Those "gospel pimps" and their supporters are only defending the "family business" when Christians challenge their doctrines for being fake like the suits they wear.
Freewill giving is alright but using the Bible to rip people off is WRONG and should be condemned by all except those who benefit from it but we will pray for them to see the light and abstain from it going forward. If you want to steal from me, have the dignity to grab a gun (which I may or may not have depending on the circumstance) but not the Bible that is available for every one to study and meditate on.
I bet majority of those who pay tithe are just conforming or scared into paying it and not really paying from the heart, we need to educate them of this wrongful practice, it is our DUTY.

Most of the so called churches stopped representing Christ a long time ago, Bobby needs to disclose his own "faith" and see if some of us can't punch holes in their doctrines and dogmas.

One has to apply the Bible with a huge dose of common sense or else we all become "zombified" like some folks on here, indoctrination is a huge problem these days and I am not sure if economics have anything to do with it.

If you keep one of the laws, you need to keep the rest too but for most "real Christians", Jesus Christ is sufficient for us.

On this first look, this looks like a pre K level thread at best but then again, there is some "sense" in nonsense.

One has to thread carefully when it comes to God and never forget to ask for his wisdom in our various walks. Concentrating solely on the Catholic Church ( which by the way did more to educate and provide medical care than these new pentecostal pimps) is PLAIN WRONG. If you do your homework properly, you will see the other "churches" practice one form or another of what you're accusing them of. "The eye is the light of the body, ", "he who have ears, let him hear"

As for me, I have a heavenly father and a temporal(biological) father and I am not required to bow to either one, our father in heaven only require us to keep our souls (heart) clean for him and not sell it for earthly gains. "Choose you this day whom you will server, " don't be fooled, all these "designs" have meanings to those in the know.

Just to add my 2 cents, the sabbath day like the tithe law is not relevant today because we are covered by the Grace of God.
God should be worshiped multiple times daily just like everyday should be our Christmas, if you want to follow the law, you need to follow the rest as well not just a couple. It is an all or nothing deal, you will also need to worship in a "Temple" to follow the law.

Yes we have to support the "clergy" where they exist but it doesn't have to be a % of one's income, indoctrination is not always the best thing that happens to folks sometimes because it beclouds their sense of judgment most times and any questions are viewed as an "attack" by the "enemy".
If "tithe" was that important to Jesus Christ, he would not have indicated that there were "weightier matters of the law" like love for one another, compassion, helping the poor and widows, etc.
"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there" means I can decide tomorrow to worship in a house fellowship if that serves my spiritual quest and doesn't leave me stagnant.
