my answer is in two fold:

1. that the MOG can come this far in life is a real challenge and inspiration to me personally. he has proven that you can become anything you choose to be irrespective of your background. he has been able to put the word to work and through diligence, faith and persistence, he has become so big in life that many ignorant people who have no idea where and how he started in life have busied themselves talking trash about him. this is the word of God at work, this is a testimony of a man that is so bold to trust and put the word to work.

2. i believe the proceeds from these business ventures will go into furthering the gospel and conquering more lands for the gospel cos we are getting very close to the end, the battle is more fierce than it has ever been. the gospel is free but not cheap, we need all the resources available to push the gospel on.

How does the bible define poverty?

Deuteronomy 15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

In our society today, who can be tagged poor? What condition(s) makes someone poor?

If we are commanded to give to the poor, then who are the poor? Are the jobless poor or are widows poor or are the incapacitated poor?

Last sunday, the pastorate in the church I attend said they will be relieving all the workers who don't pay tithe of their appointments as workers.

I think this is wrong as people should not be forced into giving what they may not have intended to give.

I fear that soon, I will decided to stop attending church as they ways in which the pastors try to cajole people to give really doesn't go down well with me.

you had left the church long before now. instead of leaving the church or coming here to ask why don't you seek audience with your pastors for better explanations. take time to pray and listen to the Holy Spirit instead of listening to what people on this forum would say.

until you learn to listen to the Holy Ghost inside you, you will only get more confused than you are now! christianity is not only listening to someone tell you stuff but you have been given a spirit that can help you confirm what the word says relative to what you are taught by your pastor. whatever a man says that is inconsistent with the word must not be accepted.

you must develop your human spirit to listen to the holy spirit in you. the question you should have asked is that how many of us are in sync with the holy spirit, do we know the mind of God, are we trully in love with Him? your knowledge of who the church is will go a long way to helping you do the right thing.

leaving the church is of no consequence to the church but to you cos the church can never die cos you left and the church will keep on expanding and growing irrespective of your decision to leave or stay.

paying tithe is not something you do only cos you were told but its a personal revelation. if you do not have the revelation about it then do not do it, you will definitely miss out of some things but the work of the ministry will move ahead even if you dot pay your tithe.

not paying your tithe will not stop you from going to heaven but it will definitely rob you of a lot of things here and thereafter.

Pastor Adeboye, isnt it pure wickedness that after you collect members tithes and offerings to build your university, your poor members can't even afford to send their children there? Why charging outrageous fees for tuition and other expenses? why cant you give dirt cheap or more precisely FREE university education to your members (whose continued tithes and offerings you use in sustaining the university)and other people you could have the muscle to admit? This hypocrisy is alarming! and you come to preach salvation to me? What impudence!

show me your proof. were you ever given the responsibility of collating the proceeds from a book written by one MOG? did any MOG tell you in confidence that all the money from his/her books belong to him/her? show us your proof!
