Christianity EtcRe: Which Of These Churches Will Jesus Accept And Attend? by onetrack(m): 10:08am On Jul 16, 2014
FOLYKAZE: Jesus and church ke? We live in a civilized world which Jesus didn't know about. I will take him to dubai, give him legions of pro.stitute, design him with golden robe, package him with bling bling, set him on a private jet and go to lil-wayne show. Jesus missed all this. He cant remember any boring church for now
Jesus hung out with pros.titutes even when he was alive. He turned water into wine when the wedding party had run out. He created a banquet for people to eat. He was always hanging out with sinners. There is little doubt that Jesus was a party animal!
IslamRe: Quranic Statements Under Review by onetrack(m): 9:54am On Jul 16, 2014
The Quran also mistakenly identifies Mary as part of the Christian Trinity: "And when God said, ‘O Jesus son of Mary, didst thou say unto men, 'Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God'?" Quran 5:116

Christians have never taken Mary as a god alongside Jesus and God. This is a misunderstanding of the trinity by Muhammad.

Also the Quran says that the Jews believe that the prophet Ezra was the son of God. "The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah ." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded" Quran 9:30

Jews have never believed that any man has been the son of God. Another clear misunderstanding by Muhammad.

Skako: He it is Who created for youall that is on earth. Then He Istawa (rose over) towards the heaven and made them seven heavensand He is the All-Knower of everything.”- The Noble Quran 2:29 (Muhsin Khan)
These are the points to be noted here: -
1.Nowhere does Allah say here that he made Earth first and then he made heaven. He merely says that he made all that is on earth and then he turned to heaven that was already created. If Allah had really created heavenAFTERhe created the earth then why would he say“Then He Istawa (rose over) towards the heaven”?After the creation of earth, how can he“Istawa (rise over) towards the heaven”when he hasn’t created it yet in the first place. The only possible explanation for this is that Heaven and Earth were already created.
Does this verse say Allah created the Earth? No! This verse talks only about the “things on earth” and not earth itself!
2.This verse doesn’t even refer to the creation of the earth. Does Allah say that he created earth in this verse? Read again. This verse only says that Allah created “all that is on earth”. Meaning, Earth wasALREADY CREATEDby Allah and in this verse Allah is talking only about theTHINGS PRESENT ON EARTH AND NOT EARTH ITSELF. So your allegation that the Quran says that God created Earth first and then Heaven is totally false and does not hold any ground because this verse doesn’t talk about Allah creating the Earth at all
As it is written, things 'on the earth' were created before the heavens, implying that the earth was already there. Anyhow you look at it, the heavens were created after things on the earth.
Christianity EtcRe: The Internet:breeding Ground For Terrorism. by onetrack(m): 9:10am On Jul 16, 2014
Swiftboy: but its written in the quran that whoever kill one has killed a nation...how's this supporting terrorism? Beside we cant say the fact that there are few bad eggs, then generalize! There are still cool muslims out there.
This quote from the Quran is a copy of Jewish commentaries, but it actually says 'whoever kills UNJUSTLY, it is as if he has killed all of mankind'. All you have to do is declare that it is justifiable to kill them.....for instance Boko Haram can say that the people they kill deserve death for not participating in their jihad, and so to them it is justifiable killing.
Christianity EtcRe: Has The Trumpets Already Sounded? by onetrack(m): 9:05am On Jul 16, 2014
For almost 6,000 years of human history prior to World War 1 no conflict had ever recorded up to 1 million fatalities.
Check your history again. The campaigns of Tamurlane killed around 17 million people in the 14th century. Combining that with the bubonic plague in Europe and Asia, as well as the hundred years war in Europe, and I think the case could be made that the 14th century was worse than the 20th, if you take into account deaths as a percentage of the total population.

Je pense on peux utilise les deux
En France on ne dit pas 'je descends du boulot....'

Apatheist: Evolved from a primate god. It is even in the Bible. We are made in God's image, and we evolved from ape-like creatures. It's a no-brainer that god himself evolved. smiley
However, God's behavior does not seem to have evolved. He's still giving cancer to children and allowing women to be molested....

No Satanist has ever persecuted an atheist, as far as I know. (True Satanists actually don't believe in Satan anyway, they just believe that you are free to do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone.)
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Claim Abuja, Lagos Attacks In New Video by onetrack(m): 2:19pm On Jul 13, 2014
The concept of Jihad as a spiritual struggle only emerges in the 11th century, about 500 years after Muhammad. The term 'jihad' in the time of Muhammad meant almost exclusively a war. In the Quran, Sura 9 repeatedly exhorts Muslims to carry out holy war on non-believers until they submit (see 9:29). Muhammad was following instructions from 'god' to attack the Byzantine Empire even though they had not attacked him. This was to be purely a war of aggression. After Muhammad's death his followers carried out those plans.

I should add that the 9th sura was the second to last sura in the Quran, and therefore, according to Islamic jurisprudence, cancels out any previous sura which conflicts with it. If you look strictly at the order in which Muhammad composed the suras of the Quran, you will see that they start out very peacefully, but as time goes on they get more and more aggressive and war-like, especially once he became powerful. In the early days, when people laughed at him and insulted him, he did not respond in kind, but once he became powerful, he ordered his critics and rivals put to death. In addition, there is an example from Muhammad's life where his army captures 'enemy' women and kept them as slaves including using them for sex....just in case you are wondering where BH gets some of their ideas....

kolawaxxy: Well... To the atheists, how do you explain the wonders people like T.B Joshua perform?

For instance, a MOG calling someone he has never met before and telling him/her what was unknown to anyother person.

Does the supernatural exist?
That stuff can easily be arranged. Jim Jones and Peter Popoff have done stuff like that before with a little help from friends and technology.

cococandy: You're agnostic means you're open to conviction just like seun.
What kind of proof will convince you?

I agree too that religion is man made.
I am willing to go wherever the evidence takes me. However, the standard of proof is very high. This god would have to essentially show himself/herself to me in a direct fashion. Real miracles would help as well.
Christianity EtcRe: Atheists. Come In Let's Discuss. by onetrack(m): 5:51pm On Jul 04, 2014
I am agnostic atheist. If there is a creator, I have no idea, however, at this point we don't even know how the universe came to be. Assuming that a god did it is just that, an assumption. Even if there was a creator, what if this creator is now dead, or unaware of our existence, or busy with other things.

My opinion, however, is that there is no god in the sense that most people believe.

And all religions and their gods are man-made--that much is absolutely clear to me.

The problem with this book is that it has been proven to be a forgery dating long after Muhammad. The book uses linguistic terms that were unknown until the 13th century. I believe it was created by a few Muslims in order to convince christians to join islam. Fortunately modern science has ways of finding fakes.

Gombs: Ok, so everything came from nothing? Or that we evolved from monkeys, how then do we still have monkeys or where did the monkeys we evolved from came from!?... if monkeys came from big bang, so we evolved from stupid to intelligent? Facinating
We did not evolve from monkeys, but rather we and monkeys have a common ancestor. Our intelligence developed as a result of adaptation to the environment.

Why not Try God, , he doesn't change
which god? Sango, Yahweh, Odin, Shiva....? And why are they hiding?

Wow....if art was a deliberate man made invention, how do you explain how the world is designed, how the mountains and flowers etc are arranged wonderfully...music? Really? Language? Innate and critical tool which evolved? Wow...how do u explain languages of animals? Were they the ones who 'deliberately' invented it?
The world is not art as it is not man-made. In any case beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you find beautiful someone else may find ugly. Animals have developed some communication skills as a means of adaptation to the environment.

Meaning, u just admitted the fact that atheists absence of proof that God doesn't exist is NOT a proof he doesn't really exist!?
For me, yes.

In other words, you don't have an idea
That's correct. I have no idea of an afterlife or otherworldly existence. I haven't seen proof of such.

You didn't attempt answering question 6
I gave an answer that expresses my belief.

I'm glad you accepted the fact you cannot prove God doesn't exist
Very few atheists will say that they can prove that God does not exist. Maybe you misunderstand what atheists actually think. But I'm happy to see that you took the time to ask so that I could correct any misinformation.

Alright...thanks for your time
Happy to answer.

Gombs: I'm almost certainly pessimistic when atheists are around, would like to change that...so, a few mind bugging kweshuns are in my mind. Pls any one attempting to answer any kweshun should make his answers short and precise, devoid of personal attack or insults. Now, I'd ask em kweshuns

1.ummmmm...do you choose evolution or big bang theory?

2. Is your trust in science based on faith or based on science?

3. Where does language, art, music, and religion come from?

4. Is absence of proof the proof of absence?

5. What does the atheist position offer people? How has it improved your life? Why will it improve others’ lives?

6. When you attempt to use logic to conclude facts about religion, are you starting at the conclusion (God is not real), or are you starting at true premises? Be honest. If you are starting at true premises, then what are they? And how are they true? Think about #4 when you answer.

7. If all Christians believed that the Bible was entirely allegorical, what would you argue in support of your position that there is no God?

8. [If it even is] Why is it important to you that everyone should be/become an atheist?
1. Evolution and big bang theory are not mutually exclusive. I believe that the existing evidence points toward both the big bang and evolution being true.

2. I don't 'trust' science; I'm a skeptic. Scientific facts and theories can change as new evidence disproves previously accepted information. However I trust the scientific method as being the most accurate way of discerning the truth.

3. Art, music, and religion are all deliberate man-made inventions. Language is innate and a critical tool which evolved to enable humans to work together to survive.

4. No.

5. I don't follow superstitious rituals and I don't give my money to money-grubbing pastors or mallams. I don't worry about some fiery afterlife punishment from some angry, immature, selfish god.

6. The null hypothesis for me is that there is no god actively involved in human affairs. In order for me to accept that my hypothesis is wrong I need scientifically acceptable proof.

7. It is not for me to prove that a god (or gods) does not exist because I cannot prove it. I make no claims about any gods or the lack thereof and so it's for believers to prove that their gods do exist.

8. It's not important for me that everyone should become atheist. It would be enough for me if religion became strictly a personal, non-political affair for each person to follow privately. Something Jesus said about hypocrites who want to be seen praying on the street corner I quite agree with. Oh, and stay out of trying to interject religious mumbo-jumbo into science.

alpontif: It is not wrong to question, but it is wrong to conclude, when we do not, and cannot possibly have all the infrmation neccessary to process the validity or otherwise of the God concept. This is the classic mistake pronounced atheists make, they feel they have seen it all, and religious fanatics and fanatiscm do not even help matters.
I think you mistake what atheists actually think. Most of us are in fact agnostic. We do not believe we have all the information necessary to process the god concept--that is what religious people do more than us. We want more evidence and we are actually looking for more evidence, which is why atheists in general know more about the world religions than non-atheists.

The so-called 'scientific miracles' of the Quran are just based on very selective interpretations of certain verses. The Hindus and Christians claim the same thing in their holy books. That is also how astrologers claim they are correct: make a lot of vague statements about a subject and when certain statements appear to be true then claim victory and ignore the other wrong statements or just claim they are misunderstood. I've read the Quran and looked at the claims for science and miraculous knowledge and I find those claims to be completely baseless.

Gbemmyxal: The one true God(creator of the universe) exists - undisputed. So do smaller gods. If u doubt da existence of a smaller god(e.g god of iron, or thunder), try research extensively on these gods. As for the great God of all, you don't need to research too wide, jez ponder deeply on your existence, nd on how nature got into place, remained in place, and will never change from being in place.
"Pondering deeply on my existence" is not evidence. I can ponder deeply and conclude that I am a god....

tete7000: You erred. Morality has a lot to do with God. When morality is defined without God, morals become subjective; something we define to suit our fancy. With God you have a universal code of morals. What a Chinese Christian considers ethically right is what a Nigerian Christian considers appropriate, vis-a-vis an American Christian.
The issue of people not living their faith is an entirely different issue and has nothing to do with faith. Infact a Christian who doesn't live out his faith is as godless as an atheist for Christianity is not in name but in living. The first Christians are called Christians because their lives mimics Christ's. Finally if I won't trust a man who claims to believe in God, then there is no way I can trust an atheist. Reason: An atheist has no foundation upon which he builds his morals, if he is faced with difficult situation, he easily jettison that which he considers ethical and follows the path that gratifies his personal aggradizement. In short he lives only in flesh and will always seek to satisfy his flesh.
As per the OP I have no advice for you. I only pray your mum's pain and agony to not be in vain. May God open your eyes of understanding and pull you out from your pride so that you may come to know and appreciate the truth. If you need to go through some form of pain, sickness and suffering to arrive at the truth, it's my prayer for the sake of your mother that you go through such. AMEN
Slavery is perfectly 'legal' in Christianity. Nice morality there.
