Zignor,

you chose a complex comparison. Well, is she RAIN WATER, LAKE WATER, OR OCEAN WATER? Whatever you choose, know that water is worse than birds. Am sure she would be unsettled by your comparison. We still remember what havoc Tsunami wrecked some years back. Ever heard of storm, cyclome Tornado etc? Which of them did you have in mind?

Water heals yet it causes destruction. Today it is frozen. Tomorrow it is flowing. And then before you settle down, it evaporate before your eyes!

Water isn't a good complement for your "baby" unless you forgot the existence of Tsunami.

Please give us another comparison before Easybaby start boiling with rage!

Sorry ma!

You gals are overblowing it. What is bad about birds? We have good and bad birds. Making comparisom does not mean that is the way it were. We must be frank in dealing with issues.

There are birds and there are birds! The question is which specie are thou? Eagle? Owl? Vulture? Dove? Parrot? It isn,t meant to insult women folks but to ilustrate a point. After all, Jesus speaks in parable.
RomanceRe: Women Are Like Birds by olanajim(m): 11:09am On Nov 21, 2007
@poster,
you are right! They are "like" birds.

Some can soar like eagle; some are parrots thinking with their mouth and can't be trusted. You know gossips is women second name? Some alike ostrish, big and powerful and can't fly. Don't dare them. Some are like Hen; domesticated and used as baby factory. Some are like cock. Some are vultures hovering round your head to devour your carcass. Some are like Dove, they epitomize peace and purity. Some are. . . You can virtually get as many comparison as you care to get.

Women are indeed like birds. Leave them without winning their love and they go forever. Show them love, and they would fly to eldorado and still return to you. That is if you are worth their devotion. You can cage them if they are wild and refuse to be domesticated. But, you must realize that they are LIKE BIRDS. They are NOT BIRDS.

Ikamefa,
what about those who reach 76, 86? Please complete your hypothesis.

Busta,
that is a wrong comparison. Beside, remote controk actually manipulate the TV, it wasn't meant to be manipulated.

Mamaput,
I will buy that comparison if you can explain why men are like trees. Indeed they can be liken to trees after all birds perch on trees and build their nests there. But I won't do the job for you.
LiteratureRe: Which Books/Novels Are You Currently Reading? by olanajim(m): 4:02pm On Nov 20, 2007
I'd stop reading novels years ago. I don't get carried away by fantasies any more.

Right now, I am reading "As a man thinketh" by James Allen. I read it over and over again to clean my mind of daily gabbages being thrown about by frustrated people and to rejuvenate it with vital energy needed to sustain my peace and retain calmness of mind even at the most turbulence period.

You have enough experience to get a job or to start your own firm here. I do not know of any at moment but at times some firm send job vaccancy to our branch for interested applicant. Experience is the major factor in most of those vacancies. I will suggest you remain where you are if you are working and watch out for opening before you quit.

Kindly email me if you don't mind. I would link you to another person and then get your email address added to the group. That way, you would be able to recieve mails and cheak out your area of interest.

You may also add me on your YM list. We'll chat later.
CareerRe: Unemployment in Nigeria by olanajim(m): 2:01pm On Nov 20, 2007
Maplesout, I'd like to have a chat with you on YM. Let share ideas. It is important. My mail is on my profile.

@topic, I had just witnessed a scene now. A young boy trying to sell #5 pure water was hit by an okada. The boy wanted to sell to an elderly woman who had been shouting "pure water" from the bus. It was while trying to exchange water for money that the accident happent. A vehicle behid us ran over the bag of water the boy was selling though he was not hit, he escaped by God grace. Ironically, the okada that caused the accident did not even stop in spite of the noise and cry.

What has this got to do with topic? While we are passionate about self employment, while we are shouting job creation, etc, we must realize that millions, not thousands, are being frustrated daily by the system that fail woefully to protect them. As I am typing this, I am watching scores of young men and women struggling to be attended to by a govt agency that would process their self employment trainimg application. They have been frequenting the place in the last three months. We must not fail to realize that these people and many more are being pushed into unemployment not due to lack of idea but other extreneous factors.

It is therefore my view that the unemployment situation was actually aggravated by government and not the citizens. When govt put minimum condition in place, the citizen would follow it up.

LiteratureRe: Help:: How Can I Concentrate Better When I Read? by olanajim(m): 11:56am On Nov 20, 2007
Yea, I agree with you that the guy has problem steming from his attitude. But I don't want to pre-empt the possibility of his salvation. Yes you are a realist . But being a realist should not be reason why you must condemn people to failure and write them off. Nigerian has got too much of that supply that is why intelligent youths from the villiage have difficulties in expressing their talents.

If everyone had embrace solid principle of realism as you tent to be postulating, where will Oluchi, Gani Fawehinmi, Tony Elumelu etc get the opportunity to discover themselves? Where would the Awolowos, Rasaq Okoyas, Aliko Dangotes, get the opportunity to be where they are today? My sentiment is that we should give people the benefit of doubt when they show flashes of desire to accomplish something. Of course, we must know when to place "stop loss order".

When you look at what I told the guy earlier, you will find that it is meant to propel him to think and to work on himself. Nobody can do it for him. His success of failure is anchor upon his own being.

"NOT WHAT HE WISHES AND PRAYS FOR DOES A MAN GET. HIS WISHES AND PRAYERS ARE ONLY GRATIFIED WHEN HARMONIZED WITH HIS THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS".

I also take exception to your dragging Nigeria's name under the mud. Some Nigerians may be dull, corrupt, and unpatriotic. The truth remains that, you are a Nigerian. Your intellect and wisdom wasn't made by America. We also know that Nigerian professionals drive the economy of the country you are living no matter how small. Unless you want to tell me that people like you that had found joy in Foreign land are doing nothing. But you are not the idle type. Therefore try and stop generalising negative traits in some Nigerians.

Finally, Alimondjoy, you seem to be passionate about children. Stop comparing adults with children. They are a world apart. Adult can remake themselves, children are programmed by others. Adult have will power, children has desire. Please make distinction.

CareerRe: Young And Upcoming Professionals, Lets Meet Here by olanajim(m): 11:16pm On Nov 19, 2007
Akyus,
COREN mean council for the regulation of engineering in Nigeria. It is a body responsible for regulating engineer practice in Nigeria. COREN is to Engineering, what Nafdab is to food and drugs. It was established by constitution. It register engineering personels and firms.

However, you can't just walk to COREN office and seek registration as an Engineer. You must first be a registered member of an Engineering association recognized by COREN. NSE is the oldest and most popular engineering association in Nigeria. It is the most vibrant engineering body in Nigeria. Even COREN is not as active as NSE. Also, most of COREN's Presidents, are at one stage NSE presidents. It is also intructive to note that NSE Presidents and chairmen are members of Engineering council hosted by COREN. And most of COREN's activities are executed through NSE.

Wendymanda, Ika,

I happen to love twins and I want 3 set if my babe can take it.

You see, in yorubaland, twins are supposed to transform impoverished home to wealthy home. Won so ile alakisa d'ile alasho. But in Igbo Ora, they are achieving the opposite. Does that call for celebration?

Sure, I rejoice with them for being on world map. I think they got their priority wrong. With illeteracy and poverty ravaging their land, their preoccupation must not be how to make more twins but how to embrace family planning.
RomanceRe: Should I Marry For Love Or Stability? by olanajim(m): 8:55am On Nov 19, 2007
Alimondjoy,

Oops, I would soon get mine. . . In fact, I want to stop being a Monk and experiment. But I would have to meditate for 2 years before I can act.

Meanwhile, I don't want to be an "Ikemba" or "OBJ" I am creating my own identity. I won't go for the MBGN that would marry me at 70 nor the Beautiful lady that would put her life in danger by subjecting herself to Doctors' blade every month. I would rather get a natural beauty among the Rev. Mothers or "Elehas" (women in purdah). Better still, an ugly woman with heart of gold who, can take me to cloud 9 when the journey commenced.

David,

you are really having a good time clearing your name from the mess of another man. Hope you are enjoying it?

Debosky,

I am learning. I got points from that piece.

Seriously, it is an illusion for anyone to say sex can guaranttee marriage stability. Maybe in the beginning, it works but on the long run, the reality would set in. Sex can only guaranttee stability just as salt guaranttee healthy soup. Little wonder why heartbreaks and cheatings are gaining prominent in such home.

Eldee, I have always been neutral! I love it when I watch football and other people had to exchange blow after the match. I am always the mediator. I love it when I enjoy all the games without having hypertension. I can walk to Arsenal without them gunning me down. I can dine with red devil and still retain my purity. I can cross the blue bridge without fear of being thrown off the bridge.

But, I want some more! I won't be investing my money or time on the club. Thank God, technology is here. I want to join the fight and break some legs! I want to be a loyal fan of a worthy two worthy clubs. One at home, the other abroad. My search is on. I am winner!
FashionRe: Ashamed Of My Unsightly Hairy Legs! by olanajim(m): 12:25am On Nov 19, 2007
You may have to keep that ritual for as long as your hairs keep growing. Maybe a life time! You should have sought expert advice before subjecting yourself to razor cut. I just hope those hairs won't become as piercing as thorn in the midweek. Your boyfriend won't find it funny at all.

Seriously, I suggest you schedule appointment with an expert. Perhaps your hairy nature are not genetic but a product of your metabolic activities. I wouldn't know. It is often better to consult experts before applying any remedy to a problem.

Seriously, did the experts not observed that poverty is the second most visible feat recorded at Igbo Ora? Well, I happened to know this through my contact with them. They are fertile no doubt, but the sends their kids to neighbouring locality and Lagos, due to poverty. They don't need any medal, what they need are family planning experts. Child labour is very common there.

I don't envy them at all. No one should pray for what would impoverish him or her.

RomanceRe: A Deep Pain Within Me. ''pls Ladies I Nid More Of Ur Advice'' by olanajim(m): 10:58pm On Nov 18, 2007
The best way to threat people suffering from the cancer of the mind is to IGNORE THEM. When rational men ignore their folly, and foul languages, it add verve to their stupidity and make the fools appear saints in the eyes of their fellow fools.

A wise man, desirous of being safe from the folly of these mentally imbalanced people and the "cancer of their minds" must play the card of disdain and utter nonchallant even as the men so afflicted gradually destroy themselves. The only doctor that can cure them is contempt.

For those that had been or are being impersonated regardless of the motive, the best approach is to clear your name just once, yet loud enough for the deaf to hear and let rational men make their judgement. Only the unsophisticated would fall for the tricks of desperate fraudsters.

To the impersonators, and their praise singers, the day of judgement is nigh. My only message to you is:

YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME, YOU CAN FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME; BUT YOU CAN NEVER, NEVER FOOL ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.

For your stupidity exceeds only that of your stupidity.

Uyai, you are very correct. I like your input and it is enough to help her make up her mind to nurture love and sustain stability.

But I disagree with you on the last sentence. He won't find a beautiful woman but a more if not most beautiful lady should the poster leave him.

Ifabaaba,
who says nairaland is the centre of comedy? Wait till someome hit you with a crazy jibe before you know that tragegy also have a place. Just make sure you are not hypertensive before taking a tour.

Almondjoy,
come to think of it, I was kind to the man who married the most beautiful girl in Nigeria. A girl that could have been his last daughter. I am very happy for him. In fact, I envy him.

Come to think of it, is this man a kindhearted and loving man? In romance, he was and is still super at his age. Bianca said this herself. But for his kindness and love, Nigerian could have been another Uganda, and might have been burried in the land of history.

I am sorry I called him goatlike warlord. He is actually goatlike ex-warlord.
