioning because we were prepared for him with loads of photographs and other documents. Surprisingly the man didn't call my wife, he just picked two white form and circled the Lekki visa collection address and congratulated me. I did not recognise Pato and Jasper 400 but I know he reffered to us being the first person to be intervied in window 16.

I wish those having their interview next week a successful interview and those waiting for their 2nd NL not to panic co's all of you will be current in Jesus nane.

Tanx u for response. Anoda issue bordering my mind nw is my wife who is d winner has this issue on her WAEC result. The secondary school she went to was not where she took the WAEC ie her skol took them to anoda skol to take WAEC. Hence the certificate she carries is frm the skol where she took the WAEC. My argument with her was she shd fill d skol where she took the WAEC and be silent on her real sec. Skol but she insist on filling the 2 skol because they could demand for her testimonia. Gurus in d haos wot is take on this?

I think she is right.
When presenting originals on interview day, verbal explanation will be made, and believe that the co will understand in as much she has al least 5 credit passes.
