engineerd:All other categories are subjects of great research (good and quality education). Anybody can get the peace prize, so is literature but not anybody can do a life-changing research in Physiology or Chemistry. Why not ask: why are there few African universities among the first 100 unis in the world? The University of Chicago produced 22 out of the 49 prize winners in Economics as at 2005 (either as research fellows, faculty members or students). If we are not investing on education, we should not be expecting too much from it. EDUCATION IS THE ONLY KEY Oyinbo people dominate because they spend more money, time, and sweat on the search for verifiable knowledge/ fundamental truth. If a Nigerian gets a cure for cancer, they will get a prize. |
llbhuds:I wonder ooooo |
Richvkunt:And when does having a coaching certificate equates to being a good coach? Let the "certificate-less" Siasia coach Barca and let's see the result. |
bomega4u:No need for cheap excuses. Did the Guineans played under another atmosphere? |
Did I hear him well? Osaze should have come to NL to see so many good prophecies about the match. Maybe they could have won? |
The greatest error in Nigerian history was making the central bank totally independent. Something has to be done to restore sanity.Wrong. The greatest error is to have the CBN governor reporting to the minister of finance (who is most likely a politician). |
There should be nothing like "ACN Governors" if not for the ineptitude of the PDP Guys in the past. |
weizman:No need to spam the thread bro, u may get banned for that. Where is the house located cos it sounds cheap for dat price? Did u remember me? Bolton, Suraj, and Dayo. |
The irony is that the quality of roads in Ghana and Sierra Leone is better than Nigeria. |
This is too extreme to me. A newspaper advertorial? Maybe the father is getting heat from somewhere. Disown your daughter (with evidence) or , |
Since everyone is posing as a crime detective in this matter, let me propose my own analysis of the first minute I watched from the video. I don't hear nor speak Igbo so my analysis is deduced from the few english spoken, tone of the speaker, and movements in the video. The girl was most likely not tortured before the action but the video clearly showed that she was under duress (five guys and a girl in a room is no joke). She pleaded for mercy so many times and was denied meaning she was violated according to the civilized worlds' standard. Parts of her plea were "Bros please now" and later "You people should kill me" (instead of this nasty experience) not "kill me, kill me" (connoting s3xual fantasy/enjoyment) as some people want us to believe. The light in the video is natural light putting the timing of the video around noon. One of the gang promised to drop the girl with his car which can be seen out of the window and another repeatedly said "Do am chap chap make we comot here" meaning they are in hurry to leave. That puts the location of the assault neither at the girls house nor any of those guys' appartments, the school dormitory is also out of the equation. The location is somehow isolated (most likely a fenced bungalow) as the gang are speaking on top of their voice with no fear of any close neighbours. How she got to the location (abduction or visit) is a question to be answered by her. The video was taken with a phone by the guy who has the car. The girl hardly knew more than one of the gang (the car owner) as all others are addressed as Bros. [s]The first action saw the guy lying down on his back and the girl climbing on him, swinging back and forth, explaining the trembling in her voice[/s], This is pure premeditated VIOLATION. God save Nigerian women. Naija Police are just as incompetent as they are known to be. |
Most Nollywood soundtracks from Tope Alabi. |

Business as usual. People should save their breath cos the 8th National Assembly will still buy their own. |
chidonzone: all4naija:Though not here to hold brief for the Nobel Committee, the Committee distributes nomination forms to some selected individuals who in turn nominate candidates for the prize in the six categories. Someone just nominated someone and gbam, you get the prize. Tawakkul Karman even said she did not knew she was nominated for the prize until they announce her as a co-winner. If Chinua Achebe has not made the prize, the problem is not with the organizers. Like Grassroot said, some people got the award for what they have done so many years ago and who can tell if Chinua Achebe will clinch the prize few years to come. If we are all given forms to nominate people for CFR, some people will start to wonder how come we didn't nominate Mr ABC who has served Nigeria meritoriously. Congratulations to the trio. |
@bbb Thanks for posting that. I'm surprised when he said "I'm also a scholar on my own part." Maybe he was referring to being intelligent though. In a layman's (UNILORIN) term, a new scholar is a student who led his/her department with at least 4.0 CGPA at the end of an academic session. A returning scholar is a student who has been a scholar before who still maintain a minimum of 3.5 CGPA at the end of an academic session. The school scholarship programme was constituted so that students will stop soughting after vain glory offered by cultism and other social vices. UNILORIN had 149 scholars for the 2010/2011 academic session. |
I'm expecting "GEJ suspends security chiefs over non-performance." |
iv4fb:Till when? For how long? |
How much is the authorised and paid-up capital of SBN? How are you going to respond to non-performing loans? |
@Maleeq Good one. People should start comparing equals. |
Finally allowing the free market to prevail between a willing buyer and a willing seller. |
bammy2050:I dont understand what the bolded means. If you are a scholar then you are entitled to a free bedspace in the hostel. You shouldn't be looking for hostel again. Scholars who reside off-campus before they became scholars hardly use their bedspace. Reason: Off-campus - On-campus mobility in accommodation is very low because of the fixed cost (mattress, stove, etc) invested in the off-campus accommodation. |
Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo lied when he denied writing a letter to President Goodluck Jonathan on the performance of some agencies and the changes he wanted him to effect. According to the lead story of The Nation newspaper of yesterday, Obasanjo, in the letter, advised Jonathan to sack five heads of Federal Government agencies. The men are of Northern origin. The leadership of the North expressed disappointment at the letter and recommendation of the former president alleging marginalization and victimisaiton. The protest of the North perhaps motivated Obasanjo’s denial of the letter. Speaking with airport correspondents in Lagos yesterday, Obasanjo denied writing the offensive letter. He threatened to institute legal action against The Nation newspaper. However, the newspaper reacted to the threat this morning by publishing the photocopy of the controversial letter on its front page. In the letter, Obasanjo wrote inter alia: “I have observed with deep concern the continued public outcry over the grossly poor performances of some Federal Government interventionist agencies.” The former president, according to the letter, recommended the following persons to head the agencies: Dr. Torpedo Amananaghan from Bayelsa state to head the Petroleum Equalisation Fund, PEF; Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed, Jigawa state — Education Trust Fund, ETF, Mr. Ibangha Nen, Cross River state — Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, Mrs. Jumai Mohammed Agwai, Niger state — Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC and Senator Ebenezer Ikeyina, Anambra state — Industrial Training Fund, ITF. The editors of The Nationa have insisted that they stand by their story. http://saharareporters.com/news-page/obj-lied-controversial-letter-jonathan-exposed-pm-news-lagos

For all those who say The Nation is lying, below is a copy of the letter copied from Sahara Reporters (originally from PM News).

The move is good but expect people to make more coded calls. A: How are the flowers? B: Fresh. A: Will you come home for lunch? B: No. I will see you at 3 O'clock. |
When charged with generators, the battery runs down very quickly. Same applies to laptops. My HP battery of 100% will give me over 4 hours if charged with PHCN but close to 3 hours if charged with generator. Anyone can try this. |
s.hypo:Bolded will be a great mistake as hostel slot cannot be wasted cos there are hundereds looking for it. Transferring hostel is illegal in the official quarters. Guys who transfer it do it through the private security outfit managing the hostel and not student affairs. CONDITIONS: To be considered for hostel allocation, you must agree to the following: |
Ess:I dont see how Dutch Disease answer his question: Hw can u explain an economy that enjoys oil boom but gets poorer? Ever heard of Paradox of Plenty? Go google it please |
^^^You are very funny. I dont need a hostel. I never said hostel is still available, I said freshers acquire it manually and I dont know whether it has been exhausted through that medium. It may even be too early to say "fresher hostel has been close". Few among freshers who got admitted on the second and subsequent lists do get hostel without any long legs cos some will be reserved for them. |
