My brother, thanks for recogninzing my frequent request for a link. I always petronized viewing centers whenever I run out of subscription for my DSTV but right now I am not in Nigeria. Where I am, I pay so much for accommodation and that's because it comes with unlimited internet. So, streaming live matches is just one of the means of making the best of the money I pay for rent here. I will always be asking like this for the next three years. So if you have the link always share with me and don't make it look like I am asking for so much. Merci.
I also stream matches live online.

don't u think those doing the right thing in this country should be at an advantage? Some of us dnt care about which party has which advantage, we only care about doing things the right way in this country and it's never too late to start. The newly suggested order of elections is the right and progressive way, any prospective contestant will know he/she has to work hard to convince the grassroot. The previous order made it too easy for the wrong pple to end up in elected positions, and that is a major problem the country is facing.
I agree with you. But to get the perfect order where each candidate stands on his own popularity during elections, we may have to conduct 3 elections which will cost us more time(3 weeks) and money. Because even the state assembly legislators have to also stand on their own and not be reliant on or controlled by the governor.
Which leads us to:
Day 1 - National and State Assembly elections
Day 2 - Governorship elections
Day 3 - Presidential election.

Very weird
Because Nairaland is the only place where faceless people with fake names and no pictures can write rubbish and insult their seniors, political and religious leaders and get away with it.
In summary, Nairaland is the only place you'll see a stupid comment like....."Buhari is a gworo chewing and fura sipping bastard" which ironically gets liked by others.

InvestmentRe: Savings Vs. Investments: Which Is Better? Any Difference? - Topwritersden by olujastro: 11:46am On Mar 09, 2018
If you asked me this same question last year, I would hurriedly say investment. I had no savings in the bank, so much that my account officers started calling me to ask why I stopped using their banks. I was busy diversifying my investments as much as possible. But now I strongly believe in a balance of both and I've raised my savings portfolio to about 30% this year. This happened after I lost N1.5m in December in one of the investments I decided to try, then it dawned on me that money in the bank (even though doesn't generate anything) isn't such a bad idea. grin
I have learned to set a threshold of invested capital for myself which I have attained. Henceforth I'll be growing only my savings, because hunger to use more money to make more will possibly make you lose almost everything and leave one bankrupt if care is not taken.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm somehow ashamed that I haven't visited my neighbouring countries at all.
I planned to do the West African route from Lagos up to Abidjan in IVC back in December when I went for Christmas but couldn't find anyone to go with me, except I was ready to sponsor the person's entire trip.

I've seen a couple of people here indicating interest in doing this trip soon. I'll love to do this during the next Christmas holiday in December as I have other trips planned for Easter and Summer holidays already.
Then East African trip can come in 2019.

I'm happy my state is developing rapidly in the last 11 years, but I hope Nigeria can stop this open drainage road construction that litters everywhere. I mean this is very archaic. Are we developing in retrogression? I have yet to see a single road across Europe that has open drainage.
Is a road with sidewalks on top the drainage to much for us to do in Nigeria? We should be building for the future, not for temporary satisfaction.

Broda, sometimes parkin'the bus dey necessary, u see weytin i Tell you, this is tactics to survive UCL knock-out stages, Juve needed this match badly, they went ahead to score 2goals, then teach Spurs how to park the bus.

This is UCL &not EPL, where u play open football with Brighton or Swansea.

You try that with an experience team, then be ready to blame ur self
I expected Spurs to defend that 3goals till death but the choose the other way &they got eliminated.

Finally, kudos to Spurs, they play good football, but sometimes good football without silverwares is meaningless.
I couldn't agree more.

I don't see ToT'ham play their normal open game, they'll will be parking The Bus to defend their 2 away goals, while Juve will be mounting pressure to get atleast a goal then defend till '90mins, but Totham too want to progress. wink

The damage has already been done in Turin &Higuain has himself to blame for missing that penalty, this would have been a different ball game.

I see ToT'ham play more midfielders, leaving Dele Ali &Harry Kane to roam upfront incase of any lose ball for possible counter, Erikson playing behind them &also available for setpieces.

Best Bet:
DC/Un4.5 or. Un3.5 goals, no much goals 2day

X-15mins, possible XHT or un1.5HT
You can as well exploit corner-kicks &Cards market.
Most of you don't know Spurs enough. I've been a Spurs fan for 12 years now. We don't park any bus like Chelsea and ManU (under Mourinho), especially not under Poch who plays high pressing football. This gives us a lot of possession, ability to dominate the game irrespective of who the opponent is. If we set out to defend, we'll lose the game, so I see Poch using the same team that played on Saturday apart from Aurier who has a match ban.
The current Spurs team is so underrated so I'm not surprised when people don't give them a chance. Surprise awaits all of you soon!

My Nigerian passport expired last year and i was considering applying for a visa for my visit this christmas but people have been telling me not to bother applying, that renewing the passport is the best option. However , with all this recent talk of scarcity of passport booklets, I'm confused
Passport booklet scarcity has since ended early last year. My friends that went to Nigerian embassy in Sweden in June 2017 all got theirs same day. I renewed mine this January during my Christmas holiday in Nigeria and I also got it.
Just apply for passport so that the embassy people don't frustrate you for seeking visa to enter your country.

This happens mostly in Rivers, Bayelsa and some parts of Delta state. Rivers is the headquarters of wetting the ground by settling "stakeholders" before you are allowed to carry out any project, else they chase you away. I lived there for 6 years.
You hardly hear of this in AkwaIbom, Crossriver and Edo I think.
PoliticsRe: Facts Why Buhari Will Win 2019 Election - Kelvin Nwata by olujastro: 1:52am On Feb 23, 2018
Quite a lot of ignorant political analysts here. I'm not a seer and as much as I would prefer to try someone else, 2019 is Buhari's to lose if no major decamping happens before 2019.
No living northern candidate can defeat Buhari even in their own state of origin. Buhari will defeat Atiku in Adamawa, Dankwambo in Gombe and Lamido in Jigawa respectively.
Buhari will win the NW with over 80%, the NE with over 70% - Taraba will be the exception, the NC with at least 50%- will win Niger, Kwara, Kogi, and get at least 40% in Nasarawa, and 30% in Plateau and Benue. Ethnic and religious sentiments are the better reasons for Buhari to lose some northern (middle-belt) votes, not one paper weight Northern candidate. This outcome is almost sure irrespective of who challenges Buhari.
Now the only way the PDP can perform well in the election (though won't be enough to win it) is if it presents Donald Duke as its candidate. Duke's candidacy will reduce the voter apathy in the entire south because many in the south would rather watch TV than queue up for Buhari or Atiku.
Duke can win over 80% in the SS and SE. Unfortunately, the NW will neutralise that. While the SW being the most sophisticated voting region could give Duke over 60% and Buhari 40%.That way the SW can neutralise the NE a little.
If it is Buhari vs another northerner, the SW will easily go for Buhari in the midst of huge voter apathy.
Anyhow we look at it, though not my most preferred choice but Buhari wins it eventually.

thank you. I'm kinda confused with something. I'm still reading the thread and would soon be done.

In my school, unilag, I'd be finishing my final exams in late October. Can I apply that same year looking at the fact that my transcript/certificate might not be available until February the year after
Some schools begin their admission process in October and end in December. I can't remember their deadlines for receiving your hard copy transcript.
For UiS, the admission process begins in December and closes around January 15th. Your hard copy transcript and other requested documents should be received by March 5th thereabouts. Go through the sites of the school(s) you are interested in to see their various deadlines.

I also see some people bringing back the issue of certifying results or certificates in court before sending or uploading them. I repeat, there is nothing like this as a requirement. I didn't do anything like that. Provided your documents carry the stamp of your school, the issuing authority, it's perfect.

I don't understand how the mechanism of Nigerian economic works, considering the fact that oil price has been going up for sometime now but it is yet to reflect on our exchange rate, had it been the reverse was the case we would have seen the rise in exchange rate.everything here is scam shocked
The naira is fixed against only the dollar because we operate a fixed currency regime since Nigeria has been existing. This is due to the fact that Nigeria is an import dependent country.
The only way the naira can rise in exchange rate is if we float the currency to be determined by market forces. But we can't in our current import driven economy as this will ruin the naira to say 1000/$.
This govt has for the first time in Nigeria committed to floating the naira by 2021 thereabouts that's why it is striving hard to work us out of importing certain items that drain our forex, especially rice, wheat, petroleum products and steel.
BusinessRe: Dangerous Mindsets No Serious Nigerian Should Have In 2018 by olujastro:
Nice points, especially the first one. Nigerians have this very annoying dependent mindset, thinking the world owes them something.
E.g. My brother or sister is abroad so he or she has to send us money or nice clothes. He's working and I'm not so he should at least give me pocket money.
I hate that I have such persons as siblings and close friends. I just wonder why someone will not be keen on having his or her own money, and will instead be feeling comfortable taking from others.
If there is anything I can guarantee is that people who are less dependent on others and shy about taking from others always go all out to succeed and make their own money.
PoliticsRe: Which Nigerian Leader in 2019 Can Transform The Country To Look Like This?(Photo by olujastro: 2:17pm On Feb 12, 2018
I'm afraid no one can at the moment. Most Nigerians have gone haywire in terms of bad behavior and corruption. One president cannot make everyone do the right thing always. This was my post during my Christmas holiday in Nigeria.

The festive period is over, fuel queues automatically disappear, a few greedy filling station operators were able to make their Christmas money to the detriment of the remaining 180 million people.
Till December 2018 for the next scarcity - filling stations will as usual sell products at midnight at higher prices only to black market people who adulterate the product with unknown liquid and resell at higher prices to fellow countrymen and knock down their engines just to make quick money.
Govt receives the bashing while a few selfish people achieved their aim - A wonderful Christmas!
Everywhere you turn to you see people trying to make money by making others suffer; airport staff, passport office, electricity distribution companies, policemen at extortion points, traders selling fake items to unsuspecting customers, one car blocking the road and hindering hundreds from moving forward, road contractors, etc.
Each person only cares about himself and his pocket. The rest can suffer. Go to other countries and see how people behave, then you know why such countries are functional.
Elections will come and people will start talking about parties and candidates, forgetting that even the best candidates have to deal with over 100 million selfish people who will do anything to keep their pockets increasing irrespective of how many others suffer from their actions.
What a wonderful people!

PoliticsRe: Benue Government Loses Confidence In FG Over Killer Herdsmen by olujastro: 4:26pm On Feb 06, 2018
I'm not surprised at this at all.
The IGP who happens to be the second most unprofessional senior police officer ever after Mbu, has shown more than enough bias in the herdsmen/farmers crisis in favour of the herdsmen.
What annoys me more is how long it will take Buhari to take serious action against the killers and the IGP regarding this crisis.
Not a single herdsman arrested that I know of, but those who attacked herdsmen last week in Gboko have been swiftly arrested.
To keep a country united requires most importantly justice for all! Anything less is unacceptable.
I'm sure Buhari doesn't know how many southern voters he has lost due to his failure to seriously address this crisis once and for all. They are many on my Facebook page and I am likely going to be one of them if this continues.

Hi all. I renewed my international passport in Nigeria when I went home for Christmas but it came out after I had traveled.
I have checked EMS site calculator and I see it costs about N9,900.
I sent my sister the money and she went to the Festac post office only to be told they'll collect 20k. 12k as sending fee to Western Europe and 8k because it's a passport. I am really shocked at this. How is a passport different from other documents?
Is EMS operating as a government agency? Because that could be the only explanation for this corruptive inflated price from N9,900 to N20k.
Any advice on how I can get them to send this document without paying a high price?

PoliticsRe: 12 Months To The Election, Yet No Credible Candidate To Face Buhari? by olujastro: 2:53pm On Jan 29, 2018
Inasmuch as Buhari has his own failures, chief of which are:
Being to slow in taking decisions and actions as a president.
And failure to address the herdsmen crisis once and for all.

Else, I'm OK with the government's strides so far especially in terms of infrastructural development.

I'm not one of those people expecting magic in a short period. People who gave PDP 16yrs and didn't get good roads, electricity are judging this government's and APC's performance based on lack of 24hrs electricity in less than 3yrs. How unfair?

I choose Buhari for 2019 over all these names coming up so far.

Of course it is legal. Importation of items like stock fish is done on a private basis by private individuals in Nigeria who import from fish farmers in the north of Norway.
Government only cares about earning custom duty on your imported goods.
