Walspring: I need help and i need someone to tell me how i can get SEVIS fee pay in SEME or CONTONU... I need direction and do i have to take dollars down to SEME or COTONU and get this done?

I got this long info from part 3 of this thread and saved it on my phone since, even though I didn't use it. I'm sure it'll be of help to you....

We have discussed this several times but let me still reiterate. I want to break it down into steps:

1. Photocopy your passport and I-20 form.

2. Go to mile2 and enter a cab going to SEME border. Not sure how much the T.fare is now, just ask anyone where Cabs going to SEME border are.

3. When you get to the border, take a bike and inform the Okada man that you are going to ECO bank.There is one ECOBANK before you cross the border, that's Nigeria's ECOBANK.There is another ECOBANK when you cross, that's your destination.

4. The Immigration guys will stop you for sure.They will ask for your passport and ask if you have foreign currency. Pls, don't give your money to okada man. Some may request this from you that they will help you to cross with it so that you won't tip those guys.Pls, don't be penny wise.

5. They have about 5 points you are going to cross. If you tip for just 1k at the first point, tell the Immigration guys b4 you pay that they will give you some1 to take you along the other 4points.If you didn't request for this, you will tip at 5points.Talk with boldness.Max you can tip 2k.Those guys are thieves.They can just hijack your phone to hold you to ransom and request for 5k tip.Be smart with them.

6. Now when you get to ECOBANK, just tell the cashier you want to pay for SEVIS fee.They understand this wella.

7. The Cashier will write you 200dollars equivalence in CFA/235 dollars equivalence in CFA if you are paying for courier delivery. The last time I went 200dollars = 119,000CFA = 38k naira.You know currency flunctuates. ### Okay, lemme add what Kunsoft just said, the bank will charge you 6,000 naira.

8.The cashier will direct you to the security guys. They will accompany you to a reliable Exchanger.Don't give bank security guys anything cos those exchanger appreciate them.

9. You get back to the bank, a girl will help you fill the Western Union form. The Cashier will request for your I-20 form so that they wont make mistake and request for photocopy of your passport so that they wont make mistake in your name.

10.When you are through, ask the security guy to point a reliable Okada man to you among those that queue in front of the bank. The Okada man will hold you fone and any other valuables with you so that you wont give any tip while coming back.

11. When you cross the border, enter cab for 800/1k back to Mile 2.

I am going for usa interview next week. My school did use waec in lieu of toefl and they also stated in the 1 20 that they do require English test and the student has it. Pls my confusion now is that i wouldnt know what the visa officer wil ask though i wrote toefl but the score is low 65. Pls friends am thinking of going wit it incase if they ask. Pls is the score acceptable at the usa embassy .thanks ur replies will be gratefully appreciated.

I'm guessing you are for undergraduate and though your toefl score is kinda low, i'd advise you go with it since you have no other choice.

However, make sure you have a very good answer ready in case the VO asks you why your toefl score is that low (come up with a very good reason for the low score and also add that your school made the admission decision based on the toefl score and the evaluation of your high school transcript).

1. To print your SEVIS receipt online after payment, go to https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/dhs/loadSearchPage.do and enter some of the details You filled in your SEVIS form (i.e I-20 number {which also doubles as your SEVIS number}, Surname and date of birth)

2. No, it doesn't matter, as long as it goes in line with what is written on your I-20. Then You got no problems.

3. Yes! It is still very much payable as GTB is the only official bank that handles the MRV payment for the US embassy.

I know You didn't address your questions to Me, just felt like answering before Biggy & Annoymus comes online... They might have more to add when they do.

Of course, You need to pay the SEVIS and fill the DS-160 form... These two are very important!

Datty85: For ur passport photograph please guys go to Studio 24 and tell dem u want a US passport....they will give u a standard one dat is acceptable. It's just 800 Naira. Don't make the mistake of taking ur 2*2 passport at the embassy gate. Those guys don't know wat they are doing. There's a 100% chance that you will get denied if u go with all this roadside photographs.

Yes you can, but I hope it's Family funds You have on your I-20.

If not, I think You'll have to request for a new I-20 and then perfect the filling of your DS-160.

Be sure to confirm this before scheduling another appointment.

No, it is You that is not getting it.

The system doesn't work that way, the fact that You cancel your date immediately doesn't mean the person You want to exchange with will get it on his/her side.

Follow what Biggy has said, if You want to re-schedule, simply cancel your previous appointment and search for your preferred date.

The part where it asks if uve travelled to any countries before and if u belong to a clan or tribe, languages u speak etc...that section dint come up for me to fill. Let me first ask what browser you use while filling the DS-160. I think Google Chrome is probably a better browser(my personal opinion though)

Or maybe you've not been patient enough while filling, because there are some parts of the form where you have to chill a bit for the browser to do a quick refresh before showing the next option.

You might wanna try using a different browser from the one you've used previously and be patient enough for the page to refresh when necessary.

I think you can put your Daddy's information there if you wish to tell the VO your Dad stays in the US. Though the gurus in here always advise applicants to put the school official's information.

But to be on a safer side, you could put the school official's info.

I remember when I was looking for a date, I checked the site around 6:15am and no dates were available. I checked again at exactly 6:30am and I saw 3 days were open....

Try and call the US embassy's customer careline regularly too, I remember someone got a date on phone and scheduled His interview on phone. The number is 09-4601748.

Those were basically the sites i used while i was preparing to write mine.
