Mukina, are you a mus-lim? And I need a straight answer, that's all. |
What I think Yaradua is doing at the moment is to strenghten state institutions to function effectively without any undue interference from the executives. In months to come, I see a more responsive police force, positioned to tackle public issues effectively. The crime situation in Lagos is under control presently. . . . . .I heard quite a lot of police personnel have been drafted to Lagos, VI and environs to quell the rise in criminal cases there. Someone said crime is worst than what obtains under OBJ. Well, it was under OBJ that a serving minister of justice, Bola Ige was gunned down at home, and up until as we speak, no one knows who killed the man. It was under OBJ that Harry Marshal was killed in cold blood. Williams was killed in Lagos when Ehindero was IGP. And up until now, we are yet to figure out the identity of his killers. The list is endless, the crimes committed under crime lord OBJ. May we never see his type again in this country. Lets just wait and see. |
But if mukina (or whatever the name is) is a mus-lim (as I'm wont to believe), why on earth did Seun the great make her the moderator of this section of NL? What's going on in NL? I think my time on the land will be greatly reduced in days to come. |
LOL. . . . .I think Kemofash and his/her ilk should see this. What a way to wrap up 8 years misrule. |
Rotimi, Just think about the trauma of getting wrongly diagnosed by some incompetent Nigerian doctors. . . . . . .And while going through all that, the guy has the heart to face those hawks at the assembly complex. He stood his ground and ensured that there are justifications to support whatever they claim they want to spend money on before he could sign the budget. And here, we have some peeps saying he's moving too slow for them. Well I agree with people who say we should move slowly and achieve some good results rather than putting up white elephant projects here and there. |
some chaps here have been saying obj initiated this obj initiated that. gosh!Excellent post, Cola. I can't agree more. We can only hope and pray that Yaradua be guided to do the right thing that benefits the yearnings of all while he's up there. Past thieves like OBJ has failed us with his retinue of projects that has no bearing or direction on anything. I think the only successful things OBJ did throughout his 8 years misrule was the fortification and expansion of his farms, women base, Abuja lands, and of course, his Hiltop mansion at Ota. - what a waste of precious time and resources. . . . . . . . . . .a terrible legacy to make reference to!! |
Kobo, There isn't anywhere in any of my entry where I stated that because you see some goodies in the crime lord OBJ, you're one of his boys or fan. Read up. And if my saying (daresay) you're one of OBJ's boy gets to you, and you have to put up some sort of defence, then I can comfortably say that you're indeed one of OBJ's! Bring down the clouds if you have to defend yourself, I care less. I have my point made, careless about what OBJ's people have to say. |
I daresay it's you who's one big OBJ fan. OBJ should be blamed for whatever woes has befallen us in the past year after his misrule. He (OBJ) was the one who foisted this same YarAdua guy on us (I believe, to slow down things). So, why are you OBJ's boys complaining? We wanted credible people to govern us, but with hawks like OBJ around, Nigerians can never get what they deserve because they (cursed lot) have some filthy interests to protect. You know what? I think Yaradua is indeed one great blessing from a cursed source. I careless what you have to say to that. |
No one's bending any rule. If OBJ knew he couldn't complete what he started, he should at the least leave something on ground for any coming administration after him to latch on to. The handover from him to YarAdua should have been seamless such that Yardua need not come on air to say he couldn't see anything on ground to show for the 16billion dollars spent on some phony power projects. I have nothing for or against OBJ. But as one of the few people who had the opportunity of ruling this country (and a special one who had the opportunity of ruling twice), I expected more than what I hear and see from him in this country today. So, when Kemofash said Yaradua should leave OBJ alone (as if he was really after the poor old adulterer and thief), I was really suprised. He/she should have simply posted something like [YarAdua Should get to work - Nigerians are waiting!]. That would have made a good title that people can contribute to. YarAdua really needs to clean the mess that OBJ left behind after his 8 wasted years at Aso villa, so that he can see clearly to fashion a way forward for us all. I will only begin to complain about YarAdua if after 2 years at the Villa, we can't see anything meaningful from him. But like I stated earlier, the fact that we can get PMS for 70 naira at the moment, in a $117/barrel oil environment is one huge feat from him. We all know what OBJ would have done to fuel price by now if he had thurrrd term going for him. |
Ok Kobo, I see your point. . . . . .should have read the other bit of Solokay's post before posting. In any case, I still believe whoever puts something to work out there for the good of all is who we will say did anythiong for us. All of OBJs projects could easily pass for white elephant projects if YarAdua did not beam a searchlight into what he claimed he did. |
solokay:My point exactly. I only tried to convince people like Kobo, Kemofash and Texcee. You can't claim credit for something you did not complete. David in the Bible had the mind to build a house for the Lord God, but it was Solomon, his son who got the credit for building the Temple in ancient times. Looking at that list, you could see OBJ coming up with so many project he couldn't complete. . , . . . . .he was biting more than he could chew! I take it that all those projects weren't really meant for completion. He was just putting up some kind of show. Even the projects he claimed he completed and commissioned have all been punctured by the house committee on power. The man is failure personified. Now, the east-west road project was indeed launched by him . . . . , . . . I guess a year or so before he departed Aso villa. But the thuurrd term struggles made him ''abandon'' the project. It wasn't until of late that YarAdua kicked off the project once again! So, who takes credit for this work? |
Well, I guess the commi must have been so ''impressed'' with the girl's presentation/proposals, he forgot to put on the fan or AC. That should explain why he was gasping for air after the first 20 ''slides''. |
Needlelady:LOL! What else will happen? |
I completely agree with Richie on this one. This is one of the most vibrant section of the Land, and a ''newcomer'' like Kobo cannot just come in here and Oga Seun will just lord him over us. Han han, this smacks of injustice of the highest order. We need to make input into who moderates us here. And before you lot start dissing me, you should realise that I'm one of the few peeps here who is a law abiding ''citizen'' of the land. I have never been banned for anything! So, Seun, please tell Kobo to step down until we decide who moderates us here. That's my take on this one. |
dayokanu:LOL! |
I copied the below from your link. And I want sincere Nigerians to tell us if these things being credited to OBJ are worth carrying as worthy projects. I leave the floor open. ELECTRICITY SINCE 1999 Major Infrastructural Expansion • Geregu Plant, Kogi State: completed and commissioned February 2007 • Omotosho Plant, Ondo State: completed and commissioned May 2007 • Papalanto Plant, Ogun State: On going • Alaoji Plant, Abia State: On going • Egbema Plant, Imo State: On going • Omoku Plant, Rivers State: State complted, Federal On going • Calabar Plant, Cross River State: On going • Gbarain Plant, Bayelsa State: On going • Ihovbor Plant, Edo State: On going MAMBILLA HYDRO PLANT: 2000MW: Contract signed and civil works have begun. Really?? Pls list out what he achieved during his first year in office. I'm waiting. |
Well, if we weigh OBJ's first year in office side-by-side that of Yar Adua, y'all will agree with me that Naija is moving at supersonic speed this time, compared to what obtains during babacratic OBJ time. OBJ was busy settling the hands that brought him in during his first year in office. There wasn't any record of anything concrete that he initiated and even completed during his first year (and in deed througout his stay in office) - aside from his all-new Hiltop Mansion at Ibara Abeokuta, his numerous schools and Bells University of Technology, his farms spread allover the country, retinue of women (including his son's wife) and of course, his globetrotting skills. I suggest we give YarAdua some time. He's going to do well. You all will see. It's just unfortunate that he came in via the leprous hands of OBJ. |
Just like he made Nigerians believe that he wasn't interested in becoming Head of State (Not my will or something), but his COAS, Lt. Gen Theophilus Danjuma came and made us know that the OBJ of Owu was actually interested in staying longer than 1979. It was TY Danjuma who punctured his plans. Crafty fool. ''His'' East-West road project my foot. |
Taking a closer look at what OBJ claimed to have initiated, I should remind you all that the East-West road dualisation project only came to limelight at the twilight of his administration - and that's because the ''noise'' from the delta was getting deafening and he needed to act fast before the refineries and oil field in the area goes up in flames. I remember reading something like he will personally come to flag off the road project. He didn't. The next we heard was that he was on a jet flying towards the North Pole! He was always in the air - probably consulting with the gods! The road project credit cannot, and will not be ascribed to the pilfering, thieving, ugly looking, shameless and adulterous OBJ. If any one will take credit for it, then it's the struggling and deprived people of the Niger Delta. I have been watching YarAdua for a while. His efforts at making sure that fuel price did not go beyond N70 is noteworthy. We all know what excuse OBJ would have given by now for raising the price to at least N150/litre. I will for once believe YarAdua will deliver the goods. We cannot close our eyes, look the other way, when some $16Billion dollar worth of projects cannot be properly accounted for. This is a big dent on OBJ image and a moral burden to him. All his evil deeds have overshadowed and rubbished whatever good he's made. |
Well, at least fuel price has not increased from the N70 we've been buying it, even when the price of crude oil has increased significantly. The other day, I read in the dailies that the man (YarAdua) subsidised fuel with some 36 billion naira - that's some money that could have been spent on something else. The East-West road dualisation project has finally taken off - at least we can see Julius Berger and Setraco working on both the East and West ends of the road. I read also that the FG is planning to build additional refineries in Lagos and Akwaibom States to cater for domestic needs. I think these are laudable projects that might impact greatly on the lives of the people in the Southern part of Nigeria. |
You can claim ''first oil'' only when you have the facilities to evacuate ''commercial'' quantities of hydrocarbon to a sales point at the initial stage, and the field is onstream (ramping up production) All of the information given above did not state that the wells were tested to ''potential'', or that some x barrels/day crude was obtained from the well. Now, while the geological information stated looks promising, it is only at the point where we have hydrocarbon production that we can claim the field is indeed commercial. I would greatly love to see Lagos join the ranks of oil producers, since this will eventually reduce dependency on niger delta oil and gas resources - too many mouths to feed with meagre resources from Niger Delta crude oil sales. |
I read that Tahir story too in the Sun mag. And after ruminating over what could make the Taliban of Bauchi utter such words, I came to the conclusion that Nigeria indeed needs to be pitied! What else can one say, when people who are supposed to lead the country are the ones setting the stage for corruption to feed fat. |
Ha! You be my main geee? Mi gwo Sir!!! |
I don't know about you guys. But here in Portharcourt, I've had the best experince with UBA's ATM. Whenever I go to their Rumukwurushi branch, hardly do I see the machine not working. On the other side of the expressway lies the FBN ATM machine. It's almost always offline and ''can't dispense cash'' As per the COT matter on savings account, I'm going to have to check with my account manager tomorrow if any such things obtains. |
oruwe:LMFAO!! Oruwe, (I hope it's not the Oruwe that I know means something silly in Urhobo and Isoko language is what you're using o!) you're very correct. You don't expect anything like ''protocol-following'' from an offshoot of the Amala Politician. |
I'm just dumbfounded, . . . . . speechless. But, isn't there an agancy, body or something in the UN that's supposed to help out very poor countries like Haiti in times like these? The last days are upon us. Let him that hath the spirit of understanding know the time of His coming is indeed very short. |
There's no gainsaying the fact that Olusegun Obasanjo (alias OBJ) is the biggest THIEF down south of the Arabian Sahara Desert! As far as I'm concerned, he's thievery, thuggery and adultery personified. No matter what others say, do or think should be our focus of the moment, all I know is that without looking back and addressing where we went wrong - and that without bias, we will never progress. In that vein, I support everything that will lead to the obliteration of the person of Olusegun Obasanjo, his families, well wishers and friends from the face of Nigeria. I careless what folks say here. ''That'' is my greatest wish of the moment. |
Mind boggling indeed. I sometime think all I'm hearing are just the figment of some people's imagination - but alas! it's for real. OBJ is the biggest thief Nigeria has ever produced. The Gap-toothed general IBB is miles behind him. OBJ simply perfected the art of stealing. |
We might as well forget about power from them. We'll keep using our generators and solar cells. Who cares some godforsaken nigerian government!! ![]() |
Well I thought they fabricated everything including the engine too. How is it that they claimed to have built the warship without the most important component of the ship? |
