Despite all the economic woes and business/industrial downsizing, Nigerians are still blindly searching for jobs as a result of a burning fear in their minds that whisper failure to them when ever they think of being creative and do something personal. it is on this note i decide to write this to help wash away the fear that is buried deep within our minds.

Everyone experiences fear in their lives, even the most successful entrepreneurs out there. The people who became entrepreneurs have had to face and overcome their fears before they became entrepreneurs. But most people can't overcome this fear, so they carry on living ordinary lives working for the boss. even Dangote and otedola suffers such fear a lot.

Fear can take many forms such as being afraid to change, being afraid of the outcome of failure, being afraid of what others think you are doing etc. Fear also disguises itself as excuses, for instance 'I'm not ready to start my own business because I don't have time'. Underneath this excuse is fear.

I am here to share with you 3 Key Concepts that will gradually diminish the fear of becoming an entrepreneur.

THE VISION CONCEPT

Having a Vision of how you want to live your life as an entrepreneur is a powerful concept. Creating a vision first starts with realizing what you really want your life to be like in the future. You will start to focus on the thing that is driving you, and this will be a big part of your Courage and Motivation to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

Creating a vision will not only drive you to achieve what you want, but your fear of achieving it will start to naturally fade away because there is no stopping if you have a powerful vision backing you up.

THE BELIEF CONCEPT

Having a strong Belief goes hand in hand with your vision. You can have a great vision, but if you don't Really believe in it, you can't be an entrepreneur.

To really believe in something means that you will continue to pursue your belief no matter what struggles you will face to get there, and even more importantly no matter who tells you that it can't be done or it's not possible.

A strong belief will not get rid of your fear completely, but it will allow you to face it, and overtime your fear of becoming an entrepreneur will start to fade away.

THE ACTION CONCEPT

The last piece of the puzzle is taking Action.

If you haven't developed a vision and belief system, then at some point in time you will give up because your mind-set is not in the right place. When your mind-set is built up and ready to go, then it's time to apply yourself as an entrepreneur.

Once you start taking consistent action in your life and business, overtime you will start to see results, your motivation will improve and most importantly your fear will get to a point where it seems like it doesn't even exist anymore.

Remember the 3 Key Concepts

1. Create a Vision of what you want
2. Have the Belief that you can achieve it
3. Take Action to get there

Firstly there is something you need to understand with every fibre of your psyche.
Men and women are very different. They are not the same. Throw out everything else you've heard that tries to counter this fact.

With women, everything is connected and they can't fathom one thing without the other.

Here are some factors that determine which female entry gets filed into the /Romance/Wife box.

- Easy enough on the eyes
Undoubtedly this starts it. The initial attention. The "all-eyes-on-me-as-I-walk-in" effect.
But the folly of many women is that they think this is also where it ends.
I say "easy enough on the eyes" because past a certain point of this, this no longer really affects the marriage rank (at least not as much as it affects the girlfriend rank). This is why you sometimes see some famous, handsome guys marry okay-looking women. It's because their beauty fulfilled the marriage quota, and the babe then focused the rest of her energy on other quotas, not just stagnating on and endlessly focusing on this like most females do.

- Respectful!!!!!
Are you the type to always yell at your man? Always look for something to fight/misunderstand about so you can feel that there is some drama in your life? Do you fill up a plate and serve your man? Or do you just go serve yourself and ignore him?
When you are together in private, what percentage of the food you both eat is home-made by you?

Your mothers (Employed, Educated women) did this for your fathers and you think, somehow, you are exempt from doing this for your man?

These are the little thing that make him proud to have you in his life. Some of these things should be common sense but these days, sense is something that isn't so common anymore. Okay you might be a "modern woman" (wuteva the hell that means, as if this should be synonymous with "cold uncaring woman" ), but is that not the same man you want to come and pay brideprice on your head? Where's the modernity in that? Pick a lane and stay on it.

In my dance within this game, one is often flabbergasted at the quantity of women who spout dumb sh!t like "I don't cook for my boyfriend". This ofcourse comes from the things they hear, even from churches, which the female in question then takes out of context... a trait the average female mind (that lacks the skill of listening to men) does very quickly and strongly with an inability to processing further clarification even when given/offered.

Yes don't be his housegirl, but that doesn't mean you should NEVER nurture him....nobody should even have to clarify this to you unless you are just a naturally lazy or domestically inept female... None of which make you marriage box material either.
You can stay as long as you want in that girlfriend box though...

To add to this point: I understand women enough to know that a lot of you, perhaps after a breakup feel pained that you nurtured him. Especially when done in a public way. But only women think like this.
Let me tell you what we think of a fine chick who shows publicly that she knows how to take care of a man (i.e. serving his plate in public, cooking good food, respectful, etc), We be thinking "Please Lord let this dude screw this up so I can GET her". It's sad but these girls are becoming rare and rare. You'll be doing yourself no marketing favors by hiding your nurturing abilities not just from your man but from others.

- Independent Co-dependency
These days, sorry ladies, you need to be about your paper too. go to school, learn something and apply yourself to it.
With the rate of inflation of things, dual income homes are the norm now. Women who don't seem to care about anything besides staying home and devouring money are not the prime cream of the crop...Unless maybe it's one Alhaji old enough to be your father you intend on marrying.
We guys are just not into overly-dependent women. You don't have to be making a lot of money, but be doing something that enables you some level of independence.

However there's a pretty clear distinction between Independence and foolish pride, and that distinction is called Co-dependence. It's a state of being able to handle your business, but never allowing yourself to feel like you are above the need for the influence or guidance of masculine wisdom in your life. This is a balance too many women today struggle to achieve.

Men are better at admitting the need for this balance and accepting it in their life than women. I don't think you'll ever hear a man say "I don't need a woman" unless he were gay.
Females don't handle pride-giving life features very well i.e. having a job should not afford you the right to suddenly start addressing men disrespectfully. Treat a man like a fly and he will leave. If you're also excessively parasitic, you're not good for any box in that room.

- Same Faith
The religious mind in me would want to put this at the top of this list, but I refrained from doing so.
Though this is very important (and could easily block wifey box entry), I did not put this last by accident.

So I presented my to be partners details, including his bank details  where the banking instrument called  Letter of Credit (L.C) will be received. Unfortunately, my to be partner had serious crises few weeks after I submit his details to my client, so I got scared but fortunately for me, my client is trying to avoid L.C charges and every effort my client made to raise the L.C (Letter of Credit) proof abortive, then he suggested if he could pay me some advance then after completing the job, he will pay my balance, I immediately jump at it, then i had to start the process of registering a business name, then use my teacher export licence to export it.  And that was the beginning of my export carrier since 2011. Till today i still have copy of the telex for the transfer to my personal domiciliary account that was opened to trade forex but ended up as the saving grace for the export business. When life shows Nigerians pepper, we make goat meat pepper soup.
Just recently, the National Youth Service Corps passed out thousands of young men and women into the real world; the labour favour market. So before you begin this new phase of your life, here are some tips that would help you conquer the world regardless of whatever pepper Nigeria shows you.

1. Have a wardrobe of well-ironed shirts and corporate outfits: You need to have at least five neatly ironed shirts. I say five because that would take you through five working days. You shouldn’t wait till you are called for an interview on a very short notice before you start thinking of how to wash and iron your outfit because NEPA can decide to show you pepper at any time. Remember, your appearance speaks volume at an interview. And please, you’re no more in school so stop that rubbish of heating up your pressing iron on a camp gas. Always plan your outfits ahead and be ready at the drop of a hat.

2. Buy a power bank: Still on the light issue, power banks have become part of a typical Nigerian’s accessory. I have two power banks and I’m looking at getting a third one but a solar powered one this time around. As a job seeker, you need your mobile gadgets connected to the internet at all times so you can surf the net, apply for jobs, reply emails, read ebooks and so many other things that would most likely drain your battery. We live in the digital age and opportunities disappear as fast as they come. Do you know how many people have missed out on great opportunities all because they were offline when someone posted a vacancy with very limited slots? We live on the fast lane and it’s fastest fingers first.

3. Protect yourself from the sun: all my life in Lagos, I have never experienced this kind of heat going on now. I cannot begin to imagine how hot places like Abuja and other northern states will be like. Except you are fortunate enough to have a car, you will do a lot of trekking under the scotching sun while attending interviews or dropping your CV at various firms. I once trekked from Obalende to Civic Centre for an interview and I think it might be one of the root causes of my recurrent migraine. The sun is merciless but the hustle must continue. For the guys, you can reduce the effect of the sun on you by wearing short-sleeved shirts instead of long-sleeves. Knot your tie and keep it in your bag; wear it when you are close to the interview venue. If you choose to wear a long-sleeved shirt, please don’t wear your jacket while hopping buses, you can simply sling this across your shoulder and put it on when you get to your destination. For the ladies, wear more of smart looking chiffon shirts instead of corporate shirts. They are lighter and you won’t sweat as much. Corporate gowns would do just fine too. Also, invest in sunscreen to protect your skin from sun burns. There are lots of them in cosmetic stores. Then drink a lot of water to stay hydrated, whether you are a guy or a girl.

4. Use the BRT: This one is especially for Lagos residents. There are two BRT options in Lagos, there are the red mostly rickety looking ones and there are the blue fully air-conditioned ones. They are more affordable and comfortable than the nightmares called Danfo. Those guys are very notorious for hiking their bus fares at the slightest opportunity and with the current fuel scarcity and general inflation in the economy, they charge twice to thrice as much as their former rates. The BRTs on the other hand operate at a fixed rate and before they increase their fares (which they rarely do) seculars would have gone round and prior notice given to commuters. They also have a bus card which is cheaper to use in the long run. If you are in a hurry, ditch this option.

May all our hearts’ desires be fulfilled and I hope we all find our dream jobs.
