knighttroy: SHOCKING LIVING OF CUSTOMS OFFICERS
Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have been complaining of the dilapidated barracks they call home. Many officers serving in the headquarters, Garki and other units around karu are not happy with their living conditions which some of the officers said it can be compare to abodes for pigs and rats.
I came to know about this when I visited a friend who lives in one of the NCS barracks in Karu site, Abuja. When he told me about all what they are passing through there, I felt so sorry for him. Looking at the environs it’s not meant for humans beings not to talk of law enforcement officers with their families. With such living condition tell me how officers won’t be involve in corrupt and illegal deals in order to leave squalor. Look at how they are surrounded my sucker ways, dustbin and bushes. How can humans be living here? No wonder they refer to the block as block “RC” {Refugee Camp}.
According reports online many housing units have been built for rank and file officers. Looking around I saw some newly built two story building of about thirty rooms per block. When I asked one of the officers he said I should forget about Customs because the state of nepotism in the service is too much. Eager to know what he meant I pressurized him to tell me and he said the new built blocks were supposed to be theirs because in 2012 the house they were living in was demolished by the directives of the former Comptroller General Abdullahi Inde Dikko that a new block be erected. In other for them to have a temporary place to lay their head, they were given a very small room that cannot enter 23incs foam {mattress} but they have to manage it since they were promised by the authorities that it will be for an interim. At the completion of the houses the officers who were living at the house that was demolished since 2012 applied for accommodation in the said house that was promised to them but their countless letters were futile. They regrouped themselves and wrote another letter through the barracks provost of Karu yet the person who was in charge of allocation and accommodation deliberately refused to allocate the houses to them even after coming to see where those officers were staying that it was not good yet he told them to still pack out of that one in two weeks’ time when the officer asked where are they to pack to, he told them that is not his business maybe they don’t know him that he is Mr. Burukunu {Mr. Pepper}. It’s either pack out or he will throw their things out.
Later on the new houses was all allocated to different officers who are his friends, boys, relatives and boys of the Oga at the top at the detriment of those who were occupying it before. In anger one of the officers intruded into our conversation and say nearly all the people that have houses allocated them did have house before but because of they know the Mr. Burukunu so he gave houses again to them while others didn’t have even one to live in with their families.
On my way going out I saw all these building and some rooms are not yet occupied why not just allocate these empty rooms to those who deserve it? Why is it that all this Oga at the top like to see their fellow human suffer like this? Its really uncalled-for. Let us join hands together and fight all these injustice and nepotism in our country please an injustice to one is an injustice to all.
I beg the new leaders of our country and that of the service headed by Col Ali Hameed to do justice to this issue of accommodation in karu barracks. What are dey waiting for to deal with Mr Pepper? Show him pepper. Only a revolutionary approach can salvage certain situations. |

joseph1832: So a 16 year old girl who is still a minor and a dependent can convert to Islam and she will be accepted.
Perhaps the Sheik who accepted her conversion might be willing to tell us what will happen to her should her parents decide to unleash their wrath on her?
And should she be disowned, who is going to carter for her needs and education ( let it be known that marrying her off isn't acceptable).
I find it hard to believe that this set of people who accepted this girl did so without considering the fact that she's very much a minor and such decision is just too heavy for her to make on her own.
I look forward to the rest of this story because I know feeling and emotions will fly when the parents become involved because she's still their daughter and any attempt to take her away from them is kidnapping. Hehe....... Child-bride loading. Free meat don land. Sorry for the girl sha. |

Message to all students na to dey learn a trade simultaneously. But many university undergraduates in Nigeria are too narrow-minded that they can't look at life beyond their certificates. End result? They leave school with little or zero preparation for the real world and thus most become misfits. Truth is, in Nigeria, anything other than mbbs, pharmacy, nursing or law, then I'd say u should make sure it's a first class(so you can put food on ur table, not necessarily to earn megabucks). Anything less than that, learn a trade simultaneously. Life no be joke. Be double prepared. |
Politics › Re: What We Usually Find In Boko Haram Camps- Nigerian Army by Obiwiz(m): 11:59am On Sep 09, 2015 |
Dbrainiac1: The Nigerian Army said Tuesday it usually find condoms, hard drugs and sex-enhancing drugs in camps captured from Boko Haram insurgents by its troops. The spokesperson for the Army, Sani Usman, said the findings underlined the military’s belief that most Boko Haram militants were not grounded in Islam and were not driven by Islamic ideology. Mr. Usman, a colonel, said a lot of insurgents so far arrested could not even recite the Quoran, the holy book of Muslims. He said those arrested by troops of Nigerian Army’s 3rd Division Tuesday turned out to be suppliers of hard drugs and other stimulants to terrorists. They were nabbed between Depchi and Geidam, Geidam Local Government Area in northern part of Yobe State, he said. Mr. Usman added, “The arrested persons were also engaged in the supply of fuel in addition to hard drugs such as Cannabis (Indian Hemp), Chlorofone substance (AKA Madaran suck and die) and Tramol, amongst others. “You will recall that sometimes ago we reported that ironically most of the Boko Haram terrorists captured by Nigerian military cannot read the Holy Qur’an, some of them cannot even recite the first chapter- Suratuh Al-Fatiha and yet they claimed they wanted to establish an ‘Islamic State’. “When the Nigerian military captured their bases and training camps, they never found Qur’an or other Islamic books, what were mostly found were ammunition, local charms, condoms and all sort of drugs including sex enhancing ones in their enclaves. “The arrest of these drug suppliers has reinforced that fact, more so as they have been making very useful statements.”

Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Smokes Too Much by Obiwiz(m): 9:29am On Sep 07, 2015 |
jumanche: I met my boyfriend online. We were in a long distance relationship for a 2 months before I moved back to his town. Before we met, he told me he smoked cigarettes but socially. I was ok with that. I thought that If he needed a cigar to calm his nerves , its alright. I do not smoke.
After we met, It turns out that he's a chain smoker. He takes at least 3 packs of cigarettes a day. After a month of dating him, I just couldn't take it anymore. After we visit each other, I reek of cigarettes. My clothes, my purses, my hair, the bed-sheet. Everything stinks. Sometimes I have to re-do my laundry. He smokes inside the house and car so the smoke is directly on me .
I talked to him about this. I told him that the smoke stinks everywhere up so bad and that I have to wash my clothes after I visit him. He got really mad and we didnt talk for days.
I love my boyfriend but I cannot take the smoking. Its also starting to affect him medically , his teeth is rotten and he coughs chronically. I tell him to stop at least for his health and he starts to give examples of non-smokers who died early or smokers who live long.
I am at my wits end because everything and everywhere stink and cigarette butts are everywhere.
How do I tell him to stop?? Or do you think its time to end the relationship. LOL. You're still here asking for advice. You wanna settle down with someone who's liable to die young(considering he's not just a smoker but a chimney)? And again, being around such person exposes u to secondary smoke, thus making u a passive smoker. And so you too will be in for those health palavers. |

angelchinny: Am a well dedicated nairalander but I created this new account for this issue. I have been married for 4 years now with 3 children and since the 2nd year of our marriage my husband has been constantly cheating on me.
The way he goes about it is even heartbreaking, he does it like his into a love relationship with them and not just for fun.
There is this particular girl that he calls like 3 times everyday because I check his call log and saw they keep in touch more than twice everyday. I stupidly called the girl and warned her to stay clear off my man and she confessed he didn't tell her he was married, I confronted my hubby and he was forming defensive and was telling me dat am accusing him wrongly and he will soon start cheating. I called the girl back in the evening and she told me that even as am calling that his call is entering her phone, that he called earlier to beg her to give him chance to explain..The next day I left with my children to a far away state and he pleaded that he will change and all that. The issue is that he continued with this shameless behaviour, our live-in nanny later confessed to my cousin last month that he approached her and I was so devastated. He knelt down and begged and I easily forgave him..
Forgive me for my long episode but I really need your help on how to punish him cos I went to his call log yesterday and saw the same girl that made me take the risk to leave with my children to another state calling him again and he is reciprocating the calls..his a very jealous person, he goes crazy when a male friend calls me..I want to make him pass through all the pains I have endured all these years.. What do I do pls? Sorry, is he okay at all? Sometimes, we need to screen people thoroughly before allowing them into our lives. Peace |
