Romance › UPDATE On UBA Debit Issues by Offpoint1(op): 2:19pm On Nov 10, 2021
Good afternoon, this an update to my earlier thread https://www.nairaland.com/6843257/uba-user-please-alert

My money has been refunded in full.

I don't have the luxury of time, so going to the banking hall for complaints wasn't feasible. I chatted them up on facebook, we dragged and dragged until my money was refunded this afternoon.

The excuse they gave me was that I made a transaction on POS on the 2nd of this month and I wasn't debited.
I had to drag with them...
Firstly I have never made any POS transaction in Ikeja, nor I've ever made any transaction of the debited amount on any POS and there's no possible way POS agent will release money to me without my account being debited.
I requested for the POS agent details and bank the debited amount went to.

I was waiting for reply for hours, I had to login into my Ibanking account to run a check on my transactions statement. On logging-in I saw my account balance with exact amount that was debited this morning, instantly I checked my balance using USSD code and it was same....

So guys, that was my experience...

Whatever security challenges they are having they should fix it as soon as possible. I'm not here to tarnish UBA reputation, but create awareness. In terms of security, I can boldly say UBA is leading.......................But for now, still take caution until the resolve their issues.

justified007:
Good morning , I woke up this morning to another debit on my UBA bank account whereas my atm and everything is here with me. It's been the third or fourth debit I will be receiving in about a week and it happened always around 11pm -1am when I must have been sleeping.

I am seriously suspecting an old staff turned Yahoo boy but I don't have evidence and the narration always shows ikeja POS or something like that.

Please how do I get to know this culprit?
Same happen to me this morning 3am, not only but to many people. Go their social media pages and see hundreds of similar complains...UBA is under attack and they are keeping quiet about it.
I've created a thread about this too

Nonsense news, nothing is happening in UBA, Nigerian bank under attack cheesy. Maybe you did a transaction and didn't get a debit alert on the spot due to network challenges and eventually you got the long delayed debit alert. Check your account oga and verify your info before posting.
Yeah, I got long delay for transaction I never initiated and so is with all the customers crying on their social media pages for the past few days

Is it not the same uba am usinghuh nothing of such happen to me
It's not going to happen to everyone, I said the same thing 3 days a go when a friend called and inform... it happens to me today.
I will not happen to everyone, that's a fact... but you need to take caution.
Romance › Re: UBA User Please Be At Alert by Offpoint1(op):
Joysticks:
The attacks might be customers who use their ATM cards to make purchases online by inputting their card details. You see fluterwave, the platform is a big scammer. If you use the platform to make payment, it won't send you alert immediately. After a week that you have forgotten,it will start sending you multiple debit alerts with illegal deductions from your bank account.Avoid fluterwave if you don't want to cry premium tears.
I'm an IT guy, I wouldn't create this thread if I've not done my findings properly, knowing well it involves a reputation of an organisation.
I know very well most online transaction takes awhile to get debit alert down to your phone, I'm not new to the NET. If you carryout any online transaction your account will be debited instantly, you might not receive a debit alert, but I'll reflect on your account. Whenever you receive that debit alert sms/email, It doesn't in anyway affect your current balance as of the time you received it.

There has been some security bridge, which they won't inform the public... they are very well aware of this.

Romance › UBA User Please Be At Alert by Offpoint1(op):
WARNING: All UBA users take caution and transfer all you money out, it seems the bank is under attack which they won't inform the Public. There has been series of complaints from customers about their account being debited. I was warned by a friend 3 days ago I thought it was a joke until I woke up this morning and met debit alert of transactions I didn't carry out. All happen around 3am, I receive N5000 debit alert 3 times, I had to quickly transfer all my funds out.
Please this has nothing to with you exposing your card details online, take caution. Most transactions are carry out in Lagos, no matter where you are.

You can check their facebook page to see the numbers of victims complaining...

Please don't ignore, I have 3 friends and 2 colleagues who are victims too.

Below are few screenshots from their facebook page...

I know Nairaland mods may not want to push this to frontpage for legal reasons, but please inform you friends and families

Why should we tame our animal instincts?? We should only tame it to the extent that it doesn't lead to sin. I like the fact that you used the words "animal instinct".... because if you analyze male and female human behavior, you would see that we are really in the animal kingdom....

And what if not taming the animal instincts is what will lead to finding a partner?
It's very necessary for us to tame it, firstly for our safety health wise and to that of our partners.
Family › Re: Since You Know Your Partner Is Not Satisfying You, Why Accept To Marry & Cheat by Offpoint1: 12:52pm On Nov 08, 2021
No matter how satisfying your partner is, you'll get tired of them at a point and want to explore.
This happens to EVERYONE, some have the ability to control themselves and while others don't have.

Cheating has nothing to do with sexual satisfaction, it has everything to do with our animal instincts.

Even as a single a guy, the urge to have sex with all women that meets my sexual fantasy or physical sexual attraction is always high and the temptation strong... but I had to weigh the consequence to the pleasure ration and realized it doesn't worth it.... not everyone have that ability to tame their animal instincts.

RisenJoe:
Let me put it this way,

A young man had a qurrel with his old man and out of anoyance he beats his Dad and now the Father laid a curse on him that his kids will beat him(the young man) the same way he dealt with his Dad.

Now the young man grew old and one day he had an issue with his son and his son beat him up the same way he did his own Dad due to the curse laid on him by his Dad. And he in turn might have forgotten about the curse his father laid on him, now my question is what happens if he in turn lays a curse on his own son?

Will the curse come to pass knowing very well that his own son dealt with him the same way he dealt with his own Dad?

Pls I need contributions and opinions on this.
More of "Generational anger issues" and not a curse.

Either he curse his son or not, the anger traits will pop up in his sons/daughters kids if they take after their fathers traits

Say what you know, no boat in Lagos will move if a single passenger is not on jacket. The owner will not even let you in his boat if you don't want to wear life jackets because of fine.

People who earn 6 figures couldn't buy gas.

I was shocked to see myself buying 2kg gas in my large cylinder. Something I usually buy without cutting a sweat.

It will never be well with whoever hoist Insensitive leaders on the masses. If I can feel the pain, I wonder wat common people pass tru.

Mind u, I earn over 200k, but I cant afford gas . Its a shame. One wil struggle to buy food and cant cook it.

Ur salary is paid as if they are doing you a favor. Such untold wickedness. Man inhumanity to fellow man.

And u wil see these so call leaders lavishing Money carelessly. If God/Allah is there, these people will suffer for the pain they cause ordinary citizens.

Except they changed immediately. Most likely, the president is not even aware because they are not feeding the right information
My brother, Nigeria currency has become totally useless... I checked my weekly debit account statement and I can't account for anything reasonable I bought... It's very sickening.

Just yesterday I went to the market with 15k and I came back with empty bag cuz what I bought is like air

Nigerian banks are just too useless. People have been complaining about thieves using their stolen SIM card to purchase airtime but till now they've refused to do anything about it.
What was banks suppose to do? Stop you from making transaction with your sim?
How was bank supposed to know the transaction is being carried out by criminals?

The banks and internet has done what is expected, which is for you customers to put a pin on your sim card and avoid saving any of your banks details on your phones. Pass-wording your sim is as important as pass-wording your phone.

Banks are not magicians to know transactions coming from a criminal and the genuine owner....
